BusinessRe: Foreign Investors Withdraw N642bn From Stock Market by Fweezy(m): 7:37am On Jan 18, 2019
Mr CEO, please stop deceiving unlearned Nigerians. Why do you need more local private companies listed on the NSE when you have allowed the likes of Dangote and foreign multinationals operating in every sector of the economy e.g MTN, TOTAL, TREVI, UAC, Nestle, Julius Berger etc to thrive and snuff out competition from local companies and investors? The Nigerian currency is hinged to the dollar because these large corporations invest dollars and also make their profit in dollars right under our noses, hence we operate a dollarized economy here. We therefore dont need foreign investment the same way we need local investment, sir. We need foreign investment much much more than local investment. Period!
You are not the man going to single-handedly approve and implement 2019 budget swiftly to have positive impact on the economy as you have claimed and the people going to do so have never passed a single budget on time in the last 3 years and presently no interest in the NSE right now but on election campaign and re-election. Dont force your beliefs and optimism down our throats. We are talking about reality here. Your supposed efforts at engaging private companies to invest in the Nigerian economy is all hogwash, until you list out in clear-cut bullet points what these so-called friendly market policies are, how you put them in place and what impact they have had in recent times. If your so-called market friendly policies did nothing to stop private investors from pulling their funds out of the country, then please stop selling these disastrous ideas to us that your policies will favour local investors.

Let's not deceive ourselves. d Nigerian stock market has been & is being used to hoodwink unsuspecting people who ar merely looking for where to invest their monies only to be victims of a very very corrupt system which benefits mainly a few who manipulate d system to their advantage while d majority small investors lose money. Some small investors may benefit but they ar in d minority. d market is not run to favor them but to favor only a very few.
Dubious foreign Crooks masquerading as investors hav always flocked to d Nig Stock Market because they get away with many things that they won't in other climes where d markets are well regulated. Even companies on d edge of bankruptcy, cook their books & get listed on our stock exchange. d NSE is a sham & a joke.
From 2008, nothing has changed. d Market is still being manipulated. d foreign money isn't from serious investors & multinationals but from Crooks looking to make a fast buck from a rigged, dysfunctional system.
PoliticsRe: More Debt For Nigeria, As FG Seeks $100 Million Broadband Loan From India by Fweezy(m): 7:26am On Jan 18, 2019
Another useless move at this critical time of Buhari's tenure by this APC administration. Even though the APC kept crying wolf at past administration for doing things like this, now they are in power, this administration just like others before it in the past continues to borrow trillions and trillions of naira every year to fund national budget, payment of salaries for a corrupt and over-bloated civil service, payment of subsidy for fuel importation, distribution of dollars to a selected few government cronies whilst using the umbrella of development of infrastructure projects as a scam to deceive Nigerians. The other day I read some where that EFCC claimed that over 200 billion dollars has been stolen from the national coffers (without telling us who and who stole what and in which regime) through corruption in government from the 80's till date. How they arrived at this ridiculous figure through estimation and calculation within such a short period of time still baffles me. Somebody in government needs to do the same thing now with our past and current debt situation so we can know where we stand right now the reality we will be facing ahead. Whether we will become the next Venezuela sooner or later in the coming years. EFCC will not venture try this or else they are seeking to loose their jobs as this will clearly expose the rot in the government system. A transparent government would have told us in clear terms how previous loans taken have been utilized and how we intend to repay past and current debts given the projection of our current yearly revenue from the sale of crude oil going forward. Someone needs to tell us how much our total foreign debt stands, how much we repay every year and when we will begin to enjoy the dividends of the so-called infrastructure development they continue touting at us as a convenient excuse to continue more and more borrowing.
Its bad enough that we have been raped and ripped off our oil by the west in the past and early years of our democracy, now we are giving turns to the Chinese and Indians to come and ravage what is left by giving us loans with outrageous repayment interest and conditions, allowing their companies to come and set up shop so easily here and kill off competition from small businesses and local investors.
What right thinking government takes a loan for broadband connectivity when it has yet to solve the epileptic power supply problem nationwide.
Has anybody given thought to this or is this another plot to ensure that the power problem will never be fixed so that generator and generator part importers, fuel marketers and other beneficiaries of the power problem continue to hold the whole country to ransom whilst they keep smiling to the bank every year and feeding fat on government contracts and calling the rest of us fools?

