The Bible is our standard of constitution on earth, Romans 15:4 said, whatsoever things were written, had a reason for which it was written, and that is to learn from past heroes, you can't call yourself a Christian and you do not behold the word of God. Christianity is more than morals.

5. Know who you are in Christ through the word, there are many blessing God has promised you as a Christian, lest the devil take an advantage of you, get to know the word, cause its your right as a Christian to have the grace to keep you holy. Because Himself has took the tookable. Matt8:17

6. Seek and put the Kingdom first. Let God Lead, consider Gods view before taking any decision, ask yourself, am I expected to do this and that as a Christian, reason with Christian friends that knows the word.

7. Seek to be filled with the fullness of God and be a carrier of Gods power through the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Eph3:19, remember we are to be like Christ as we journey into God.

8. Learn the art of giving Ephesians 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Blessed are the merciful

9. Lay hold on a better living, knowing that God want you to prosper and be in good health, as your soul prosper. God wants the best for you as a Christian and you need to ask and enforce them, cause trust me, the devil would fight it as it fought the angel to answer Daniels prayer Daniel 10:12-13

10. Ask God for intimacy, that I may know Him. The primary purpose of our creation as man is to fellowship with God, lemme ask, have you ever considered what we would be doing on earth or praying for if man never fell.

11. Preach the gospel, your feet been shod with the preparation of the Gospel, the best form of defense is attack. As you study and grow in God, don't forget the great commissione, be ye perfect cause your heavenly Father seeks perfection among your members

12. Always know how dangerous you are to the devil and be dangerous likewise. The devil would make you seem like a piece of trash, but keep confessing to yourself, am the right standing of God in Christ Jesus.

13. Learn faith confession, death and life are in the power of the tongue, they that loveth it, shall eat the fruit thereof. Faith confession is the act of enforcing and decree what you want to established by saying it and saying it over and over again with an understanding of what you are saying and confession. Confession are not prayers so to say, they are decree and the form part of our prayer.

14. Understand the interplay between faith, grace and redemption. Read books by Kenneth E Hagin and E W Kenyon, get a shelf of books either on your phone or in your room.

15. Know what God would have you to do all time. God wants to communicate many things to you personally, that's why Jesus said, when the spirit of truth comes, he shall direct you into all truth, teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance. The assignment of the Holy Spirit is in giving you guidance. John 14:26, John16:12-13

16. Come to understand that you are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. Kenneth Hagin is an authority in that area, get his PDF on the three dimension of man.

17. Get a Bible based church to attend, the earthly family and have as many Christian friends. God has set some in the church, some Apostle, some Prophets, some Evangelist, some Teachers and some Pastors to fed you spiritually. Eph4:11-13, 1 Corin12:28

18. Pray that God help you to stay faithful and committed. Paul said, I have fought the good fight, . . . I have kept . . . God help me to stay closer to you, blessed are those who's hunger and thirst is after righteousness.

19. Change your friends and those increase your possibility to sin. Jesus said, if your hand or eyes causes. . . , get rid of whatsoever causes. Iron sharpeth iron, show me your friends and I would tell you where you would end up in eternity.

20. Change your playlist, if you love a genre of music, get a substitute in the Christian line, and with time, I believe you should come to a point where all you do is the likes of Hillsong, Jesus culture, Tasha Cobbs and the likes. Get some Christian gbedu and praises that would keep your feet dancing.

Yea...I really meant what I am saying...thats one of the reasons I dont go to church all the time. How can somebody go to church to worship God, and when its time to praise as everybody stands up, you will see one mighty something staring at you in skimpy tight light gown and confusion will set in. Person wey carry clean heart go church go now carry dirty mind come back.

