i think Jonathan explored the most expedient route by shuffling the cabinet instead of axing folks. He is in office for few months before the election drama begins, there is little time to vet new candidates and  seek senate confirmations.  He has pretty much castrated Andoakaa by making him minister of special duties and even more brilliantly shuffled Ibrahim Kazaure away from Saudi Arabia where he has been busy protecting Yaradua's interest and remember this is the same man that once said Nigerian will beg Yaradua to run for a second term.

Every successful artist attempts to exploit some sort of gimmick or advantage to gain fans. In Nneka case i get the sense that the core of her artistry is to spread the message of love first and foremost and music comes after. I see nothing wrong with that and she shouldn't be condemned for it. Besides how many artist from Nigeria are out there trying to draw attention to the issues like injustice, exploitation, hypocrisy in Africa. Musically, i find very little appeal to John Lennon's music but you cant deny the strength of his political activism, Nneka is similar in a way.

We have a bunch of chameleons in govt, more than likely Jonathan will consolidate power and all parties will remain kangpe behind him.  Impeachment proceedings will more than likely take place to remove Yaradua out of the picture totally.

Ahh kpele, Amodu gone, Aondoakaa gone, is shaping up to be a good year.  Besides, whats the fuss about, he chaperoned some decent players to tournaments and the results had little to do with the coaches abilities.

Jonathan is too kind, he would've gotten my support if he caged aondokaa in Yankari game reserve.

They are both talented musicians. Ive seen both perform live and listened to their material extensively, they both sounded amazing . Its unfair to put either one down for the other, just celebrate the fact that we are exporting great talent.

In my opinion, Nneka is much more charming and infectious.  She pulls you in with her music, personality and lyrics on first listen, which is why she is gaining a cult like following across the world.  Just go on her facebook page and youtube to witness how she affects fans.  If she lives up to expectations she is going to become an icon, mark my words.

It's a damning indictment of the state of security in Lagos when every home, business, structure or facility must be fenced off like a prison in order to keep out miscreants. There was a time, when I was still quite young, we would walk from school and sit around the open plaza in front of city hall waiting for our parents to end work and take us home. It's commendable that the state has renovated the building, but I see despair when I look at pictures of Lagos with security fence surrounding every building. Public parks are fenced off. Shopping malls are fenced off. Even the police stations are walled off like prisons.

I see photographs of the state secretariat in Ikeja and how government has partitioned itself from the citizens for fear of armed robbers. I've been to many communities in the US and Europe and I have yet to see a seat of government that had a fence around it. The idea of a walled-off seat of government will be anathema to the American psyche. It does nothing but isolate government from the governed, symbolically.

Unfortunately, the walled fence has become regimented into the Nigerian psyche. There is nothing to celebrate here!

Good point. It wasn't long ago Lagos govt. demanded the removal of street gates. They should serve as a role model and eradicate gates from state properties.
