Which Bukola’s mom is from Oyo? His mother is a Jamaican.
Studying Arabic does not turn you to Fulani. Olusola Saraki said it with his mouth that they’re fulani and I will take his word over yours.
Where did I deny that OIusola Saraki isn't Fulani when his father is clearly from Mali? According to the records, Bukola's mother is from Oyo. Do you have any contrary evidence to that claim?

Greetings from the International Student Exchange Division of WXYZ University.
We are pleased to offer a free airport shuttle bus service for new international students, running from WXYZ Airport to the WXYZ Campus dormitories on September ..., ..., and ....
Please refer to the following URL for the bus schedule and pick-up point maps:

I just pray make my COE come out on time make i fit enjoy this free airport shuttle grin
Max three months or more, depending on the prefecture. It is expected that once the COE is dispatched, you are expected to be issued the visa. Give it a week between the delivery of the COE at the visa application centre and visa issuance. During my time, visas were issued within three working days.

For Japan, to be issued a resident visa, the COE is the ultimate.

Thank you. My pleasure.

I got influenced greatly by the Internet. It's the reason I take my time to listen to both sides of any ideology or concept to make my own opinion and say. For instance, way before the US-China trade war intensified, I started reading pro-Chinese newspapers so I balanced the Western leaning dailies I also read.

Nairaland has been of great benefits to me. A major reason I'm still active and would be till I kpeme. I've learnt a lot in the time I've been here.

But I'm also a bad influence in some areas sha. I'm not perfect cheesy grin

I seriously doubt gamblers live longer than non-gamblers. I am too lazy to check empirical studies, but the negative effects of gambling can hasten one's death compared to a non-gambler.

Bro, you have to be strategic and intentional with taking care of yourself as a man.

I used to deny myself some luxury things because I wanted to have some money left to cater for families and extended families, including some projects I was handling. Despite the fact that I was trying to be economical, I saw myself, especially my wife, spending thousands of naira on my children to buy good clothes for them. I sent monies to extended family members, yet, kept on denying myself of some good things. I had to put a stop to it, starting with my resignation from my place of work in 2016 to go solo and set up my own independent consultancy as the 9-5 job was taking a great toll on my health and well being.

My wife objected because she was the number one beneficiary of the generous emolument I was receiving as staff but I had to explain myself that I needed to rediscover myself and focus on myself, seeing what many men that had worked hard for their families faced. In my house, i have a personal fridge in my room, where I stock it with all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I go out on my own to enjoy myself, buy the best clothes I could offer, wear the sneakers that I have always cherished and above all, have all the time myself doing what I like as I don't report to any boss.

I have said it before, even though my annual consultancy fee has not matched my last emolument as a salaried person, I am still far happier now than I was as staff. I have to manage my costs and live within the means of what my consultancy is bringing. Thank God, I was able to invest wisely while still a salaried worker, it helped to sustain my current status. My health and overall well-being are far better and I live a far better quality of life.
Thank you very much sir for this detailed explanation.

I appreciate it.

A lot to learn and unlearn from experienced folks.

Most men are older than their wives with at least 5yrs. A Nlder of 40yrs was asking if he can marry a 20yrs old lady. Is she supposed to die before him? Also men take on riskier careers and lifestyles. When it comes to health, my mum would rush to the hospital for slight headache, but we have to drag my dad to same hospital.

As for family/financial stress, it ages a man like crazy. I know men who are going through it and everything is their fault. I don't pity them.
Hopefully, young men are learning. If not for Obasanjo Internet, how person for get different perspectives about the current situation of married men in Nigeria?

Wait, father is fulani and mother is Jamaican, so where did they get all the Yoruba names, Olusola, Bukola, Gbemi and Tosin from?
Maybe because Bukola's mom is from Oyo state. Where did you get the information that his mom is Jamaican?

Also, maybe because Bukola's grandfather studied Islamic studies in illorin.

My maternal grandfather was 19-20 years older than his wife. In that case his dying before his wife was because he did not take care of himself? LOL...the man was healthy till the day he passed on at 89.

