4. STUDENTS: They have lost 8 months which can not be recovered. FG insisted that from 2024 earn allowance will be generated by universities. That means there will be great increase in tuition fees. Students may have to pay between 150k to 1 Millon depending on the course of study and school. STUDENTS ARE AMONG THE LOSERS

4. CHRIS NGIGE: He fought ASUU and the minister of education. Insisted on increase in tuition fees. He did what he could to frustrated the effort of negotiation committee. He blackmailed the presidency and probably tried to use ASUU to frustrate his political party against next election. At the end his effort was in vain. His political party is calling for his sack. He is seen in bad light by ASUU, other ministers and his party. NGIGE IS AMONG THE LOSERS.

Guy, I don't know for you o but as for me, Governor Chris Ngige is a VERY BIGGER WINNER in this whole drama.

Future generation will remember him as the character who solidly stood his ground to cut down the excesses of this mad union called ASUU , which was really really getting out of hand.

Are you aware that the strike could have ended since if Ngige accepted the 180% salary increment ASUU proposed for its members as against the 10% salary increment they proposed for other unions in the university?

But Ngige using his wisdom plus the backing of the FG too, knew the type of imbalance and disunity and animosity such a move will bring to the university system across the nation and even in the Civil Service in general, and stopped that evil plan.

That is one of the major reasons why Osodeke and co. would rather want you to see Ngige as an enemy but the fact remains that Ngige put an end to their greedy tendencies, and reset their wasted brains sharperly by registering CONUA which will further limit the tendencies of ASUU for calling for strike every now and then.

ASUU thought they always knew how to play dirty by always calling the shots and never shifting grounds, but Ngige smartly took the case to the courts and the courts acted accordingly, thus rendering ASUU incapable of making any further moves.

It was a checkmate and ASUU was left completely exposed and confused.

To be frank with you, if you are going into any form of negotiation, you need men like Chris Ngige to be in your team.

Therefore, on this day, I celebrate Chris Ngige for helping get back our students back to school!

Hate it or love it, that is exactly what everyone involved in this whole issue wanted: to see our students back to school.

Everyone, except the greedy ASUU of course, who even declared an indefinite strike to that regard without thinking for a moment the impact of such debilitating move on our youths in school and their family as a whole.

Some people are praising Gbajabiamila for his intervention but ask yourself this question, what exactly did Gbajabiamila bring to the table that FG didn't offer to ASUU during their negotiation?

To me, the only thing Gbajabiamila did was to give ASUU a face saving opportunity to end the useless strike.

ASUU knew that this strike could have ended ASUU as a union, if care was not taken.

That was why they quickly rushed to call off the useless strike even though it has not been long they declared indefinite strike.

Like I have always maintained, the only people I pity in all this sordid tale is the Nigerian Students.

God bless Governor Chris Ngige for taking this matter to court.

If not, ASUU would have continued to play Nigerian students like table tennis.

It's not even a matter of negotiating with a new president because the president might accept whatever deal presented to him or her, as long as it will help him or her to win the election, only to jettison the whole deal later on.

It is a matter of ASUU being diligent and truthful enough with themselves to work with what they already have.

You may find it difficult to believe but the federal government has spent quite a huge sum of money on tertiary education.

Part of the major problem ASUU has is that no matter how much money they are given, their products at the end of the day have always remained poor with nothing to write home about it.

Nobody likes to continue to throw money to a business that doesn't yield good profit.

If the end product of what ASUU is producing improves, don't be surprised when you see investors coming from all corners to invest in our education.

Therefore, it's time for ASUU to look inwards.

What I found amazing is, how ASUU expect university sector to flourish, even when all other sectors/aspect of our national lives are in comatose...

Being the highest body of intellectual in the nation, and having highest academic achievement in all fields of our human endeavour, one will expect them to know that, what is happening in Nigeria is abnormal and should not be tolerated.

They have professors of political science, professors of economics, professors of accounting, even professors on ICT, what about agriculture etc. So they know that our country is being run aground.

I expect ASUU to take charge of the agitation against misrule, I expect them to fight, not for salary increase, but for good governance, transparency and accountability etc. I expect them to invest more in voters' education and encourage active participation of citizens in governance.

They should have seen the trajectory the nation is heading, as a result of the recklessness of our leaders, and call them to order...

I know such feat is not easy, but what sacrifice is too much for the survival of our nation, and for humanity?

I expect them to be on the forefront, in conjunction with NLC and CSO, to free us from the bondage bequeathed to us by the politicians and even the elites.

Let me tell you the simple truth that even the school will do anything to hide from you.

Your certificates don't really matter that much again as it used to matter when our parents went to school.

So while you are focusing on making good grades while in school, also focus on learning one or two skills that you will need to keep you going after you graduate.

Hahahaha I think ASUU executives are just mainly fighting for that 8 months salary cause they might have promised they colleagues that inorder to hold on to the strike failing to achieve that might dent ASUU stronghold.

Their biggest problem now is that the longer they continue to strike; the more months of salaries they are going to lose.

Earlier, I shared a recipe of fried rice. This is however a reviewed recipe and a banger.

To prepare this, you would need
Chicken (marinated for a day or 2 hours) or any protein of choice
Liver or kidney (optional)
Green peas
Runner beans
Carrot
Green and yellow pepper
Thyme and curry
Bouillon cubes
Pepper,onion, ginger, garlic
Rice (washed with hot water and salt and placed in a drain
Vegetable oil


1. Wash properly and chop/cut/dice all the vegetables

2. Transfer your marinated chicken into a pot and cook under low heat. Add just about a cup of water to cook this. Add your wished liver after the aforementioned has cooked for 10 minutes. Once meat is well cooked, fry your chicken in vegetable oil.

3. To make your fried rice sauce, in some oil, add your cooked and chopped liver. Allow it to fry, then add some sliced onion, washed green peas, carrots and runer beans. Stir continuously. Adjust seasoning and add some fresh pepper pounded with ginger and garlic. Once this sauce is well cooked, add your green pepper, stir and take it off the heat immediately.

4. In a clean hot pot and on low heat, add some butter and vegetable oil, fresh thyme, curry, ginger and garlic. Afterwards, pour in your wished rice and stir continuously from top to bottom. This frying process would help the rice appear better when cooked. Stir continuously for 10 to 15 minutes and then add your meat stock. You may not need to add seasoning because the meat stock is well seasoned. Note that the water should he same level with your rice or slightly higher. Seal your pot properly and allow your rice cook. If the eater dries up and your rice is not soft, do not add water, seal pot properly and allow it to simmer until rice becomes soft. When this happens, mix your sauce with the cooked rice....
