Jodera: Exactly. Like when I was reading his post to Spy talking about his injury and all, I didn't mind. I understand
But when I read that "he can't fit into the team, he doesn't have best position" and whatnot, omorr e shock me.
Then the "Viera has more Skillset to this team than him".
Chaiiii I no go kuku talk on the matter again. He's mentioning doku and grealish and saying ESR can't fit in as a competition, it's funny shaa. ESR with game time and confidence pass that Doku 10X na me talk dat one. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 2:25pm On May 24, 2024 |
Jodera: If you check the reason why I initially quoted you (my first quote to you today), it's because you claim he's limited in midfield and not pacy in wings.
I never had issues on your post with injuries or selling him. What I'm against is you denying his talent saying he can't build up or press or sort or doesn't suit our system.
C'mon!!!
If arsenal wants to sell because they suspect he's our next doctor as Blueray says, fine and good especially now that he's still high in value.
But if it's about Skillset or that he has regressed, that's what I'm against. And certainly not against Viera who has shown his skillset is mainly for counter attacking team.
But we watch. In as much as we like him, his injury is a concern and I admit it too. Keeping or selling him depends on the club and I won't agitate if he leaves cus it's understandable, but comparing him with Viera and even making up thesis to support his claims led to all these back and forth. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 1:47pm On May 24, 2024 |
What you do not understand is that the boy is coming back from a very difficult injury, after 2 years of managing a groin issue he finally got surgery and while still trying to come out from that he got a knee injury. I remember reading somewhere that even his doctor abi physiotherapist told the team not to rush him too. The medical team and the coach are taking their time and he's improving gradually, but you choose not to see it that way. You see him as a finished goods that have regressed so bad and needs change. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 1:42pm On May 24, 2024 |
Jodera: I said it... Only Fulham.
Lol.
But what made ESR regressed? Did he even have his match fitness yet or you don't know he's still not sharp.
ESR against Luton should show you he still got it but you're still looking at him from 3 seasons ago.
And nobody is stuck in the past here. Everybody knows ESR needs match rhythm to get his form back. [s]The Viera you're even placing side by side with him never even do anything consistent for this team sef[/s] No loud that Viera talk abeg, person get headache for front seat.. |

mostob: Bring the stat. I'm open for debate. Go and bring their stats here and let's see. I don't do stats bro, I watch football and analyze all expect of the game, from the formation and system the team played down to the way each player execute theirs not just stats and figures. ESR has the player to disturb the defense and have a good vision too, he just needs regular play time to show up again. This season between the times he played and the times Viera played, Baba, he had more impact than Viera. I dey watch ball no be stats Snr |

Smith had more impact in the minutes he played than Viera did, so I don't get where this your argument is coming from. |

mostob: What Vieira lacks in physicality, he makes it up with technicality. I think you're using that season to judge ESR. That is why you are not getting the point.
ESR ain't fast bro... we saw that against Villa. ESR have that technical ability too, both weren't rushed this season so their injury can be managed and contained. And bruh ESR has pace, I followed that boy from his Hale end days, he has pacemore than Saka sef. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 12:51pm On May 24, 2024 |
daveP: That one dey too sha but he's in his prime sha He's 29 and Arsenal focus on youth and age, so I don't think anyone from the team will still consider his signing when he hits 30 |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 12:48pm On May 24, 2024 |
mostob: You're still judging ESR based on his exploits three seasons ago, that's what you're still holding on to. When both were available, Vieira usually gets the nod ahead of ESR, that should tell you something.
ESR has regressed badly which is what you are not considering here. His incessant injuries didn't help matter too. The few times he was subbed on this season, he disappointed. Three years ago when he was still hot, this argument wouldn't happen. But since last season that both have been together in that team, with what they have both shown, Vieira will always get the nod. I gently disagree with you on that bro, |

And what part of Odegaard's game did you feel Ozil should have used during his spell with usm I love Ozil, but odegaard is gradually getting there abi he's there already. Ozil can't run and press like Odegaard but he's developing that crazy vision of Ozil. |

Jodera: Lol.... Omorr, we are talking about ESR here and you're saying this thing?
Someone that's good at buildups, one touch and move play. Someone that's good at pressing (at least our match against Luton where he was even half fit yet won Motm should give you a pointer). He's good at beating the press is whom you're saying all these bolded?
Anyways, I still dey wait for this setup to suit Viera sha. God keep us Alive to see it I'm beginning to wonder if he watch ESR from his early days down to even last Sunday match. How can he say ESR doesn't drop and help in build up. Well every man get his opinion shaa |

mostob: And how is that harsh? In another system, ESR will get the nod. It is simple. The current system doesn't suit him. I was clear enough. Na you wan turn this to Vieira vs ESR. ESR is a final third specialist who will get you goals. He is not someone that would drop deep and help with buildup. His positioning and late runs into the box is quote alright but in situations where we need numbers in midfield to beat the press, he is limited. Where do you think he should play then? ESR drops when he needs to bro. You are making the comparison but trying to convince yourself that you're not. ESR has pace, and he he's someone that's always ready to help this team however way he can. I think he's more suited to play that odegaard role more than Viera but what do I know... He has the physicality and sharpness that Viera lacks. |

BlueRayDick: You are sure bawo ?😳 Even the coach and his medical team won’t be sure ESR won’t get injured again.
A player that has consistently gotten injured with various injuries ranging from Shoulder injury, groin injury , hamstring injury ,knee injury , ankle injury , etc over the last 5 years …. That’s the player u are vouching for that his injury concern will not be a problem next year ?
Baba , na so Diaby spend 10 years for Arsenal and didn’t play up to 200 games o. His main injury concern was the groin problem which have been taken care of, na to manage him properly. Hmm BRD(shey u no get problem with the initials for ya Monika?) It's really hard defending his injury issues but I just love the boy and wish him to stay. His injury shouldn't be much of a problem again |

Jodera: Hopefully ooo. Fingers crossed cos I too like the boy.
But I believe if good money comes, they'll sell him this one that he's listed on our transfer list Transfer speculations are normal, I can remember Belerin being associated with Barca and moving from arsenal right from his first season down to the season he finally left, same with Bernardo silver at man city. But if the should sell him, then we will need a better upgrade. |