My brother, may i recommend a 5 pronged approach which should be of immense help in combating this situation? 1. Complete surrender to God; you can't help yourself by your power. Will power would only last for a while before you give in. Only God working through you can overcome. The arm of flesh would fail you woefully (See psalm 3). Always lean on God & never try to let go. Ask the Holy Spirit to reign over your heart.
2. Prayer- let it become something you enjoy doing. Constantly seek God's face & lay this issue & any other issue at His feet. When you are tempted, begin to pray and cast out that spirit. Jesus said "watch & pray, that you would not fall into temptation".
3. constant meditation on the word of God would cure those cravings & unclean thoughts. I call it aggressive word therapy. We all have one Spiritual illness or the other but dogged application of God's word is always of immense help. Ramp up the rate at which you consume scripture, memorizing & confessing verses & little by little, you would see that you would lose appetite for lustful imaginations. Sin would gradually start losing its allure & you would be able to see past the temporary gratification it promises to what it really is; poison to the soul & spirit. Jesus said in the gospel of john that we are made clean by the words He has spoken & the psalmist says that He hid God's word in his heart so he would not sin. It would get to a point that once your mind starts to entertain such dirty thoughts, instinctively, the word of God would rise to attack them. For instance in the situation you just mentioned, Holy Spirit could instantly bring to your mind romans 8:6 or john 6:63 & you would immediately attack the spirit of lust with prayer & confessions.
4. Fasting & self mortification - you might ask what how not eating can help. Lemme explain. 1st, fasting transcends abstinence from food & drink, it also entails forgoing pleasures and vices whilst focusing on prayer & contemplation of the things of God. Most time the devil uses the urges of our body to lead us into sin. That's why sometimes, it seems that the urge to sin is so great, that if one doesn't do it, one feels very uncomfortable a times like he/she is dying. Now isn't that something similar to feeling hunger pangs?(OK in hunger & thirst, 1 would actually die but not immediately, a normal human can actually last @ least 3 days without food & water) so when 1 fasts, 1 is learning how to be disciplined & not be controlled by 1's urges.
5. Praise & worship - i'm still experimenting with this (largely because those other 4 methods are so effective & impulsive) but i believe it would be very efficient. It would serve to remind us that Jesus has won the war against sin. The devil is already defeated. He's only trying to deceive one into joining his losing side by temptation. All we need to do is to continue walking in that path of victory.
Sorry for the long write-up but i felt it was necessary. Let me leave you with some scripture portions that helps me 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5 (please check your copy of the bible o! Just to make sure i'm correct) "for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS & EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF ABOVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD AND BRINGING INTO CAPTIVITY EVERY THOUGHT TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST.

However there is a kind of teaching that is flowing from the pulpit to the people. Almost a self exaltation. Of me v. Them. No man has ever attain rightousenes by works. That was why Christ came in the first place. we are tempted on all side this days. When you write, write in proper humility. Almighty Paul wrote. "Things I want to do, I do them not..rather those things I do not wish to do are what I find myself doing" If you have the spirit of intermidation, those "things" could be more illumunated for you.

We are not justified by works. Rather by faith. If Abraham was justify by works, the scripture says he would have something to boast off. Rather it was said if him that he (Abraham) believe God and was counted for him as rightouseness.

All have sinned and fallen shot of his glory. I do not encourage sin( should we continue in sin that grace may abound) however it please God to judge not according to our works.

On the subject of heaven, let's not get ahead o ourselves. Let's focus on earth. The kingdom Christ said is within you. Rightouseness, peace and joy. Bless are the pure in heart for they shall see God..

Truly none is justified by works however don't forget that in the book of James, it is written that faith without works is quite dead. What that means is that our works are actually the fruits of our faith & remember where the Lord Jesus Christ said that by the fruits produced, people shall be known; that a good tree doesn't produce corrupt fruits & vice versa. So while works are not the basis of our salvation, they serve as indicators of the true presence of faith in Jesus, which is the precursor of the grace through which we are saved. Works represent faith in action. Remember in Matthew 7 what the Lord said He would tell those people who don't DO the will of His Father "I know ye not; depart from me ye WORKERS of iniquity". So anyone who claims to have faith and doesn't avail 1self to the grace of God, yielding to the Holy Spirit so to bear the fruits of the Spirit & this person abounds in the WORKS of the flesh saint Paul listed in his letter to the Galatians thinking that works are not needed, that individual is conducting a grand deception on him /herself. Didn't St Paul instruct us all to WORK out our salvation in fear & trembling? Wasn't it Jesus who said that every man shall be judged by the works of his hands? Works are not bad or evil & we need to abound in good works as a testament to our faith in The Lord Jesus; what isn't good is boasting in our works (like the pharisee in the parable Jesus told) & thinking that it makes us better candidates of heaven than others.

