FoodNigerian Foods You Should Eat To Stay Healthy by ganase2(op): 7:25am On Sep 03, 2013
Nigerian cuisines are famous for their spicy flavors and intense aromas as Nigerians sure know how to prepare some of the most delicious foods that are not only delicious but also provide potential health benefits which is reason why Nigerians in diaspora usually crave for these local cuisines when they are out of their motherland. Those who prepare these Nigerian meals professionally for the Nigerian in diaspora are usually successful for these reasons

Because Nigerian cuisine tends to contain large amounts of vegetables, lean meats and whole grains, it’s a healthful way to mix up a bland diet.

Edikang Ikong

Edikang Ikong is a traditional Nigerian soup (originating from the south-south part of Nigeria) that is full of fresh vegetables with recipe which usually includes tomatoes, pumpkin, and onions.
As revealed by Harvard School of Public Health, regularly consuming fresh vegetables such as those found in Edikang Ikong can reduce the risk of certain cancers, stroke and digestive system problems. Also diet rich in omega-3 fats also reduce your risk of rheumatoid arthritis and Type 2 diabetes.

Egusi

This is a spicy stew which contains bitter melon, red peppers and an with or without crayfish. However, crayfish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fats offer important heart-health benefits such as increasing “good” high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (highly beneficial to the body)and reducing triglycerides.

Bitter Leaf

Bitter leaf is a typical Nigerian food that finds its way into a number of traditional dishes. The bitter leaf — also known as Vernonia amygdalina — is abundant in antioxidants, and according to “Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.” antioxidants are compounds in plant foods that combat a harmful process known as oxidation and so general help the body system to be get rid of oxidants which are harmful to the body

Inyan

Inyan is a flavour-rich Nigerian cuisine made with fresh yams which is as easy as boiling yams and mixing the yams with water and mashing the mixture together in a mortar and pestle. Yams are a nutritious starchy vegetable rich in iron, vitamin A and selenium.

Also, yams are lower in the glycemic index than many other starchy vegetables like carrots and peas. Consuming a diet rich in low-glycemic index foods can reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Opt to keep the skin on your yams when preparing Inyan, as this is where many of the vitamins and fiber are found.

EXTRA: The last photo is a sumptuous vegetable prepared with enough ingredients if anyone can guess right

Christianity EtcPope Francis Bows For Queen Rania Of Jordan by ganase2(op): 9:07am On Sep 01, 2013
The Pope who is the leader of the world's 1.2 billion-strong Catholic community, protocol usually dictates that visitors bow to him when they meet him at the Vatican but the Pope has once again shown his willingness to break with tradition by bowing to Muslim royal Queen Rania of Jordan as a Vatican official said the new Pope Francis 'is not interested in protocol'

'Francis behaves as he did before he became pope and is not interested in protocol', a senior Vatican official told Journalist.

Up until the 19th century, those meeting the pope stoop to kiss his slippers and, to this day, the tradition remains that all visitors, including women, bow to him, the official said.

He even took a "selfie" picture with young teenage girls to show that he is well in tune with modern life
The pope has already amassed more than three million followers on the social networking site Twitter, with his latest picture believed to be the first ever 'papal selfie'.

Pope Francis has made a concerted effort to understand and integrate with worldwide youth since he succeeded Pope Benedict XVI as he has already charmed the masses with his informal style, simplicity and sense of humour.
He has also being known to personally call people up who have written to him asking for prayers or told him of personal tragedy.

What a good way to go by a leader with simplicity and humility

CelebritiesAnother Pastor Gives Shocking Revelation Of COZA Pastor's Scandals by ganase2(op): 7:04am On Aug 31, 2013
Few men of God have come out publicly comment on the sex scandal involving Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA Assembly, Abuja. However, Pastor J of God's House Church has this revelation to make on the accused Pastor:

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”Isaiah 9:16 . Let them alone: they be leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matt 15:14

I was going to be silent on this sad, pathetic but true (in many shades) allegation against Pastor B and his popular and trendy ministry. My silence was borne out of respect for the kingdom of God and things that pertain to God. But all this changed when I heard the horrific tales of people who had been through the mess of this blind man, and the fact that he had no moral motivation to deny or accept the allegation; all he showed on Sunday was a demented swagger and perverse talk.

