Adufesco: Thanks 4 ur reply my brother, i have been looking 4 work since last yr i came to lagos, but jst got one last month with low payments, my popsy promise to help me concerning dis processing but he later said dat he does'nt understand dis and he said he can't waste money and i have try my best to explain to him still nothing came out 4rm him! I am now stranded i dont know what to do again, dat is why i post that seeking 4 help... Pls help if u have and God will reward u back Thanks.Print your first and second notifications and approach your pastor with your need for funds. I doubt very strongly if any genuine ministry will see all those and ignore you. Look out for well meaning members of your church too. You will realise the funds you seek in to time. What kind if parent would see their child with this unique opportunity for a better life and turn away? Go back to your dad and really explain issues to him and the opportunities that awaits you. He will key into your project. |
brightmon: na you get time na, i know them from far. It's difficult to know who genuinely needs help and players. God will help us all. |

Hmmmmmm! Just thinking aloud!!! |
Idi Amin: pls am new here. can someone heip me. my interview is fast approaching and i happened to have lost my waec certificate. can i go for the interview with my statement of result and a waec printout. my waec exam was 12yrs ago. will they insist i bring my waec certificate though i applied 4 the visa with my degree. plsssssss helpIf you have a duplicate copy of your WAEC certificate, go to the High Court and Certify it as true copy. If not available, swear an affidavit declaring it missing and the circumstances surrounding it's disappearance. In the meantime, you will need to go with a scratch card and printout of your result to the embassy. |
tinubaby: Hi guys. just want to know if theres any specification on the passport to be taken to the embassy or you can just take a normal kind of passport picture.600*600 pixels. The same size you used for your EDV registration. |
bobshina: Thank God. I finally landed in America with my family yesterday & d xperience was so wonderful. We don't hav much problem at port of enty- JFK airport NY, we join d queue for immigrant and we are 2nd on d queue. I gave d Immig Officer our PP & d Yellow envelopes. She checked to see if we've tried to open d envelopes. Thereafter, she opened the envelopes one after the other. took our finger prints and snap us. she then inputs some info into the system and finally stamped our PP.She then took us into the main room where she led us to a man. she gave our forms(contents of d yellow envelopes) to d man and d man gave us a form to put our fingerprint on it and signed it. Everytin took us less than 15 minutes in d airport.Welcome to America. Thanks for the detailed exposition of POE experience. |
jbmohd: Good afternoon house.is it true that cost of living in NY is high? Not just high but extremely high. It's the commercial capital city of US. |
Adufesco: Thanks my brother, i have been trying to contact some churches in maryland if they can accomodate me.That's a hectic task. Why not rather contact your pastor here in Nigeria to help you speak with members with relatives in the US. That to me is wisdom. I doubt if your chosen method will fetch you any result due to Nigerians for what they're known for. So unfortunate some bad ones gave us bad image Internationally. |
Adufesco: Hello house, i have being following dis tred from the begining infact, i gain alot of things. Congrat to those who have done their interview successful! And for those who are still expecting thier interview days to come also wish them the best! Am one of dv2013 winners and my interview is 2nd wk in December Pls my Questions is dat if i did not have any one to stay with when i get to USA. What are my going to do? I mean what is next step 4 me? Because i put N/A there as i was directed from kcc office but still, i can't get any address. Pls any help? i need your respond? You will delay the processing of your visa by so doing.YOU MUST PROVIDE A VALID US ADDRESS. If you got no one in the US, source around. Your friends could have. Without a VALID US address your green card can't be mailed to you. |
addsam: i salute every contributor to this forum God bless every one.those that have receive their visa and those that are waiting for their 2NL and Interview.God will do it in IJN (amen).i have a question i want to ask the house.a friend was among the Dv2013 winner but WAEC made a mistake in his Date of Birth on his Certificate.please what will the house advice him to do on this.should he go to the embassy with the certificate or just the internet print out with an unscratched Scratch card for online confirmation.less i forget he had good 5 o level subject on the certificate.I once learnt on this forum that WAEC does rectify such errors if approached. This is not authoritative as I have no such experience with WAEC. However, an affidavit could fix the error alternatively. Give it a shot. |
tinubaby: Hi everyone. A friend just introduced me to this forum. Seems like a truckload of information. couldnt believe all the pages. God bless yall. You rock. My interview isnt too far away and id just like to know if its necessary to take a copy of the dsp forms i filled since they would have the copy i sent to KCC. Also do i need to take my employment letter for my current job as well?I don't think you'll need a copy of that duplicate at the interview since they got the original. That notwithstanding, I do advice all to go with all they got and allow them pick for themselves what is necessary. Just playing safe. |
hituneu: Anoda issuse is my Intl passport, its not yet expired but in it I bear my maiden name, hope that wont call for trouble with the Co or do I have to do anoda one?Whatever happened to appreciation. It's not an issue as your passport is very much valid irrespective of your maiden name. |