Punch newspaper carried a story about the unsanitary practices in oko oba abattoir in Lagos sometime ago. They said that a modern meat processing unit was built but the butchers stubbornly refused to use it opting instead for slab in spite of the warnings that it was unhealthy. They revealed that even sick animals were being slaughtered & sold due to intimidation of the appropriate authorities by the cattle sellers & butchers. Try and see if you can google the story. We are our own enemies in this country.

People change church for different reasons, if you attend a church and it looks like everybody in the church are in a competition against one another, who's using the latest car, wearing the most expensive designers, who is using the latest and expensive phones, church have become a place to do pepper Dem gang, people using iphones in the church looks down on tecno users etc. So you might want to look for a more spirit filled church

Or you might ignore such pettiness and focus on the message preached by the minister, being a doer of the word of God & how to cooperate with the grace of God so as to enter heaven instead of the phones, cars or clothes used by others. The way i see it, its a choice. You either allow the petty distractions of materialism affect you or you decide to look unto Jesus Christ, the author & finisher of our faith knowing that Vanities upon Vanity, all is vanity. That 'competition' you mentioned is most likely unofficial. The fact that 1 noticed such things & feels 'oppressed' is a sign that a certain measure of pride lurks within 1.Nobody tells you point blank that you are not welcome there so therefore kindly remain there. Take it as a lesson in humility & relate with them normally, asking God to close 1s eye to distractions.

It's primarily because a lot of people have left following Jesus to chase the ephemeral things of life. To some of them, it's all a trend. If another place can promise them a better package than the previous place, off they zoom. I once left the church i was born into in my university days. I even got baptized at that church because i felt the church i was in was forced on me but thank God, i studied the teachings of the church i was about to leave and saw that i was about to do was like trading a goldmine for a few grams of gold. People who change church because of challenges they encounter don't know that challenges are part of life. If 1 challenge brought you to a church, certainly, another 1 would take you out of there to another church and so would the cycle continue.

What is happening in ahiara diocese is very sad but the pope has spoken & it is expected that the priests & laity there obey or be disrobed & denied the sacraments. The catholic church isn't a place to entertain such pettiness & ego trips. Every priest during his ordination takes a vow of obedience & to default is to attract sanctions. However, it's not the whole of imo state it's happening; other dioceses such as owerri & okigwe are not involved.

Their words are just that; words. Can you compare this to the sufferings endured by the martyrs? Our progenitors in the Faith that were thrown to lions & devoured whilst people watched cheering. I’m not surprised that you’re confused
because it is true to say both that you don’t
need to go to church to be a Christian and
that if you don’t go to church, you’re not a
Christian. Let me explain.
If we were to narrow down what it means
to be a Christian, the best place to look is at
one of the people who Jesus said was a
Christian. If you remember the thief on the
cross next to Jesus ( Luke 23:39-43), Jesus
promises this man that he will be with him
in paradise. This man never got to go to
church, and yet he is a Christian because he
trusts in Jesus. So in that sense it is true to
say that you don’t have to be a church goer
to be a Christian. In fact as soon as you say
you “have to do something” to be a
Christian you are in danger of getting the
gospel message wrong.
However, the Bible has no concept of
individual spirituality - that is Christianity is
not something personal that has nothing to
do with anyone else. That is a very modern
way of thinking. We can see it in the above
passage, the way the man expresses his
trust in Jesus is that shifts his allegiances to
Jesus’ kingdom. He sees that Jesus is the
true king and joins his kingdom, he joins a
group of people - those ruled by Jesus the
king.
If you are a Christian, then you are a
member of God’s church. The church is now
your family, and they are God’s gift to us in
living Christian lives. We see this in Romans
8:28-30. Those who are saved are saved so
that Jesus would be the big brother of many
brothers. God is in the business of making a
family (have a read of Romans . This can
also be seen in the fact that most of the
instructions for Christians are done in the
plural, there are very few (if any)
instructions to individuals. (The Greek of the
NT distinguishes between singular and
plural ‘you’ English doesn’t do that anymore).
The Christian life was never meant to be
lived solo, God has gifted each member of
his church to serve one another, you can’t
do that solo. It is near impossible to live a
Christian life alone, it runs counter to
everything God has done for us. However,
some people can’t help but live alone. The
thief on the cross could not join a church, he
had no choice; but where we have a choice,
we really should become a part of God’s
church.
It’s like someone who gets married, but
never moves in with their husband. It is true
that you can be married without living
together, and there may be extreme
circumstances that you can think of where
someone may get married and not live
together (if someone is on their death bed
for example). But a real marriage involves
relationship. Becoming a Christian means
being a part of God’s family.
So my advice for your sister-in-law is, if she
can join a church near to her, she should do
so. If there is nothing holding her back (and

