Ten years ago, Ayodele Dada emerged the first graduate with a perfect CGPA in Psychology. Ten years on, Benedict Chukwuzubelu has repeated the feat in Business Administration. So far, UNILAG has six graduates with a perfect CGPA across social sciences, humanities, engineering and life sciences. Truly, this is the best university in the country. Well done!! |
The solution to this as a man is to have a few children. Maximum of two. Sometimes, I think most people in the country should just have one child. I know it's hard to separate having children from wanting to marry, that's why I recommend one child. Also, to prove that say you're fertile. |
donleo92:If you want to earn a really high salary, you need to be either in sales or work in a quantitative related profession. However, you cannot become a billionaire, whether naira or usd, if you don't own equity in a business/enterprise. |
When I wrote that if Donald Trump truly wants to takeover Greenland and nothing will happen, I wasn't wrong. You see, these Western EU boys don't mind the rest of the world being bombed or destroyed by the US. They will gladly lend their support. So, why are you - a non-European - bothered about them? Didn't France lead the way towards the carnage in Libya while receiving backing from Obama? What's good got Venezuela is also good for Greenland. Donald Trump should do whatever he wants regarding Greenland and there's nothing ANYONE can do about it! I don't have to like Trump's policies or actions, but I admire that he shows his true self. Telling you to your face: this is who I'm. |
buJu234:Thank you very much for these questions. The number two question is apt as it means Magun doesn't work outside the country or region where both couples married. The same should apply to ethnic groups in Delta and Kogi where they pride themselves in doing CCTV for what goes inside a woman's vagina. |
Dalohad:They have gone begging to China within the past two years. All big EU nations' presidents/leaders have gone to China, and thankfully, the Chinese have not changed so much. The Do Nothing and Win mantra continues. |
WriteerNg:Except these people are not putting up a public posturing considering their shared histories and belligerence towards China and Russia, the EU cannot do anything if the Trump-led administration decides to take over Greenland. If Trump is damn serious about taking Greenland, he would do it, and nothing would happen. What is good for Venezuela is also good for Greenland. |
bryght4u:Then you have the US requesting its allies vassals to increase their rare earth/critical minerals output so they can reduce China's control. https://archive.md/2026.01.16-112945/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-15/us-asks-allies-to-step-up-measures-on-chinese-critical-minerals At the same time, the US is threatening major EU nations with sanctions unless they let go of Greenland. Sometimes, I can understand the "Do Nothing and Win" posture from Xi. At other times, I believe this is all a public standoff orchestrated by the US-led West to deceive unsuspecting countries, and I wonder what the Chinese will do when their dominance over rare earth/critical minerals is reduced. In all, I don't pity EU countries as their sifia pains are well deserved. They cut off Chinese demand for ASML, Chinese EVs and cheap Russian gas all for the hordes of embarrassment from the US. Now, they are stuck. China should demand the highest access to their markets when they come begging, because they would. Beggars are not choosers. ![]() |
emmaodet:Lol I am not "happy" when I say women now make their money and, as a result, don't need men. I acknowledge it. That is it, and to an extent, I am happy for them because it offers freedom. I am someone who yearns for freedom, so I am happy to support freedom for others, provided they face the positive benefits or consequences alone. That is where women have a problem - they don't want to experience the consequences for their actions alone, but want to hold onto the positive benefits. For men, and even for most women as well, who desire to have children, having them in a two-parent household is the best. That is why I support men who insist on marrying virgins or younger women (if they have the resources). Also, for men, I will always emphasise having fewer children (max of 2) even if the woman desires more children. Except that the man is a core traditional person who is financially well-to-do. Additionally, I have written against the rise in single-mother families, as data says they don't have better outcomes/results compared to two parent-households. |