My sole purpose in writing this piece is to open the eyes of the world and believers to the hypocrisy and nonsense behind the pulpit, and to plea that these wolves and blind men stop deflating the faith of people who Christ died for. I am a Pastor, a full time minister at that, and I shall not sit back whilethe name of my God, the ministry, and the works of other shepherds is brought to disrepute by the activities, action and inaction of a few blind men behind the pulpit.

I am tired of the nonsense of religion crying out, “touch not my anointed”; does this mean we cannot rebuke ourselves when we err, this much Paul did to Peter when he erred in Galatians 2:11 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed”. It is therefore pertinent that I rebuke the wolves in shepherd’s clothing’s. It is time to set the record straight, and please don’t sell me the bullocks of judge not, I haven’t said anyone is going to hell, but of course if they don’t change, they have only one path.

It is high time we told the truth, which is plain, simple and without coloration. The stories of Franca and Ese is not only true but they are just a few tales of the tantalizing sex escapades of this clergy. This has been a recurring decimal in the ministry of the clergyman. This wasn’t the first time these stories will come forth, for those old COZA members, for those who were there when he was in Ilorin, when the church moved to Pipeline Road, Ilorin, having left Kwara Hotel, they will remember there was a time when the Pastor was suspended from ministering by his Father in the Lord, Rev Oset of Canaan Ministries. Rev. Oset sent guest ministers to the church every Sunday after that, but still Pastor B in his deceit will still minister in the pretence of introducing the guest minister, while he exhorts for minutes. I therefore laugh in mockery when He says his wife loves him, the woman has no choice. His core circle of Pastor Wole (Ilorin Chapter, the only man who maybe clean), and Pastor Flo (COZA, Lagos) knows of this fact, little wonder Ese said Pastor Flo said he knows about their adventures in that hotel room in London.

This is not the story of a hater; I don’t want or envy anything he has. He cannot ever have what I have and carry; neither do I crave for what he has. I am sure no one in the city of Ilorin, where this man started is bemused by these stories, no one who finished from the University of Ilorin during the period of 2003-2008, and was not a blinded COZA member can be mightily shocked at these revelations. I have heard tales of many more victims, I even heard from a woman who knows five friends who were victims, I saw it online the other day of a guy who said he formally works for him and he knows up to 130 people, outrageous as it may sound that too is true. Rev Oset in true conscience cannot deny the knowledge of these negatives. But we are a nation of hypocrites and religious folks; we ask no questions of leaders, so they can hide under the canopy of religion, even when they are filthy. Anyone who asks is rebuked by those who say, the bible says pray. It is sad that those who say pray themselves have not prayed. But Pastor B is just a decimal in an ever mounting number of wolves in the Church of Christ.

Someone told me yesterday that this can’t be the end of him and his tyranny, because even in Ilorin in those days, the allegation was rolled under the rug. On Sunday, August 25, 2013, the man leading certain blind men under the veil of religion and ‘spiritism’ said God told him not to say anything, he then said they are preparing a robust response. Who is fooling who? We must not keep quiet and watch the bride of Christ, the church, rubbed and undignified in mud and slime by a filthily rich pastor who thinks he can do anything and get away with it.

It is a pity that we run sensational press and media outfit in this country, and that our press is blinded by religion. If this were to be ‘saner’ climes the press would by now be researching, there would by now be investigative journalism. The truth would be dogged up and resurrected to life. For this is not about a mistake that a Pastor made, it is about a filthy man’s way of life.

And then about, “teaching a new level of grace’; please be reminded that Grace is not a license to sin, rather it empowers us to live above sin. Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” In my years of being a Christian, studying God’s word, preaching the gospel, listening to sound teachers, I have not heard of a grace that gives permission to sin. Stop being deceived, grace is the new dispensation, according to Hebrew 8:6-12, and under grace we do not follow any written code, law or traditions. That is done away with. The tablet of Moses is over with. But we are not reckless sinners; we are under a new covenant based on better promises. God’s law is written in our minds and hearts. We live according to His dictates. The Holy Spirit and our conscience convicts and judges us respectively. This is the only way we live a holy life. God’s strength and empowerment is the grace to do according to that written by God in our hearts and minds.

