You people want the safety of a place like Dubai and those Golf Arabian countries that use Shariah but would insult Muslims for wanting Shariah
There are other safer places, way safer than Dubai, that don't practice Sharia. But in our case, sometimes, I think southern Nigeria should experience strict Sharia, maybe these vices will drastically reduce.

But then, ritual killings are rife in Kwara, Osun and Ogun where adherents of Sharia reside. So, it's more of a cultural issue than religious.

The story has rituals written all over it. I've always been skeptical about that Lekki-Ajah-Epe axis, and Epe here is the poor man's version of Lekki where all Lekki wannabes live. Houses are ridiculously priced with poor infrastructure everywhere.

The stories of rituals makes dating and even having sex very hard because the girl doesn't trust you even when you have no ill intentions towards her. Evident of a low trust society.

Nothing beats a high trust society.

Young men too as ladies wouldn't trust or find it hard to trust innocent men no matter how innocent and harmless they might be.

Thank God he is echoing my thoughts.
The Iran war is never about Iran rather about snuffing China.
Cut off most of China's oil source and bring them down.
When they are through with Iran, then they draw up which has to go first between Russia and China.
There is nothing wrong with the Iranian regime. They have always wanted to negotiate with US and not do the nuclear weapon to remove the sanctions but US is just using that as an excuse to attack and put a stooge that will tilt to the west and give China a middle finger.
Now Venezuela is not selling oil to China again because the US is now the middle man.
At a point in time, China will have to either bend to the US and knee or fight. No other option.
Even if you install a Democrat government in any country in the world, so far they are under sanctions, whatever they do or any type of government it is will struggle and demand for change of government.
Exactly.

I'm glad there are some European politicians who know the truth and voice it clearly. People are just reading the surface, but in reality, the aim is China. I'm sure the serving European politicians even know, but for public posturing, they pretend to defend "European values".

Up next will be the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.

There is no Nigerian worker earning 1Metete a month legitimately
Your life as judged by your profile is a clear reflection why some people succeed in life or don't. You have a thread which graced the front page - "What kind of jobs do you do to earn a million naira per month?" That's an appropriate question to ask.

Now, you have this post which alleges that those who earn that amount do so illegitimately.

Sirchiboy, this is not a way to prosper as a man. Better change your mind towards life. You have the greatest resource ever - the Internet and thanks to Obasanjo.

IbeOkehie:
Not completely true on both counts.

1) That's the opposite of my own personal experience. Add to that, I know SEVERAL high earning women who married men who earn much less. I'm talking USA based specialist physicians marrying guys making $40 to 70K per year. One particular lady I told you about is in a specialty that earns an average of $400K per year. There's a female oil company executive we knew in Houston whose marriage was similar. This thing is no longer rare or exceptional.

This makes sense once it's understood that resources aren't just FINANCIAL...it's also GENETIC AND SOCIAL. Women in many cases end up being ASSETS not EXPENSES for a man, especially when they bond as a family unit and all ledgers are balanced. It can even be argued that this is merely a reversion to how it used to be....men took women as part of their wealth.

Or we can put it like this - there's broad evidence that women are earning much more than a generation ago. While we acknowledge female hypergamy, the REALITY is that they can't ALL get higher earning men. Thus it ALSO makes sense that more of them will SETTLE or actually PAY for men who're financially poor but RICH in other resources. Now whether women REMAIN happy after settling is another matter that explains high and growing divorce rates .

2) Men are the ones now rejecting marriage, while women are the ones who initiate divorce. All the stats and zeitgeist point to one truth - most young men of every race and nationality have realized that marriage is a big risk, even in Nigeria. I've already told how some younger male family friends are the ones that made me understand this!

Women (those who want marriage) are now the ones chasing men for marriage. A US citizen going to marry someone in Nigeria is BESTOWING a huge life benefit & opportunities on the lucky Nigerian. How do you explain that it's now a big trend for young women of Nigerian background, including those born and and raised in the USA, to seek out husbands in Nigeria? This thing is RAMPANT in the Nigerian community these days.

When I got to the USA it was me and my male peers who were seeking wives in Nigeria, I noticed those who arrived around 2007 to 2010 onwards stopped doing it....these days ZERO young Nigerian men even consider it...they generally don't even want to get married.

Anyway sha, that's what I see.

Good Luck to Nigerians.
1) This article is my response. https://archive.md/2025.12.01-093700/https://www.economist.com/briefing/2025/11/06/all-over-the-rich-world-fewer-people-are-hooking-up-and-shacking-up

Female hypergamy is on steroids across the rich world.