Now, watch all run to the Chinese for economic cover. ![]() Do Nothing and Win seems to be working for Xi. OriOko88:Are you sure you are following news? Big EU nations (specifically France and Germany) are cautious in vexing the Chinese because of the economic benefits. The Germans in particular don't want to annoy the Chinese and many big and midsized German companies have open huge factories and facilities in China in the past three years. The EU will become poorer if they further annoy the Chinese as they are starved of cheap energy from Russia. Moreover, Germany cannot singlehandedly fight Russia. You people over-rate European countries way too much. |
Melancho:Kids are best raised in a two-parent household. Data from all over the world support it. |
The Lagos state govt should really invest massively in public housing and its maintenance. If it means hiring Singaporeans on contract, so be it. Its growing middle class population needs such an infrastructure. |
I remember LordAdam in Pansop.hist thread about multilateralism explained how the Chinese are so flush with excess cash looking for where to invest. Real estate markets have been locked against foreigners. especially the Chinese in the most preferred countries such as Canada and Australia. Factories and companies could be seized from you simply because you are Chinese. This is after you don invest o. We have seen this in the Netherlands and now Italy. Even in the UK, the same has happened. So, as it is, it would be hard for a Chinese investor to invest and gain significant control in Western companies. It is even going to be way harder for an ethnic Chinese to head sensitive departments in most Western companies. There are academic studies to support this, especially in the US, and we watched how a Singaporean was asked embarrassing questions simply because he is an ethnic Chinese, even when he is not a Chinese national. So, hopefully, they will move more into the African continent as they have done across Southeast Asia and partly South America. Open factories, build plants, construct warehouses yanfu-yanfu. What we need across our continent are investments and jobs powered by loooong and patient capital. https://archive.md/2026.01.16-013349/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-16/china-s-1-2-trillion-windfall-quietly-seeps-into-global-markets |
bryght4u:Thank you o! I don't trust Western politicians in their approach towards China, including the likes of Spain and even Hungary. Na because of poor economy and Trump's unfriendly attitude, which makes some try to mend ties with China. A Western country - Italy - has been reported to be preventing a Chinese company from obtaining contract approval, not because it is not qualified, but because of pressure from the US. They are even making moves to cut off the Chinese investors in some of their (Italian) companies. https://archive.md/2026.01.15-120510/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-15/italy-faced-us-pressure-to-cancel-contracts-with-china-s-nuctech During David Cameron's tenure, his Chancellor of the Exchequer Osborne called for a bromance with the Chinese, but as China's economy grew and the level of sophisticated goods increased, they changed tune. The likes of New Zealand and Australia are just smiling because of economic benefits; they will antagonise China so badly. Australia was puffing up during COVID until the Chinese barred its agricultural products, then the new guy relaxed. The same Canada orchestrated the arrest of the daughter of the CEO of Huawei (a Chinese corporate icon), a company the US literally wanted to kill off, but thankfully it survived and has gotten stronger and bigger. I want to believe the Chinese aren't fazed by this bromance. Na condition make them bend, not because they suddenly like the Chinese. Honestly, there is nothing as sweet as being financially independent and strong. Kudos to the Chinese for their feat! |
Gerrard59:Thankfully, the Kenyan government has signed the trade deal with China, removing 90%+ tariffs on exported goods. Tinubu should strike a similar deal, thus making official the Chinese offer to remove tariffs on goods exported from African countries to it. Ruto has defended the rapprochement with China against criticism from some U.S. officials, saying Kenya has to export more goods to the Asian economy to close a trade gap heavily tilted in Beijing's favour.Tinubu has done similar with the UAE, time for Big Daddy China. We import way more from China than we export. Time to make some changes. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/business/article/2001538634/kenya-secures-landmark-zero-duty-trade-deal-with-china Congratulations to Kenya! |
BTW, this thread reminds me of that time when some folks were arguing that Morocco is an "African" country. Ndi Attachee FC! 😂😂😂🤣🤣 Dem no go build their own, na to dey do attachee |
