Freshtruth:I don't why I bursted laughter. 🤣🤣🤣 P.S. Poultry isn't bad provided he controls both the production and retail end. |
nickae:Chai! Makeup has done it again 😔 |
MeekGram7:So what are Imo male elites doing about it? Going by the revelations here, half of FUTO's male students are at risk. This is why to drive certain cars outside Lagos and Abuja is frightening. |
PuZZyNegro:Sorry, but the bold is not possible as women are hypergamous. This even happens in wealthier societies - women pay attention to the earnings of the men who are interested in them. Poorer in finances than them (women)? The women are not interested. |
candygist:He stated struggling guys. Are Yahoo boys the conventional definition of struggling boys? |
Gotocourt:In its raw form, men are success/financial beings while women are sexual beings. That is the raw state of man-woman relationship across all living mammals. |
Oyinbogyal:Then there's no cultural obligation from you because the argument might be if your dad isn't financially stable, his children should assist the children of his (your dad) siblings. With regard to my cousins in Nigeria , I feel no obligation to help them, all of my resources are flowing downward to my children.Fair enough. know my dad may expect me to help them or his other family members at some point but it’s kind of his fault also, he chose to have kids with a oyinbo woman and raise his kids in Europe, I don’t feel any sense of cultural obligation to do these things. Especially when my family in Nigeria made no effort to know me.Yes, that's of the effects of marrying a White woman. So, hopefully they in Nigeria are mentally ready. Bar them from viewing your social media updates. Maybe it's because I've a soft spot for high academic achievers and know how financially tasking job hunting can be, especially for those outside Lagos and Abuja, I would suggest support those who are serious. But please, verify o. Ask questions and seek evidence. Hard evidence. |
TrainPark:Thank you for your reply. |
As usual, the problem is too many children. It's bad that your dad didn't contribute to your education or leave a legacy for you and your siblings. It's also bad that your distant cousins are disturbing you every now and then. In your dad's defence about him sending money home. In some cultures and families, one child is supported by the rest of the family to exit Nigeria. So, it's expected that the child remembers others in Nigeria. If that was the case of your dad, it's only fair he supports those at home. However, this should be to a limit as his children (you and your siblings) now come first. As for your cousins, the best you can do would be to support any or those (as you can support) who are doing something useful with their lives. So, if one is prepping for say the GRE or applying to jobs and needs a bit of financial support, fair enough to lend a helping hand. But for those with endless rent, school fees, everyday sickness, say no. Mind you, even the job hunters and postgraduate applicants, always verify the authenticity of their demands. Our people are innately dishonest. For those with children, before you lend help, ask them how many children do you have? Those with three and above? Don't help them. The best you can do is to pay for the man's vasectomy. Best regards. |
Nigerians have exported their rabid tribalism to the Internet. Tomorrow, they would wonder why other Africans despise them and later whine about xEnOpHoBiA. I'm glad other Africans are witnessing the true nature of the average Nigerian. They must have been deceived by Nollywood and our Afrobeats. This is how ordinary Nigerians behave. |
Deepspirituals:Anyone who accurately reveals the everyday behaviour of yahoo yahoo boys either has lived, worked with or dated them. Whether as friends, business partners, neighbours or lovers, such people should be avoided by responsible human beings. |
Tightpussy2024:Any girl who has dated or dates a yahoo yahoo boy is seriously a damaged person. Why should a hard working young man date or marry such a person? I wouldn't recommend a hard working lass to date a yahoo yahoo or ritualist fellow. The reason she's questioned is because she knows so much about yahoo yahoo boys. So it strongly suggests she has worked with and/dated them. Most Nigerians don't engage in casual research or deep observation unless they participate in that field. |
koning:I agree with this. Build, save, invest and CHOP as well. Next of kin should continue with what they see, but CHOP yours to the fullest. What's an octogenarian going to do with more than a quarter of a trillion naira? P.S. The chop also includes philanthropy. |
fineboynl:Their fear is that their moms built with their dads only for the latter to spend on baddies once they became financially stable. Just as some men are warning other men not to train their wives-to-be in the university. |
Beremx:Lol Lol Lol He should let go. It's a bad investment. Such is life. |
completeskills:This screams envy. Peller as odd as he sounds offer value and in return gets paid for it. Nothing stops you from offering value to the world. If you want to make a of money, offer value so people pay you for it. No one pays you big big money because you toiled so hard or have so many degrees. |
Omenlon:Obidients are largely very delu sional. Allow them be. |
