iCauseTrouble: Sincerely, I want Oyetola to win because he really tried in Osun State. But I hate his affiliation with Tinubu and APC
His affiliation with Tinubu is something you cannot cut off. He is Tinubu nephew, and he was able to become governor because Tinubu backed him, and he won the election under APC.
Och77: SOME LITTLE DETAILS YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IN THE EKWEREMADU CASE.
David Ukpo Nwamini is the 21-year-old Lagos street hawker who was to give his kidney to Ekweremadu’s daughter IN London. When he was interviewed at the hospital in London, they asked him if he knew he was to donate his kidney to Sonia Ekweremadu.
He first told them that he had no money to donate. They explained to him that it was his kidney that he was to donate. He asked them what was kidney.
Initially, the doctors thought it was a question of language, since David’s English was not good enough. However, they eventually understood that David did not know which human organ was called kidney.
In other words, he did not know what organ he was to give Sonia. That led the doctors to conclude that the procedure was not well-explained to David and that is the number one requirement by law.
According to the law, you must explain to the organ donor the procedure and all the health risks associated with the procedure. It is only then that the donor is taken to have informedly consented. When the doctors found that David did not understand what he was about to get involved in, they declared him a mismatch.
The term “mismatch” is a technical generic language to indicate that the proposed organ harvesting has not met all the requirements.
Many in Nigeria have misunderstood the term “mismatch” in this case to meant that David’s kidney was not suitable for Sonia.
No! There was nothing wrong with David’s Kidney.
To donate an organ, the facts must match both the law and the science governing the procedure. While the kidney matched the scientific requirement, the facts did not match the legal requirement.
So, it was declared a mismatch. To help you understand it better, the term “mismatch” means there is a discrepancy.
The doctors who interviewed David did not and could not have determined that a crime was committed. The doctors did not have sufficient information to reach such conclusion then.
They felt uncomfortable with the discrepancies in the information they had about the donor and his decisions and whether he had made up his mind.
For instance, the doctors did not get involved in how David was brought to them or whether he was paid. It was not their duty to deal with that. It was actually when Ekweremadu and Dr. Obinna attempted to return David to Nigeria that the problem started.
David expected that he would be given a job in London as he was told before he left Nigeria. They did not give him job and they did not send him to school. Instead of all he was promised, he was asked to prepare to return to Nigeria and David ran away from the house where he was kept.
As hunger wired him, he reported himself to the police. To win the immediate protection of the police, he lied about his age by telling them he was 15.
It was when he was interviewed by the police that the information came out which established that a crime was committed. For instance, it was at the police station that they asked him if he was paid money and he said yes he was paid N270,000. When the police checked the WhatsApp chats between Ekweremadu and Dr. Obeta they realized that Ekweremadu actually paid 4.5 million for Obeta to pay to David. But Obeta only paid David N270,000 and pocketed the rest.
In fact, Ekweremadu tried to keep himself away from certain details of the deal. That was why Ekweremadu never discussed money with David. In fact, he did not deal directly with David. That was what made it possible for Obeta to cheat him. Ekweremadu believed that the 4.5 million went to David. But since he was not dealing with David directly, he never knew that Obeta pocketed most of the money.
However, the law viewed Ekweremadu’s decision not to deal directly with David as a typical behavior of a big man who knew that he is getting involved in a crime. He would usually try to create some distance between him and the crime, yet he will be funding the crime from afar.
Otherwise, how come you never wanted to meet the boy that is giving his kidney to your daughter and whom you called cousin to your daughter (which actually makes him your nephew)? Rather than see the non-direct dealing as evidence of his innocence, it was seen as deliberate or willful ignorance aimed at evading legal responsibility.
One of the key factors that worked against Ekweremadu was that he lied. On three official documents he signed, he stated that David was Sonia’s cousin. But in all the WhatsApp chats he had with the doctor and his own brother over the matter, he referred to David as “that guy”. Hence the question: “You knew he was not Sonia’s cousin. While you signed that he was her cousin, when you wanted to say the truth, you referred to him as “that guy”, meaning you didn’t know him or even remember his name”. Ekweremadu admitted in court that he lied and apologized.
NOTE: I decided to provide these details because I have read somewhere it was being said that David misled Ekweremadu and took advantage of him. No, David is a real victim. He did not manipulate them. He was manipulated by Dr. Obinna Obeta, who was working for the Ekweremadu.
*Copied*.
Based on this quote The so-called Dr Obinna greediness put the Ekerenmadus and himself in jail. He thought the boy does not know the value of money hence giving him a paltry sum. The boy from the street must have told his fellows what transpired, and they must have advised to play ignorance role in the UK to attract sympatry to himself
Anywhere in the world Nigerians will scream 'Blood of Jesus'
I don't think you have been in a terrifying situation before.
