ottawasenators: i saw a response to some tweet from IRCC not too long ago and this is accepted. Please can you share a screenshot of the tweet? I've tried to search but didn't see anything of the sort. Maybe someone should tweet this and see their response... I am not on Twitter I'd have done it (and no, I don't want to have a Twitter account ) |

Tojued: Are you sure it's about IRCC? Are people applying to be panel physicians and IRCC is rejecting them? I think it's just a reflection of the ongoing mass migration in our medical sector. One thing this move can achieve is that IRCC may allow people submit their applications pending when they do Medicals. Just like what they do for countries that don't issue PCCs without a request from IRCC. One may have to upload proof that you are booked for medicals but your appointment is way after the 60 days deadline. Maybe we should specifically ask for this? cc Joo2018 |

joo2018: It is a wawu!!!!
Is it a deliberate attempt to reduce the number of Nigerians?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx I don't think so. Let's blame the panel physicians not CIC. I just checked- India has about 58 Panel Physicians. Our doctors please stop going to Canada na... Go and do training and become panel physicians |

Newmum0615: @drcynthia and co. Hehehe.. no be me talk am o Guys... I just checked and there are two panel physicians in Benin Republic... Those in Lagos can go there. I remember a few years ago when GRE was stopped in Nigeria for a few months, people travelled to Benin Republic and Ghana to write the exams. It really may come to this. |

Tojued: Lol thought i saw not true o!
It's like the work involved in this medicals is not worth the profit. About Panel Physicians. I don't think it's about the hospital... I think It's more about the particular physician... I think it's possible that these physicians have left the employ of the said hospitals. Some might even be members of this thread self... I hope those who have been booked at Children's practice will still be able to do theirs o. It's so sad

MamaOO: Hey everybody, quick question. Are adults eligible to use the visa on arrival option for a Nigerian visa? And after sending the email and all the works, how long does it take to get a response? I think I read it somewhere here that they give a response of “Received” after you send the email. Lastly, do we have to make the payment before getting the approval or after approval?
Thanks a lot. Yes! Adults are very eligible to use the VOA option. A few friends of mine have used it successfully. I don't have definite answers to your other questions |

cutelass: You people can panic shaa. Nobody is stripping anybody of anything. It's not done anywhere, Britain didnt do it, nor Ireland. Whatever decision they finally take, is 'going forward' in fact, Britain had an interval of 14 months between passing the law and enforcing it.
However, one thing is sure...it's gonna get to their supreme court this time around and having looked at that law (the 14th ammendment), one phrase stands out..'subject to the jurisdiction thereof'. Seems to me like something that can be interpreted to favour any side. Hehehe... I'm really not panicking... I was actually responding to a picture someone posted earlier. How are you? And how is Baby? |

shawlar: I am sure alot of us have pondered the same thing
it’s only an option for our kids, they are free to renounce the citizenship when they are 18 and just be Nigerian (I can imagine the kind of swear their own kids would swear for them if they get to know) True! You know, we also should be grateful that Nigeria allows dual citizenship... I just realised from my Tanzanian friend that it is against the law to hold dual citizenship in Tanzania. There are many more (African) countries that don't allow it. One reason to be grateful for being Nigerian |

Phew...
I have always wondered if having an American child is really worth it on the long run. I was speaking with my American colleagues and all three of them were just complaining...(these are "privileged" very well educated Americans with good jobs)
The inequity and high cost of health care in the country. the loans...huge huge student loans they are saddled with... the over reliance on "credit"... the taxes...the fact that my child will always pay taxes to the US govt wherever he lives in the World. T
Is it even really worth it?
I mean, yes, the passport allows you to travel visa free to many countries but what else? |

I have posted this in the birthing thread but just thought to put it here since it's a "POE" experience I passed through the dreaded Chicago POE and had a very interesting encounter. I came to the US for a business meeting and had no business with Chicago o but BA decided that I must pass Chicago before getting to my final destination.
Got to the CBP officer- White guy
Cbp: what are you here for and how long Me: told him Cbp: where do you work Me: told him CBP: when last did you come to the US and what for Me: i had a baby the last time I came (I was tired jare plus had a connecting flight to catch so I went straight to the point) Him: Why did you have your baby in the US ME: DUAL citizenship Him(Visibly upset): How much did you pay? Me: Told him and I added that I had renewed my visa after that and was asked all these questions at the embassy Him(very angry and raising his voice at me): Your child can NEVER be an American. You think you can just come here and give birth and he becomes American? He can never be one. Show me your ticket I want to be sure you are leaving my country.
Me (showed him my return ticket) Him: (Raising his voice now) Get out of my face... Just Go... Get out Me: eh... have you stamped my passport? Him: Just get out! Me: jejely carried my passport and checked that he had stamped me in Carried my bags and went to catch my connecting flight.
In all this, I was very calm... I didn't let him bother me at all...