I write this with a heavy heart, though I wish I never had to write this, but I pray this madness stops. I know many who have stopped going to church, many whose faith has been derailed by the act of madness of this man, and many blind men like him. If they are not going to heaven, let them stop taking men out of the straight and narrow. No one understands the pain in meeting a man, whose faith has been derailed by a man who was supposed to help establish him. For such a man, words can’t bring him back, the best we can do is to pray and hope. I indulge the clergy to be of a higher moral standard.

My candid advice to the church at this end time is that the church must grow in knowledge; it’s high time we stopped bamboozling you. You must stop making idols of men. You must stop making men such as I, substitute for the Holy Ghost. Honour us; revere us… but that is where it ends. Without the Call, the Oil, and the Holy Spirit; we are mere mortal. But know for sure that this too shall pass; only the truth of the Gospel of the Kingdom abides forever.

For Pastor B and his sense making COZA people, remember the word of Christ in Matthew 15:14. How many of you even live life bearing the fruit of righteousness. Stop being blind, the ditch is close by. Look into this case, ask your pastor questions, seek genuine answers and not emotional rhetorics, hold him responsible, and do not forget the word of God, “then shall they know if they follow to know…” I am sure evidence abound. Seek to know from some key PCU members (who may need to be deposited in Gods ICU). Its time you hear not only about grace, but HOLINESS without which no one will see the Lord.

Finally don’t bother praying against me, I can say like Paul, “For me to die is gain, to live is Christ”, but I cannot even go now, because I am yet to fully finish the task set before me. Don’t waste your time using misguided scriptural interpretation. This I write is true, and I am sorry if you don’t like it. Your Pastor, and every other wolf whose conscience is not seared knows it is the complete true.

God bless you.
God bless His Church
God bless Nigeria
From
Pastor J

RomanceMUST READ: Critical Things Every Mother And Would-be Mother Must Do by ganase2(op): 6:55pm On Aug 30, 2013
The family is the smallest unit in the society but has the biggest impact in the way morality of the society should be. So many stories now abound of child molestation and abuse, rape and adultery. As parents and mothers especially, the followings are the critical factors every responsible parents must do to ensure positive and happy family:

•Warn your daughter never to sit on anyone’s laps no matter the relationship even uncles.
•Once a very lively child suddenly becomes withdrawn, u might need to patiently ask a lot of questions.
•Never allow any adult refer to your new born as ‘my wife’ or ‘my husband’
•If u don’t teach your children about sex, the society will teach them the wrong values & most likely in very hard ways.
•Never tempt your husband with your sister or friend or else he’d say it’s hers & the devil’s fault
•Avoid unnecessary familiarity & make sure you take care of your husband yourself so as not to lead him into temptation
•Teach your 3-years olds how to wash their private parts properly & warn them never to allow anyone including u touch those areas. Remember, charity begins at home & with you.

•Whenever your child goes out to play with friends, make you look for a way to find out the kind of play they played together as young people sexually abuse themselves now.
•Never force your child to visit any adult he/she is not comfortable with and also be observant if your child becomes fond of a particular adult.
•It's always advisable you go through any new material like cartoons you buy for them before they start seeing it themselves.
•Blacklist all materials you think could threaten the sanity of your child i.e. music, movies & musicians & let them understand d value of standing out of the crowd.
•Once your child complains about a particular person, don’t keep quiet about it. Take up the case & show you can always defend her!
•Avoid getting dressed in front of your child once he/she is 2-years old. Learn to excuse yourself.
•If u have to hire a house-help, kindly take them for HIV screening to determine their status, properly interview them and make up your mind to treat them well.

*Now, if u find this useful enough, send to others

Technology MarketCREATIVITY: Gadget That Doesn't Spill Coffee, Even When You Fling It Around by ganase2(op): 3:34am On Aug 30, 2013
We call it "spill not"...!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzxuDymC39A

Finally, we can now carry mugs of hot, steaming coffee around without spilling them. The SpillNot holder promises to do away with accidental splashes bringing an end to stained floor surfaces and scalded hands.

The device is made up of a curved plastic arm and nylon carry-strap that is attached to a flat base, creating the perfect balance to stop anything from spilling.

It can even be rotated around above head height, twirled in circles, or swung from side to side as it is carried without losing any liquid.'It works using physics, centripetal force, so as you move and swing your arm the downward force goes to the base of the device.

A simple concept made into something that works well in every day life....creativity at its best!

