popizaino: I think he is confusing Quality of Life with development thus his question. The economic activities in Lagos together with the industries and commercial activities will always make it more developed than Abuja even though the later offers a better quality of life than the former.
Well in that sense I agree with you but the size of Lagos is too small relative to the number of people it has and would continue to have, except the infrastructure in Ogun state improves so more people can live there. The size of Abuja is okay for the 4 million people it has presently and for even 8 million people in the nearest future. The congestion, traffic, rowdiness, stress, and waste management system of many parts of mainland Lagos have to be improved, and the mainland is just at the centre of lagos.
theenchanter: developed and beautiful are two different things, Abuja is developed, no doubt, Abuja is beautiful, 100%.
But lagos is more developed than Abuja because almost every part of Lagos is developed. Abuja is still in it's development stage, maybe stage 2 or 3 according to it's development pla. Not every part of Abuja is developed, unlike Lagos.
Yeah, na the "dae" wey dey ur name and the way u write make me come to that conclusion
theenchanter: u're very correct with this. Most Africans thinks Lagos is d capital of Nigeria. I noticed that when I watched some YouTubers asking about the capitals of countries.
Even the Kenyans thought d same when they came here and we're dumbfounded when they realized that Nigeria's capital is not Lagos.
Although "developed" is relative, I still believe Lagos is more developed than Abuja but Abuja is more beautiful than Lagos.
Okay, in what sense are you using developed though? Abuja has better roads in general than Lagos right? and they are thesame size (as far as I know). In many parts of Abuja, people enjoy up to 21 hours of electricity on average (especially in non rainy season). I know lagos has more jobs and skyscrapers, but in terms of good road networks and serenity in a city on average, Abuja takes it right?
samorobo: A little real estate boom(more office spaces) and Abuja will be up there with serious city across the globe.Already if you ask me I would say Abuja has nailed the basics.
For a ghost city I see more car traffics and cranes than expected.
Nigeria is perhaps one of the only two countries in Africa where the capital is not the most popular city even though the capital is the most developed in the country in terms of roads and electricity.
rvp2018: I don't think we should hide our poverty but of course it's not all poverty porn - there is good part of africa. Africa is poor. The west is rich. Those are not stereotypes - but yes we need more balanced reporting. I dont think there is some conspiracy - some come for fun side of Africa - some come for poverty porn.
Bottomline: Once you fix your city like Kagame has done in Kigali - it's gonna be hard to do the poverty porn.
Sure, the point is should we Africans also travel to ghettos in America to do poverty porn? since ghettos exist there too, because as you see in the Kenyan video, he left all of the adventure in Kenya including the culture of the massais ( can't remember the spelling) to present poverty in a part of Mombasa as his culture shock.
For those Kenyans who come here supporting those white Youtubers showing the slums and poverty in Nigeria, watch this video from a Nigerian Youtuber to see how this American guy went to portray Kenya to the world. You'll see some of these guys are just in for the poverty porn and it's not just about Nigeria but a quest to reinforce stereotypes so the western world would continue to feel superior as a superb race in the world. cc Mkenya, Shma, mtis.
SUFFERInSMILIIN: Another fake statistics how can Fiji Afghanistan have higher IQ than Japan Nigeria and South Africa keep on getting your fake statistics
Have you met Afghans before? They are usually very smart people.
munooo: When you say Nigeria has world class infrastructure I am lost. I mean mention the so called infrastructure. I live in Abuja and honestly beside some good roads and fine houses, abuja is just like any other backward Nigeria city. Rwanda is not just about the cleanliness but the system. They have a system that works. Please compare our Health care system, Education or even Electrical Power to Rwanda . Nigeria is not working. The system is broken. We all keep deceiving ourselves and reason why our crooks politicians keep destroying the country because we all allow it.
If you never lived abroad before, you will think Abuja is something.
Our system is broken. Nigeria is not working. We all should wake up. Accepting the joke we call a country is insanity.
And always remember Rwanda has little and has done so much with the little they have.
So now you've shifted the topic from roads to Healthcare? nawa for una o
rvp2018, IQ is not based on a country but the individual. Many Western Young people have also used these IQ results to confirm their racist bias as well. Are you saying Kenyans have produced more intellectuals than Nigeria ? I wouldn't fight you if you want to believe that though.
mtisQ: you saw that heh!.. The good thing here in Kenya we dont encourage them to come..just visit ,spend your money then jump out..i saw comments folks talking how they are destroying Ghananians life by causing higher cost of living...Folks were taking about very high prices for simple stuff..
African Americans are our lost brothers though because majority were taken from Central and West Africa. Many of them are not happy in America and they are always made to be conscious of their race. Only in Africa, do many feel proud of being black and being who they are. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I want them to come but on the other hand more work has to be done on our Infrastructure to make them not miss America at all.
mtisQ: whats happening my Ghana people..its like everyone is not happy about your place..Have see Africa Americans an other Africans take shot at your place..just hit youtube an see what folks are posting..The Americans are saying ya charging them hundreds of dollars for a slum..am not hating but that what i read..
I've seen that video and the lady there was damn too negative in my opinion.

Well it was expected. Some of these African Americans should get off their high horses and know that in Africa we all are still developing. I saw a black American youtuber (in a 2020 video) lambast the Gambia so bad because of virtually zero development in her opinion, and in my mind, I was like what was she expecting? There is no development hence there are opportunities to make history.
obaaderemi: And yet you took your time to create about four different monikers on a Nigerian site so you could interact with Nigerians everyday. Your life must be truly hard and bad if indeed you hate Nigerians but find yourself helpless to be on a site with many Nigerians and other westafricans. wow! You are lost.
We probably have as many Doctors and IT professionals across the world as we have criminals but these people only come across the criminals. Isn't that something more about their own character and who they are? I have friends in Germany, and this year in Germany alone, there was massive employment of Nigerians in the German tech sector, some are in Nigeria and they work from home at the moment and there are testimonies of Europeans who praise the good work of these tech guys.
Currently Afrobeats is moving like never before and nollywood is breaking boundaries. So what sort of West Africans are some of these Kenyans meeting? It only shows their immediate circle and the type of people they are, lol.
trutht828: I don't dance to lyrics I don't understand
Well then that is a shame because even Non English speakers first get attracted to an English song due to the style and beats, then this prompts them to learn the lyrics.
trutht828: What manner of disjointed, almost meaningless lyrics are you guys celebrating these days sef?
When you dance to Jeruseleama or Despacito, do you also understand the lyrics? Music is Art and Art is also big on the style of presentation not just content only. The song was initially a freestyle that got leaked. It wasn't intended to be a song just freestyle in a studio but then turned out to be his greatest hit. Fireboy is one of the few Nigerian artists who is also a poet ( studied English and literature in the University) and who pays attention to lyrics.
kikuyu1: 4.25. Basic English convos even in Accra are "so so difficult. " The TRUTH will ALWAYS out! How many times have we seen that ishyt here on these pages? Waffas defending the IMPOSSIBLE as usual with such tortured syntax you'd think they learned English as a 6th or 7th language?
I agree with you because even majority of their stations on YouTube always switch to Twi or use Twi but that is great in my opinion. I wonder why you Kenyans here have a problem with this. The Germans are very smart but many Germans in small German cities struggle with English and prefer to speak German only.
I felt it the sound was a corruption of the shoop sound from Salt n Pepa. Yea. One thing is clear, the average Nigerian can make a song these days judging by the abilities of the beat makers who have their ears on what appeals to the feet of the listeners. The days of deep messages in music seem to be in our past.
Nigerians still make deep music but do you listen to them? Something like this for instance