2) Men need sex more than women and women have the monopoly of sex. For this reason, men will need women in their lives. It doesn't have to translate into marriage, but because of sex, men will continue to approach women.

"Plans to invest" are what Agbadorians are celebrating for lack of any achievement to campaign with. This is no different from an MOU. It's not even a Final Investment Decision (FID). Did Dubai not also "plan to invest" trillions in Nigeria's economy? What are the timelines and when is it coming?
If the CEO truly visited the president (I wonder why there's no picture), then consider it to be true. But I thought the term "Bonga" is a place somewhere in the Bright of Benin and associated with areas of Delta, Bayesla and Rivers states?

You need to accept the fact that women are as smart as men and in this 21st century, that means a lot.
There was a report in a prominent US newspaper which stated that as higher paying jobs required less physical strength but mental aptitude, women started getting more of those jobs and began earning a lot of money, surpassing men in some cases/areas.

Runs doesn't fund a middle class lifestyle. It might serve as initial capital for an eventual business which funds the lifestyle, but runs cannot fund a middle class lifestyle. Also, there's a limit to which most girls engage in runs/hookups.

When I say young men should focus on their financial growth rather than bothering themselves with women's economic development, I know why.

I met my university classmate who gisted me how she earned so much money during Covid-19 days and decided to be "unemployed" for a whole year. What did she do during that period? Travelled to Rwanda, Ghana, Ivory Coast and the likes. Her next target is travelling to Europe. She has friends who reject 2m naira per month jobs because according to her "the salary is too low". She has friends in real estate whose commissions are abominably high. The other one has moved to the UK, all by herself. I literally watched these girls build themselves economically and prospered. So, do you mean they can't rent houses in their own?

Young ladies are upskilling themselves. Information is globally and it has no gender restrictions. There's nothing economical that a man can do that a woman cannot.

You lots have a lot to learn and change o.

How can you work for 12 years as a single guy without any achievement before getting married .
No house to your name, no land , no business.
You are a civil servant with NCE and throughout your 12 years working before getting married.
You didnt bother to upgrade your certificate.
You still went ahead and marry a Lady you are 16 years older without education or handwork.
Worst of it. You don't go to church.
Part of your salary was used in playing pool till you retired.
So, how many children did your parents have? Maximum of two is okay, anything more is absolutely nonsense.

Hopefully, you don't repeat his life. The Internet is available for you to learn, unlearn and relearn. Your dad never had this access to a vast amount of information at one's fingertips and largely free.

The Indian society is a deeply rooted in their Religious beliefs. Some are actually breaking away from it but you still find some who hold on to what has been passed down through the ages and I am afraid l, they are in the majority.

This report talks about those who have escaped India and are now in UK, yet carried on with what they hold as true interpretation of their culture. It is even worse on the India sub continent.

The India society beliefs so much in the Caste System that no matter how brilliant, exposed, rich you are you can't escape the discrimination that comes with the Caste the society believes you belong.

Of course they can change that or outlive/outgrow such thinking but have it in mind you will always have those who will hold on.
I wonder how Indians who have historically lived in Malaysia, South Africa, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Singapore, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname do.

African sef dey do am just that it's not in the news.
Ours will be having more children or marrying more wives than aborting the girls. Apparently, since there's no report of such from Black people in the same UK, it means Black people don't practice such a culture of sex selection, but rather having more children or marrying more wives. Also, this means Indians are more open to abortion than Black Africans.

Yes, and this is simply because they lack sex and they will become violent over time.

To think Indians in the UK, a very liberal country with all the opportunities, will engage in such an act says a lot about their culture. One can imagine how it's in India. It will be interesting to know how it's in the likes of Mauritius, Singaporean Indians, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

Also, why are Indian women not marrying out so they escape such a culture? Marry out to who sef? What racial group is most likely to marry Indian women?

Lol, Gerrard, it's high time someone ask these questions. From the outside, one would think it's easy and they're just "dashing" it but as someone who's in the system, I know way better.

The only thing I can say is universities in Lagos (especially Unilag) operate a merit based system. Their process is transparent right from their admission process; if you merit it, you get it. It's as simple as that.

Just as Lagos is above most states in development, the best of brains are the one applying to the school, the competition is massive(high utme scorers) which you know as someone who follow the trend, so this usually translate to great results.

Most universities in the East and other places are corrupt and still hold on to those archaic believe of "A is for God, fight for C" system.

These are few reasons I can think of.
Thank you for your reply.

Surely, someone or persons will have to conduct studies about the phenomenon. I recalled a tweet showing the gradual rise in the score required for Computer Science applicants who wish to study at UNILAG.