My comment reflects my opinion so i might not be right. Kindly search scripture to validate what i'm about to say. Jesus left us two entities when He ascended into heaven. He left the church which He built on peter (& other apostles & disciples), then He sent the Holy Spirit to that same church on the day of Pentecost when they were gathered in one accord. It was from this church in the union and with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that was able to compile the Bible and spread Christianity around the world. Anyone who says that with purposeful avoidance & isolation of the church, he/she wants to enter heaven in my humble opinion is being deceived & it's highly likely that the enemy is trying to isolate that individual so as to inflict huge damage on him/her. Saying that because there's unrighteousness in the church, you don't want to go is like saying because there are sick people in the hospital, you wouldn't go for checkup; answer me who loses in the end? That's actually what the church is; a Spiritual hospital. People with all manner of Spiritual diseases & ailments are found there. Jesus is our physician & He's willing to heal whoever is willing to cooperate & submit to Him. Whoever isn't, He doesn't chase away & He doesn't force treatment on that person; He still makes His rounds hoping that they experience a change of heart before it's too late. Isn't it scripture that tell us that the church is the bride of Christ & that Christ is the head of the church and we all are His members? If the church is the bride of Christ and it is written that the 2 shall become 1, isn't shunning the church akin to shunning Jesus? Look at the human body; do the parts work in isolation? Can the legs say it doesn't need the hands or can the heart say it doesn't need the lungs? Yes, schisms in the church has made going to church seem unpalatable but even if one feels he/she doesn't have any reason to attend, be like Jesus and do it to fulfill all righteousness. Going to church wouldn't stop one from personally reading the bible, praying & having a personal relationship with God but to say one wants to do it alone smacks of hubris & self-righteousness. Saying you are better than most of the people found in church is being like that pharisee in the parable Jesus told who exalted himself & was pouring contempt on the tax collector instead of asking God for mercy in humility. It is pride and a proud person can't serve God in Spirit & truth. Pride is what caused the fall of lucifer & turned him & his fellow rebelling angels into the devil & demons respectively. Even the righteousness that 1 thinks 1 has; is it by our own working? Isn't it the grace of God that saves us & makes us worthy? Were we not once in sin before the Good Shepherd found us, cleansing us with His life & blood? St Paul said (in romans) that ALL have sinner & fallen short of God's glory. Every sinner is a yet to be reformed saint & every saint is a reformed sinner. If 1 truly believes in God, He wouldn't shun going to church because someway, somehow God would use those seemingly sinful & weak vessels to positively impart on the person (after all, didn't scripture say that God used the weak, foolish things of this world to confound the wise & strong so that no flesh would be able to boast?)