loconzo00: Honestly there's nothing to take personal here.If that hurt your ego or the sensitivities of others, forgive and forget. Those words were carefully selected to discourage further insistence. Michymich will be just fine with or without my inputs. |
hituneu: Am so thrilled with the advise prayers and rhe rest you guys gave me,now am,a student in my three hundred level, education wise what should I take along for them to know that truly am in a university or is it only my waec I need, ans do I have to Trans late it ,cos credentials are in French.See the possibility of getting your statement of result, transcripts, 'to whom it may concern' letter from your faculty/department addressed to the embassy, original school fee receipts and student ID. |
loconzo00: You may be right to some extent. Now you are taking it personal. I do not hold briefs for Michymich. I have only spoken in my professional capacity as an attorney. I am not in Nairaland to make money but to help as many as I can and to be assisted as well. The details you seek him to disclose here will be inimical to his interests. He won't be pleasing the house to his detriment. By the way he specifically asked for my contact, he was neither compelled nor coerced. Bury this matter. When the time and circumstances are right, I believe you will be detailed of what transpired from the embassy uptill the arbitraration/judicial panel which will appellate over the matter. |
loconzo00: @Getinger,thanks for your offer to help Michymich.Truly you won't understand because you're not in the field. You don't speak or comment on matters going before a court. He will surely educate this forum at the appropriate time but the timing is critical to avoid being prejudicial. Please trust me on this. The Embassy is also reading. We may all be faceless on this forum, so you think, but our identities and exact locations are known to internet experts of whom Americans are specialists. Pls wait. |
pjogutum1: House it’s a pity that Michymich was denied Visa, but I am surprised that he has not been able to tell us in this thread what exactly went wrong. Is he a Nigerian and is he truly married to the woman he calls his wife or is it for the purpose of the Visa lottery? From his statement, he said he was denied visa because he did not understand the relationship. Secondly, did he forge any document? If he did, then no basis for instituting any case, but if he did not then let him go ahead for the visa is he’s. I believe in the truth, let Michymich tell the house the truth of what really happened at the embassy so that the house will also know how to help him.Michymich under the circumstance is not authorized to make any such disclosure. Please no more pressures on him. it's enough he told you he was temporarily denied and thats all he owes the house out of courtesy for now. If anyone is seeking for backup experience from others setback to better their own lots, it shows insensitivity and deep seated self-centeredness. |
Leripa: To all LAW and IMMIGRATIONS LAW gurus in the house. Please, let's keep hope alive for @michymich.They got no problems if they act fast. They would be back here to testify. |
adzovia: no i am from Ghana and my visa is 3 months. i guess it it based on when your medicals will expireYou don't mean it? Wow, Nigeria is much better is certain aspects then. I hope the guy seeking the information has taken note. I answered based on general knowledge here. |
|
ladiesman2013: bros im new here n im a dv lottery 2013 winner i have an interview in early jan but i want to knw when is dead line for to move from my country (Ghana) because i ve an exam in juneYour visa will be valid for six months from the date of issue. In your case, the sixth month from January is June. It's either you forfeit the exam and proceed on your journey or you travel to activate your green card and return to write your exam. |
michymich: Gentiger please can you provide your email please?I am not an immigration lawyer. I am into property Law. I have learned friends who will be interested in picking your brief. Some of them are specialist in immigration matters with good success rate. Here is my email: info.seagategroup@gmail.com. A fiduciary relationship thus exists between us. Nothing disclosed will be shared in this forum or with a third party except in pursuance of an amicable resolution of the matter. I await your mail. |
packaging: bro! U ar right abt ya sayin... Am a living witness, I had to tender ma passport/visa at oceanic bank bfor exchange cud be made nd moreso der xchange rate was dem higher bt neva gat a 2options den.At times you just play calm. It's for the forumites to do independent research of their own. No Nigerian Bank will give you Dollar across the counter in the manner specified by Yusmash. Thanks Temmy. |
Yusmash00: No, I won't accept this. Most African banks have bureau de change like first bank. Even if you go to any bank that have Western Union, They will exchange naira to dollar for you. Its just going to be on the higher price than from the Aboki's.When you or anyone else in this forum succeeds in changing our local currency across the counter in any bank within Nigeria other than the way earlier specified, pls let the house know. It's much easier to accept as authentic anything given by the Bank. |
hituneu: can I change naria to dollar @ the bank.Nigerian Banks ordinarily won't give such exchange except you can show a valid visa to a western Country and in need of BTA, or if you got a dormiciliary account and need to make a withdrawal. In any case, your best bet is to use bureau de change from a licensed dealer. You get them at the Airport. Their pips spread margin are usually on the high side though but definitely not as high as the embassy. |