'My parents and friends are really proud of me and think I look great, but my brother is the total opposite - he doesn’t get the whole bodybuilding thing at all,' she said.

Though bodybuilding has really helped my self-esteem, I tend to cover myself up when I’m out and about. If I don’t, people stare at me - especially at my arms and shoulders. I get a lot of compliments for my physique, but I get a lot of insults too - quite a few people have said nasty things about me in the past."

What do you think? Great body or certainly unbecoming for a lady...?

Romance10 Funny Signs You're An Introvert by ganase2(op):
In this age and time, being an introvert does not seem to be what anyone easily admits to....readily, everyone is trying to prove they have the requisite social skills of an extrovert.

Between, here are funny but real reasons why you just might be an introvert...do read on!

1. You think before you talk and check before you chat
Sort of the right thing to do huh?...You have a consistently running internal monologue that screens every word before it drops from your mouth. Not a fast speaker there...You screen your chats too severally, before you send them...lol.

2. You go to parties -– but not to meet people.
Nooo...you may not necessarily be hanging out alone...but meeting new people is rarely the goal of attending a party. You simply get in your safe harbour- looking out for your friends and hanging out with them.

3. Great speaker, fearful mingler
You may not be shy...infact, you can give a great speech in front of 500 people but mingling with them one-on-one afterwards is a huge problem.

4. You hate idle chatter
You can be in a room with room mates with them discussing on a topic without necessarily making a contribution...you hate small talk not because you hate people but because they seem meaningless to you.

5. You are self conscious
Since you are not doing most of the talking, you are doing most of the observing and hence, assume that everyone is observing you in the same way...judging the way you speak, your accent etc....whereas, they might not necessarily be doing so,

6. You like extreme sitting positions
When you have to sit at a bench, you don't sit in the middle because you don't like being surrounded by people on all sides. In church, you prefer the extreme rows of seats to the middle ones.

7. You dread audience participation
You prefer a talk or a lecture to a discussion or interaction. If you must be involved in the latter, you must have been informed earlier so that you can "compose yourself".

8. You've been accused severally of not keeping in touch
The funny part is that you cannot fathom why someone who called you three days back would call you and say something like; "You have forgotten me abi..."and you're like, "Are we supposed to be talking everyday"?....you also do not like midnight, except its utterly the last resort. For you, it's too much time to waste on "nonsense talk".
You screen all your calls and you may not pick up your phone even from people you like only to call them back as soon as you’re mentally prepared and have gathered the energy for the conversation.

9. You're a Writer
...a good one at that. Or sometimes, a poet. You prefer to put your ideas in writing than to speak them because the former gives you the opportunity to perfectly choose your words and structure your thoughts.

10. Friends made you and not the other way round
Check out the list of your closest and distant friends and you'd realize that they made more efforts at being your friend than you did at the initial stage before you settled into the friendship.

If you can boast of some of these qualities, then check again...against your initial judgement, you just might be an introvert!

CelebritiesCRAZY: Journalist Took Off Her Top While Interviewing Mayor (PHOTOS) by ganase2(op): 11:14am On Aug 27, 2013

How incredibly hot it must have been for a woman who obviously was not conducting her interview from hot state of Maiduguri in Nigeria but in Canada

The Canadian Journalist who was conducting an interview with a local Mayor took off her top during the interview because she claimed it was so "hot" and continued asking him questions bare-chested.

'What if I went walking down the street topless?' she asked in the recorded interview.

But before Gray could answer her question, Welbourne handed him her microphone and

undid the strap on her dress, exposing her breasts.

Lori Welbourne, who hosts the radio show On The Rocks and writes a column for the Province newspaper, was talking to Walter Gray, mayor of Kelowna in British Columbia, about whether it was legal in the town for women to bare their breasts in public.

The man quickly asked, 'What are you doing,' he asked, to which she replied, 'it's really hot in here.'

After regaining his composure, Gray explained that while someone may be tempted to call the police there is little authorities could do because it is in fact entirely legal for a woman to be topless anywhere a man can be.

Public toplessness is not illegal anywhere in Canada unless it's deemed to be indecent. It is also legal for women in a range of American states though plenty still outlaw.

'So I can go topless here in Kelowna?' Welbourne went on.

'Well, evidently,' Gray said. 'I'm not suggesting you should do that but I don't think you’d be committing any crime or breaking any bylaw.'