Be careful when you make remarks about the catholic church. Unless you are 100% sure, please don't say anything that you can't substantiate. That church you are trying to shade has Jesus as its founder & simon peter (who once spoke death to Ananias & saphirrah) as its 1st pope. It's obvious you don't know that the word "catholic" is originated from the latin "catholicos" meaning universal. The fact that a lot of igbos in Nigeria are catholics doesn't mean that it has become tribalistic. Mass is usually conducted in either English (mostly) , latin (rare) or the language of the place the parish is located (which is usually specified) or which majority of the attendees understand.

To be honest I don’t trust any guy or lady not to cheat, and i don’t get so emotional about it when it happens, I just see it as my cue to return the gesture with her smoking hot close friend and lead her on until I see someone that deems fit to take her place, then I rub it to her face. karma right

 I have never been caught cheating ( well with someone I’m in a real relationship with, otherwise is not cheating) but my girlfriend smh.

Cheating never pays. 1 is only doing his or herself a whole ton of damage. Bad habits are addictive & hard to break. In the end, it would put the parties involved in trouble. Anyone involved should desist, repent & ask God for guidance on how to break that enslaving habit before it leads the person to somewhere undesirable.

Honestly i don't blame her. I blame the randy, lecherous members of my sex who allow their joystick do all the thinking for them. They are the ones who give all of us a bad name. Instead of them to accept personal responsibility when they are caught, they hide under the cover of 'manliness'. Tell me, what is manly about cheating on your spouse? The image of a grownup man sneaking in & out of motels for sexual escapades doesn't evoke any feeling of manliness in me. Is chasing skirts up & down now a thing of pride or achievement as a man? Even if you don't respect the woman you married, fear God. Or do you think that wedding ceremonies are a jamboree? If you like continue cheating; when your soul stands in front of your Creator on the day of judgement, tell Him you were just being a man & see what happens. Typical Nigerian mentality wouldnt question why our yams are needed by the west. Is it for direct consumption or industrial purposes? We don't want 2 know. Meanwhile we would be the first to import those finished products with foreign exchange.

For example, you hear numerous invitations to seminars on how to make millions from the export of wood charcoal. What the people you are selling the charcoal for, we don't know and we don't care to ask. Imagine if by some secret technological intervention, those people have found a way to rearrange the carbon atoms to that of a diamond? But no, we don't think like that. All that matters to us is to get the money. It wasn't until i watched a foreign documentary that i discovered that charcoal was essential in the production of pig iron. I bemoaned our folly that day. We were busy being encouraged to ship materials to boost another country's iron & steel industry while ours was comatose. When we need metals to build, we would then import tonnes from overseas and we think we can develop with such intellectual deficiency.

My brother, there is no need to advertise the catholic church. Why do you think that we don't rent billboards to urge people to attend any of our parishes? We believe that God doesn't boast. He's a silent hard worker; it's left for we, His children to seek Him in the innermost recesses of our hearts. Also, there is no need to slight any of our separated brethren. My brother , don't let people decide for you. Pray to God & try to deepen your relationship with Him. Study the Holy scripture extensively, focusing on passages that reveal how to crucify the flesh & how to die to self. Always ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten & teach you. Pray, pray & continue praying. if you can, fast so as to mortify your body & bring it under submission. Always rely on God 4 grace & diligently seek His face. Try to be a doer of the words you read In the Bible. Let them be your guide. Let them always resonate in your mind as you do anything, especially when you feel tempted to sin. Then ask Him to direct you to where instructions guiding people to Heaven are being preached. Start by attending churches close to you. When you go, ask God to give you & pray that the Holy Spirit grants you discernment to be able to test the spirit of the messages you hear. 1 core thing you should look for in any church you intend to attend is whether they preach about the cross. Any church that doesn't teach that to follow Christ, 1 should deny himself & pick up his cross in the footsteps of our Lord is being economical with the truth. Avoid places that prioritizes material prosperity, signs & wonders over salvation of the soul. Avoid places where people aren't admonished to forsake iniquity & strive to do the will of God. Don't attend a place just because they have a good choir. The long & short of what i'm saying is let the Holy Spirit & knowledge that heaven is your desired destination be your guide in this decision.
