It could be any faulty suspension part or even an engine mount, get a trusted mechanic. If he tells you a particular part is bad and you are in doubt post pics of the part and we can help you here, for now there's not much we can do.

Marpol: No jerking. The problem is getting it out of park. Once I use the shift lock it moves seamlessly and the gear selection is good too.

There's a solenoid park release switch in the lever system that is either stuck or weak that's y its getting stuck in park, have it replaced or serviced and problem is solved. Please don't override the system permanantly so you don not accidently shift to reverse while in motion.

Coil bad causing jerking yes, coil damaging your ecm heard about it in extreem cases of over heating, where the coils crack and burst open.

If he is correct your continued use of the vehicle should have damaged your new ecm bu now.

kablooee: I don't think there's any way to know before mounting the engine so my advice is to go down to ladipo yourself and beg the seller to give you something reasonable. I repeat Beg, plead, kneel down if you have to. Forget the fact that you're paying for it.

Looks like a fuel pressure problem, but without the proper equipment you might just end up messing up your car. You said scanning no way? What does that mean. Help us help you, a detailed report on how the problem started and what has been done till present, including parts that have been changed.

Check for spark at the plugs if yes problem is most likely a fuel pressure problem, consider checking the fuel pump relay and fuel pump pressure before touching anything else.

ByfireByfire: I'm considering purchasing nissan Quest of within the years mentioned.
1.Why is it that it seems people avoid them.
2.Why are they cheap compared to other space wagon like Toyota Sienna.
3.Do they break down easily or have silly problems like the first generation murano.
I also noticed the same trend with nissan altima from say 98 to 2002.

I really don't know y people avoid the vehicle, but I know of three near my house that have been parked for a couple of years, I don't know much about the vehicle, a friend used to have one and the transmission failed at a point in time she had it replaced and continued using the vehicle.

But if every one is running I guess you should consider running too.

Sorry about the broken bolt, unforseen things like this tend to happen even when we are extreemly careful. There are 3 ways you can go about this.

1. Live with the CEL light and weld the leaver in place.

2.Apply more force, remove the leaver, change the park neutral switch with a working one (tested) and weld the leaver in place.

3. Replace the bolt (this will require droping the gearbox) and replace the park neutral switch.


If I were in your shoes I would opt for 2.

since its the rear i guess your brake shoes are sticking probably due to rusting from springs or cable or bad adjustments (too tight) try pulling the parking brakes(hand brakes) up and down a couple of times pull very high and let go. if it frees up your wheels go back to your mechanic and have it sorted out.

state exactly what was replace or serviced on your vehicle. hope the parking brakes are down? is it the front or rear that is stopping the car from moving?

Triska: Hello My good people,
i changed bushing and other things on my camry tiny light.
After driving from the mechanic shop to the house,i Parked and wanted to move out. Only to notice that my two back tyres have seized and were unable to move.
i tried moving but my brake pads started smelling and wont let me and all that.
since then, i have been unable to move the car.
Please what could be the cause of this and how do i resolve it?

a sharp police man on our naija roads will notice a difference from your certificate of ownership where the colour of vehicle is indicated.

to avoid embarrassment walk into any police station with your original papers and get a report stating that you intend to change the colour of your vehicle. it is free but you will have to buy paper and pen for like N500-1k depending on your bargaining power.

Btw Gazzuzz, Service Engine Soon is used by Nissan for MIL, which is the Check Engine for some other makes. Or what do you mean by "check light"?

Could there be other symptoms to check out on the car or just the leaking exhaust? Cause people are telling me the following ;
-Intake air leaks
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Fuel injector leaks
- Spark plugs may be faulty
- Improper ignition timing
-Three way catalyst converter Bank 1

U said you had a service engine soon light, not a check light, for all I know they may be stored codes from when your car was last worked on. But because you said "a deeper louder sound" and you went over "terrible roads" and your scan results include lower "catalyst efficiency" 1st thing to do is check for the obvious.

Do that reset car drive arround for a day and rescan.