BusinessRe: BREAKING: Onyema Explains Withdrawal Of N606bn From Equities Market by Fweezy(m):
The CEO, who said the market need foreign investors the way retail domestic investors are needed, assured that the exchange was working on ways to deepening the participation of retail investors in the market going forward. He expressed optimism that the market will bounce back in the second half (H2) of this year.

“Domestically, we believe market sentiments in the first half (H1) of the year will be driven by uncertainty in the oil prices as well as the 2019 general elections. Accordingly, we anticipate volatility in equities market in H1 in 2019 with enhanced stability post-elections. We believe swift approval and implementation of the 2019 budget may have a positive impact on the companies’ earnings as well as consumer spending. Therefore, we anticipate a return of listings during the year with an uptick in market activity during the H2 of 2019,” he said.
Speaking on the protection of domestic investors, Onyema assured that the exchange would ensure that listed companies stick to listing requirements for the benefits of shareholders.

He said that to enhance the exchange’s listing prospects, “we have strengthened our government engagement efforts on privatization and listing of state-owned enterprises, and we expect to take advantage of opportunities within this space during the year. We also intend to maintain our collaborative efforts with public and private sector stakeholders to advocate for market friendly policies, and cater to infrastructure financing needs as well as other capital requirements necessary for sustainable economic growth. The exchange intends to work with the private sector as well, to catalyse the listing of more companies,” Onyema explained.

This is very funny really. Why not just put a bullet in the damn bish's head and get it over with. You say 14 years imprisonment is too lenient and you add just another 4 years? I thought they was gonna add another 14 or 28 years to the already miserable life of this woman. In all my life I have never seen or heard any in the past till now about prosecution of the Britons and British govt officials who were involved in the exploitation of underdeveloped african nations, slave trade and human trafficking of natives from West Africa to Britain to work as farm helps and house helps for their citizens for several years in the colonial era and pre-independence eras as well. Why are white people so hypocritical and adopt double standards when it comes to serving justice to their offending citizens and to black coloured nationalities. A similar scenario is playing out in the states only this time the culprit was a white police officer who claims she went to a black man's house and shot him twice, killing him. The woman has been released on bail after 24 hours and those who protested against the killings were jailed for more than five days. The white community is silent about this injustice, even white churches and pastors too are backing away out of fear of reprisals for taking sides with a visibly enraged black community. We are not hearing any white person saying the prosecution is too lenient in handling her case, they are rather diverting attention by telling lies and trying to make the late guy look bad. Nonsense