Welbourne went on to ask the mayor whether he was aware we are all naked under our clothes and whether he had any piercing and he replied in good humor.

How does a Prime Minister manage to maintain decency and dignity in a beach as crowded as this?

The 47-year-old UK Prime Minister, David Cameron was pictured in the above pictures enjoying his foutth holiday of the year in a beach.

Highly simplistic of him...or what do you think? More photos after the cut:

A Moroccan newscaster was on a live broadcast on the Medi 1 television channel recently when her daughter appeared on the screen, tapped her on the shoulder and tried to hand her a smart phone.

A professional, Lena Alwash managed to maintain composure, responding with only a faintly raised eyebrow and a shake of the head before continuing as if nothing happened.
Footage of the broadcast showed the little daughter backing away upon the realization of the fact that her mum was on air.

According to the Washingtonpost (2008), President Truman called him Gene. President Ford who happened to be his birthday mate liked to talk golf with him. He saw eight presidential administrations come and go, often working six days a week. “I never missed a day of work,” Allen says.

His is a story from the back pages of history; a figure in the tiniest of print. The man in the kitchen -he was there while America’s racial history was being remade: Brown v. Board of Education, the Little Rock school crisis, the 1963 March on Washington, the cities burning, the civil rights bills, the assassinations.

He was fond of all the eight families he served but was fond of president J.F Kennedy the most. According to his son, Charles Allen, the first day he saw his father cry was the day president J.F Kennedy was assassinated.

This highly respected butler was able to keep the secrets of these presidents and even refused to sell his story despite numerous requests from various bodies. 'The Butler', starring Oprah Winfrey as Helene, is presently one of the most anticipated movies.I definitely can not wait to catch a glimpse of what Eugene's life in the Whitehouse as a butler must have been like!

FashionANOTHER WONDER BRA: Undo Your Bra By Simply Clapping by ganase2(op): 2:04pm On Aug 19, 2013
Wonderful, isn't it? A San Francisco designer has created a bra that can be undone simply by clapping. The advantage? No more neck twisting and hand stretching all in a bid to reach the bra hooks that usually are the back. And especially guys that find it hard to remove the bra of their women easily....*wink**

Designed by Randy Safaran, the battery-powered design uses an electromagnet that controls a switch which opens the clasp of the bra when someone claps nearby. According to Safaran, she was motivated by the weird and wonderful hi-tech bras found in Syrian bazaars.

He also included step-by-step procedures on how to make a personal one:

*Cut the clasp off of the bra. Carefully break open the casing for the relay to expose the electromagnet.

*Put your relay into the centre of a prototype circuit board and make cut marks around the outline of the relay. Cut two prototype circuit boards to size.

*One board should have a 1/4 trimmed off of each long end, such that you are a left with a long strip.

*The other board should be cut to a small square using the markings you made in the outline of the relay.

*Put together the circuit using the 28-pin socket in place of the ATMEGA168 chip.

*Cut the ends off a USB cable to leave a section of cable roughly 6” to 8” long.

*Cut a small bow-tie shaped section of fabric that will fold over the front of the bra – the part the clamp is attached to.

*In the centre of this bow-tie cut a small opening and fasten a grommet.

*Insert a bolt through the grommet from the back towards the front and fasten it with a nut.

And that's it...!

But, if the bra will be undone by clapping, please don't wear it to church....! Hehehe...

Art, Graphics & VideoArtist Preserves Pregnant Bellies In Casts & Turns Them To Works Of Art by ganase2(op):
Pregnant women are often told they are at their most beautiful when they are expecting. And, of course, their bump is protecting very precious cargo.

And now they can preserve the image of their bump for posterity as a pair of British bodycasters launch a company offering sculptures of baby bumps for women to keep forever.

Sculptor couple CJ Munn and Andre Masters, both 40 from Maidstone in Kent, use special effects make-up to help make the bumps, and their intricate designs range from blue and white florals painted like china, to stone sculptures studded with mirrors or a more traditional bronze.

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/14/article-2392735-1B494BB5000005DC-512_306x423.jpg

The couple worked in television and film before they started creating the baby-bump casts as a hobby for friends.

Speaking about the casts, which can be rendered in traditional plaster, more elaborate stone and even bronze, Andre said: 'We believe our belly casts are some of the most beautiful in existence in the world.