I remember some years back , I was a passenger insider a commercial bus from Obalende to Oshodi, in the middle of 3rd mainland bridge, one of the Tyres busted and passengers started shouting Jesus Jesus Jesus. There is one alfa that joined the shouting too and the bus was on top speed. After surviving, some passengers asked the alfa that you were shouting Jesus and he said, he noticed the bus was maintaining its balance when others are calling the name of Jesus and that is why he joined.
shiwex: Same shit everywhere. Really men are not suppose to get married, its all a scam that men get nothing out of. Its same shit everywhere....Its all a 10 year plan
They marry you...... give you about two kids...... starve you of sex........ wait for you to go out and cheat........ divorce you....... Take your house and half of your shit.
Marriage is a scam guys. Do not fall for it.
You don marry? Which properties you get wey ya wife wan collect half? This is Nigeria and I don't think 5050 formular is law here
Maysdevices: Lol. If you know how many men are living with cheating women and they don’t say shit. Growing up, I used to think it worked that way but it doesn’t. People don’t really care
It is not that easy to kick your wife out or leave your home, especially when there are kids and there is no money.
The world has changed
You are not far from the truth but the menace is part of societal corruption
BloomingDale: Only small pikin dey fall for this nonsense. A cheating husband deserves a cheating wife. Shikena. No two ways about it. Nature has to maintain balance.
The bottom line is if your husband cheats on you, you will cheat back and society will blame you
JealousCobra: We are still seeing building of brigdes and flyovers in this generation as an achievements from the crook government 😎 gullible Nigerians!
Then why are they voted for as the leaders.
Wike built bridges you are lamenting, is that bridge not an infrastructure for further development of the state or what of your other governors that cannot boast of any infrastructure after 8 years tenure as a governor.
The rabble rouser professor should be wiser than this. There was never a free and fair election in Nigeria as long as the opposition parties concern. The mindset of Nigerians especially the so-called educated ones is that the election that favoured their candidate is credible but the one that does not favoured them is rigged.
nairalanda1: Tinubu won because PDP was divided into 4 factions
Now, if the court rules against Tinubu, I am ready to eat my words, with pleasure, because it is high time we should have gotten rid of APC, but as things stand now,APC did win this election fair and square.
You can call me Tinubu supporter. I am not, and never will be. But the fact is, if the votes for LP, PDP and NNPP had gone to one party, APC would have been crying, and Tinubu would have retired to go and sort himself out.
My problem with Nigerians when it comes to politics , and indeed Africans, is that when it is time to get ready for election, the opposition is divided. In 2003, all the oppostion forces should have been united against PDP, instead we had ANPP and APGA then with their own show, and AD suddenly decided that Obasanjo was godsent...
In 2011, the same thing. Buhari wrecked ANPP, Tinubu backed GEJ behind his party and his party candidate's back, and APGA was at sea....
But when you tell Nigerians this truth, they will abuse you.
Obi did well, much better than expected. But at the end of the day, he lost because he did not get enough of the states he needed.
We can be lying to ourselves that Tinubu rigged the election....or we can face facts and do what Buhari did, after twelve years of lying to himself that Nigerians wanted him...form alliances, and get ready for 2027, or APC will win again, and where would we be?
Thumbs up The youth of nowadays are not really educated when it comes to Nigeria politics
Johans2023: These people know that Tinubu will be diverting federal government money to pay for their project. Hmmm! This is a project to siphon federal government money. I said it! Person never enter seat,he don dey plan ho to thief our money.
Without statutory allocation You reason like a kindergarten
sonature1: Stop mentioning Buhari's name in leadership discussions because he knows zilch about leadership. Buhari made it abundantly clear that he cannot do much when he was voted in the first time and kept to his word, but he still contested again knowing that he knew nothing about leadership.
As for Peter Obi, your question shows that you know nothing about Anambra State. Meet someone who knows the state to explain the difference between the Anambra State Peter Obi met and the one he left. Peter Obi practically wrested the state from the shackles of influential evil men who had the capacity to kidnap an incumbent Governor Chris Ngige.
The Anambra Soludo praised him for? He lied that he left money for Obiano without telling people the corresponding debt accrued there increasing the poverty level of his people
sonature1: Leadership at the national level transcends building infrastructure. What Peter Obi is proposing is a total overhaul of the Nigerian state (instilling sanity and the rule of law) and expanding our economic frontiers (we call it diversification here).
There's so little the state can do in those areas. We need those more than anything else.
By the way, I noticed that you don't like Peter Obi, so you are likely going to attack him in your rejoinder to this comment. Sorry, bros, I won't react to it.
