There is absolutely NO reason why a "successful" man shouldn't be faithful to his wife

A lot of successful men are, regardless of how other women throw themselves at them, and thats admirable
What do you say about wives who deny their husbands sex?
RomanceRe: Why Does Society Expect Faithfulness From Successful Men In Relationships? by Gerrard59(m): 11:01pm On Aug 17, 2025
My issue is married women withholding sex from their husbands. Aside from outsiders dictating to someone how to spend their money, there is nothing I detest than a married woman who deliberately denies her husband sex even when the man fulfills his side of being a husband.

The tales from married men of being denied sex, begging for sex and doing all sorts just to make their wives happy all in the bid to get sex is very worrisome. At the same time, the man gets criticised when he goes outside. I'm yet to read any pastor talk about this issue.

People have made First class in Physics. The reason why there are fewer First Class Physics grads is because physics isn't most of the students' choices. JAMB or the university "gave" them Physics.

Any student with a strong foundation in mathematics can attain a first class in physics.

I won't lie, Toke's pregnancy would gladden a lot of Nigerian-based educated and financially stable single ladies in their 30s. Linda Ikeji was the pioneer, then Ini Edo (who isn't really popular on social media as Toke is).

Well, I'm not surprised. It's a Woman's World.

If I may ask, when did this feminism become popular in Nigerian social media? I guess it's recently.
Online feminism kicked off from our women based abroad. For those in Nigeria, it kicked off starting from 2015 and skyrockted in the years leading to COVID. Let's just say it grew alongside social media popularity and smartphones penetration.

I'm focused on the online aspect as the offline aspect is very old.
FamilyRe: Man Who Planned On Leaving Wife With Their 5 Children Surprised When She Leaves by Gerrard59(m): 3:44pm On Aug 15, 2025
I was on an Instagram and Facebook comment sections where ladies outlined ways they would leave the children with the fathers' moms as a preventive measure against being a single mom. The comments were startling to me. Those ladies really mean am.

- I would take the children to his mother
- I would tattoo the child's name and come back in 20 years time
- No be me man go make single mother.

To be honest though, I support them, especially if it would deter unnecessary single parenting. In Jamaica, the fertility rate has dwindled and a major reason women are against having children is because they say men leave too soon, thus leaving them to cater for the family. 40% of households in Jamaica are headed headed by single mothers. That's abnormal for any society. So, these women having experienced life in such households are against repeating it going forward.

So, it's a good thing women would leave the children for the man's parents if he's too irresponsible to divorce amicably.

The thing is men are now setting standards for themselves just like women. It is very good. Women in their teens will all tell you they wanna marry a rich man. It is with time and after experiencing harsh reality they begin to lower the bar. I know most women bill, but there are some kind of billings I hate to entertain. Billings like airtime, sanitary pads, food e.tc. An adult female should be able to cater for such personal bills else she is not worthy to be in a relationship.
It's actually good men are setting standards. After the reign of online feminazism and a harsh economy, men are demanding more than just being a "woman". Whether this online rhetoric applies in real life, I don't know.

Sure, an adult female, just like every adult, should be able to cater for the basics of life's necessities. However, women still bill. It's innate in them.

Mr Gerard gud day. I'm sorry for bumping into like dis, but I have a few questions Abt ur view on Czech Republic visa application and appointment. Currently the Czech government scholarship is open and I have successfully applied though reply will be sent by 30th of Sept. Do you think if the application is successful, getting visa appointment will still be difficult?
Thanks boss
Please go through the Czech Republic to know better. Since it's the government scholarship, obtaining a visa shouldn't be hard. It's the same with all governmental scholarships - winners get preferential treatment compared to other categories of student visa applicants.

It's just that I'm not interested in anything academics as it concerns Eastern Europe.

My apologies.

Why do some of our men have this belief that a lady who isn't broke won't be demanding or bill you?

Being a demanding or billing babe has nothing to do with a woman's financial status. Women are generally billiers. I classify them as an expense.

