Just finished my interview, mechanical engineering, they commended my CV, and then a the end of it all, one of them gave me a handshake telling me jokingly he wants to hear more while the head of the panel also jokingly said we can have our separate meeting for that. They wished me safe journey after my questions and that was all.. Bless

If you think it is ur excellent answers and composure in the interview that will make you get this job, then you are a joker. This recruitment has long been decided & they just want to fill in the blanks (some merit).

FYI thousands of people passed the CBT only few were fortunate to get the invite, y'all think you got invited because you're more brilliant abi? I dey laugh.

Lol. Please leave them. The people complaining are people that have been interviewed and who knows they think by people giving others heads up, it is reducing their chances because they got no heads up.
I mentioned team work and I can see some people highlighting it. It’s obvious they don’t know what team work is.
It’s the lack of team spirit that makes you think every competition has to be destructive.
I’m still of the opinion that someone can give you your exact questions and you will still not pass.
At this stage, nobody can teach you common sense, confidence and analytical reasoning.
For crying out loud, there’s interview questions everywhere on the internet. What’s the difference between what people are saying here and the ones online.
Hope you know there’s no correct or wrong answer to an interview as such.
It is all about how you bring out your points and comport yourself.
It’s obvious why you are panicking.

And the person referencing school exams out of context, you're fortunate distinctions weren't reserved for a fixed number of students.

God's grace cannot favor everyone into nnpc, cos nnpc cannot take everyone operating by grace. God's grace is going to lead some people into lower jobs where His grace can suffice even more.

I think you are not getting things right.
Early in the thread, someone bashed another person and said he gave him fake past questions that nothing came out. I was just laughing here. Ignorance is a virus that eats people deep. How can you say a past question is fake? Past questions are to help ones mind practice. It is in no way the actual question.
In par with this scenario! Please how can you say people who are sharing their experiences are giving malpractice for goodness sake! When are we going to understand team work. And we are here expecting to be recruited by nnpc to be their future. It’s a shame what some people exhibit here. I really wish an official was here tho.
Sharing your experience is in no way malpractice.
First of all, for you to have made it this far, you must have exhibited characteristic traits of smartness and a bit of luck or grace.
Someone’s question can never be your question. If you go in cramming a person’s question or reply, it’s to your own dismay.
I personally think this interview is to monitor how someone is able to reason analytically and outside the box and your level to withstand pressure by your comportment when questions are thrown at you.
It’s high time people swallowed their negativity if you have nothing prolific to say please.

I don't get why we shouldn't help each other, during the exam at my center, I helped 3 persons with answers from d CBT, they were all called up for the interview.

When I got outside, the people I helped started thanking me, so the 10am batch got interested and asked me how it went, I told them every question I could remember, "withholding nothing"

Maybe, its just my nature to help people, I don't care whether the person I helped gets in and I dont, I just want to go to bed each night happy and fulfilled.

Don't mind them. They want to form Mr. Generous. While it is not wrong to share info about your interview, there are certain things you shouldn't divulge, like the questions u were asked. The most annoying thing is that many who are requesting for them to be furnished with info would not do so if they were in that position. People can be cunning.

All My NNPC GT Interview Experience on 3rd July 2019 (Panel 47 later turn 16)

I woke up as early as 4am, did final preparation and interview practice. Left my place at 6am, took coastal bus to NNPC Towers. When I got to the towers, met other candidates outside the towers at far end of a fence. I went straight to the tower, I was told to wait for my scheduled time (9am). I went back to sit beside the fence. With much tension, I hurriedly went to urinate.

Thereafter, everyone went into queue, I join at 8:47am. Later, we were told the space available will not be sufficient everyone. I went back to sit. At 9:09am we fall into queue again, this time going into the towers. At the tower gate, we were asked to bring out our ID card and invitation letter for sight seeing and later given a pass card before entry into the towers. While those that came with bag were asked to drop their bag and register it also, they got the bag immediately at the other end of the search machine. We were led to the ground floor of the towers for verification; while moving, we were given a green file and differentiated into our categories (GT & EH).The first, was the signing of the invitation letter by an officer, thereafter verification of our original credentials and photocopies at 10:47am. The green file has our 6 copies of our resume and photocopies and the file was assigned with a panel no.

Thereafter, we were led to the hollow chambers of NNPC, where our names were called from the list assigned to the various panels. Immediately it got to my panel (16), I was alert to hear my name correctly. I came out when I heard my name, together with two other persons in the same panel with me at 11: 24am. We followed the usher to the panel room through the elevator. Thereafter, one of the interviewers came out to inform us to relax, that is not as difficult as we think, we should be free to express ourselves to the best level we can. Another even offer us a bottle of water and biscuit.