Which sanity are talking about while reasonable people are talking about viable and laudable project. Did Obi instill that your sanity when he governed for 8 years in Anambra? Do you think anyone can rule Nigeria without constitution? Do you think obi as a president can tame the governors or fire anyone that constitution put in place?
Forget sanity, that what people think Buhari will bring but the system humbled him. If Buhari, a military man cannot tame the system, is it obi that is a civilian that will do it
Arsenal needs to be dynamic in their playing style. When you are playing clubs like City and Liverpool, use need solid defending and a player to play a spoiler role in your team and absorb them without leaving a gap in your defense for them to operate.
It's painful for Arsenal to have led for a longer period of time and collapsed at almost the finished line
IyaebeTheGreat: In as much as I hate toxic inlaws please women should learn never to cause division in a family. Women should be a bridge, a peacemaker and have that forgiven spirit. Know where to put your leg and when to hide your head. He's just your husband and not your property, stop colonising men away from their family just because he has married you. Be a unifier, a peacemaker and above all an IYAEBE.
Iyaebe , you are also an Iyaogbon, may you enjoy your matrimony for many years to come
donproject2: Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa) is one of the prophets pf Allah. One of the articles of faith in Islam is to believe in prophets. That os why you will never see any Muslims saying something derogatory about Jesus, we believe him as a prophet. That was the preaching of the said imam.
In as much, I don't like religious argument, the man I listened to that day, described the works of Jesus as a pastor would described it. Comparing Jesus to other prophets of Allah is somehow. I think the book of Isaiah 9:6 settled who Jesus is
donproject2: And coming to your doorstep on a Sunday morning, ready to go to church...telling you I have more important things I want to tell you from Islam. Just be sincere, answer this question, what would you do
The person that came to you should have applied wisdom by just given you a tract instead of trying to disturb your peace.
As per you question, anybody that comes to me for important thing on a Sunday morning will have to wait till after the service that is I blamed the guy that came to you. As a Christian, Jehovah witness people will knock your door to preach at a time you least expect them and that may be annoying sometimes.
donproject2: I checked your profile, I see what you are, typical of Christians. You people behave the same way. I will tell you few personal things about you and your people and your religion.
1. In 2011, I was in my room playing quaran verses on my PC with me dressed in my Jalabia, ready to go to mosque to pray. I was about to go out when I heard someone knocked my door, opened the door, lo and behold, it was a young guy standing before my door ready to preach a Gospel to me. I politely told him I am a muslim, not that he didn't know. I also told him I was about to go to mosque, his response was shocking but I played it calm. This dude legit told me he had more important thing to tell me, that he wanted to tell me about salvation. An easy going person I am, I laughed it off and told him I was getting late already. I politely discharged him.
2. It was my 100 level days in Unilorin. I was sitting on a slap close to a lecture room, waiting for a lecture when a friend of mine came to show me what someone just wrote in one of his Quaran sectioned books (I have to put it that way, it is called Juz). He said he left his books on the table to go to the rest room just for him to return to see a "Jesus saves" writing inside the quaran page. He suspected the lady that sat beside him, though she has left before he came back. 8 years after, I still have the picture with me, you may want me to show you.
3. A story told by my uncle, and it is online, you may want to read. It happened in UI (University of Ibadan) where a Christian lady dressed like a muslim, entered mosque on a Friday, during the Friday general prayer, prayed with them. After the prayer, the lady legit went to the front shouting "Jesus is lord." This is more like what you wrote in your profile, entering Islam section after swearing already.
4. In Ilara-mokin, Ondo State. Was going with a friend to fetch water (from hand lever tap water) in the government clinic they have there. We were approaching the hand lever, another guy (obviously a Christian) was also coming from another direction. By calculation, this guy was closer to the lever than us. This my friend had to start running to get to the tap before him and he successfully got there before the other guy could. We fetched before him and started heading home afterwards. On our way home, this guy had to stress that had it been that the guy was a muslim, he would have ran to get to the lever as well when he saw him running, he further said it that muslims are that cunning. I asked him a question he couldn't answer, that what about him (a Christian) that outsmarted the guy, what should I say about him. He had no response for me.
I watch you people how you constitute nuisances up and down and I just laugh, and you be the ones coming out shouting how intolerant some other religions are.
Preaching Jesus to you should not be an offence if the word of a muslim cleric is true. Infront of my former working place is a big mosque and every Friday they normally preach the word from Quaran. One day, they preached about Jonah's disobedience, I marveled because the way the Imam preached is like the way a Pastor will preach it I heard one Muslim cleric one day that if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your saviour, you won't enter heaven.