Cc: Seun, I understand the need for engagements most times irrespective of the quality.. However, please more of these educative threads on front page at least to balance the political bitterness threads..
The bigotry is promoted by full-fledged adults, not Gen-Zs. When did Nigerian Gen-Zs gain easy access to the Internet? Was it Gen-Zs that promoted tribal bigotry in 2015? There are monikers that have been promoting tribal bigotry as far back as 2010, and those were not Gen-Zs. You people should take it easy with the Gen-Zs blame. They met Nigeria the way it is. They did not cause Nigeria's problems.

The tribal bigory on this site and elsewhere on Nigerian Internet space is heavily promoted by adults in their mid-30s to early 40s. Yes, you read that right. 40-year-olds are the people promoting tribal bigotry on Nairaland.

Gerra.rd59 is the only honest male that has accountability on this forum. Only one to understand men raging hormones and not delude himself with,"why can't they close their legs" or "if women say no,sex will not happen"

Explain why a lady should reach 23 remaining a virgin with men at all cardinal points wanting sex. This are news that make it to the frontpage .imagine the ones we don't know of.in IDP camps the distributors of food hoard food for sex for the victims.women in hospitals with sick kids but can't pay are promised free treatment in exchange for sex.in police station, same thing, that is the bale money.university same thing in order not to fail courses. A gender that drinks, sleeps and feeds on sex shouldn't be anxious and accusative on the decline of virgins I think in titanic, men traded sex for women to enter lifeboats
From my observations so far, many Nigerians are dishonest and don't like to accept responsibility or hard evidence when presented. Also, they don't like to be questioned. The urge for sex by men is mostly biological. I have even thought God should have created man in such a way that testosterone gets only activated for sexual purposes in his 30s, but the drive to succeed, fight and make money should be as it is.

I am not convinced by the virginity discourse on social media because as long as men keep hunting for sex and are proud of being polygamous by nature, there is no way we would have virgins. The math is not mathing. The solution to having more virgins would be the Sharia way, but those who champion for virgins would be against Sharia. Catch-22 situation.

As for IDP camps, it is rampant and the men are even proud. The US Army does the same in locations where they have their bases or during wartime. The average man likes to have unfettered access to sex. Some do it at all costs.

It is the dishonesty and hypocrisy by our people that pisses me off.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Job Hunting Is Tough. by Gerrard59(m): 5:22pm On Aug 12, 2025
To be honest, 30 applications for an entry-level graduate in a month is very small. It should be a minimum of 10 applications per weekday. This translates to 200 applications in a month. Looking for a job is a job on its own. The only country I have seen where the labour market stats really favour fresh graduates is Japan. Apart from COVID years, the employment rate of new graduates has always been above 95%. I have a part-time co-worker who had four offers. I had two offers, while my fellow Nigerian friend had four as well. The best and brightest Japanese graduates get as many as five offers from top companies, especially if the student begins job hunting early and attends a top university. Here, secondary school leavers can also apply to standard graduate trainee positions. The belief is that you stay with the firm for a long time. So, we have youngsters as young as 18/19/20 who join as new graduates. By 28/29/30, they have become managers within the department. Those who go through the university system become managers within five years. Nevertheless, the employment rate of university graduates has always been above 95%.

So, it is not a Nigerian issue, but also affects many countries, both developed and developing. Whether the US, UK, Germany, South Korea, Indonesia, etc. Some are characterised by many jobs but low salaries. Here, the citizens japa to favourable markets. An instance is Indonesians leaving for Japan and Singapore. Malaysians to Singapore. In some, the competition is so fierce, they leave for nearby countries. Here, South Koreans head to Japan, ditto Chinese to Japan. Some no dey see work at all to the extent their governments mandate labour exchange in every trade agreement. Here, we have Indians. In some, there are no jobs, so everybody knows the only thing is to leave. Here, Italians and Spaniards leave for Northern Europe, Germany and Switzerland. In some, the competition is fierce, salaries are low, and taxes are high; they move elsewhere. Here, Brits move to the UAE/Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Finally, in some, the market has seen a reduction in jobs yet student debt hangs on, they accept lower salaries and change career paths. This is the US.

