epainos: Typical of a Nigerian who resorts to abuse as a way of escape. I will repeat, if those guys have some approvals, how the approval was gotten is less important when it comes to their compensation. |

epainos: Fact is we are the one insinuating bribe was paid because they could get permits without bribe. Since most are claiming that in Nigeria, bribe has to be paid to get the approval, then those owners need be compensated because they got approval. I don't know why you need everyone to suite your narrative. I would reiterate my point, if they have government approval irrespective of how it is gotten, they should be compensated. You assume too much. That I insist the right of owners who were permitted need be honored doesn't mean I have a property there. If I do and I have a permit, surely, I would seek compensation as it is my right by law. As for where I live, that shouldnt be your worry. |

Chimookigwe:Let me help you out, if they got it through bribe, there is an evidence that it was approved thus, the state needs compensate them. |
Properties / Re: Enugu State Government Demolishes Properties Encroaching On Road Allowance by GboyegaD(m): 8:27pm On Dec 22, 2023 |
epainos: To the 1st one in italics, if builders are asked to extend building beyond architectural plans without proper approval, then the owners do not deserve compensation however, government officials should have highlighted/earmarked the building since the violation was noticed. On the second, if they got it through bribe, they should be compensated as there is an evidence of the approval except there is a document showing they bribed their ways and in such a case, the government can prosecute such officials and property owners. |

Romance / Re: Kano: Bleak Xmas For Contributors As Lady Sends Man Abroad With Their Money by GboyegaD(m): 6:48pm On Dec 22, 2023 |
Why use people's money to send someone abroad? Do they pick money on the streets abroad? I am sure he didn't come on an investor's visa or a permanent residence which means he is illegal if he chooses to work. How was she and the partner thinking of paying back? They are very wicked and should be punished. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Family / Re: My Journey To Ikoyi Prison by GboyegaD(m): 12:28am On Dec 22, 2023 |
It is well. My experience in the cell was in 1998 and it was about 4 hours. The police picked me up during their raid at Tincan Island. I was slapped by a useless police officer because I asked for his warrant of arrest. My mom had to bail me with N2500. She was there when I was picked and asked the question. She had to beg me to follow the police men because for me, I felt I was been humiliated on my right. The cell was pretty empty and sincerely, I slept off where I sat. I guess it was because I knew my mom was surely coming to bail me that very day. Sorry about your story but 13 months was such a long time. Were you able to pay back the money? 6 Likes |

Car Talk / Re: TOYOTA COROLLA: A Wise Choice Decision To Make In Nigeria Today? by GboyegaD(m): 5:26pm On Dec 21, 2023 |
The topic, I have read it over many times and still can't make out the meaning. The body, not sure I understand the writer's opinion as intended. Is the writing opining that it is a good car to buy because of its low cost of maintenance and fuel saving ability or a bad car to buy because of the high rate of theft/vandalism of the vehicle? For the last question, I think one's intention of owning a car and one's maintenance budget for a car should guide. I have a Corolla and while the OP stated the maintenance cost is cheap, I do not think so when I compare it to my Honda. At each routine maintenance, there's always something to fix and this is just a 3years old vehicle. 21 Likes |

All I said about values is that she can't give herself away and then turn to blame the men for asking. If you don't get it at this point and want to keep arguing, I can't help any further. 3 Likes 1 Share |
