More schools are being built in Borno State than even before the Boko Haram crises as if to challenge BokoHaram to their face. It seems out of the ashes of the crises comes a new dawn and a new focus on the state.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFupVhJwnUY Also , Lagos redline and blue line rail projects are on course, they will be completed by next year. Kaduna-Kano rail , kano - Niger republic, Coastal rail network will also be completed by 2023, No country in Africa is currently investing in rail projects as Nigeria.
Amaechi also assured that the Lagos-Calabar rail (and PortHarcourt-Maiduguri rail also I believe) would begin January. Everything is already in place including funding and approval from cabinet. Once the lagos-Calabar rail is completed, that would certainly go a long way and would connect most of the country already.
HRprof: You have investments worth 90 millions yet you have not visited any country before and now planning to Japa to unknown country, busy advising other to follow you on a blind journey in the name of Japa My bro make we dey lie small small na. Truth be told you can not make 90 million outside Nigeria , who no go no go know. Stop using kids as excuse to Japa they are the future of Nigeria leader, developed country you want to Japa was developed by their youths and their kids of yesterday. Let’s stop this madness and stop disgracing Nigeria.
Exactly. Even majority of the high middle class citizens in Germany or UK cannot boast of 90 million naira or lands and houses.
PetroDolla2020: who gives a fvck about nigerians. i don't know why nigerians always want to feel important, when they are not. I bet it's inferiority complex or a deluded mind.
given the state nigeria finds itself, entertainment should be the last thing on your mind
mtisQ: calm your titties chanter...when we talk of development in africa we ain ttalking of creating Dubai luxury like stuff..first we feed, cloth an educate our people..then we create elysium
You are right, but looking at it another way. When we build these new expensive places for the super rich and they migrate, then the prices in their former areas would reduce to the level of the middle class who would then occupy those areas. Slowly the poor would come around in time. It's sometimes easier to build starting from scratch than to renovate.
Lindner: I know that feeling. I've seen teenagers and people in their early twenties literally becoming responsible for supporting their households (including rent) financially. Not from anything illegal but from a tech career. Their retired parents simply hands off. Some of these guys don't even have a degree. Just the intellectual resilience to keep learning. Just wondering if they'll have ever been able to make any meaning of their lives in the extremely harsh economic realities of Africa.
I visited some African countries and the story of hardship is not so different from Nigeria's.
To be honest, only South Africa has more jobs or economic opportunities than Nigeria in Subsaharan Africa at the moment, even that same South Africa have very high unemployment rate.
PetroDolla2020: You, you no like food? If you stay without food for one day, then you will see the importance of food By the way, can you imagine how it will be like to starve to death? you will be dying slowly and painfully Unfortunately, that is what millions of kenyans are going through they come here, pretend all is well in that zoo, and keep posting nonsense photos about buildings, etc
when you are starving, of what use is a "fine" building to you? kenyans are very stvpid edioots. the most f00lish people I'd ever known
It seems for you as long as you can eat well in a country, nothing else matters . The debate is over. I envy you seriously
Shma: I think so. Not so sure. YouTuber will always hype anything. Sometimes, it's not that they love the place, but because they don't want to lose followers.
Are you saying these guys were just hyping Nairobi and you don't think they were impressed?
JJOF: I've been scrolling down to see if I can find a sense filled post, and yours is it. I guess the reason must persons are pained with his statement is because they haven't yet broken through.
I'm glad you're seeing what your fellow Kenyan brother here can't see. The guide never said the boy was doing it to buy food, rather the guide said he uses the proceed to buy more copper to burn. However, the white man for some reason tells us he is doing it to buy food . I tell you the truth, they have an agenda to reinforce the stereotype of poverty and an Africa that needs the help of the saviour whites. This is why we need more of Wode Maya and Tayo Aina, or fellow black Kenyan YouTubers like African Tigress and Miss Trudy showcasing the better side of Africa not because the bad side don't exist but to avoid the danger of a single story.
Shma: I hate it when that white dude is describing the situation. He's contemptious demeanor of the highest order. "He's burning that copper to get food" like men! I hate some of these white YouTubers.

Mkenya2019: I have no problem with their hovels - at 13.17 - a group of young men - vigalantes - armed with swords and machetes - are attacking in daylight people. There are military planes circling.
And that is KANO city
Kano is a big city. I have seen other videos of Kano and it wasn't focused on communities but modern areas. So yes in communities, you would have vigilantes trying to prevent bad behaviour like smoking, drinking, stealing, etc . Military planes fly around because BokoHaram also attacked some of these areas then in their glory days like in 2013.
Are you saying you don't have villages and communities like this in Kenya? If you do, then why are you taking these videos seriously? The guy is an adventurer who prefers villages and poor communities. He wants to see something different from what he is accustomed to in Newzealand.
Shma: Oooh....., you only focus on one city... You only have Nairobi... Guys, projects undergoing in Mombasa are unmatched by any city in Kenya.
Lamu port, for instance, will be the biggest port outside SA in sub-Saharan. It has now proposed an industrial city which was opened by President Kenyatta.
Good. Showcase more of these projects and proposed projects in Mombassa and Kissumu not just Nairobi. We are tired of seeing your small CBD and your 27km road.