RomanceRe: Sunday Eguakhide Dies During Sex With Lover In Office (photo) by Fweezy(m): 6:09pm On Sep 04, 2018
I cant help but bash this guy even as a guy myself. I feel ashamed for this man's useless lifeless dead body. A big fool for his old age. This man has brought overflowing shame both in life and in by his death to his family, immediate and extended, friends, church members, his village people and even his kinsmen etc.
A 56 year old smashing a mother of two. and of all places....in his office. A public servant. Living off on the taxes I pay to an already wasteful and over bloated government. How can a man of his position stoop so low as to desecrate the place from which he earns his daily bread. Its already bad enough that their women nowadays are completely shameless, fighting over dicckk in hotels and travelling bus park terminals who not only see prostitution as a means of livelihood both as a way of life itself. but for God's sake a 55 year old? Tomorrow one idiot somewhere will say we shud respect our elders and this fool would have been counting himself too as an elder. The police in my opinion are just a bunch of equally useless for arresting the said woman involved. Would they claim not to have known that she frequently came to his office to suck their Oga's diccckkk and have s3xx with him? Why did they not arrest her then all those times but turned blind eyes and waited until the fool was KIA? This late fool has probably ordered his boys to carry out several raids in the past in hotels and brothels in and around Ikeja and arrested several innocent men who chose to do the right thing by taking a girl to the hotel or smashing local hoes. The normal thing which this fool should have done but chose to do in his office. A law breaker put in charge to enforce the same law he blatantly breaks and disobeys. A normally sane country with a working government would have taken this matter seriously and started making deep investigations into the frivolous lifestyle of police bosses nation wide with a view to fish out culpable officers and getting them sacked and tried for treason. So many heads would have rolled by now and many resignations made willingly by guilty officers. But no. The prime and only suspect being the lady has been arrested so case closed. All the other women this fool had been bonking in the past would read this news and be laughing their assess of wherever they are right now. Serves him right. God don catch am.
On the off chance, what if such women were smart enough to gain access to sensitive data and investigation reports? I am very sure that these are the sort of women who go about making trouble in the market place, in the compound, in the neighborhood and in the office, molesting, assaulting, abusing and fighting other women and even men boldly without any fear of repercussion or remorse, threatening them with police to lock them up. And do you know why? Yes, you guessed right. They only need to make one phone call to the police boss and their all their enemies both perceived and conceived are in deep trouble. The wife on her own part did what the average typical Nigerian woman would do. Blame some one else other that themselves or the culprit in this case who caused his own death. Its no surprise that women from that area hardly get married but multiply bastard children from different men. Those who get lucky were either married out of prostitution or after their youthful lives have been wasted and they end up in church. Its also no surprise that policemen have no respect or regard for women because they see them as play things and intimacy gadgets they can smash at will with no consequence. Yet when they see men in their cars driving pretty women around they get aggressive and exhibit out-rightly stewpid behavior. Thats how some officers stopped me at Lakowe the other day and were asking me silly questions about the lady I was carrying after wasting my time checking all my car papers. I bluntly told them that though she is not my wife I know the father of the girl very well and he is aware her daughter is with me. With bold face I told them to follow me down to her house and meet him if they are not satisfied. When they noticed I wasn't flinching one of them tried to search her bag, the babe just chill calmly dey press phone cos she know say crase too dey my head. Last last na sorting end the matter cos I didnt want them to waste my time any longer. Blurddy ffools.

This is the case of an employee (A young Lawyer) who recently got assaulted and harassed by gun-wielding policemen at the request of his former employer simply because he requested for his outstanding salary to be paid- READ THE STORY

As narrated by #OREOLUWA (on twitter)

The guy Kunle Karimu, resigned from his job in May 2018 but Olawore (his direct boss) asked him to stay till June to give him time to get a replacement. By mid June, Kunle was sacked and given a post dated cheque for 28/6/2018. As at the date, the bank didn’t honor the cheque due to irregularities on signature. Kunle took the cheque back to the Olawore who refused to amend the error. Kunle insisted that he would need the man to sign it so he could get paid. Since Kunle refused to leave the man called the police saying that Kunle held him hostage.

The NBA Lagos branch has taken up the matter and I understand Kunle is liaising with the Disciplinary committee on the matter. We are hopeful. All other channels will also be explored.

HE MUST GET JUSTICE.

I was nt d only one invited for d test/interview. And before we left we were told dey wntd 2person n successful mail will b sent to successful applicants. D day I went 4 d discussion I was told dey choose only me. So u can imagine.
IMO nobody conducts an interview only to hang the successful candidate afterwards unless the management has changed their minds along the way or they would rather get someone else. Have you tried contacting the second runner-up after you if he had been called back? His response should give an insight into what the management feels about you as the choice candidate. But if by a stroke of chance, they might actually be sincere and want to sort their internal issues first before bringing you on board then you have nothing to fear. Just relax and give it a while, say another week or two. They'll definitely call you back and bargain your pay with you.

