By now, most fans know there's trouble in paradise for Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna and his wife, Sonia Morales but unfortunately, it appears they have still not completely settled the problem. Legit.ng earlier shared the reaction of Ogbonna to his wife travelling solo and flaunting her ring-less finger on social media.
For the first time, the actor has opened up about the issue to media personality, Daddy Freeze. Chatting with the leader of Free the Sheeple Movement recently, IK stated that 'no marriage is perfect.' He went further to address the problem he has with his wife and said: “Even if we have issues like every relationship has, I feel like when we see one on one, we will sort them out. The thing I hate about Nigerians on marriage is that everyone tries to pretend like marriage is perfect. If you don’t fight with your wife, you are not in a relationship. No marriage is perfect. My wife is my best friend first. We might not agree on everything but we are true friends.”
From his tone, it appears Ogbonna is yet to see his wife since the problem that drove her out of her matrimonial home began. In fact, she's still currently enjoying herself abroad and sharing killer photos on the gram.
It however appears IK Ogbonna wants his woman back. In the chat with Daddy Freeze, the father of one recounted how he met his wife after they had been talking on Instagram for a few months. He revealed that he was completely broke when she first visited him in Nigeria.
He said: “ I was stark broke when she came. I had just finished paying my rent and my account was red. I remember I borrowed like N10k from Adunni Ade. I used N5k to fuel the car to go to the airport. I had to buy Indomie (noodles) and a crate of eggs. I thought I was going to lose her.”
To his surprise, she stuck with him and even stayed in Nigeria for few more months and returned pregnant.
"At some point, I had to tell her that I am a hustling guy. I am just someone that believes in myself. She asked me one question; do I look like someone that wants to marry a broke person?. Then she said the second she saw me, she knew I was destined for something great. I had goosebumps, and instantly I knew she was my wife.” he said.

LAGOS, Nigeria — Authorities in Nigeria are releasing hundreds of people accused of supporting an Islamic extremist group, citing a lack of evidence.
Salihu Othman Isah, a special adviser to Nigeria’s attorney general, said in a statement Sunday that 475 suspects will be sent to rehabilitation instead of facing trial.
They are among the more than 1,000 suspected Boko Haram members whose trials began last Monday at a military barracks in the central Nigerian town of Kainji.
The suspects were accused of belonging to Boko Haram or for concealing information about the group.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari recently said the era of Boko Haram terrorism “is gradually drawing to end.” However, the group continues to launch suicide bombing attacks in the country’s northeast and its leader remains at large.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - Militants killed around 100 Nigerian soldiers in an attack on an army base on Sunday, security sources said on Thursday, blaming Islamic State West Africa.
The toll is among the highest since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power in 2015 and it could raise pressure on him ahead of an election in February, not least because he has claimed victory over the nine-year insurgency.
The insurgents attacked the base in the village of Metele in northeastern Borno state, the epicentre of a revolt by Boko Haram and its Islamic State splinter group.
“The insurgents took us unawares,” said an officer who requested anonymity. “The base was burned with arms and we lost about 100 soldiers. It is a huge loss.”
Many troops are missing, the sources said. One soldier said more troops were killed on Tuesday when an attempt to recover bodies from the initial attack was ambushed.
“We all flew because we didn’t know where the bullets were coming from,” he said. “They killed some of us who went to evacuate the bodies of the killed soldiers.”
“We left our amour, tanks and weapons. They were all there. The village is still under their control.”
Four security sources said around 100 died in Metele and the death toll was not final. The fifth said 96 died in the northeast in recent days, mostly in Metele.
The senate, which is controlled by the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday suspended its session in honour of what it said were 44 dead soldiers after the Metele attack.
Opposition presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, who is Buhari’s main rival, called on the government to support the families of dead soldiers.
A presidency spokesman said the military would issue a statement. Military spokesmen did not respond to requests for comment. The government and military often decline to acknowledge the scale of losses in the northeast.
Militants have killed hundreds of soldiers in the region in recent months.

