presidentpikin: I went to the part market in kd, the price for belgium engine is N75,000 with one wk gurantee but funny enogh all the engine I saw were just like trash.visual wise my engine is more neat than those engine and having a thinking of rebuilding my engine cos still in fair condition.

Some of them look like trash and make more sence than what you have, oil spill on an engine does not make it a rubish, you need a technical eye to look at an engine, please go with a "trusted" friend or mechanic.

Op a complete engine is better than a half one, Is it a 4cylinder engine? If it is then its a 3s-fe 2nd generation it should be about 60-80k depends on how you bargain. Go with a mechanic to help you check the engine out.

Not gonna happen. Your ecm has no support for vvti, no harness for it either.

Bossmd: When it comes to engine replacement, I think Lagos is the best place to shop. No compromise. You will get the best prices in Lagos with warranty. Getting it elsewhere will be a huge risk considering the role an engine plays in your vehicle. I had to get a replacement for my engine after it failed due to a spurious mechanical error. I took to advice from the experts here, Siena and Gazzuzz
( God bless those guys, they are brilliant engineers). I bought the 2AZ engine at Ladipo for 160k. After installation, the new engine was even quieter than the one that came with the car.

I don't think a 1MZ will cost as much as 150k. If you need the parts dealer no I can oblige you. Don't source your replacement engine from anywhere else apart from Lagos! Not because of price alone but Quality.

Go to one of the ware house in ladipo with "a different mechanic" price of a 1mz for avalon is between 65-75k. It was 65k last year, I don't think the price has changed much

Something not funny is happening to my '03 Accord ignition.

It once happened in the past that the car refused to start when I turned the key. Instead, it made some 'sparking' sound around the steering column and the lights on the dashboard would immediately fade out, then spark would stop.

I thought my battery was getting flat, and I replaced it with a brand new one. To my surprise, the same thing happened with the new battery.

I called an electrician to see, who told me the problem is in my car ignition. He removed a component attached to the end of the keyhole and took it for repair. After this, car started without problems for some weeks... BUT that shyt happened again yesterday.

Please, does anyone in the house know what the exact problem is and how it may be permanently fixed?

This time don't repair, replace the faulty part, with a new one or tokumbor one.

* brake booster (servo)
* substandard brake pads
