DA42 MPP makes belly-landing at Benin Airport A Diamond Twin Star (DA42 MPP, registered 5N-BKS), operating as a light surveillance aircraft for PICOMSS, made a gear-up landing at its base, Benin Airport, this afternoon. No one was hurt in the incident. The airport was closed for some time but has re-opened. http://nigerianaviation./2012/07/05/da42-mpp-makes-belly-landing-at-benin-airport/ https://i48.tinypic.com/2ntvl76.jpg.... |
Apparently It was a Military Trainer Aircraft that Landed. The plane did not crash but landed safely on its belly. Also this type of aircraft is fairly new, so for it to have a landing gear problem is surprising. |

In no particular order Abuja Lagos Calabar Uyo Enugu PH Dutse Bauchi [East] Obudu [Vacation hub] |
Anderson Cooper is more of a man than many Talk about misplaced priorities, discussing about a man 3000 miles way when your local officials are robbing you blind. Watch this turn into a typical NL 30 page anti gay thread based on nonsense and rubbish while other threads about corruption get less than a page |
What constitute development is if the area has high per capita income [everyone has real jobs with real income], general standard of living [health care, leisure, security etc] , Every form of widespread infrastructure [drainage, streets, water pipelines, waste pipelines, electric generation and distribution] and level of industrialization [factories, businesses, trade etc]. You need all of these to be consider developed. If you only have 1 or 3 or if your city only has particle and not widespread infrastructure then you are not develop. The only city that comes close to being 100% develop is Calabar [75%] followed closely by Uyo [70%]. Lagos comes in third with 40% development while Enugu in fourth with about 35% of the city developed. The remain cities are below 20% development in my opinion. Yes you can show me a good picture of one part of the city but the fact remain the city has a whole is not developed. |
Beaf: Definitely not true. Biafra manufactured several amoured vehicles:Then in that case I retract my statement but i still stand on what i said about the vehicles in the pictures being British. |
tonyfrenzy: Nigerian army can perform better. D ones produced by d Biafran soldiers were at least ok, even during war. See below...Biafra did not manufacture any APC, LAV or tanks. The APC Biafra had in their military were the same ones Nigeria stationed in the eastern region before the war. The same ones Nigeria Bought from the British prior to the beginning of the war. The vehicles in your picture is a British made Alvis Saladin [left] and the other one is a British made Alvis Saracen I [right]. leastpay: Don't 4get biafrans were d 1st 2 build a locally made APc .Read Above, Biafra did not create anything. I still to this day dont understand why you guys like cooking up stories. What APC did Biafra build? |
Chichilas: Why are there no casualties? How can tens of thugs open fire on a convoy, riddle cars with bullets and yet, nobody dies? Story is fictitious.Since he is a governor I would assume that all the vehicles in that convoy are bullet proof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhESTArcrJY&feature=relmfu |
I believe they rebranded, they are no longer just a Nigerian news channel. They supposable are going to become an inter-continental news channel covering major news events throughout africa, kinda like bbc world news. I think they are going to relaunch the channel later on.....Also from what I understand is that CNN is the primary funder of the channel so i dont believe they are short on cash like some have said. |
Bomb Bomb Bomb Haram.... But on a serious note the main problem with nigeria is not the actual problem [boko haram] but preventing it from happening again. What the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Nigeria has been at war with boko haram over the years and has kill numerous members but yet boko haram is getting stronger and has more members. Nigeria can keep fighting boko haram with tanks and guns but it doesn't escape from the fact that boko haram is still recruiting and getting more members. What nigeria needs to do is win over those potential "boko haram" recruits by given them their basic needs. If those future recruits had jobs, a proper education, access to health and reduced poverty I know that they wont be fighting right now, its all about joblessness. Once nigeria stops boko haram from recruiting new members then the government can easily kill all the existing member, knowing that new ones will not take their place. |
uzomagic: Another blatant display of ignorance. Did you not observe that the panelists were drawn from various media houses? Is the Maupe Ogun of the popular "sunrise daily" fame on Channels tv also an NTA staff? I'm embarrassed. werepeLeri: Abeg - who told you they are all NTA people? Biko.I said NTA guys because I didn't want to list all their names and media houses they represent. thats why I said NTA guys to summaries the people asking the question. Second, that must mean you agree with the rest of what I said since the only thing you can find wrong with my statement was the word "nta" |
To be truthful i found it troubling that he "told a story" to answer every question, even the simple yes or no ones. I was expecting short, brief and to the point answers in response to challenging questions. It didn't feel like a presidential Q&A but rather a "presidential social chat room". Why cant Nigeria media grill the president the same way foreign media grills Obama, David Cameron etc. they basically asked him a question and let GEJ answer it without any rebuttals, follow up questions or opposition views. All the NTA people did is nod their head and move on to the next question. The whole point of this "media chat" was to Task the president and hold him accountable on what he has done since office. as far as i'm concerned these NTA guys failed. |
