Ogudu police station are the worst set of policemen you'll encounter, coming from ojota to link the bridge towards the island they're stationed in the ramp extorting young guys, coming from Berger also, on that same bridge when there's a little traffic, they'll start looking into vehicles to find prospective clients to exploit, not once or twice I've witnessed them do this.
Even if you maneuver and escape, they'll follow you with their hilux van and pursue you like a thief, as they know there'll still be traffic upfront. They're all a bunch of thieves.
I believe their dpo is in on it too. Cos those people are unstoppable. |

Godfather10: Finally you guys who used to be embarrassed being a UBER driver are now seeing the benefit that E-hailing has been to a lot of us, I used to work in a nice office in London b4 as an Estate manager also wearing shirt and tie myself. earning about £650 per week, it’s not until l joined E-hailing Uber and l started making £1250 did my finances balance. Nowadays I just target a £1000 a week which is very fine and not to hectic, the plan is to relocate bck to Nigeria. Anyway folks, we are getting to the end of the year and if you all start from this wknd, l will like to encourage you guys to put your backs into driving, so that by the 31st of December, you should all make 2.5m with 2m to invest, With a 2m investment and properly you should be making abt N150k monthly. Wishing you guys all the best, my own target is to make £15k with £11k to invest, I will be working 7days a wk btw 10/12hrs every day till the 1st of January then spend 5months in Nigeria. All the best guys, Felicity no slacking o, no discouraging, l knw you very well, If l can do it we all can do it, God bless you all. This ember months don different from every other ones, drivers dey see minimal trips and riders don't even bother taking uberbolt when there's a surge, indriver to the rescue with shifty fares. And God help you in this hot sun without tinted glasses and mortuary standard AC. That side you are, there are limitless opportunities to explore, and uber pays very well, so you can make a target and are sure to meet and exceed it. The market climate here has changed drastically, ember months are cash cows and used to be very lucrative as everyone prepares themselves towards it, but we're in October and still looking forward to the ember months. Be like say we don use ember months for May-July like dis sef. |

God help you if your mechanic happens to damage another component in the process of repairing the initial job order...and this happens more often than vehicle owners realize. Most times you leave the workshop with a different problem than you got there with in the first instance...kinda similar to the way you ended with a 50k repair-bill while working a three-thousand-naira trip. This is just the truth, initial fault was transmission oil shortage, I was perplexed cos I changed it earlier this year. After buying of the oil, it was still leaking, and radiator fluid was drying up too, we discovered the radiator was bent and pipe was broken, had to change the radiator too. I wan cry. |

I had to end a trip close to riders street on Friday night. Rider said she can’t step out cos she would have to walk inside water to get to her house. I just parked and was pressing phone to quickly reply post here. Las las I beg her to take bike home. Same thing I do if I sense Lastma or LGA tout traps zones, I will beg rider that it’s better you go with the money than pay 25k to Lastma.
Sorry you will recover the 50k dis weekend, just don’t be a lazyD work like ants (100k very easy week in week out) Trip na just 2500 oo. |

Chai! People wey dey always turn around Lagos hoping to meet up dey try oo, I broke one of my rules last Monday, took a trip from mafoluku to Titi kokori around governor's road. All was smooth till we entered this hellish street, it was like rock climbing, my car was just hitting the ground cos of how bad the street was, worst part was that the street was freaking long, and I was still going to 92, spent over 20 minutes navigating on the street.
Was even thinking how to come back out cos I was afraid sef,to cut the story short, I lost my radiator to the street, I didn't know my gear oil was licking till Saturday when I had an event to attend, while trying to engage the second gear, the car jerks and slows down, took it to my mechanic, I had to buy gear oil 15k and changed the radiator to double cell 30k which was unplanned.
Spent a total of unbudgeted 50k, cos I broke a golden rule. |

Like someone said earlier on this thread, no do follow follow, no follow bandwagon, as a newbie, the posting of dashboards will always entice you to come into the hustle, but the question remains, "your body fit allow you?" No one is impervious to sickness, and no one is immune to fatigue. Using me as an example, a friend of mine introduced me to the hustle, during one of our meetings, baba came almost late cos he was looking for a trip to the meeting location, showed what he made already for the day, na werin push me enter the game be that, forgetting he has a passion for driving. Within 2 months I don get car say make I begin hustle, but my body told me otherwise, knee pains, waist pains, eye pain due to strain, I wasn't built like he was, now my mentor with a passion for driving don dey advise me to shey jeje. The crux of the matter is that do what works for you, it was when I started driving bolt that I realized I had no passion for driving 3-4 hrs straight, na just normal cruise driving i like Posting dashboards no dey motivate me anymore as I don sabi say our body different from each other, and again, body no be firewood. We all deserve rest. |