hituneu: pls what does the AOS mean(the full meaning)here @ cotonu you trust them with money when changing it cos he do disappear(they make us of juju for the money)so where can I change it in that will be a trusted place. It means AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT. That's a document your petitioner or host usually sends as a demonstration of his willingness to take financial responsibility of you within a reasonable period of time while newly admitted to the States. |
hituneu: what is the AOS and how much is s330 in nigeria cos the interview will take place @ lagos, have been married for a year now but no kids.Oh great. The embassy wont use the prevailing exchange rate. Expect 5 pips spread. It's advisable if you can have your currency in dollars as long as you can source it from an authentic place. As for AOS, those who have been interviewed said it was not mentioned. Ideally, you may not need it. I wrote the embassy on it and they asked me to come with all I got during my interview. I'll tuck mine aside just incase. If you've been married for a year, congrats. Get your pictures as adviced handy. Go thru this thread to familiarize yourself with the experiences of married couples who made it thru at the embassy. All the best. |
sami_1983: where can I get my police certificate is it from Interpol or........It's from CIA and FBI. Lol. Go to Alagbon, finger printing Unit of Force Headquarters. You won't find Interpols there, but men in black and mufti. |
hituneu: Guys you have to help me on my own pls,I have been on this thread either asking questions or praying for those that are about to go for their interview, now I think its almost my turn, just this morning I received an email from kcc telling me by december interviews for my region would start,my case no is 70 plus, and I live and school @ cotonu where my husband lives, now the problem is what n what are we supposed to take for the interview plus what type of questions will they ask us?I didn't want to ask this cos I thougt if I ask no answer will come forth but with the way you guys are helping and praying for people on this thread its quite amazaming.I really want to travel out before the end of next cos I have a lot of reasons that I will share with you guys,my mom died when I was little and my dad didn't remarry,he was the only one who took pain to care for 3girls no family came to help us,just january this year he died,No family has ever called to ask how we are faring and the rest,NOw this would be an oppurnity to me if I can travel out so I and my sisters plus my husband would have a better life.So pls God people of Nigeria I need your help, advise and prayers on this,I won't this lottery to work for our favour.Am counting on you guys to help me with advise on how to do this so it won't go the wrong way.God bless youIt's okay to know your background since you voluntarily disclosed. In all my years as a believer in Christ, I have seen him raise the poor from the dunghill and place him among Princes. That's about to happen in your life. You shall yet be celebrated. Through you, your family shall be sustained. Now listen, If you are not married to the man in your life as of the moment, i'll advice you shelve the idea of marriage for now and make him join you afterwards. Most marriages after DV lottery selection is viewed as scam and difficult to prove. If you are genuinely married, then begin your preparation now. You need lots of pictures taken together. I mean lots of it. Get an album and stack it full of pictures taken together during courtship, marriage and after marriage. If you got kids, perfect. Ensure all your civil documents are in place. Also ensure consistency in all aspects. If you are a believer in Christ, let prayers do the remaining ones not forgetting to read thru your final year projects, final year semester courses or WAEC subjects taken at High school. I await your testimony because you'll surely testify. Go with these to the embassy: 1. Your International Passports. 2. 3 passport photos each. 3. Birth certificates. 4. Marriage certificate. 5. Lots of pictures taken before and after marriage. 6. $330 times the number of beneficiaries. 7. Medical results. 8. Police character certificate. 9. Academic credentials 10. Find out if AOS is needed in cotonou if you'll be interviewed there. 11. Appointment letter. 12. 1NL Let the house add anything else I omitted. Goodluck dear. |
Godhelpmeooo: gud day house, pls with 5 credit in neco and d7 in english am good to go.@temytamy,guner4u,gentiger,brighton,adesojijare and all the gurus in house pls respond pls,GLORYYou are super good to go. You got no problem. |
temmytanny: Am not sure about this but i would want the house to react to it,personally i would advice you get a waec scratch card with it if eventually you dint succeed in getting the certificate the embassy could check online.Getting a scratch card is perfectly in line. Let him also do a confirmation of result. This is usually done by those who misplaced or lost their certificate. In this case, WAEC will send it directly to the embassy. They will give him a reference to the sent document if he asks. |
michymich: im so sorry guys to be the first to give a refusal news me and my wife today were refused because we were not able to defend our relationship eventhough all other documents were tight.... any options for us? we were given one year to take an actionSo sorry for this disturbance. Let me speak to you like a lawyer. The CO merely told you of your chances before an arbitration panel. It means If you got sufficient documentary evidence to prove your case beyond a reasonable doubt then you can resort to it. If you are certain there is nothing fraudulent in your marriage relationship, you may spend some bucks to institute a legal proceeding to address the temporary denial. Be sure you have your facts straight because you could earn yourself a ban for life if indeed your marriage is fraudulent. I am open to further questions offline if you choose, as legal matters are not treated on a public forum as this. |
