It was a clear penalty, don't blame the refs. But boy, are the vuvuzela's quiet.

Are you guys crazyhuh racist ko, racist ni. Don't you know the FIFA rules, if you tackle a player without getting the ball, IT IS A FOUL and if you impede a player with a clear goal scoring opportunity, its a straight red card, isnt' that how Nemanja Vidic was always getting red cards.
Look at the replay again, granted it was dodgy defending by the goalkeeper, look closely he didnt  fully commit to tackling the player, he actually drawed his feet back.  I barely noticed a contact.

Its a sandwich wrap!!! GOAL!

This is in the same economy we are being told that Sanusi has destroyed etc - what we have here now, are very serious and credible long term investors (what our economy needs) not the foreign speculators we had preiviously in the stock market. There can be no stronger show of confidence in our economy by a major international finance corporation -- but you just watch as 'our banks' start to fall over themselves to get involved as well even at below the 9% these guys are looking for.

@ Kobojunkie, I'm not arguing with you but I would love to know where in the US you can  buy 1 acre of residential land for less than $10K.
its quite possible to get an acre of land in NY for around $10,000, as long as you are not anywhere near the metro areas. Certainly land could be had for around $25bucks per sq ft or even less in counties outside of the city.
SportsRoger Milla Criticizes Eto'o: "Brought Nothing To Cameroun Team" by Gekko(op): 3:19pm On Jun 01, 2010
http://allafrica.com/stories/201006010326.html

Lagos — There is rumble in the den of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon as inspirational player, Samuel Eto'o is upset over a remark about him by African legend, Roger Milla

Eto'o is so angry at the criticism by Milla that he is threatening to walk out on his teammates before the World Cup.

Milla, who thrilled fans with some dazzling goals and quirky celebrations in helping Cameroon reach the 1990 World Cup quarter-finals, claimed Eto'o "still hasn't brought anything to our national team".

Milla said that Eto'o had "brought lots to Barcelona and Inter Milan but never anything to the Cameroon team".

"It's also a question of discipline. Cameroon is waiting for him to react," Milla said.

Eto'o, who this month won the Champions League with Inter to add to his two European Cup winning medals with Barca in 2006 and 2009, dubbed Milla "bitter".

Eto'o is Cameroon's all-time leading scorer and has won the Champions League three times -leave twice with Barcelona and last week with Inter Milan.

"Is it worth me going to the World Cup? I still have a few days left to think, but I will see if it's important for me to participate because I don't need this criticism in my career," Eto'o said at the week. "It's always just before the major tournaments that the old geezers wake up. What's Milla done? He hasn't won the World Cup; they played in the quarter-finals."

Milla was 38 when he scored four goals in the 1990 World Cup, dancing around the corner flag after each one with a big grin in the days when goal celebrations were not commonplace.

Milla also scored in the 1994 World Cup - Cameroon's consolation goal after getting thrashed 6-1 by Russia - to become the tournament's oldest scorer.

Eto'o said he respects Milla as a player, but he was helped by having better players around him in 1990.

"They had one of the best teams with great players in every department. It's not because they became famous at 40, that they can start talking," Eto'o said. "You end up asking yourself: Are these my people? Are these really my people?"

\
Milla's 28 goals in 102 games is well below Eto'o's 44 in 94 games for Cameroon, and Eto'o is also the African Cup of Nations all-time leading scorer.

Milla's modest club career took him to Monaco, Bastia, Saint-Etienne and Montpellier where he scored regularly but did not have the success Eto'o has enjoyed.

In a prolific time with Barcelona, Eto'o scored 108 league goals in 145 games and won the Spanish league title and was also La Liga's top scorer.

Eto'o scored far fewer goals for Inter this season, but showed versatility by adapting his game to play in a more defensive, wide role out on the right under coach Jose Mourinho.

Inter also won the league title and the Italian Cup, with Eto'o performing well in the Champions League.
I think Milla was out of line criticizing Eto considering the stats between the two,  perhaps he was trying to fire Eto up before the tournament.  I see no reason for Eto to pull out of the world cup.

I hope we can see the best tri-midfield we have in the country together.

Thats using Mikel, Sani Kaita and Haruna Lukman together in the midfield.

Lets see what it does in our midfield.

I will also like us to expirement with a lone striker up front with Osaze Odemienge leading the lines while Ikechukwu Uche and Obinna Nsofor start on the left and right flanks while being alert to both their attacking and defensive duties.

The best formation for our current Nigerian team is 4 - 2 - 3 - 1

                                                                                                 Ejide/Enyeama

Suswan                                        Apam                                                                 Yobo/Dele                                                Taye Taiwo

                                    Obi Mikel                                                                                             Sani Kaita

Ikechukwu Uche / Peter Utaka                                                        Haruna Lukman                                                       Obinna Nsofor

                                                                                                  Osaze

Massive counter attacking football thats the only choice we have for the world cup. We do not have the quality to keep the ball like spain, Brazil or Argentina.
Mikeansy, i like your lineup.  If they jelly well they can surprise Nigerians.  I have a slight alteration though, I rather see Victor Anichebe as the lone striker and place Osaze on that right wing to give him space to run.