NothingDoMe: On a lighter note I think you flipped the psychological tables. Not too many people can do that. What's your height?
Seriously, I think what the Visa Officer wrote at your last interview was at play today again. Lol @height I think it may have been worse if I had said "for better medical service" which is (probably) what he may have expected me to say. I don't know jare. That my last interview get as e be sef... as I posted last year, the VO said she would put a note that I can't access medical care with the visa. That's why immediately the cbp asked me why I was here the last time I just volunteered the information that I had a baby |

But you also made it sound like you went there with the attitude of I ready for una today. Honestly o The thing do me like film trick. I actually was very tired as it was a long trip and I still had another plane to catch in less than an hour so I didn't want to beat around the bush by saying "better medical care". In retrospect, I may have been too blunt in saying I wanted my child the opportunity of dual citizenship which was the truth... I don't think I would have said it so bluntly if I wasn't too tired to think. It really did hit a wrong nerve with him. I had to check my i94 when I got to my final destination to make sure I was fully stamped in |

Do we need to apply for him(my son) as well or come with him to the visa appointment center on the appointment day? He is to travel with us if visa is approved. My husband and I recently obtained UK visas... Your US citizen son doesn't need to apply for a UK Visa... No! You don't have to go with him to the visa appointment and No!You don't even have to attach his US passport. The only thing I attached was my child's birth certificate |

A quick question pls
Does it pose a problem if my sis earns more than her husband and if asked who is sponsoring..what would be the appropriate answer?should they run a joint account?
They intend going for vacation with their toddler Thanks in anticipation of your prompt and favorable responses I don't think it is a problem. There really is nothing wrong in your sister sponsoring the trip. There is no law that says a husband must earn more than his wife . They don't have to run a joint account for this purpose. |

kokoli: Good morning house. Please I would want to know if it is compulsory to photocopy all the International passport pages orj ust the bio data page with previous travel stamps? 2. Am I required to come along with a passport for my biometrics? your urgent responses will be appreciated I honestly don't think it is compulsory. I recently applied for a UK visa with a very new passport and didn't bother including copies of my travel stamps and visas in my expired passports. It was a risk though and I won't advise a first time UK visa applicant to go that route. |

Thing is she is still undecided on her job experience.
She has not worked a day in her life, so to speak.
More of volunteer work.
She has managed her father's bakery and her father's pure water venture.
She has also managed her mother's school for a while.
She has a BSc in Business Admin and MBA too.
How should she sell her Skills to Canada immigration?
My question really is WHAT KIND OF SKILLS SHOULD SHE PUT FORWARD?
Thank you. Has she served? She can use her NYSC experience. |

Jarus: I fully agree with you. I really dont think UK visa is that difficult if you have good documentation and good case to be given the visa.
In fact, I made a couple of errors in my last application ( last month) that if they were really petty as the gentleman said, I should be refused. But they were reasonable enough.
I really dont believe in the speculation up there. I also totally agree with omobendel I made a few "errors" and got away with it. For instance, the invitation letter I included was addressed to me and not the UK high commission... I didn't include any details of my UK contact e.g. utility bills or passport data page. It was just an email saying my family is always welcome to stay at theirs. I also didn't bother including copies of my old passports and visas as suggested... I submitted my recently (re)new(ed) "virgin" passport and reckoned they should have details of my previous applications I didn't have energy to get letter of introduction from my office so I just included my employment letter and pay slips... I also only included three months bank statement My spouse is self employed and only included personal account (healthy inflow and outflow but less than 10k balance) and the cac incorporation form showing us both as directors (I don't remember what it is called). I indicated in a cover letter that the entire cost will be drawn from my accounts Point is, my application was farrrrrrrrrr from perfect but we got it. Having said that, I am very aware of the fact that many eligible people are refused visas everyday and it is a very painful feeling. I wish every genuine applicant the very best. |