TrainPark:Thanks for your comment. Any idea how much professors at Covenant, Babcock, ABUAD etc., earn per month? |
The truth is: academia isn't a lucrative sector. Harvard MBA graduates earn more than their professors once they convoke. Bachelor degree holders in Mathematics and Physics out-earn their professors once they take up offers in financial services corporations. Anyone who wants to earn a lot of money as a skilled professional should omit academia. The salary of a software engineer in Tokyo is almost 90% what my professors earned as Associate Professors. One left to the private sector where salaries are higher. If you want to make a of money in academia, you need to write and sell books, discover new technologies and collaborate with investors and/or private corporations. The latter is what my head professor did - he works on compounds chemical companies are interested in. Thus, he drives two cars - both German. I've been told of professors who are rich because they research alongside robotic companies. One drives a Porsche. A good example of such a professor is George Church. Nevertheless, salaries in the public sector in Nigeria are abysmal. With the figures I've seen up there, it has exacerbated considering the hyperinflation. My then dean earned max 500K per month. This was pre-Covid. With the devaluation of the naira, removal of subsidy and general inflation, whatever she earns now (based on those figures) is largely worthless. However, academia isn't a lucrative sector. It only offers job security and work life balance. |
Nnamdipapa:I think the same applies to me. I'm just lucky almost everything was free. Chai! God has been good to me. |
Well, that's life for you. The state of the economy has a lot to play. She and husband should do all they can not to have more children. That would be the road to multidimensional poverty. |
dokpanefe:Interesting. So why did he relocate since he was doing well in Nigeria to the extent he had a house, land and two cars? He also financed the cost of relocating the woman. Nna mehn, men dey try o |
dokpanefe:If your tale is true, then why did he not divorce? I think our men are so invested in marriage it becomes hard for them to let go. |
Infolenka:That is an American definition. Elsewhere, he is biracial. Na America dey do the one-drop rule. If he were a Brazilian, he would be categorised as White. From RaySimran's explanation, Cole is a White man. Henceforth, his children would be classified, rightfully so, as white. P.S. Racial definition goes beyond the US. The world of racial definitions does not start and end in the US. |
Noted. So NUN is the Nile University of Nigeria? SeeWahala:I seriously doubt a well informed First Class Law grad would be unemployed or even underemployed |
The issue I've with the so-called antagonism towards Gen-Zs is: how is Nigeria better if the older generations are better disciplined? Nigeria is a classic example of how elderly people destroyed the country's economic growth. The majority of the heinous crimes committed by Nigerians across the world aren't by dem Gen-Zs, but older folks. Na Gen-Zs dupe American government and companies of Covid-19 funds? Was it Gen-Zs that hid foreign donor palliatives from ordinary Nigerians? Socalled disciplined elderly folks aren't better and are in my books way worse than the Gen-Zs. No be Gen-Zs spoil Nigeria. They met it that way. |
NybenSBF101:So what about Jonathan's administration compared to Buhari's? Please check the stats: we have not had a GDP growth rate of 5% and above ever since Jonathan left office. Who succeeded Jonathan? That is where the issue started from. |
NybenSBF101:If Tinubu's administration is so unbearable, what about the man before him? I'm curious, why didn't you leave during Tinubu's predecessor's tenure? Was his predecessor's tenure better than that of Tinubu? |
SmartPolician:That's the problem with highly populated countries. The scenario you outlined happens in China and India. I once asked a Chinese grad at a job fair here, why Japan since your country has a much bigger economy? His response? The competition is too fierce. So, we've to go out. The same applies to university admissions. It's so competitive that bright folks have to go elsewhere so they get into good schools. Even after graduation, jobs are fiercely competed for in China notwithstanding the size of the economy. Invariably, birth rates are very low because the young people are tired and burned out. Whereas in Nigeria, young people are having four children. Tomorrow, they blame Tinubu 🙄 |
ufotunang:So why does Obi want to dodge a primary? Did Tinubu not go through a primary in APC? He wants it handed over to him and that's not fair to other formidable candidates. Let him test his popularity within the coalition. Anyway, the coalition wasn't going to work in the first place. Coalition that has 80% former APC members. What's the difference between six and half a dozen? |
Lol Dude would lose again, and this time woefully. So he basically wants an easy walk to be the presidential candidate of a party that has two formidable candidates who are well known across Northern Nigeria? Lol So ADC doesn't give him the ticket, what happens afterwards? He returns to divided Labour? Lol Man is going to lose again. Congratulations in advance to Tinubu. Lol. |