In summary, the world is toff, yet people still dey born born plenty children. With the Internet comes easy access to information and opportunities, but it brings stiffer competition. Life is toff. Na so e be.

Yes I agree that proximity is key , but for someone that lives on the mainland and got a job on the island. It's not my fault that I have no place to crash on the island and it's not the company's fault having their offices on the island. Just that I've seen differences in salaries based on both and I can not work on the mainland based on the poor take home. But salaries on the island are higher but to get one is hell, they keep switching off n on. Meanwhile like you said on your previous message, small companies on the mainland needed people but couldn't catch up with the pay. It's way lower, transportation will consume it all and one will be left to nothing at the end of it all.
Now for those on the island, just few companies have apartments for their workers/ staffs , which helps allot because I discovered nearly 50% of those working on the island are living on the mainland and half of them are sleeping on the street. Ive been there, I couldn't cope and had to come back home after 4 month . I know it's hard on employers same way it's hard on employees. But they shouldn't just rise people hopes and then let them down at the end of the day
So, why can't our companies pay transport allowance or offer a free bus shuttle to permanent employees?

This is why there should be a mass metro system in Lagos linking the mainland and the island. I thought those were what the Red and Blue lines are for?

May the Japanese and the rest of East Asians live long.

Ghana is peaceful and all but Nigeria is way better. I have great friends from my short vacations in Labone and Osu, however our high brow areas will easily dust theirs.

I'm not saying this as a competition thing, but seeing that people read posts like these and fantasize about a land flowing with milk and honey, it's necessary to enlighten the thread readers.

The port Harcourt OP is even coming from is way better than a lot of places in Accra, not to talk of Lagos and Abuja. We have better infrastructure too.

As per the light, our light in Nigeria (most parts) has greatly improved and is similar now to what you will obtain in Accra (if you factor in "Dumsor" or load shedding).

If you leave Accra and head to places like Kumasi and other sub regions, then you will understand that Nigeria is light years ahead of a lot of these African countries.

In summary, Ghana is a lovely country. Only go there if you have legitimate business being there. A lot of people go to foreign countries and end up in crime due to frustrations of not being able to secure a job or find something doing. Plan well before making life changing decisions you might end up regretting.

What Nigeria need is a bit of leadership and you will see that we can only be compared to just one or two countries in Africa. If you must leave Nigeria, head only to the UK, Canada, US, Australia and maybe Germany.
This is a well crafted and balanced comment. More of such please.

From my little experience and readings, only South Africa is better than Nigeria in Africa. However, we fail in safety metrics due to the ethnic structure of our polity.

RomanceRe: Drop A Female Lie That Women Think We Don't Know by Gerrard59(m): 1:41pm On Aug 11, 2025
Goo0dHardDick:
You haven't come across girls who enjoy sex na why you dey yarn this thing. You've probably been having sex with girls who doesn't have urge for it.
Women don't enjoy sex because konji doesn't catch them abi? As in they're sticks and firewoods? I don't know how some of you men think and reason. You even said men need sex more than women? How? Haven't you seen guys who had stayed for years without sex? Dude women need sex far more than men do.
Basic biology states that men have the hormone testosterone. This hormone propels men to produce sperm cells every day, and these cells need to be expelled. The only realistic way to ejaculate is via the vagina. Only women have this organ. Men have the urge to have sex every day. That is the biology. Men don't experience menstruation, nor do they have specific days within the calendar when they feel horn¥. It is men who need sex, and this is why we spend thousands/millions of dollars supporting the sex industry across the world.

Women enjoy sex, but with only men they have emotional feelings for. Additionally, women can stay long without sex. We have had married men on Nairaland lament how their wives withhold sex from them for months. Some of these men have had to go outside to satisfy their thirst. Men stay without sex because they cannot afford to have sex. Any woman in Nigeria or elsewhere who wants to have sexual intercourse today would get it. It is easy. Men are that horn¥. Check Nigerians who japa'd, it is ONLY the Men who complain that they have not had sex. I am yet to see a Nigerian woman complain of a lack of sex.. I know one who brought s£x toy from Nigeria so she uses it when she is hot.

