babztee:How exactly is he lying? Was USD easy to obtain pre-Tinubu, yes or no? |
Those who complain about the presence of the opposite sex in gyms should patronise single sex gyms. There are such gyms in Lagos and Abuja. Complaining has never solved a problem. Patronise where only your gender is accepted. |
Twoclans:Thing is: our men like the easy access to sex, but the rise in the spate of complaints is because the economy isn't performing well enough. The average Nigerian man likes to spend on women, both related and non-related. But as the economy has gotten tougher and women chanting equality as well as they (women) competing in the same labour market as men, the men are beginning to demand the women earn an income. And truly, when women earn their own money, they become more selective and have higher standards/requirements for men. It's the reason our women in the abroad can decide to remain single for eternity and also why our men in the abroad love to visit Nigeria every year because sex is cheaper and easily accessible in the country. Both genders know what they are doing, but they are not honest towards themselves. |
"Love cannot exist in the world's poverty capital" - Tensazangetsu20, 2022. |
Truvelisback:The contextual definition of success has to explained. If you mean financial success as a result of attending a tertiary institution, studying a math/quantitative based course increases one's chances of being financially comfortable. |
Kalulu44:So how do residents in those areas cope? What about FESTAC and environs? |
Urgent1Million:So how do the tie knotting students at LBS survive if the place is dangerous? |
WhizdomXX:Both states are gone. Their future is in ruins. The effects will show itself fully in five to ten years time. |
chaiks:Does "papers" here mean permanent residency? What's "PS" in this context? If it's permanent residency, the only platform is the point system pathway. The other option is to marry a Japanese, which has nothing to do with possessing a PhD degree. |
themanderon:Honestly, the effects are going to be horrific! Any society where the majority of the males believe financial success can majorly or only be obtained via fraudulent activities is in trouble! Big trouble! |
Buhari and those who campaigned and voted for him in 2015 destroyed the country's economic growth and trajectory. The effects are still showing today. What they did was catastrophic! Some are still arrogant about their involvement. |
aspabay:You dey mind them? Tomorrow, they would be issuing innuendos at the British Council. |
Was it also tribal bigotry from the governor of Benue? This man who alongside Pat Utomi campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015 won't allow someone to hear word. What does he know about politicking? |
Singapore is prohibitively expensive for most Nigerians. The universities there charge more than Oxbridge fees for non-South East Asians. Permanent residency and/or naturalisation is almost impossible for Black people. As for Poland and Czech Republic, please check their student pages on Nairaland to know how difficult it is to obtain a student visa to study there. |
bestman09:Just like Madonna. No wonder the best private universities in Nigeria are domiciled in the south west. See the difference between the incident in Babcock University and this university with a funny looking name? The Yorubas do it better. No be my mouth. |
E be like say I don dey understand why 9 out 10 Nigerian feminists are Igbo women. The ill-treatment towards this girl is uncalled for. You penalise the person who leaked the video, not the person whose video was leaked. And to think this is a university environment in the south?! Tomorrow, we would read that the north is this and that. These are some of the reasons I encourage young Nigerian women to relocate even for a while to places where they can be psychologically free. |
ekhai:Northern ladies also marry much older men. Sanusi's most recent wife was 18 when they wedded. A former governor of a core northern state married a very young girl. Then there's the popular ex-Zamfara state governor. The question is: how come such a beautiful private university educated lady couldn't find a man who doesn't loathe her ethnic group to marry? |
Lionnation:But she studied at a private university, in the Nigerian scenario, she's not from a poor family. You cannot say no much younger man has come for her hand in marriage before she accepted FFK's offer. |
2mch:This isn't the first time a well-to-do man has married a much younger lady. Larry Ellison of Oracle married a very young woman not long ago. |
Does it mean she couldn't find or there are no Igbo men who are financially stable between the ages of 30 - 37 who could have married her? And even if it's a non-Igbo man, why someone who loathes the Igbo ethnic group, especially its men? Well, I'm not too surprised as most Igbos, male and female, love money so dearly. Crude capitalism at its finest! |
No data to further prove the claim. Just a mere AI writeup. Seun should stop this. This is not how a forum ought to be. It should be organic, not scripted. |
One major reason why HIV is spreading faster than before is the lure or act of anal sex. Anal sex has a higher rate of HIV infections, and with the gradual acceptance of Ndi eligibility, it means the spread rate would balloon, considering these LGTV folks also do straight people. Men are less likely to contract HIV compared to women, but when these men engage in anal sex, the risks swell. |