From the tenseness in your writing I can tell you really need this job very badly cos you may have been down and out for a while. I want to encourage you to hang on tight, be positive and hopeful things will turn out alright ok. On the flip side dont appear to be too desperate or those guys may take you for a long ride and shortchange you of the sales you make at the end of the day. Also take a critical look at this company with surgical critical eyes, if you notice they got too many internal managerial problems of their own with their employees and clients then watch yourself and dont get caught in too deep. Look out to other companies, improve on your self and your skills and pray for the best.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Employment! Employment!! Employment!!!- Nigeria My Country by Fweezy(m): 12:58pm On Jul 05, 2018
It sounds more like the management either conducted the interview as a formality or that after the interview was conducted, they decided to select a special candidate for the job on the orders of the Oga at the top and yes, your guess is as good as mine. This special candidate didn't go through the stress of the interview as you did and so you most likely wont know the person and neither will you be told if and when the person starts the actual job. The response from the HR about getting an accountant to resolve salary issues is just a load of crap and meant to distract and discourage you. They probably see you as a plan B or a plan C, If their plan A of getting the special candidate to accept the job offer fails. It has absolutely nothing to do with the salary figure you gave them or if their sales is going up or down. Unless the company appears to be an upstart newcomer to the business and come out as if they don't know what they are doing and how to run their own business properly.

You sign an agreement with a crook of a Landlord then go ahead to pay him money in advance of getting the house in order, shit happens and now you wanna get a lawyer to redeem your 80k? Brother why didnt you get a lawyer in the first place? How can you trust a man you have never met in your life with money your hard-earned money? Are you even sure he is the owner of the place or just another agent fronting for the owner? Even with your video evidence, you will still loose the case in court because you never got a legal person involved in the first place.
PropertiesRe: How Do I Deal With My Landlord? by Fweezy(m): 8:22am On Dec 18, 2017
This is a result of several mistakes made at the initial stage for which you are paying the price for it right now.
1. You were too hasty to leave your parents house and your impatience led you tell the agent to get a self con at a cheap price for you as a matter of urgency when your parents never tried to evict you at short notice. The agent in turn took advantage of your desperation and sold you quickly to that fool of a landlord whose crib you rented without thinking twice.
2. You failed to carry out due diligence and swallowed the lies told to u by the agent hook, line and sinker that the house and accessories/services were ok. (This jonsing on your part is allowed since its your first time hehehe!) You should have asked questions from neighbors and people living in the street about the light, the water, the house and even the landlord himself. If the landlord treats other tenants badly or is generally a bad person people who know will gladly tell you and warn you ahead of time.
3. You let your pride get the better part of you by thinking " because I felt like I needed to be a man of own and not stay in my fathers house any longer". Being a man is not all about talk and feeling alone. You felt because you had some good money and could afford to buy and fuel your own gen set that you were prepared for everything coming your way? You have to do some real deep thinking and planning for unforseen circumstances such as the one you are facing just now. Did you consult with anybody having similar experience before seeking to rent your own place? Have you thought about getting a lawyer and being able to pay legal fees in the event that this becomes a legal battle you must see through till the end?
This is only just the beginning. You are young and still have much to learn so let me tell you how dis is going to end. You are gonna pack out by yourself after 3 years of frustration , insults and harassment. 20k is just the beginning of your problems. You have been scammed jointly by the agent and landlord and will not be getting your money back after paying for damages you were never responsible for. That's just about it bro.