'Coming from such diverse creative backgrounds we work in so many different materials and we love being challenged to try new things.

'So what you'll see in our pictures is that every single belly cast we make is unique and utterly special to the owner of that piece.

'We love really personal requests where people will have us engrave or paint a piece with personal symbols or patterns - perhaps inspired by something to do with their home or family heritage.

RomanceMUST READ: Weird But Funny Phobias by ganase2(op): 2:36pm On Aug 13, 2013
Let's go the way of social intelligence. I mean, I never knew there were weird but funny phobias as these till I came across this list. Like we know, phobia means excessive fear...do have yourself a good laugh as we go through this one...!

Clinomania is the excessive desire to lay in bed all day.

A parthenophobic is someone who fears virgins.

Didaskaleinophobia is the fear of school.

Anuptaphobia is the fear of staying single or being "forever alone

Nomophobia (no-mobile-phone phobia) is the fear of being without your cellphone or losing your signal.

"Pisanthrophobia" is the fear of trusting people due to bad past experiences.

If you are scared of time moving forward, you probably have Chronophobia.

While...if you're scared you don't have enough biceps as Inyanya, you definitely have Bigoreria!

Actually, I think everyone has Clinomania every Monday morning *big smile...and if I can guess which other phobia that we all are susceptible to in this digital age...it is nomophobia!

Celebrities"Oprah's A Liar" - Sales Assistant Replies Oprah Winfrey by ganase2(op): 1:43pm On Aug 13, 2013
In case you missed out on the gist, this is how it all happened:

Oprah Winfrey had been in a bag store in Switzerland to buy a bag to match the outfit she was going to wear to old friend, Tina Turner's wedding.

In what she called a racist encounter on American TV, she claimed that the sales assistant at the store (Sonntags Blick, who obviously did not know her as Oprah the Celebrity)
thought the luxury 25,000 pound bag was too expensive for her to buy and refused to show it to her. According to her, she refused to show her the black crocodile leather bag because - seeing a black woman - she automatically assumed she would not be able to afford it.

Now the saleslady has hit back, stating that "Oprah is a liar" and that the the racism allegation was an assumption on her part. Here's what she said in an interview:

"I wasn't sure what I should present to her when she came in on the afternoon of Saturday July 20...so I showed her some bags from the Jennifer Aniston collection. I explained to her the bags came in different sizes and materials, like I always do.

"She looked at a frame behind me. Far above there was the 35,000 Swiss franc crocodile leather bag. I simply told her that it was like the one I held in my hand, only much more expensive, and that I could show her similar bags."

She however commented on what she would do if she saw Oprah. "I would apologize and say it was all a misunderstanding. I surely did not intentionally want to insult Ms. Winfrey. I hope this nightmare ends soon", she said.

PoliticsASUU STRIKE: Students Plan To Block All Roads In Mass Protests by ganase2(op): 8:17am On Aug 13, 2013
In an effort to highlight the canker-worms plaguing the Nigerian public education system, university students are said to be planning a mass protest in which all roads, especially in the South West zone, will be blocked.

The protest which was organized by the Joint Action Front (JAF) will kick off at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) office at Yaba, Lagos at 8 a.m. It will also include zonal rallies in Kano, Ibadan, Owerri, Calabar, Abuja, among others.

According to JAF, the aim of the protest is to draw attention to the bleak future that awaits Nigerian children due to the neglect of public education, “while children of top politicians and government officials are trained in private schools in Nigeria and abroad with funds looted from public coffers.”

It will be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had, on July 2, declared an indefinite strike over unresolved issues contained in the 2009 FG/ASUU Agreement.

My sincere hope is that if policemen and soldiers are deployed to caution the students, they should be sane ones....in other words, there should be no indiscriminate shooting of Nigerian students who are fighting for their future...!

The companies have also agreed to joint marketing efforts to showcase BBM for Android to customers and to mobile users across Africa.

CrimeRobbers Return Stolen Computers With Apology Letter (PHOTO) by ganase2(op): 7:39am On Aug 13, 2013
Burglars who broke into a non-profit organization in California returned the computers they stole, once they realized that they were from a team of people that helped victims of sexual violence. Not only this, they also accompanied the stolen goods with an emotion-evoking heartfelt apology.

The thieves had broken into the San Bernardino County Sexual Assault Services office on the night of July 31 and within minutes, six computers with hard drives, a laptop and a bag of valuables were taken.

