teemola: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that by May 2013, all Nigerians traveling abroad would be compelled to take the oral polio vaccine. This was noted by Dr. Ray Nihar, an official of the WHO yesterday in Kaduna.STALE NEWS!!! Besides it's for children. |
teemola: your interpretation is quite interesting, but how are you so sure you will be able to defend everyone and win.The VOICE of Jacob, the HAND of Esau. Hahaha!! |

peters ife: Gentiner pls does it mean dat those that collected their visa in dec, and plan travelling to america in february 2013 won,t pay the processing fees at the point of entry.I can tell you AUTHORITATIVELY that you are EXEMPTED from any additional processing fee since your visa was issued earlier this month. You got nothing to worry about my brother. By the way, I'll send across the promised document the moment I receive your blank mail as directed. |
Spoondar: To my understanding if you enter the US in Feb this means you will start processing for both your SSN and GC which will take 2 weeks, then you will have to pay the fee.I strongly believe they will look at the date your visa was issued in your passport to determine whether the fee is applicable to you. |
peters ife: Gentiner pls does it mean dat those that collected their visa in dec, and plan travelling to america in february 2013 won,t pay the processing fees at the point of entry. It's my training as an attorney to interpret drafts and status. We examine keywords inorder to arrive at the intentions of the drafts man. The major keyword there says 'Effective 1st February.' Since there is an express mention of a kickoff date, any individual who obtains an immigrant visa BEFORE the specified date is EXEMPTED!!! |
Gsluv: Hello house, pls I'd like to ask this question. On my waec cert "H" was omitted from my name,"Ridwan instead of "Ridhwan", but correctly spelt on other docs, pls do I need to swear an affidavit or it won't cause an issue? My dear brother, while the omission of a letter from your name might be inconsequential and negligible, it won't put a hole in your pocket to correct the error through a court process. Get an affidavit and keep aside just incase it becomes an issue which I doubt. It won't cost more than N500. |
Effective February 1, 2013 About the Fee Foreign nationals who seek permanent residence in the United States and receive an IMMIGRANT VISA will need to pay a USCIS Immigrant Fee beginning February 1, 2013. The new fee of $165 was established in USCIS’s final rule adjusting fees for IMMIGRATION APPLICATIONS and petitions announced on Sept. 24, 2010. USCIS has worked closely with the Department of State (DOS) to implement the new fee which allows USCIS to recover the cost of processing that is performed in the United States after immigrant visa holders receive their visa packages from DOS and are admitted to the United States. Note: Applicants will now have two separate fees to pay. They are still required to pay the DOS visa application processing fee, and will now also have to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee. What the Fee Covers The immigrant fee will cover the cost of USCIS staff time to handle, file and maintain the immigrant visa package, and the cost of producing and delivering the permanent resident card. Who Needs to Pay the Fees ANY INDIVIDUAL who on or after February 1, 2013 receives an IMMIGRANT VISA package from a United States consulate or embassy abroad (including Canada and Mexico) WILL PAY the USCIS Immigrant Fee. NOTE: Pay close attention to the words in upper case |
nero xp: gudmornin 2 u all my family nd frendz, hpe we all had a wondaful gudnite.am much relievd dat de additional fee doesn't apply 2 dv lottery.we all shal testisfy de gudness of GOD in dis forum in JESUS NAME,AMEN.merry weekend allJust before you conclude it doesn't apply to DV lottery winners, please read today's Guardian Newspaper, page 6, bottom page. If you will be issued a green card upon arrival to the States, then you must pay an additional GREEN CARD processing fee of $165, effective 1st February, 2013, to USCIS at the point of your IMMIGRANT VISA application of which DV lottery belongs. This fee has nothing to do with date of entry to the States, but the date the visa was issued. So those whose interview fall before the specified date are exempted. |
For those having mispelt names, incomplete names or inconsistent dates of birth in their documents, I refer you to todays Guardian Newspaper, page 56, column 5. Please go through some entries in that column and advice yourself accordingly. Goodluck in your visa application. |

ojisalara: Morning Guys, Thanks for all your wonderful advice...I'm having this issue and I don't know if it will be a problem though while filling My form I indicated it There:You got no problem. Go to the high court and do HARMONISATION OF NAME also known as CONFIRMATION OF NAME. Publish in a national newspaper atleast 30 days before your interview date. Many have been denied for inconsistencies in names and date of birth. Go the extra mile. It won't cost more than N6k to do all these. Goodluck! |

