Anyone against what this man did has never owned a car nor driven one in his life, this mountain called bump will destroy your shocks, and the funniest part is that, some roads have 10 of them in 100 meters, who tf does that. This man is rendering a social service not paid for.

Rubber strips are meant to be speed breakers, or bumps, like the one along mm2 to international Airport. Break the mfing mountain.

Sorry about that bro.

Was asking because when I lived in that axis about 20 years ago, traffic moved in both directions on the service lanes of the expressway. So I assume the one-way was a street off the express, or the convention i used to know has since been abolished.

I like to know these things to avoid falling into the hands of those licensed criminals.
I once had a gf around that axis too like 10 years back, so I was aware that traffic is 2 ways, reason why I didn't even bother checking for any signs, but I think it was converted to one way after it was constructed by dangle, or those mf's converted it so as to extort civilians.

Had a traumatic experience last Thursday with the MOT and taskforce guys at iyana itire junction on the service lane, headed towards ballet bus stop, na so dem corner us with their iron rods and towing vehicles saying it's one way.

I wanted to switch to James bond inside me, but cos the rider i was with was a Lagos state official i thought it would be easier, omo! Na so we land their office oo, this lady made calls, but when they hear taskforce like dis dem change mouth to make we settle dem.

From 250 to 120 to 80 to 65 and finally 55k, The lady paid in full, I was just weak, omo! That woman was an angel sent from above that day, and ill be eternally grateful to her.

Mot/ taskforce no dey play oo.

Honestly, I can't bet in this buts it's unbelievable. Real 24GB for N3,500 is impossible, I will need to see it with my eyes before I believe.
I am sure u must have had bonus data that rolled over or something. Or u r under some special plan that reduces the cost of your data there must be a catch.
I still stand either that data is fake or u have a special plan
Normal MTN 24GB is complete i download HD movies a lot to watch on my TV, and I can tell you its complete, even the 5k for 40GB.

I don't Know what seed money u talking about ... Bill Gates was a computer nerd. He believe what he was doing will change the world.. He was even a billionaire in his 20's ..... Just because he went to Harvard does not mean he came from wealthy family . Bill Gates father was a lawyer.... Bill Gates was naturally gifted with computer. And he would of made it regardless of his environment .. This guy was just a nerd with capital letters........

Jeff Bezos worked in wall street and various jobs before he started Amazon. He didn't come from money. As a matter fact his father had him when he was 19yrs and mother 17yrs. His parents were divorced at a young age and mother remarried.

Now back in those days parents were very serious about education. So his mother and his step father might have encourage him to get a good education. And he seems like a smart guy to begin with.. Everyone has some type of talent. He might not be good in sports, but academics wise he was brilliant.. You don't have to come from a rich home to know books .. Some kids are just naturally brilliant

Mark Zuckerberg.. I forgot to add him to the list.. Mark Zuckerberg came from a middle class upbringing o. His parents were not wealthy and he started Facebook in his dorm room in college. It was an idea or someone's idea that he was able to perfected. Whatever be case he made something out of it .

So my brother your point here is very upside and backwards . And I can't make much sense out of it ......

I mean I can list an example of people that made it without coming from a wealthy home.. I mean we can start from the entertainment industry from P diddy, to Dr. Dre to master P to Suge knight at 1 point and to Jay-Z . I mean the list goes on ......

Let us be guided my brother. We need to stop making excuses o ..

Let me be coming and going before Nairalanders start saying motivational speaks favours you when u are doing well .. Something along that line sha
If I don't know about anyone, I know about Bezos, and the $300k that was given to him, Bill gate had a mum whose family had generational wealth, and YES! Zuckerberg was born rich, might not be millions rich, but if your parents can afford to send you to a $50k ivy league school (No scholarship) then you're rich.

What these people have in common is their supportive background (Money) and family, how many people in Nigeria who currently have an idea can their family support them with money, you go to a firm to pitch your idea and it gets stolen from you, what are you gonna do about it?

Omo! No dey compare our environment and community to the enabling environment out there, everyone doing ehailing is in it for something so as to step up, but naija go humble you. To all hustlers, pay day is coming.

1. Bill Gates.. Worked at Microsoft .. He helped start the company with his friends. He started small just like any company.

2. Mark Cuban....owner of the Dallas Maverick (NBA). He started has a bar owner in college. He than moved up to IT and products sales

3. Jeff Bezos. He was working in wall street early on before he started Amazon.. He started Amazon with his wife in their garage. Amazon use to just sell books for college students. Amazon was like ebay, similar model of business. But he took the business to the next stage... EBay is supposed to be where Amazon is today. Jeff Bezos was able to think outside the box and expand their business.....