My paternal grandfather died in his sixties. Oh yes, he overworked himself...but not just for his family, he was also involved in many acitivies for and on behalf of the village. All his wives (he was a polygamist), were some 20-30 years younger than him

Nigerians of fifty to sixty years ago, the men married women much younger than them. So, even if they took care of themselves, they would have died before their wives. Long before their wives. Especially in the North...dangote's mum was probably married to her husband when she was 13, and he was in his forties..lol. That's why the women outlive them so to speak.

Your comment is good...but I also detect hate for women in it. You ought to stop looking at women as bad and evil people. They are not. My paternal grandffather's wives were also his chief helpers on his various farms , and some of them worked alongside him. And the man had brothers who lived to 100 years old...in two cases.

You men on this site, better stop hating women. Yes, we should take care of ourselves, but that does not mean we should not take care of the women in our lives. And your examples are very poor examples.

I spoke about this last week with hubby.

Hubby asked, why do women in most cases live longer than men.
I answered, the woman exercises herself from morning till evening.

He asked how, I said, I'm an example.

If I am not working online, I'm cooking or sweeping or doing the dishes or laundry or cleaning the house or baby-sitting.
It's always from one work to the other.

A man doesn't do much exercises.
Most men that exercises, have young looks and live longer.
Actually, men take more risks and marry much younger women. Those are the major reasons husbands kpeme before their wives. Men are the ones engaged in military conflicts and do more harder/physical jobs.

As for the bold, mostly men above their 50s. I want to believe many young men - 20s and 30s - now see regular exercises as essential to their wellbeing. No be everyday beer and shayo 🙄

As a man, if you don't want to take care of yourself, na you sabi. The pressure and demands of the society are already stacked against us. Don't over do yourself all in the name of providing for your children and unborn kids. Be selfish and indulge yourself on things you like, that may likely prolong your life. Spend that money and get yourself quality fruits all the time, eat healthy, exercise, go out solely and enjoy yourself. Slow down and take it easy. If your body is not strong for any hustle, shelve it and regain your mojo and health before anything. Finally, if you don't have the means to cater for a family, don't marry yet, or better, postpone it till you are better prepared, financially. Financial stress and pressures have ruined many young men in their quest to meet up with the demands of the family.
Thank you, sir. But the most important aspect isn't included: fewer children. Nothing, absolutely nothing (this is globally referenced) defeats having fewer children.

The average Nigerian family shouldn't have more than two children.

You need to understand that only few blacks in the Caribbeans still practice our culture or connect to their African root. We assume many want to connect to their ancestry because of social media. Many of them hate to be identified as Africans, they also do not practiced our core culture, what they have is a diluted one. I have met people from the Caribbeans, many look exactly like Africans but hate to be called Africans. One incident almost caused a physical fight.

The only reason why Africans always remind other blacks of their African ancestry is because they want to feel superior.
Interesting and thank you for your sharing your experience.

In my view, Africans, especially West Africans, do so because they want friends, aka the attachee syndrome. "Other people must like me". So, yes, you are right - a way to feel superior, whereas we don't have the financial/economic power to project/show that superiority. Mainland Chinese can project their interests towards their cousins in Southeast Asia. We cannot.

I expect this very soon or immediately, Tinubu gets a second term. Afterwards, those in the private sector would be affected as well with a silent blanket ban on the recruitment of people with Igboid names.

Those I pity are Igbos who have a parent, especially dad, as Igbo and Igbos born and raised in the south west. Too Igbos to be considered Yorubas and too Yorubas to be seen as Igbos. Aptly described as those with tainted blood.

Nigeria can't be robbing South West to pay South East and Igbos will still be migrating to South West to shortchange Yorubas of the meagre resources allocated to the region (despite generating the highest revenue for FG).
How exactly is Nigeria robbing the south west? What does the south west have that was taken away from it and given to others? What is it that you deserve that you are not given?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but is the Eze of Ajao Estate still in prison? The last I read was an Igbo group calling for his conditional release because of his ill health. If that man is still in jail, why do you believe any grandstanding by our people would be feared? Number one, you cannot fight the natives in their land. This is not the United States.

