PoliticsRe: Power Generation Hit 4237MW On August 6th: Jonathan Transformation? by GAR3TH(m):
What many have to realize is that Nigeria produced 4000+MW in the past and though this is an improvement it is basically a drop of water in the ocean. So no, a minute increase like this is in no way shape or form going to bring any noticeable difference in power for a country of 160 million. If you are seeing an increase in power its most likely due to PHCN deciding were to distribute. Just so we can put things in perspective the Chairman of NERC said "nigeria currently needs 25,000 MW of daily electricity generation capacity to ensure constant and uninterrupted power supply". And the Energy Commission of Nigeria said " Nigeria needs 107,600MW to sustain Vision 20: 2020". And he continued saying, "Nigerian energy demand and supply projections covering 2005 to 2030, he said the country’s energy demand would hit 297,900MW by 2030". So for nigeria to have stable electricity from 2012 to 2030, we need to produce and extra 16,000mw per year to keep up with demand as nigeria grows and develops.

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Under-developed The north – Prof. Ango Abdullahi by GAR3TH(m): 6:18pm On Aug 08, 2012
Northern Nigeria combined receives more yearly revenue from oil allocation than many African and some European countries have in their yearly budget. So to say Northern Nigeria is marginalized is misleading, Northern Nigeria is under developed because of their northern leaders, no excuses, period.

As a matter of fact some southern states like Enugu get significantly less oil allocation than some northern state like Kano but yet Enugu far surpasses Kano in terms of development.
PoliticsRe: Power Generation Hit 4237MW On August 6th: Jonathan Transformation? by GAR3TH(m): 4:14am On Aug 08, 2012
Do get your hopes up just yet, the article stated that Electrical generation Spiked to 4237MW. It didnt say electric generation is stabilized at 4237MW. For those of you who dont know electricity generation fluctuates based on a number of factors. A better number to go by is the Average MW of electricity generated, which they did not announce.
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Adopts Own Flag, Coat Of Arms And Anthem by GAR3TH(m): 1:36am On Aug 08, 2012
Many states in nigeria and around the world already have their own flag, anthem and coat of arms. Its nothing new nor should this be alarming. If anything people should be surprise that after all these years bayelsa did not have a flag, coat of arms and anthem. This doesn't mean bayelsa is forming its own country nor does it mean nigeria is dividing. It just a way for bayelsa to represent her self.
SportsRe: Nigerians Representing Other Countries In The Olympics!! by GAR3TH(m): 8:43pm On Aug 06, 2012
Most of the people mentioned were born and raised abroad so its no surprised why they play for other countries and can careless for Nigeria. Anyway when it comes to sports it comes down to the individual not the nation. A nation can spend billions of dollars on sport and still fail at the Olympics. Just look at Argentina, they have a huge sporting budget that rivals that of Great Britain but so far they only have 1 Olympic medal(bronze) and on the other hand 3rd world Jamaica has a tiny sports budget with crappy facilities but yet produces the best athletes every Olympics. When it come to sports its the individual training of the individual athletes that matter and not the nation they represent.

Also, those athletes choose to represent other countries because, for most of them, thats the only nation they know. Why should they represent Nigeria when nigeria has no meaning to them. just because they have nigerian blood doesn't mean mentally they are nigerian.
PoliticsRe: Lagos, Kaduna, C’river, Ogun, Oyo Top Foreign Debtors’ List by GAR3TH(m): 7:02pm On Aug 04, 2012
Lagos debt is truly not that high. You have to look at it from a Debt-to-GDP ratio. Lagos debt is $500 million USD but its GDP is around $35-40 Billion USD. So lagos debt to GDP is about 1%. For the most part all states have a Debt-to-GDP ratio of around 1% which is healthy.