They lost the call because PHCN seized they guys light.... anyway he is making some good points so far |
nepa take light they start rioting lol....i feel of my chair laughing ![]() |
tiarabubu: http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/Details_of_the_President_Reno_Visit_Released_151004235.htmlThe article you posted didn't say airspace was closed, they said airspace may be restricted. Meaning the airspace is prohibited from entering unless an aircraft has permission. So what I believe the article is saying is that those who are flying VFR or for sport will be restricted from the space but those who are fly IFR or have ATC radio clearance can fly. Also they didn't say the entire airport terminal will be shut down, they said the cell phone waiting lot will be closed, which is a parking area. Also Falana didn't say president he said VIP, so i'm not sure why your posting these articles about Obama |
The only way you can loose weight is either by exercising or starvation [diet]. Pills, black magic and other remedies wont work. But the best and fastest way to loose weight is by excising. If you starve yourself your body will go into starvation mode and it will hold on to the fat longer because its our biological survival response. Best way to loose weight is to eat healthy while exercising at the same time. |
oddy4real: would you just hold it! It is the practice everywhere in the world that whenever there is VIP movement in the airport, then no other plane can land. Go and ask if another plane can land in the USA if Obama is landing. And this didn't start with GEJ. U don't have to find a way to link him to every imbroglioactually thats false, atleast regarding the USA. In America we dont close of airspace just for the president or government officials to land. They may clear a holding pattern or an approach pattern for the aircraft but they wont close the airport or the airspace of that airport just for a VIP. Even when Obama and other international leaders came to New york for the United Nations Summit they did not close down any airspace or the airports. Commercial airliners were landing and taking off at JFK, La Guardia, Newark international etc before, during and after the UN summit. America does have restricted airspace, such as over the white house, over a military base and a few kilometers around airforce one [during flight] but they never closed down an airport's airspace. Even when GEJ and other world leaders went to Canada for the G-8 summit, that airport's airspace wasn't shut down. you can see in the background that commercial airliners and flights are still operating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fURauetkIGE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmTJf1_RW04&feature=relmfu |

In order to make any state or LG productive you first have to get rid of the ones that dont work. If your leg dies and is unusable the doctor will cut it off because it is pointless and will only drag you back. That is the same thing with the states and LGAs. Nigeria has created so many states and LGAs that many of them have become a liability and are just pointless. Nigeria's main problem is not really corruption but rather the larger unnecessary size of government. We currently have 6 LGAs governing an area in which 1 single lga can do with ease. so the budget that should be going to one large LGAs is now divided up and given to 6 LGAs. Mind you that means 6 times the salaries paid because each new LGA has to have a chairman, ministers, commissioners etc. Thats also means less money for roads, schools, etcs and why LGAs today practically do nothing. All because we have divided LGAs up so much that all they can do with the little funds they have left is pay salaries. Its because of the large number of pointless governments in nigeria that we dont have the money to do simple things like build roads. I say we should reduce the number states and LGAs from 36 and 774 to a more reasonable amount that will not choke up our nations budget with pointless recurrent expenditures and government positions. Does nigeria really need 36 states and 774 LGAs? didn't nigeria progress when we had less states? You can talk about corruption and accountability all you want but it does not fix the fact that many LGAs have 90% recurrent expenditures and some states have 60% plus. Why? Because many off them are cancers that suck they nations budget dry with their pointless political positions/governments. I believe i gave this example in another forum, if you own a business and you know you only need 5 workers why would you hire 20 workers? So why should nigeria have 36 states and 774 LGAs when in the past we had 12 states and ~200 LGAs with no problem. |
Can someone explain to me how Islamic banking works? I understand that it is interest free but aren't these banks taking out loans from the central bank of nigeria like other banks do? Or are the Islamic banks taking out "special" interest free loans from the CBN? If they do take out special loans from the CBN does that make it fair to the other banks who have to pay interest? So in that chase how does the CBN cope with a bank who cant pay back interest to the Central bank of Nigeria? Does this mean the CBN will just give out money without any form of growth? thats not sustainable and is Thats just odd. |
