why are nigerians always complaining. . .Nigeria is in the D8 because we have one of the largest Muslim populations on earth. . .And the D8 is an economic development alliance of nations with large Muslim populations. . .In other words, we are teaming up with the other 7 nations to help with economic developement. . .there are many alliances like these. . .other alliances are based on population, size, location, GDP, etc. . .this economic alliance is based on religion. . .and in my opinion, the more alliances you have the better you shall become (friends helping friends) . . .and so what if GEJ (Christian) is there. . .he is a president and the Chief Diplomat of Nigeria. . .he represents Nigeria/Nigerians to foreign countries. . .and the last time i checked Muslims in Nigeria are Nigerians |
Ribadu is a good choice for the AC. But I dont think he would Win, He needs to either run with some else as president or VP. and that person that I'm thinking of is Donald Duke. . .Hopefully they can work thing out. . .change parties ![]() Donald Duke/ Ribadu lolDonald duke is the only person running for president that actually has a RESUME aka Calabar (Cross-river state). . .calabar is nigeria's cleanest, safest, least corrupt and best organized cities. with one of nigeria's best infrastructure, crossriver state is the number one tourist destination in Nigeria. . .and all that was possible becuase of Donald Duke. . .the other people who are running for the 2011 presidential race dont really have a "resume" of what the have accomplished for the good of nigerians. lol what can i say. . .I like the guy http://www.donalddukeorganisation.org/vision.php |
in 2007 obama earned $4.2 Million from his books sales. even though american presidents earn $400,000 a year, they will still have bank accounts in the millions because they can literally sell and invest in anything due to the popularity. these nigerian politicians on the other hand, I have no comment. . .but i would love to see a source of were you got the stats from. . .you cant really compare Nigerian politicians to american politicians. . .american political jobs come's with many benefits and advantages while Nigerian politicians would have to buy those benefits and advantages. . .hence the difference in salaries. |
Benin and its glittering water fountain THE renewed Benin King Square in the Edo State capital, popularly known as Ring Road, has been demystified.http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=62223:benin-and-its-glittering-water-fountain-&catid=42:commune&Itemid=796 |

I have been on this site for a while and i realized that there are no avatars and users cant PM, why cant we have avatars and PM? |
I understand what your saying were the info is coming from but i think the info is 100% true. Eko Atlantic is an infrastructure project and not a "real estate development". the project is about infrastructure and thats it, infrastructure. here is an excerpt from an article titled Scramble for N413b Lagos Atlantic city "The infrastructure to be provided on the Eko Atlantic City comprise an international standard road network, dedicated electrical power generation plant and underground distribution, surface water drainage, water supply treatment plant and distribution mains, sewage collection mains and a modern treatment plant, network of service ducts to provide Information Technology (IT) services and post-construction maintenance and management of the facility. The development types envisaged in the proposed city include family entertainment centres, water-based entertainment and recreation centres, Marina Development and Boat Club, theme parks, upscale commercial, office, retail and residential property, office parks, shopping malls, beach and recreational park development, hotels, guest houses, club houses, resorts and conference, event and exhibition facilities."so the 3 billion is for the entire project because the entire project is basically infrastructure. but i'm with you that we need links to some serious info but its just that we can find/ they dont have them. http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2658:scramble-for-n413b-lagos-atlantic-city&catid=50:business-news&Itemid=708 |
he says that the project cant cost less than 100 Billion. but I say that it does. it cost 3 billion. the infrastructure, reclaiming land & road, will coast 3 Billion. thats the project, the infrastructure. the high rises will come from other investor to build. |
@Onlytruth here is what I know based on the data i found. . .Eko Atlantic will cost around $3 billion and is 820 hectares. eko atlantic cost is based on infrastructure such as dredging, land reclamation, sea wall, roads etc. eko atlantic INFRASTRUCTURE according to articles will be completed by 2015. the developers are building the basic infrastructure with the 3 billion and not the highrises. other investors would build their own buildings and not the developer. the only highrise the developers are building are the Financial District complex. I think that you think that this project is like the ones in dubai were the developers would spend something like 30 billion to build every thing including the skyscrapers. but in reality its the investors that are the ones that are going to build the buildings of eko atlantic while the developer provides the land.overall by 2030 eko atl;antic would be full completed with highrise etc. |
@ paddy_lo lol good advice |
Onlytruth:but in the same "sketchy youtube" videos they said that their are phases. . .the entire project is set for a 2030 completion date. that article posted said 2015 . the first phase of development as stated in does "sketchy youtube" videos and articles says that land reclamation is the first phase of development. who every wrote that article was talking about land reclamation and not the whole project. |
Onlytruth:The first sentence of the article said, "$3b Eko Atlantic City project targets 2015 completion date" . . .so how is what i posted wrong? and they said redevelopment scheme because they are redeveloping bar beach into the world class city known as eko atlantic, you may have heard about . they are extending bar beach duh. . .and redevelopment scheme is any new construction on a site that has pre-existing uses.whats with all the questions. . . are you any of those things. . .if not you shouldn't be talking either. |
The African Manhattan https://www.hollandtrade.com/htddocs/11/HTDDoc11145_bestanden/image002.jpg
Eko Atlantic City will soon be the largest and fastest-growing city in West Africa. Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria and the economic heart of West Africa, is facing numerous transport problems and is bursting at the seams. In order to keep pace with urban and economic growth, something had to be done, and where better to find the answer than in the Netherlands? Royal Haskoning put forward the design for a combined seawall and land reclamation project in the form of the Urban and Transport Design Master Plan for Eko Atlantic City. This new city will be a business centre off the coast of Lagos, with high-quality residential and working areas and recreational facilities, which also guarantees the safety of its 400,000 inhabitants and the expected 200,000 daily commuters. This new ‘Manhattan’ will have four cross-channel connections with the Nigerian mainland. The entire island is due to be fully operational by 2030.
http://www.hollandtrade.com/sector-information/infrastructure/?bstnum=3578&more=news&PageIndex=1 |
Kobojunkie: Onlytruth:That just proves to you that the $3 billion is for dredging/land reclamation. you guys are actually confusing your selves. do you actually think that the project that is 2 mile long and 7 miles wide and 8,200,000 square metres is going to be completed by 2015. its the dredging that is going to be completed by that time. this project will start seeing construction of buildings by next year and construction of buildings, roads, pipes, power, waterways, etc will continue to 2030 (see article on next post). eko atlantic would be built in phases so as the years progress parts of the project would be opened and by 2030 all phases would be completed. |
btw did you guys notice how good lagos looks. . .wow |