After they finished with the 7am candidates, one of us enter according to the order in the list. After her, they went for a tea break. I discovered the block we were, houses more of engineering inclined candidates. One of the interviewers came and collect by file that contain my resume and went inside with it. At 1:13pm I was called in for my interview with 6 interviewers, all assigned to interview engineering inclined candidates, which I was among (Electrical/Electronic).

Firstly, there all introduced themselves, and one gave the safety tips in the tower in case it becomes necessary and I was told I could excuse myself to use the convenience at any point in the interview.
These are my interview questions;

1. Can you tell us what project you did at final year?
2. Tell us the problem you saw.
3. Tell us more about your findings, conclusion.
4. Which part of Nigeria will you project (Integrated windturbine inverter sysyem ) be more relevant.
5. Can you tell us the safety measures you can put in place to avert an incident?
6. What is the most difficult situation you have ever been?
7. What is the most decision you ever taken?
8. Do you intend to setup an institution?
9. Why did you decide to pursue something different from your first degree in your second degree?
10. Do you have any comments like questions for us?
N.B: I used the STAR techniques on Q6 & Q7.

After the interview, I went through the elevator and asked to be stopped at the ground floor. I went straight to Block D, to sign out and register my Bank Account with the officer in charge.
I met a security man at the gate post, he said he wishes me a safe trip home. I told him "I WILL BE BACK". He smilled. I left the tense NNPC TOWERS at 2:07pm.

I sincerely wish those yet to be interviewed the very best. I pray this experience I had could help someone.

You must know something, for you to have the capacity to get to this level, it means you also have what others don't have to ace this interview. Just believe in yourself and trust in God/Allah.

Don’t mind him. I didn’t even want to comment. I think a trap is somewhat like an automatic valve so to say that removes non condensable gas or condensates with minimal or no effect on a live steam.

Wow! From responses, I think Grace and Favor will play a big part. Even from the aptitude test, some people had more difficult questions while others had easier ones.
I know there are people had they answered better questions, they’d have been called. Let’s just pray for Grace or Luck here. Anyone really can suffice.

I had my interview yesterday, it was more of interactive session. I answered many questions on accounting (My course of study), questions on challenges I face on my current job, and safety caution. Everyone must answer questions safety. Just be confident.... No question on NNPC and its sub. Or General question. The question was about me, my course and me alone. All the best

Please those that have been interviewed, upon entry to the panel area, do all the interviewers introduce themselves first or they just take your cv and go straight to ‘May we know you ‘?

Just did my own, was the easiest interview I have ever been to,very friendly, not a single question from my cv, only one question from my course of study, not a single question about nnpc and its subsidiaries . what safety measures will you take if you find yourself in a situation, if you have a lot of projects on ground which one will you attend to first, all kinds of situations questions. My advice is just be calm, very friendly people.
PS: there are over 25 panels and you cant rely on my own case, but one thing is certain, make sure you can defend every working experience and achievements on your cv, if not delete them before its late.

lol. GT that earns N200k per month after N4m upfront?

Pro-rate that per month and see if it's anywhere close to Exxon, Shell, TOTAL, Chevron, NLNG - none of which pays less than N850k per month for entry level.

I think this upfront thing confuses people. These IOCs don't do upfront system like NNPC, but if you add NNPC's upfront to the paltry monthly payments afterwards, it is still not close to the guy that will pay you N1m per month at entry level.

So let's say Shell pays N850k per month (they were paying that like 7 years ago!), if they want to operate upfront system like NNPC and decide to be paying you N200k per month, your upfront will be N650k*12 = N7.8m! Compare that to NNPC's upfront of N4m for similar level.

It is only at managerial level that NNPC compares with these companies. At entry level, there is gulf of difference.

This upfront is it every year or just the first year?

They asked that question because I did my internship in the oil and gas industry.

The actual question was "Since you did ur internship with xzy company, you knw nnpc is a bigger company, why do you want to work with us?

You tried but that’s you quoting their mission for them, they might feel you are not hungry enough. Everyone will say he wants to add value . Blah Blah. Trust me they will be tired of hearing that.
I’m an ardent advocate of my Faith as I believe God will Favor me with the best of Interviewers. No matter how hard you try, you need Favour but you need to try hard.

Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. I see someone say someone paid big for interview coaching. Hmm. Hmm. Atleast I have Jarus’ book which is okay for me. If you can afford the training, better pay. Don’t joke with the slightest of things. I remember everyone shouting easy easy after aptitude test yet what happened.
When asked why you want to work with nnpc, remember they are going to ask almost 7000 people that same question so be very smart with your response.
And please if you can assist with an overview of how the interview is, please assist o.
But my major concern is this,
Please people that had interview today, were you constrained to a time limit? Like maybe you were speaking and they told you to hurry up or just cut you off. That kind of thing.

Please can anyone advise? When you are asked to introduce yourself, must you be brief? Like I hear people say you should be brief. I thought this is a time to sell yourself especially when you applied as a graduate Trainee but fortunate to have some experience in the industry.