I agree with you though. Unfortunately in these wars and terrible conditions, there are usually some bad eggs amongst solders who stain the uniform. Same thing with the U.S in Iran. I believe those amongst the Nigerian soldiers who misbehaved should have been brought to book or should still be made to answer to whatever crime if possible. However, that is a single story. So many Nigerian soldiers in the ECOMOG suffered the highest casualty in the effort to bring peace to these countries and not all Nigerian soldiers were in support of some of the war crimes.
It is unclear just how many Nigerian soldiers were deployed to the region or how many died. But by 1999, Nigerian troops made up 80% of the Ecomog force, with about 10 000 deployed in Liberia and 11 000 in Sierra Leone, and the country suffered the heaviest troop casualties.
Corinne Dufka, from Human Rights Watch, says the organisation welcomes efforts to pursue justice. But Dufka also acknowledges the conditions Nigerian troops were forced to survive in during the war. “I met Nigerian soldiers who’d been wounded and a few who’d been tortured by the RUF or seen fellow soldiers executed, but after hospitalisation in Nigeria, they were re-deployed to Sierra Leone, and to the field of operations.” That, of course, is not an excuse for indiscipline, Dufka says, but rather a pointer to the mental conditions of Ecomog troops at the time.
Crimes against humanity committed by Ecomog troops may have been dismissed and swept under the rug for a reason: together with the United States and United Kingdom, Nigeria was one of the major funders of the court; and, as a key peace negotiator, was on the court’s management committee. So it is no surprise that the statute that created the Special Court ruled out the prosecution of peacekeeping troops, and by extension, Nigerian soldiers.
Shma: It's the way you're saying it confidently. As if you're something.
How are we incapable yet we have the 4th most dynamic city in the world? Just recently, we commissioned the largest shipyard in sub-Saharan Africa, just second to Egypt - with no minerals.
Not long ago, we opened one of the largest ports in the continent - seated in the deepest sea. It will cater to all the landlocked countries within East and Central Africa.
How are we incapable yet we've managed to take care of people living in drought-infested areas? Where, animals and crops die because of a lack of water and food? - we're seated in 70% of arid area - with little to no mineral, but we've managed to control the situation.
Nairobi has now been ranked the best city to live and work in, in Africa. With no minerals, we can at least attest to the fact that Kenya is using the brain to achieve all these.
GTC is of its kind. No complex infrastructure in Africa can come close( save the iconic city in Egypt upon completion). Only developed cities have such iconic infrastructure. A small country with big moves.
The tallest apartment in Africa is now at 19fls, 1fl per week. Most luxurious apartment in Africa, where you can enjoy the tranquility and serene environment both in the NNP(game park, and the entire Nairobi view) - no minerals.
Kenya's economy has increased by 3folds in less than a decade. The projected growth rate as of 2021 is 6.0%, One of the highest in Africa.
A small country, yes. But not incapable. Just get your facts right, reduce emotions & ignorance, argue like a mature intelligent man, and you'll always enjoy the vibe. No one is here to demean your country, no one is here to talk sh"t out your country.
The 6% growth would be a recovery from 2020 when there was Corona. It's nothing much to masturbate about.
obaaderemi: This boy is foolish. For decades little India was synonymous with droughts and starvation. Up to 2019 there were still images of starving hordes coming out of Kenya. The last time we had such was in the 80s in Ethiopia.
While Nigeria has its shortcomings, at least it was known as a oil and gas major with a stake in the world economy with its position in OPEC. You on the other hand send to Europe products of little value like tea and flowers.
Nigeria was instrumental in bringing peace to warzones like Liberia and Sierra Leone, even reinstating toppled presidents, one in west Africa and another in central Africa. Apart from South Africa, some of Africa's largest companies are here. Nigeria has Africa's largest economy while yours has refused to hit the $100bn mark. Kenya is little known, except as a hunting ground for white people and for the biracial man, Obama.
True. Today there is a road named after Sani Abacha in Sierra Leone and ask any Sierra Leonian online, they would tell you they can never forget what the Former Nigerian dictator did against all odds even with pressure from the outside world on Nigeria not to interfere. I think we missed the opportunity in Mali (in 2012) when the world looked unto us once again but we had an unstable Boko Haram situation then and so France ceased the opportunity. Since then the French have set up their bases all around us in West Africa.
I still blame Obasanjo partly for all these though. He sacked about 400 0f Nigeria's finest Generals in order to prevent a coup and to preserve democracy and we have paid the price dearly especially while having French countries like Niger and Chad as neighbours near our porous borders.
mtisQ: Yeap Kalistus , Boma an madam philo already watched that..very funny... For real those guys are original...
What I get from their stories is how the poor or struggling wants to make it fast or be big against all odds. These poor are ready to devise new means to become big (sometimes to just survive) by hook or crook and so it never ends well.
Mkenya2019: I think it's a mistake for any kenya company to expand in TZ - their jealousy is so consuming - you'd be courting a disaster. Most kenya companies are keeping TZ subsidiary just to look good otherwise real action is Uganda,Rwanda, DRC, South Sudan (primitives) and soon Ethiopia.
Why would Tanzania be jealous of you? Their economy is doing well, they have good infrastructure and better Tourism and they even feed your people. I think it's the Kenyans that should learn from Tanzania.