4. Dru23 .. Started as an uber partner leasing rental cars for uber Than moved into car sales and into importer of goods and automobile parts into Nigeria.

These guys started from the bottom .. They were workers clocking in and out like me and you.
But apart from Mark Cuban that came from a middle class family, the rest had "seed money" from their families to become what they are today, imagine having $300k to start a business in freaking 1994.

Why do I feel the 3600 the rider was showing you was the initial estimate when she booked the ride. In my experience, riders tend to do this a lot.
A rider showed me same thing, she made a screenshot of the estimate, I showed her mine, and she was like she won't pay, I confirmed trip and told her to check her mail later for receipt, I collect my money zoom off.

Lolz...That's for that particular trip which I have explained already.
Anyway if u want us to agree Bolt now charges 25% because of the changes, it therefore means Uber is now charging 30%. Why is nobody talking about this, Abi una be Uber apologists?
That's because truly it's incorrect to say they are charging extra 5%. I rest my case.
I don't use Uber, so I really don't know nothing about that, maybe chillex or Felicity001 will know.

Bro pearl1910 will not agree until he sees pictorial proofs, I ve seen two from my earnings but I don’t have strength now.
After calculating distance(km), time and paid waiting + 20 naira service fee... Abeg where did they add 3% ?

According to our uche we will continue to avoid 600 trips so as not to feel pained when bolt takes 25% grin
Even bolt has finally acknowledged they now charge 25% on commission.

BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m):
Pearl1910:
Are you not aware or u just choose to just be ignorant of the fact that prices are rounded up to d nearest 100? So if u do a trip that's 640 it's 600 that will be displayed and if u do a trip that's 650 it's 700 that will be displayed as fare. This applies to every other hundredth fare that is displayed.
However u want to twist it, my advise for u and every other person using this minimum fare as example is don't do short trips of 600 so that bolt will not charge u 25% and u have peace.
Hopefully this settles this issue till further notice.
Looool, but you agree that commission is now 25% paid by the drivers, right? In this hustle, every naira counts, not even now with the increased commission and all, not everyone takes 600 trip, but the day i took it was when I knew we were being cheated.

Why not be transparent to allow drivers know they actually pay the full commission and not the riders, be like you be Uche true true, defender of Bolt Nigeria.

Abeg help me confirm attached picture.

This is not true.

I think Bolt takes that off the customers, not drivers or so.

My point is: some people here condemn the business vehemently but same people goes behind hitting the road as early as possible.
If they’re not exposed, they wouldn’t tell you they’ve got some side hustles.

The fact that you said some have ported to indriver shows people would always find their way around situations as indriver is also an ehailing app.

The business isn’t as bad as some persons paint it here. Someone here shared their strategy of 8 - 5pm or thereabouts and still making something reasonable.

Nairaland isn’t real life sometimes. No job is that easy.

Let’s keep pushing the hopes alive.

Cheers!
It's definitely true bro, base fare of any trip, irregardless of distance is 600, bit add the said 5% commission its suppose to give you a total of atleast 635, but its a lie, the minimum trip still remains 600. The driver bears the 5% cost eventually.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m): 8:28pm On Jan 17, 2022
sbot:
Why’re people complaining and condemning the business at this time?

Nov./Dec. were surge months, there were no advices on how bad the business is but now, you see all sorts.

Funny enough you can’t even pay for a trip yourself on a normal day not to talk of surge trips and you did enjoy all of those.

It’s just common sense thinking that people won’t have much to spend during at early January.

Same people won’t stop being in the business but would only post bad days trip details and ignore those good ones.

One man for himself. Do not listen to people who don’t do the talk.

I yield!
Lol, virtually every business had massive sales November/December, everyone knows it's the period when goods and services are at higher demands. FYI, the surge on bolt came towards the xmas week, and peaked on new years eve when people were reportedly seeing 3X surges.

I put it to you that the high commission is what's actually pissing out most drivers, 600 is the minimum price for any trip, but now bolt has increased its commission to 25.4% albeit not officially, we're told the 5% increase is on the riders which is actually a lie. 600 trip still stays at 600, which is supposed to be like 635 or thereabouts, which isn't so, and recently it seems the fare has been reduced also.

Many drivers are now flocking to indriver as it pays them cos of reduced commission.