PoliticsRe: Have U Ever Experienced Injustice Abroad? by Gekko(m): 1:43am On May 29, 2010
cap28:
"have you ever experienced injustice abroad"

Hmm - how long have you got? my answer is yes, all the time.

many nigerians who have never lived in europe, north america, canada, australia or any other nation with a majority white population will never understand what it feels like to be looked down upon because of the colour of their skin - in this instance the colour being black/brown, UNTIL they live in any of the above mentioned countries.

In a nutshell whites look down on blacks and it doesnt end there other minority groups in the west ALSO look down on blacks! as a result wherever you go in the west as a black person you are constantly in a battle, things that other races take forgranted are things that you have to fight for. Most blacks are disrespected and the benefit of the doubt is rarely accorded to blacks until you prove yourself.

Many nigerians are totally oblivious to this because a lot of the time it is subtle, but blacks who were born and bred in the west understand it and can smell it a mile off. Most whites are superficiallly well mannered and courteous towards blacks because they know that there are negative consequences for not doing so, therefore apart from the odd neo nazi jerkoff most whites WILL NEVER BE RACIST TO YOUR FACE, however actions speak louder than words and the average white person is INHERENTLY RACIST AND CANNOT HELP LOOKING DOWN ON BLACK PEOPLE.

As they say actions speak louder than words and the actions of whites demonstrates how they feel about blacks as many of them prefer to socialise with their own people
usually chose NOT to socialise with blacks,
do not like to educate their children in schools which are predominantly black,
definitely do not like to live amongst blacks.

The average white person with a good education, good job and bright prospects will usually have little or nothign to do with a black person on a social level, the main reason for this being the consequnces of being cut off by friends and family for doing so.

some people might say - what do i care what people think of me , well if like many nigerians who live abroad you attend a college, or you work or interact with main stream (white) society in any way you cant avoid suffering injustice, you are constantly reminded that you are different but not different in a nice way, different in a way which suggests that you are less of a person than they are.

As a result many blacks in the west suffer - high unemployment, poor housing, poor access to health care, high incarceration rates, fragmentation of the family unit and many other social evils brought about as a direct result of racial discrimination.

I can only speak for the UK, but im sure similar situations obtain in north america and canada but blacks here are more likely to suffer mental health problems and be institutionalised moreso than any other group in this country.

Also the criminal justice system treats blacks much more harshly than whites and in fact despite blacks in this country making up only 5% of the total population we constitute 11% of the prison population.

The media's representation of blacks particularly africans is relentlessly negative, depicting us as victims, i am sick to my stomach of seeing pictures of starving african children with flies in the corners of their mouths in war torn hell holes on tv. Im sick and tired of seeing adverts on tv appealing to middle class whites to contribute 50p a month to build a bore hole in some godforsaken hell hole in africa, im sick and tired of watching documentaries about prepubescent black south african girls being despoiled by gangs of animalistic black south african men, im sick of seeing "fair trade" posters with pictures of emaciated african children, im sick of watching documentaries about how HIV AIDS is decimating the population of africa - THIS IS WHY EVERY NATIONALITY IN THE WORLD looks down on africans THE WESTERN MEDIA HAS DESTROYED THE IMAGE OF THE AFRICAN and we are not helping as many of us are ignorant as to their agenda towards us.

until a great black nation is founded which is powerful enough to stand up to the west and take control of its economic and political destiny, blacks will continue to catch hell in the west, so if your friend is mentally resilient enough to absorb all of the above tell him/her to proceed.
Great Post! believe me America is no different.

You experience it everywhere. I thot one girl was stripped unclothed by a police officer in Nigeria a while back.

The worst is even the African Americans to Africans.

Whites are even more subtle about theirs and they try to be politically correct but some Akatas would just dump it in your face

Tell you stink, Your language sounds like click click, Your name sounds like rumpelstiltskin and whatever.

The good thing is most Africans abroad work hard and make more money so in most cases they cant really do much about their hatred
this is 100% true mehn. going to high school in US was like hell on earth. The type of insults handed out by AA's at that time is better imagined. Kai, i remember just all the name callings, African booty scratcher, spearthrower, this went on in the classrooms, hallways, gym, cafeteria. Thank God for tough skin and African pride, eventually i realized these people only respect violence so I head butt this kid on the bridge of his nose in class one day, see blood everywhere, after serving a short suspension i gained a new found respect. Of course i am not recommending that anyone should solve their issues with violence but sometimes you have to handle your biz.
