Corrinthians: Let us blame Tinubu.
I'm beginning to doubt if Tinubu isn't the current president. Dude's got his fingers on all control buttons, so much so he's responsible for everything that happens in the country, according to we Igbos. Everything na Tinubu. |

Obaaderemi2: I know but maybe if the president is seen to be serious, the governors might take a page out of his playbook.
I just don't like this Buhari guy. He's too lenient with the herdmen and bandits. He is lenient but if the local Governments are reformed and the Governors do their job, you quell village tensions and crises before they get bigger and begin to attract sponsorship/arms from within and outside. On a normal day, local Government vigilantes would normally nip these things in the bud at their infant stages when they are yet to make news on a broader scale in the country. Buhari of course is also to be blamed, but Nigerians put too much focus on the president and do not even care about their Local Council Chairmen and allow their Governors get away with much. No matter what your favourite president does, this anomaly has to be corrected greatly. |

Obaaderemi2: Leadership and progress will always have an arrowhead. There must always be a leader ready to throw himself into the breach for others to follow and be up and doing. Those governors left to their own devices would just loot their states dry. But the president does not control the Governors. |

Obaaderemi2: By the time the primordial Buhari leaves next year and we bring in a more progressive leader, Nigeria will begin to be seen as a leader in Africa. In eight years time, we'll be solidly number one in industrial output. Who then is that progressive leader? To me, I only hope progress continues no matter who comes in and we have at least 30 competent state Governors. More competent state Governors and a reformation of local Governments is the true missing piece in my opinion. |

CheapHomes1: Are you saying that since 2015, the objective of using BVN/NIN to stop kidnapping has not been achieved? Yes that's what I'm saying. This is the final blow to the problem of kidnapping because with the BVN/NIN combined with cashless policy, the terrorists cannot avoid Banks and would fear that they would be traced. |

CheapHomes1: You haven't answered the question I asked
When buhari came in 2015, he made BVN compulsory threatening to block bank accounts without BVN. His justification was that it would be used to stop 419, corruption and kidnapping. Years later, thru patanmi they made NIN compulsory threatening to block phone lines. Justification? NIN will be used to stop 419, corruption and kidnappings.
Pls which of these objectives mentioned above have been achieved so far? All of those objectives mentioned above would be achieved when this new policy comes into play to combine with the previous policies. |

CheapHomes1: If they are, how come you can't answer the question...What is the benefit of the policy? Kidnapping would reduce. More taxes for the Government and less dependence on oil. Easier financial data collection for growth. New fintech innovations. A more formalized economy. Discourages bribery and corruption. Opens the way for a credit based system/economy. Too numerous mehn. |