Let me state it: nothing would happen. That is the truth. Nevertheless, expect more anti-Igbo policies here and there. It is going to be a long battle. My major problem is that our people are too braggadocious.

Black American ancestors were Africans 400 years ago but that doesn’t automatically make them African today. They don’t speak any African languages, eat African food, or wear traditional African clothing. Culturally, they are not African and have no direct connection to the continent apart from ancestral roots.

The same applies to white Americans. Their ancestors came from Europe, but they are not European. The same can also be said about white Australians their forebears were from Europe, but they are not considered Europeans today.
While the rest of your post is true and thought-provoking, many White Americans can accurately trace their ancestry to present-day European countries and even villages. Some still hold their ancestral countries to heart.

See here: https: //archive.md /7o651/again?url=https://www. ft. com/content/5c6ef531-847c-414a-bbec-f2f25574e1e5

Ancestry is not the same as identity. Culture, language and daily life define who we are more than where our ancestors came from.

And if the argument is that African Americans are not Africans because of their lived experiences, what about those in the Caribbean (Bahamas, Jamaica etc)? Their lived experiences differ from African Americans and some of their cultural practices still have African roots. What do you say?

Way before this particular edition got popular, another Nairalander and I had analysed the past winners and only came across one Black participant (a Nigerian) who got to either the Bronze or Silver stage.

If poverty is to be blamed for the absence or poor understanding of foundational mathematics by Black people, what about African Americans who are way richer than Black Africans? How come even children of Black African immigrants in the US and Europe cannot come top? I was shocked when I saw two and on a closer look THREE Chinese South Africans. C'mon! If Chinese can come top to be included in the South African team, then it is largely genetic because the same Chinese and their cousins make up 40% of the 10 countries.

China and Vietnam were poorer than African countries during the 40s, 50s and 60s.

I'm not going there because it's cheaper or expensive nor going there to work. Need a sane country to live and get their passport. Open trading account with US brokers to trade stock option and futures. The limitations on Nigerians is too much.

And with what I've watch on YouTube Nigeria is more expensive than brazil if you actually want to live and not mere existing.

2 bedroom apartment "casa" in sao paulo is from R$2.000 to R$5,000 (350$-900$) imagine paying R$3000 per month (6,500 usd or 9m naira in a year) for a beautiful 2bedroom condo apartment with constant light, good water, gym, pool, event/dinner area etc in brazil and you've the privilege to visit hospital for free treatment, go to nearby city and you don't have to pay to use the beach and on Sunday free public transport and other benefits from the government.

Compare the above scenario to living in lagos IV or Ikoyi paying more than 15 millions naira or more for an average empty old 2 bed apartment without constant light, dirty water, smelly streets with bad road. No benefits from government, pay more than 700k in a month in band A, spend more than 150k for Internet. Drive 15mins and see people living on water from your home, on a good afternoon you can easily spend more than 2 hours in traffic from VI - Ajah. You'll pay to enter beach nothing is free, one king somewhere has arranged boys to collect from people. You can't even travel with your car or go on road trips without the fear of police, bandits, biafra with their sit at home. You need to hold extra money when travelling with your car for police men. I can go on and on, Nigeria isn't a place for a sane person to live unless you're benefiting from corruption and you're corrupt too.
Nevertheless, people are living in Nigeria and thriving. I understand the bold you outlined, but for the majority, Nigeria is home, and there is nothing they can do about it - even if they want to. Ozzyetomi once mentioned that some people cannot leave Nigeria because they want their children to grow up amongst people who look like them (the children). Everyone cannot japa.

But then, Lagos is not Nigeria. Those issues you mentioned, some people would never experience most of them because they don't live in Lagos and would never do so.

On what class/category of visa did you move with? This is before asking if the person speaks Portuguese.

If he wants economic support as a Black man, perhaps he should consider moving to the State of Bahia. Then comes the questions:

- Do you speak Portuguese?
- Do you have the right visa to get an okay job in the region?

Black dominated countries no dey feature for this list. Does it mean that we are not naturally good at mathematics? Even the highest ranked African country - South Africa - its team was composed of White and Chinese South Africans.

It seems some things in life are largely genetic, aka by nature, rather than by nurture.