In fact, with s£x toys, women technically don't need men for sex sef. There is a big market for such products in the country. My friend, based in Lagos, dates a girl in our home city who made her money selling s£x toys. He showed me a pic of her inventory and said she confirms that sales are high. She is 26 (as at the time the discussion was had), living in the most expensive part of the city. Imagine a lass living in Ikeja GRA based on sales of d!l dos and vibrators?

This is simple for anyone to understand. A woman won't come to you until you go for her and talk to her yourself even when she's dyin-g to have you on bed with her. The girls who have been to my house were the ones chasing me around for sex. Another girl wan use sex finish me, she always comes from school to my place every weekend, at a point, I told her I travelled I wasn't around, I said this because this girl loves and enjoys sex like tomorrow no dey so i needed to lie that I wasn't around. Dude, this girl needed the sex far more than I do! She doesn't even hide her own she tells it to me straight on call that she wants it and she's coming right away. I always look for ways to tell her I'm not at home.
I am not doubting that women don't enjoy sex. Maybe because I did not flesh out my reply as I am now. Also, maybe the notion of sex by younger women today has changed over the years. As you mentioned in one of your mentions, the reason most don't experience it is because of the prudish and sanctimonious nature of our society, and this is even regional sef (in Nigeria). For instance, women in the Caribbean (Jamaica, Barbados, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, etc) wear bikinis and panties freely with no one shouting OS or ashawo. Ordinary birthday celebration in Benue, a man wrote an epistle on Facebook. So, tell me, in which society would women sexually express themselves freely?

The problem I see is our hypocrisy: we, the men, want to have sex with as many women as possible, but we want to control how women view sex. We want the women to be chaste, but we want to be polygamous in nature. The math would not math because we have sex with women, not ghosts. I like sex, and this is why you would never see me criticise sex workers or girls who love sex.

Dey play shaa! Google has manipulated you to believe that women doesn't like nor enjoy sex whereas in reality they enjoy it far more than men but good at pretending. Besides a girl will not have sex with you if she has nothing to gain (money). Also a girl can do it again and again with you if she enjoyed the previous one. U won't understand shaa. Continue reading Google
They enjoy sex, but with the men they have feelings for. I am glad you agree that a girl wouldn't want to have sex without gaining something. We agree on one thing there: nothing like free sex. Every man pays for it.

Our sexually active and audacious women are making a lot of money selling sex to the biggest buyers, who happen to be the loudest complainers. Check OnlyFans and AllAccessFans, which is owned by Nigerians. Those guys grossed over a billion naira in transaction fees. It is our men who send a random girl on Twitter 500K because she is beautiful. It is men who need sex way more than women.

See here: https://x.com/AdaofLONDON/status/1953475695834767555. She has over a thousand subscribers. Another one based in Lekki bought an exotic car not long ago. Another graduated from the biochemistry department of a federal university and went deep into sex trade. I checked her IG page, and the birthday bash she held was very loud.

Who patronises these women? Why would they do so if they don't need sex more?

It is not a Google thing, but basic peer-reviewed research papers. We need sex more than women, and this is why most men don't see an issue with having sex with different women in different areas. Na our men dey look for sex workers when embarking on trips outside their bases. There is a reason why sex work thrives where mining and transport/haulage hubs are situated.

Processing is the best.

I know the European will find excuse to not accept the processed cocoa

But Belgium companies should come set up here
We have companies that export processed cocoa butter and powder to the EU. Alternatively, target non-EU countries. This is where signing trade deals comes to play. We don't sign trade deals at all. South American countries had to threaten the EU before the latter agreed to fast-track their trade agreement because it wants to protect its agricultural industry.

I don't expect Belgian firms to set up operations in Nigeria. To make that happen, Ghana and Ivory Coast would have to ban the export of raw cocoa beans. They have so much power over the volume of cocoa. Competitors from South America might want to truncate it by exporting raw beans to Europe, but we have to increase cocoa acreage to ensure such a ban works.