https://www.nairaland.com/3374560/businesses-houses-underwater-lekki/1#49733262

Fweezy:
IMO, residents of Ibeju Lekki are in over their head on this one and entirely on their own on this one. Lagos state govt went ahead to hastily approve estate development plans from real estate developers without properly scrutinizing the details to identify drainage network system in place and in many cases no water drainage network at all. Greedy land buyers equally also failed to ask questions about water drainage system but were happy buying several plots and cruising their cars in and out of their homes without thinking of the rainy day. Well now those days have come and now they are asking these questions too late. This is only just the beginning. As the atlantic water continues to surge, the water table levels will continue to rise and the land will slowly, gradually and eventually go down and under. In the near future, flooded properties will be the least of their worries but loss of life will be their biggest worry. All kinds of water borne diseases, typh/malaria, mosquito breeding are just around the corner waiting to take over. They shud continue!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Recruitment: Nigeria Immigration Warns Applicants Against Fraudsters by Fweezy(m): 9:23pm On May 23, 2017
This job is a government scam. The last recruitment exercise which i personally partook in at the National Stadium in surulere, Lagos was a total rip off. The aptitude test was nonsensical, a complete waste of time. The recruitment process itself was massively flawed and very shady. The trial of the former NIS director general who raked in millions through the registration fees of applicants who registered online has been swept under the carpet while government cronies and their wards have been successfully smuggled into the employment of the NIS. Any sensible graduate with a vision for his career growth and the near future should stay away from government advertised jobs such as this which engender and promote corruption in the Nigerian government and the nation as a whole. I know so many people will hear this warning and still go ahead to apply. Carry on, friend(s). Your personal experience will be your best teacher.

BusinessRe: Reasons Lagosians Should Move Their Businesses To Apapa by Fweezy(m): 2:52pm On Apr 27, 2017
The negatives of this Apapa of a place are far more than the positives stated here as good reason to move businesses down to Apapa most of which i have personally witnessed firsthand during my stay around that neighborhood.

First problem is location. Apapa is not centrally but marginally located at a very extreme corner of Lagos state, bordered by the Lagoon and sea ports. Chances of growth and expansion are very slim and land mass is small. The whole place is filled up and choked up.

Secondly is traffic. You dont want to be caught dead in the zone when traffic is at its worst with trailers, tankers, trucks and all manner of heavy duty vehicles plying the major roads at rush hour. The traffic situation is sometimes caused and most times compounded by the bad state of the roads. Those who recall can tell you the story of the legendary traffic which went on record a few years back during a time of fuel scarcity/tanker drivers' strike originating from the ports at Apapa passing thru four LCDAs all the way down to the by-pass overhead bridge at Oshodi. A nightmare that went on for many days on end until the then governor had to step in. Whether its oil tankers supplying imported fuel passing through Apapa or containers moving goods to various destinations around the state, the result is always the same. Traffic jamz like no other.

Thirdly the security situation in spite of the heavy presence of armed security personnel and their barracks. Too many unscrouplous elements are seen and allowed to roam about freely in every corner of the place waiting for and instigating all manner of mishaps in order cause mayhem and loot shops at the slightest opportunity. There are boys who run joints and even trade in the hard stuff just on the other side of the fence of an army barracks at Mobil road. How is this good for business?

Fourthly, the surrounding environment is filthy and messed up as a result. You dont need to wonder so much why Ijora-badia which is quite close to Apapa is world famous for its trash heaps and ranks dirtiest environment in the state. How is this kind of publicity good for business?

Hello @Dorisk. You dont need to insinuate this or preempt anything of such. The Nigerian army wont be stupid enough to film this or allow anyone film them doing a thing like this to IPOBians and let the images leak out on social media as that would be tantamount to shooting themselves in the foot. Only hungry and desperate bloggers dying to drive traffic to their sites can go to this length of framing or exposing the army on this with such a pix and a highly exaggerated tag to it and I doubt the army guys will let the culprit get away with it irrespective of whether the pix/video was real or fake. So yes, this could be some sort of joke to such a blogger but no, the army wont be seen or heard laughing about this.

And by the way, that's a lovely pix you got there on ur dp. wink