emmykk:You would have to preach this harder to married men, as they are the biggest patrons of single ladies. Also, preach to married women who weaponise sex towards their husbands. Recent social media posts have revealed that married couples don't even have enough sex as peddled. Unfortunate as it is, marriage does not guarantee frequent sex. |
MeekGram7:So, how do young financially stable men cope with living in Owerri? I have always had misgivings regarding Imo. Remove the women from that state, and there is no difference between Imo and Somalia. |
Nfest:I see why. All PhDs are sponsored. In fact, it does not make sense paying full tuition for PhD anywhere outside Nigeria. He said he had to struggle to pay, then later got a scholarshipObviously, he would struggle as private universities are very expensive. When I was searching for schools, I had two private universities - Keio University (the equivalent of Covenant University) and Kwansei Gakuin University. The former is way too expensive, while the latter offered me a scholarship only after passing the exam (to be physically written in Japan). Ask the professor and the admissions team if there are scholarships that admitted students can apply for before entering the country. Again, log in to StudyinJapan website to search for scholarships, especially those with application deadlines within two months of resumption. See, this is Japan - you have to do everything by yourself and follow up. The school might show you scholarships, but you have to do the follow-up and applying, not them spoon-feeding you. It is your duty to apply for scholarships even if they are posted on a billboard. You have to meet the deadlines. You have to work things out, and quickly. |
ednut1:But I read that the boy's father paid for the initial police investigation, which led to their arrest. Would he allow this slide when justice can be obtained? If the tale of swap is true, then it is very unfortunate. This is a classic case of "Nigeria has happened to someone". |
Nfest:No, because you are restricted to 28 hours per week. The jobs that could pay higher (salaries are usually lower outside Tokyo) would require an intermediate to somewhat higher level of Japanese. Warehouse jobs could earn you Y200K per month, but this is if you max your work hours and also work during holidays (no hourly limit). In summary, you cannot entirely rely on part-time jobs to fund your education. Seek scholarships and tuition waivers/deductions. This is the same mistake those in the UK made, an English speaking country with a strong Nigerian/Black presence, have issues. Here is Japan. Wait o, I checked the conversion of N8.5m to yen and it is almost a million yen? What does this your friend or neighbour do for a living in Japan as a student or while as a student? How were the expenses settled? |
There is nothing wrong with returning to Nigeria. Just that it should be a planned return. Hopefully, they have learned, unlearned and relearned many things. Hopefully, with their new knowledge, they do their best to effect changes wherever they can. It makes no sense to live abroad and then return home to behave worse than when the person left. I hope dem no sell their proparti o. The rents I see online are frightening |
pansophist:This is especially true if the said house is in a major economic area. I see no reason young people should spend money to rent in the same city their parents live provided the family house is big enough to accommodate the children or the parents have more than one house. Rent-free in Nigeria spoiled me so much that it took time to gradually change my mindset here after graduation. My first time paying rent. |
Nfest:Part time jobs in a city like Kobe isn't the issue, but why are you applying to a private university? Here, mostly children from middle class to upper middle class families do so. So, why would an African with less funds apply to a private university in Japan? I know from a distance two lasses at the same institute, one from Nigeria, and the other from Benin Republic, but both are on Japanese government scholarships. Unless you come from a well-to-do family, it makes no sense whatsoever to apply to private universities in Japan. Also, except for a few, private universities are not highly ranked and have fewer scholarships for international students from Africa. Anyway, should you get admitted, log on to studyinjapan website to thoroughly search for scholarships. In fact, commence it the moment you get the admission before coming here. You would need money to live in any country, especially a distant country which is the first time you are inside. |
guobe:The naira is perfectly where it's. Nigeria doesn't need a strong naira. I don't get our fascination with it. Tinubu seems to be doing a good job with the economy, but his crude tribalism, support for the removal of Jonathan and no solutions to Fulani herdsmen activities are my issues with him. |
Lezzlie:🤣🤣🤣🤣 But you have to factor in the poverty level and the droves of extended relatives who need financial assistance. When we say people should have fewer children, e get why. |