The Buhari administration appears to be unsure of how much it met in the recovery account run by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu in the last one week gave Nigerians at least two different figures on how much the EFCC had in the account when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office on May 29, 2015.
The anti-graft office keeps recovered loots in a separate account. The agency also keeps assets under forfeitures or those already forfeited to the Nigerian government.
Mr Buhari has boasted he has done better than former President Goodluck Jonathan in tackling corruption, but his officials have for several months fumbled on questions seeking specific figures to back the administration’s claims.
Earlier this year, former finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, questioned claims of recovered loot bandied by Ibrahim Magu, the acting head of the EFCC.
Ms Adeosun said there was no evidence to back Mr Magu’s claim that hundreds of billions had been recovered from suspected looters, suggesting that the anti-corruption chief had exaggerated figures.
But aggregating the amount recovered in the three and a half years Mr Buhari has been in office appears to be a key challenge confronting the administration.
While attempting to play up the anti-corruption credentials of the administration this week, Mr Shehu contradicted himself on two occasions, making it difficult for Nigerians to know the truth.
“By the time President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in and took office, the only amount in the anti corruption recovery account over 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was only two billion Naira (N2 bn). This account has succeeded in netting over four hundred billion Naira (N400 bn) as of today, translating to 1,360 percent increase,” Mr Shehu said in a November 21 response to former British foreign secretary for international development, Priti Patel.
Ms Patel had criticised the Buhari government’s sincerity in fighting corruption, especially its handling of the country’s external obligations and seeming bias in prosecution of corruption cases.
Barely two days later on November 24 (Thursday), the amount jumped to N19.5 billion when Mr Shehu again pushed back against allegation of corruption which Mr Jonathan levelled against Mr Buhari in his new book, ‘My Transition Hours.’
“As at 29th May 2015, when this administration came into office, the EFCC recovery account had only N19.5 billion as revealed by the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General.
“After one year of the new anti-corruption drive by the Buhari administration, this figure had gone up to N279 billion, and since then a lot more has been recovered,” Mr Shehu said.
The disparity lies with the amount Mr Shehu claims Mr Buhari met (N2 billion and N19.5 billion) in May 2015.
While the amount he claimed the government had raised do not also match, that could be excused since he said N279 billion was the amount recovered after about one year in office, while the N400 billion is for about three years into the administration.
Mr Shehu did not return PREMIUM TIMES’ requests seeking comments Thursday evening.

Abuja — The 11 electricity distribution companies (Discos) in Nigeria's electricity market Tuesday accused the federal government of lying on its claims of improvement in power generation in the country, stressing that generation capacity as at January 2015 was 6,421 megawatts (MW) and not 4,000MW as often claimed by the government.
The operators also took a swipe at the federal government for asking them to either upgrade their efficiency levels in the market or quit the stage, saying that such orders would not stop the imminent collapse of the electricity sector.
Speaking through the Executive Director, Research and Advocacy of their umbrella association, Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED), Mr. Sunday Oduntan, the Discos explained that the government has largely created more confusion in the operations of the country's electricity sector, than it had helped it.
Reacting to the government's claims that power generation had peaked to 7,000MW since President Muhammadu Buhari came into office in May 2015, Oduntan explained that as at January 2015, Nigeria already had close to that generation figure.
He also described as false, the government's repeated claim that an excess generation of 2,000MW was idle.
He said: "A review of NERC's "Daily Energy Watch" for January 28, 2015 would indicate a generation availability of 6,421MW - divided into peak of 4,230MW and constrained energy of 2,191MW. In other words, it is misleading to state that available generation has grown from 4,000MW in 2015, as a measure of progress, given that a volume of generation slightly under 7,000MW already or previously existed, prior to the beginning of this administration.
"Furthermore, there is no stranded 2,000MW. While there is an available capacity of 7,000MW, the best that can be generated, at this time, is 5,000MW. This is because there is insufficient gas to power the thermal plants due to gas line limitations - for instance, the non-completion of the Oben pipeline, and the absence of a commercial framework that would encourage gas exploration."
According to him, generation that is constrained by gas amounts to an average 1,500MW daily, adding that 25 out of 28 generation plants are fuelled by gas.
He explained that transmission grid frequency, line limitation and water management made up the difference of the balance 500MW of constrained generation.
He added: "In simple terms, the often-advertised and pronounced Disco limitation to take on 2,000MW of additional generation is not consistent with the facts or reality. This, therefore, shows that very little has actually changed contrary to the minister's constant pronouncements.
"It is with much regret that we feel compelled to respond to the significantly distorted picture that has been painted of the Discos by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing (Mr. Babatunde Fashola), in his press briefing of Monday, July 9, 2018."
He said the challenges of the Nigerian Electricity Industry (NESI) could not be turned around based on a culture of misrepresentation, adding that the Discos had declined to rebut previous inaccurate assertions by the minister and other government functionaries in good faith.
He said the ministers' recent pronouncement was a clear attempt to demonise the Discos, who by the structure of NESI, are the faces of a difficult sector.
Oduntan, in an interaction with journalists in Abuja Tuesday, also faulted the government's order to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) through Fashola, to get them to buckle down or shape up, adding that no amount of government's order would correct the failings of the sector, which they added would lead to its collapse.
He further said: "We are also left wondering whether such demonisation of the Discos is camouflage for the absence of the effective policy leadership that is desired for implementing the enabling environment that is necessary for the viability and sustainability of NESI?
"We recognise that we are on the crux of a political season, in which all manner of advantage is being sought by political contenders, we however do not want to be used as the whipping dog to advance other people's agenda."
He stated: "Our members, the Discos, are not politicians, even though they distribute a product that is of great importance to politicians, in view of the needs of their constituents. Our constituency which consists of customers, employees, bankers, vendors and investors have a greater interest in improved service delivery than the adoption of cheap theatrics and propaganda for political advantage."
He noted the Discos were committed to their obligations, as well as meeting the performance obligations of the agreement that they have with the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE).
He also stated that the Ministry of Power had taken away the independence of the NERC by constantly imposing on it orders to execute in the sector.