Well well well, it's that question every observant Black African aside from South Africans ask s/he visits a country with a different racial group. How come our place is not like this? It's largely on Black men to develop their societies as other men have done theirs. Interestingly, the Black dominated places (Barbados, Bahamas and South Africa) with a high HDI and superior infrastructures have the White man's influences. Does this mean the Black man needs the presence of the White man to attain a high level of infrastructural development? Mind you, in some states in Nigeria including their upscale neighbourhoods and roads leading to the Governors' residences, there are open gutters o |
Owan should be in Edo state, right? Rather than the govt discouraging japa, they should promote legal means of japa and advise our people how to behave when outside the country. India ALWAYS does its best to include human migration/skilled visas in every trade deal it negotiates with other countries. How many jobs you wan create for the teeming population? So, send them out there so they send remittances. Admit enough students into medical schools and fast-track agreements with countries where there is a dearth of medical professionals. Barbados gets nurses from Ghana and soon from Kenya. 1 Barbadian dollar = 50 US cents. Barbados is 90% black. |
Hoodrat:Even in Nigeria and during peaceful times, it was never advisable to use the phones when passing through checkpoints. So many Nigerians are obstinate and believe they can replicate their Nigerian lifestyles elsewhere. |
Silentgroper:There are a lot of Guinean Conakry nationals in Nigeria? What kind of jobs or businesses do they engage in? |
WriteerNg: ![]() After the failed protests aimed at smearing the new govt who is pro-China due to the breadth of Chinese investments in the country, they bring this up to get at the government. I wonder what Vietnam will be asked to do. Xi caused this one, make we talk true. The journey to strangling China has commenced. |
emmaodet:Which is why they are installing their lackeys everywhere and fine-tuning policies. Just recently, Kenya had to suspend signing a trade deal with China, which will remove tariffs on their goods due to US pressure. Meanwhile, the same US is yet to renew the grace period it had with Kenya after AGOA ended. And there is Cambodia which is labelled a China satellite state befriending the US and aims to reduce investments on China. Yes, the non-political interference is actually a plus on China's side, but for allies, those with important resources and geographical neighbours, things might have to change. He added that relations with the US had improved as “misunderstandings” about Cambodia’s Ream naval base had been cleared up. The US suspects Cambodia hosts Chinese naval forces at Ream, which is strategically located on the Gulf of Thailand. Cambodia and China have denied this."Cambodia looks to reduce reliance on China amid US trade war" - FT You see, these are the issues. If China should not have a say on what happens in the Western hemisphere, why does the US believe it should have a say on what happens within China's periphery? I was the one quoting, but the inclusion of the FT link got me banned thrice! |
dederocs:The Nigerian economy nosedived in 2015, and we just had our highest GDP growth rate ever since (still not 5%). During my heydays on Nairaland, there was at least ONE graduate trainee role being advertised on the front page. After Buhari entered, they disappeared. Cut Nigeria's Gen-Zs some slack. |
liveyourlife007:That is not true. Whatever Gen-Zs are doing, their elder counterparts did worse. The Internet just makes theirs very open. Causal sex culture or poor dressing did not start from Gen-Zs. In Nigeria's case, those born after 1995 have nothing to do with the country's economic policies. |
During my heydays of using Nairaland and Twitter, many who are now in their forties criticised younger people (those in their thirties). During #ENDSARS, those in their fifties and sixties criticised young people for protesting. So, it is not surprising to see those who were criticised now doing the criticism. However, what is surprising is seeing how they claim not be Gen-Zs even when their age captures the range for Gen-Zs. This is why I don't take some nomenclature very seriously. |
Memberclub:Please check the age gap of Gen Zs. You are the eldest of Gen Zs. Gen Zs does not mean they don't have older ones. What is it with the age differentiation, whereas you belong to the same class you are lampooning? |
emmaodet:But he said Iran is a proud country. Well, posterity will judge Russia and China if Iran falls. First, it was Syria, then Venezuela. Excuses could be made for those countries, but what would be the excuse for Iran? I have watched Alex Karp of Palantir speak about the aforementioned countries, and it was not in a good light. The way he described them was nauseating, as if they held his toy as a baby. These are the kinds of persons Russia and China are playing kpan-kpangolo with. |
nedu666:That one was clearly a lie, but this particular news is authentic and a very good move by Tinubu. |
