It's already bad enough that people are ignorant of the fact that tithing is not supposed to be applicable for Christians because of its origins in Judaism & principles behind it (I explained this in a post long ago) but to now tell someone who's not working and earning wage or salary to pay tithe is despicable. Jesus didn't receive tithe neither did the early apostles so why is it some people who claim to be followers of Christ nowadays are demanding tithe? The economy would stabilize right until oil prices crash again. We never learn in this country. Forgive me for sounding callous but I pray oil prices should continue to crash & never recover. It has been more of a curse than a blessing to us. We in Nigeria (especially our leaders) need to suffer well so we would have sense. Oil has robbed us of our senses. Petrodollars has made us not to think of how 2 successfully diversify our economy. It has led to the death of the manufacturing sector because since we have dollars, we prefer 2 import almost everything rather than produce them. It has made politics not 2 be about service to the people, sacrifice & nation building but about who gets d fattest share of the national cake hence people are ready to kill, betray, cheat, lie & commit all sorts of atrocities to gain power. When they attain these positions, they then proceed to ruthlessly loot the treasury and enriched themselves, their families & their cronies without consideration of the people that they are supposed to serve. We the common people are not even better. We are willing to subvert and sabotage the National interest because of personal gratification. That's why 1 would hear how generator importers are thwarting efforts of the government to provide uninterrupted power supply.