Pearl1910: Oh really?!...that window pops up everytime u click arrive and still move far away. Not only when u r in PU. So u r now saying if a driver clicks arrived even before getting to pick up, When he finally starts trip d App begins to count the distance from the point he clicked arrived if he didn't click on "wait for passenger" all the while?
Do u guys even think deep and reason the things you want to say before u say it?
I can tell u for free, whether u click "forgot to start trip" or u click "wait for passenger" it's irrelevant, ur trip starts calculating time and distance from the point u click "start trip" This one na error oo, the screenshot i shared says otherwise, if what you said was true, I shouldn't even get one penny, cos I started and ended immediately at the destination. |

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m): 9:38am On Oct 07, 2021 |
Pearl1910: Two possible scenarios... 1. This trip was most likely on 1.9 surge. So d minimum fare X d Surge gave u 1k.
2. Lets assume there was no surge, Because u did all that at the destination, the App actually senses that u forgot to start d trip. Hence the 9.3km distance recorded but no trip duration included. Now, that is not the correct estimated fare for the trip. Cos estimated fare would have factored the trip duration but what u have there is only duration and base fare.
Now, the fact that u didn't even click arrive makes it impossible for the App to calculate where u possibly started the trip from to were u ended it, as u are insinuating.
Ask yourself if u didn't get to that destination maybe she asked u to go to VI and u did all that arrive, start and end when u got to VI, what do u think u will see as fare?. Is it still d estimate??
If u did all that arrive, start on ur way while still driving u would have gotten d time u drive and d distance covered for he remainder of the trip only. Plus the surge if any. 1. There's no surge whatsoever. 2. It calculated the distance of 9.3km even without arriving, i bet the algorithm made the calculation on the estimated price and that i started and ended the trip as said destination. If we went to VI from there even without my knowledge of starting the trip, distance will be calculated minus time spent on the trip. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m): 8:46am On Oct 07, 2021 |
IFSHR: Yes, but not if you start half way...if you had started that trip half way....the actual km covered will have applied, as the app will assume that point you started as your new pick up point ...stating at the end point only passes one message to the app, that you forgot to start the trip..... That's another way to look at it, guess the app bot has been programmed that way. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m): 8:45am On Oct 07, 2021 |
Pearl1910: The person also said his fare was correct. So what's d headache for. The problem is people don't want to pay for services rendered they feel drivers should be carrying them free of charge sef. Imagine someone complaining Somolu to Airport 1700. Most definitely there was surge from Somolu.
Yaba to Festac for 2800 and u r still complaining.
Chevron to Magboro 10k and u r complaining. Magboro, that u will go and turn after Redeem and face Lagos again. Ha wa o.
And some drivers are here spewing rubbish from their ignorant brains. Omo na few things they vex me; cheating and ignorant talk is on the list. Low fares no dey even inspire me to drive again, from mmia to chevron na like 4k, there was a day I picked a rider from vgc to mm1 and fare was 5k, omo I just weak even with traffic, riders want to pay zero to nothing for comfort, and them go still complain give you -1 star Una wey dey go after Berger dey try. Anything after Berger you no fit use rope drag me sha. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by geezyk(m): 8:41am On Oct 07, 2021 |
IFSHR: 1. Judging from the receipt of the 2nd screenshot....can you say you are not short changed?
2. Felicity perspective comes to play here, and it proofs that it will only count when you forget to start a trip and starts at the end point, what you will get is just the estimated km fare and the time frame, but if you start half way, it will only consider the km covered and time spent.... I was shortchanged, but I'm glad I even had a fare in the first place, the return journey was less than 10 mins as the road was extraordinarily free. But then, it still boils down to the fact that, even without starting the trip from point A-B you'll still get the estimated fare minus the time spent on the trip. |

Josephase: This is never possible, the minimum fare is 600 and you got 1k because the trip was on a surge. If you like drive from epe to iyanapaja without "arriving and starting the trip" then do that afterwards nah 600 you go get. Oga, na you drive am for me? Have you done it before? I told you my experience first hand, but you chose to rebuff it even when you haven't experienced it before. |