The nest morning, the Executive Director of the organization arrived work the next morning, only to meet a big surprise:all stolen items returned.

"All my stuff was in front of the door," she told the station. "There was a shopping cart, and there were the PCs that were taken, there was the laptop. Everything was there", she said.

There was also a note in the laptop which read; "We had no idea what we were takeing [sic]. Here your stuff back. We hope that you guys can continue to make a difference in peoples [sic] live. God bless."

BusinessMoney Laundering: Uk Fines Gtb 500,000 Pounds! by ganase2(op): 2:09pm On Aug 12, 2013
The UK subsidiary of the Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) was recently fined over £500,000 for failing to do thorough anti-money laundering checks on its potential clients from high-risk countries.

Specifically, the Financial Control Authority of the UK said in a statement that it had levied a £525,000 fine (about N73m) on the bank after it looked at the bank's anti-money laundering controls and realized that it was not rigorous enough in pressing potential customers on their sources of wealth.

It will be recalled that one of such UK banks, the First African Bank, was one of the two banks used by the former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, in the money laundering investigation of him.

Reacting to the fine, the Managing Director of GTB's UK unit, Mr. Ade Adebiyi, was quoted as saying, "We have fully co-operated with the FCA in its investigation and we have accepted the findings."

Hmnnn...such a stringent measure...I only hope that jobs were not lost on the matter...!

FashionMAGIC LOTION: Slimming Cream Now Available! by ganase2(op): 9:48am On Aug 12, 2013
This is how the magic cream is being reported!

Smear a blob of the latest wonder slimming cream into flabby thighs or a spreading stomach and then just watch the weight melt away. Any scientific proofs of results, no...not in the least!

Notwithstanding, women, British especially, spend up to £30 million a year on topical ‘fat burning’ products – with prices ranging from a tenner to as much as about £100.

On the average, women who have used the creams lost one inch, another- half while yet another gained two inches more.

Funny enough, in an assessment of women who had been using expensive slimming creams and those in a control experiment using cheap slimming creams (made of paraffin and lanolin), it was found that the women using the cheap cream lost the most inches.

In a Daily Mail interview, Dr David Ashton, medical director of Healthier Weight Centres said, ‘There is absolutely no evidence to suggest a cream could dissolve fat – and this blind test, as unscientific as it is, shows these expensive products are just hope in a jar.

Another doctor, John Ashworth, agreed saying: ‘If anything were to have an effect on the testers’ weight, it could be the act of massage itself. Massage might break down the fibrous tissue that holds this fat in place and the fat would be dispersed. But it wouldn’t really matter what cream you used. Repetitive massage encourages the lymph glands to flush out excess fluid, which might also have a slimming effect.

Wonder creams...Science or bluff...?....Just a case of what we wouldn't mind to do just to lose weight...!

CrimeGuard On Rescue Mission Allegedly Kills Boss In Error by ganase2(op): 6:57am On Aug 12, 2013
A 30-year-old security guard, Segun Salami, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his boss, Alhaji Taiyewo Awolesi.

A resident of Ewuowa in the Ikorodu area of the state, Salami was said by the Police to have, in a bid to rescue his boss who was being harrassed by thugs, shot him in error.

However, he refutes the claim saying that his boss had been shot by the thugs even before his own gun was brought out. Read his account as he told Punch reporters:

“I am a security guard in the neighbourhood and I am also a bricklayer at a cemetery in the area. A telecoms company is constructing a mast on Alhaji’s (Awolesi’s) property and he called me to help him to do some work.

“After I had completed the work, he gave me N500 and I left. I was on my way to the cemetery when I started hearing gunshots.

“Alhaji called me on the telephone, saying I should come to his rescue because touts were harassing him for money because of the mast being constructed on his land. I went to get my locally made gun, put some gun powder in it and rushed back to Alhaji’s land which is very close to the cemetery.”

“I strapped the gun to my back and was attempting to disperse the thugs when someone shot Alhaji. Immediately after Alhaji fell to the ground, all the hoodlums fled. I tried to get him to a hospital but he died on the way.”

Salami's wife gave birth to a baby boy two weeks ago but he wasn't licensed to own
a gun in the first place. He however claims the gun was passed on to him by his grandfather and was used to hunt birds.