PoliticsRe: Southern States To Construct Lagos-Calabar Rail Line by GAR3TH(m): 5:08pm On Jul 31, 2012
manny4life: So in other words, we can both accept that though you've debunked the claim, the status quo remains the same- the ports are not up to standard for commercial operation? I mean barges have a limited depth and can ONLY move so much, therefore, there's room for complaints that not as if there isn't a port, but there isn't a full scale port with that has the ability to commence commercial shipping/operations..
True but you also have to understand that there are 5 or so deep sea ports only a couple of miles away. Even if the FG spends billions to make onitsha river port the worlds largest and advance, the simple fact that there are 5 deep sea ports not to far from onitsha will limit the amount of cargo it receives due to competition. People have to realize that though nigeria is a large country by population it is a small country by size. Also on a side note Lagos, warri, PH and onne ports are/will be connected to the rail system. so once imports arrive, the goods can just go on a train and travel to the SE, and that another thing Onitsha port has to compete with..
PoliticsRe: Southern States To Construct Lagos-Calabar Rail Line by GAR3TH(m): 4:33pm On Jul 31, 2012
manny4life: To what depth? Was it not same you who criticize the same river that it's depth was about 3m and could ONLY accommodate barges and boats, it could not handle mid size ships let alone container ships.

Yes, but I wasn't criticizing the port, I was criticizing the people who were saying that large cargo ships can dock there. That argument was to debunk the myth and proved that onitsha River port can only accommodate barges and ferries like other river ports.
PoliticsRe: Southern States To Construct Lagos-Calabar Rail Line by GAR3TH(m): 4:19pm On Jul 31, 2012
betrani: I'm so damn sure ur a yoruba man! why won't calabar be a dead town when all u sons of bitches! led by OBJ decided to cripple the town! ur political arsenal has prevented the port here working accompanied by the ceding of bakassi to the cameroonians! how would it work when u guys are scared of economic activities reducing in lagos! the dredging of the niger would have given onitsha much more than what it is today! the ibo man would just bipass lagos and bring his goods directly to onitsha! but ur political brothers have prevented this! I know this nonsense is only for a while so enjoy ur dominance while it lasts!
On the bold, I still dont know why people cry about this. Once again the lower niger delta has been dredge along time ago. If the Onitsha port is not utilized then why blame the government? The government has already refurbished the port and dredge the water way since the days of the yar'adua administration. Second onitsha is a river port and not a sea port, it cant handle large cargo ships. Third there are 3 ports (PH, Onne and calabar) that are only a couple of miles from the SE, not to mention of warri port which is also near by. So stop acting as if lagos is the only port in Nigeria!!!!!!!

@Topic, this is a great move by the southern governors. I dont understand why some people are talking about sea ports because it is alot more cheaper, quicker and more efficient to carry domestic good by rail that it is to carry them by sea or road. This will be an economic boast to the region.
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by GAR3TH(m): 10:25pm On Jul 30, 2012
Though the Installed Capacity of Nigeria has improved with the construction of new power plants, Power generation has still remained the same, Fluctuating between about 3000-4000MW. State and federal government did improve some Distribution and transmission electrical infrastructure but in reality most of the countries electrical infrastructure is yet to be fixed. If you are experiencing an increase in power its most likely because of PHCN deciding where to distribute power. Because power generation has pretty much remained the same.
PoliticsRe: Sarah Pane: GEJ Is The Most Insulted In The World - by GAR3TH(m): 6:19pm On Jul 29, 2012
The majority of what I see on social media is constructive criticism, Only about 5% of what I see are insults. To say GEJ is the most insulted in the world is laughable. Obama, George bush, Shimon Peres, Kim jon il, angela merkel, vladimir putin, mario monti, Karolos Papoulias, and many more get insulted waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than GEJ. In my opinion I think GEJ's camp just cant handle criticism. hell bush was the most insulted president in history but yet he or he's aides did not cry about it. Man Up
PoliticsRe: ₦8Bn For African First Ladies Secretariat Permanent Site by GAR3TH(m): 5:50pm On Jul 29, 2012
It doesn't matter where the funds come from, what matters is the simple fact that this project is a complete joke. What do first ladies in africa need a N8 billion naira secretariat building for? Their not politicians neither are they leaders. If this project was to better the lives of Africans [which its not] then why not invest directly to the masses. Why dont they use the money to build schools, roads, hospitals etc instead of wasting funds building a fake complex. As far as i'm concerned this project is a scam. They are better off renting space at a hotel than this ridiculous project.