tinubaby: Hi guys , i need your advice ASAP. my interview is coming up and i dnt wanna be denied. reading about prince charming really got me scared. its so sad. i filed inmy educational qualification and also my job experience but looking at it now, im not sure my job would qualify me for the visa. would i be asked if i want to go through with my work experience or educational experience cos i think it would be fair if the co considers my education instead of work since that doesnt qualify? i wish prince charming would tell the house if he had the minimum ssce requirements so we could tell if he was educationally qualified and rejected or if he also didnt have his ssce. i also wish he would tell us his occupation as well. i was gonna take my employment letter wit me but i thnk il just present my school certificate and hide the employment letter in another envelope in case the co asks.wat do u guys thnk? pray for me o. i also want to share my success story o. no be only congratulations i want tell people. make people sef tell me congrats wen my time reach oooooI very strongly doubt if the wife had up to 5 credit load of the 9 subjects entered for which was why they relied on work experience. You rarely get denied if you meet the education requirement, except of course there are other unspecified mitigating issues. |

Princecharmingobi: Hi everyone, me and my wife was denied our dv lottery visa on tuesday, the issue was that they claimed in the denial letter and below is their statement,It appears appeal is restricted to certain nationalities alone of which Nigeria may be exempted. This is not for certain. |

kinzzo112: Yestarday was our interview, God favoured my wife and I. Our appointment time was 7am, by 5.30am, we were already at the Gate, waiting. Before 6.30am it fill up to its capacity. Exactly 6.30am we were called to line up(immigrant and non-immigrant). we went through all the normal security checks. We Got there pick our tag number(B......) we sat for few minutes, our names were called for documents submission. we went to window 17, a black lady there told us to go ahead and make payment before she could collect those documents. we made the payment(660 dols). And we went back to her again. that was were God started His work! after the documents were submitted(including our marriage certificate) she told us to bring our passport photographs, after looking at my wife's own, said she is not comfortable with what she used in hair, that if we had any other passport with us, which we said no, that passport was rejected, look at how the woman was looking everywhere for us search for another replacement, at last she has to remove the ones KCC sent to the embassy and used it for us. we were asked to sit that our number will called again. Mind you before we left home, we had prayed for us to be interviewed by the black lady at window 13 cos we have read about the way she favoured people. our eyes was in her window, we saw her approving two visas to different people, So here God did another Wonder! when she was done, she called another number B...., she waited for several minutes for this person to come up for interview, the particular person never showed up, she had to drop the forms and details, she went to pick another form, behold, it was our number she called, we smiled to each we stood-up to meet her. The interview was just within 10 minutes, no long thing!A super congratulations. |
seven!!:Congratulations. Many more outstanding testimonies to follow. |

Thanks my brother. |
Bussyme: @gentiger,where were you since?. You refused to nominate and voting is ongoing now ,we NLs need your contribution /voting....Why is Gentiger always singled out for wahala? I nominated Temmy and Kemzone. I have been busy lately. If you observe, my input has declined for some days. Christmas is by the corner you know and I got a life outside Nairaland. I'll vote and definitely for Temmy. Do me the favor or flashing the voting page again. Thanks Bussyme |
akshow77: Thanks to contributing and non-contributing members of this great thread.my day starts and end with this thread and have come to realize the only thing needed for success in life is when everybody lend a helping hand like is been done here.I set out around 5am this morning for the embassy but was 10minutes into the the journey before discovering my x-ray was missing, had to return to pick to it up.finally got to the embassy by 6am.After been ushered into the the embassy around 7am,payment made and and documents collected, the immigrant visa interview started around 8.30am.The white co at window14 was the 1st to start the interview.sooner enough she was joined by the black co at window 13.strange enough the first denial of the day was by the black American lady.Thereafter every other person came out smiling.I discovered that the white co at window 16 is very detailed and she had just a lady throughout the duration of my stay. The window 15guy is also detailed but not as rigourous as that of 16.I was finally called to window13 around 9.28am.Congratulations once again. |
akshow77: Thanks to the almighty God,had my interview at counter 13 with the black american lady around 9.30am and it was successful.more gist when I get to Ibadan.Congratulations my brother. |