TB Joshua can commit murder in broad daylight in front of crowds of people with cameras and you will still see people on Nairaland defending him.

He was caught in the act of editing a video. The evidence is right there but some people are over here telling story story excuses.

Also doesn't the bible say beware of false prophets, that him and those who are under his wings will perish for imitate god or something like that.

Nwogbe: Permement Secretary is a core civil service job & not a political office. Hope is now clearhuh
My point is that she shouldn't we working at another jobs when she already a first lady.
So much hatred for an innocent woman. We're talking about a mobile office, must she sit down in that office to please you all? Haba.
What hatred? No None is hating. I'm just confused as to why a First Lady is holding outside employment?

MyJoe: No, it's not. "First lady" is not a constitutional political office. She can pick up any job she likes. When Gen Abdusalam was Head of State, his wife was a high court judge.
Okay, I see now that nigeria is different from the rest of the world...it is not accustom for a first lady to hold outside employment
PoliticsRe: Patience Jonathan To Be Sworn In Perm Sec On Friday by GAR3TH(m): 12:47pm On Jul 19, 2012
Nigeria is now a complete joke. How can a first lady have two political jobs at the same time?

Its like being the deputy governor of lagos state and also at the same time work as the minister of finance in enugu state.

how can she possible do two jobs at once in two different locations?
PoliticsRe: Security Agents Demolish Makoko Waterfront Slum In Lagos by GAR3TH(m): 2:06pm On Jul 18, 2012
Sagamite: And your point is?
My point? I was just sharing a video of them actually demolishing makoko, nothing else.

Anyway, The government did the right thing by demolishing those illegal structures because they were a health hazard. As you could imagine all the body waste from that slum gets thrown into the lagoon in which they live with no proper sanitation. Eventually some of that waste flows downstream into some poor neighborhood or even a beach. But the main reason why I want them out is because makoko is an illegal structure. They have no right to live there nor do they have the right to buy fictional land or water from some 419 guys. And since these are illegal structures they shouldn't be compensated because what they did is against the law by building a house on someone else's property....yes its sad that they will have to start over but the law is the law and everyone must live by the rules, rich or poor.

PoliticsRe: FG To Borrow N633bn To Fund 2013 Deficit by GAR3TH(m): 2:18pm On Jul 17, 2012
They do realize that they can raise that money by cutting unnecessary overhead cost in government. For god sake 72% of the N4.7 trillion federal budget is recurrent expenditures. Why put the country in more debt when you can easily pay the deficit by cutting and stopping your corrupt ways.
PoliticsRe: New Igbo Group Vows To Avenge Killings In The North by GAR3TH(m): 1:53pm On Jul 12, 2012
"Biafra can only be achieved when we secure the support of the United States of America"

So in other words Biafra will never be achieved. There is no way the U.S.A. will fund a conflict that will cause speculators to raise the price of oil or even disrupt production.

Second why talk before action. Only in nigeria will someone go to the newspaper, go on radio and run tv ads that they will attack their enemy.

What ever happen to the element of surprisehuh
PoliticsRe: Group To Declare State Of Biafra Republic On Nov 5 by GAR3TH(m): 8:36am On Jul 11, 2012

PoliticsRe: 2, 000 Lagos ACN Members Defect To PDP by GAR3TH(m): 4:03am On Jul 09, 2012
They are all the same. If CPC wins lagos you will see all of them defect to CPC, If ANPP wins Enugu you will see them flock like birds.

Just goes to show you that many so called politicians don't care about the people but rather care about being the "winning" party.

By being in the "winning" party they are guaranteed to continue seating in office and collecting salary.

To me, he is just saying this so that NDLEA and himself can get more Funding from the government. Since when do you need drugs to commit suicide? If you are determine to die you will die regardless of drugs. Its their metal / psychological state of mind along with their ideology that drives them, not drugs.
