I pray will of the almighty GOD be done in Nigeria come 2023.
Although, in my own opinion, if the not is having such a plan and they want to press others to accept it. Take it from me, Nigeria will divide or go I no regional or state government. There are more credible people in the south. E.g The president of AFDB (maybe I am wrong), Oby ezekwensili, that young Yoruba journalist that was released from jail recently and few more that I do not know.

greenalwaz, I think you are making a lot of sense o. It's just that you were not fair about the case of intercontinental bank and Oceania bank. I am from Delta state but a very direct and straightforward person. Based on the little I know, Akingbola and Mrs Ibru must have been very corrupt. If they were not, there are a lot of international and national agency they would have used to fight to get their banks back. Don't forget that these owner are very rich and wealthy people too ( how be it, from corrupt practices I guess). So think these owner's hands were soiled already and it was easy to nail them. Now, please reply me this question. As a person, be objective. How do you see that Sheik Gumi, what is your take on him? I am asking you because I believe you just pen down some intelligent things up there apart from the oceanic and intercontinental bank (where I was a share holder).
RomanceRe: Why Is It That Men Of These Days Are So Interested In Knowing Whether A Gal by Getsaved(m): 4:54pm On Jan 28, 2020
Lavylilly, there are some sincere men that actually asked this question but not to discriminate girls that did not get adequate education. But to be able to know or guess how old they are. You know females changes a lot from their outwad appearance - if you know what I mean. Most times you see females of 16 or 18 dress, and their physical appearance may look early or late twenties. So, some men use this question to guess their age to know if they are within the age of marriage. Because it would be awkward to just ask a lady her age almost immediately. So, knowing her level of school can give the guy a close guess.

I had to log in to nl because of you today - for seeking to know how to do things in truth. Let me help if I were in your shoes.
I will Seek for permission from my company for an engagement that I need to attend. When they ask for details. plead with them that it is more of a private and personal issue. You can also meet someone in your company that you tell this same thing so that he/she would be able to influence the person in charge (management) to permit you. Do not not tell them the direct thing that wants to engage you. There are many indirect way of saying something without telling a lie. Please note, if you are the type that has always been taking permission before for things that are not too serious, this may not work for you. But if you rarely take permission from work, then they will see reason with you. Do it wisely, politely, prayerfully and honourable. You will see they will grant you your request. Shallom!
BusinessRe: Chevron To Leave Nigeria To Focus On Shale Back Home by Getsaved(m): 7:58am On Oct 30, 2019
alwaysvik:
Yenyenyenyen truly educated my ass. Please say what you know.

NNPC has a 60/40 sharing formula with every single oil company operating in Nigeria. It's called a JV for that reason. So for every dollar Chevron makes, NNPC takes 60 cents our of it. The real question is: what happens to that 60 cents? Can Nigeria account for that money? How many jobs are realistically given on merit at NNPC? what is the state of the refineries operated by NNPC? Has NNPC developed enough to independently manage and operate the oil fields? These are begging questions.

Chevron has a merit-based recruitment procedure for the most part (even though man know man still operates in small pockets). Chevron is accountable, at least to the US government and their shareholders. One of the best-managed businesses is about to leave the country, leaving a large trail of stranded employees, with no national company big enough to take them in and someone is typing rubbish from their ass about Nigeria benefiting.

Here's what might happen - Chevron will sell offshore and onshore assets to the highest bidder. I won't be surprised if NNPC buys some of it and then mismanages it like all other national assets. Or even sell it to another single highest bidder like Otedola or Dangote the same way theý broke NEPA into 11 DISCOS and one person bought 7 of them.

Nigeria is in trouble, the signs aren't good.
I read all the comments I must say I like what you said. You know, I am from the ND, Delta state precisely. When foreign companies left during the Warri crisis, we (especially those in the Warri metropolis) know the bad effect today. Chevron happens to be one of the best managed oil companies - in terms of organisation, remuneration, community balance e.t.c. They don't cause confusion like SPDC that knocks community leaders head together for their own benefit. If Chevron is leaving because of going for renewable energy as They said, that is okay for them but not us as a country. But if the government is trying to frustrate them so that it will hand over the company to the likes of saudi Aramco or Russian companies with ulterior motive, then it is worse. We have good companies in Nigeria that are very much like chevron, although they are not multinational yet thy are very discipline and organised by good people. I pray this does not lead to us to what happened to Warri and Sapele - when foereign companies left them. And most importantly, this act by chevron is not compelled by any religious undertone from the government of todày.
Shalom!

RomanceRe: Ladies Please Who Did This To Us by Getsaved(m): 7:41pm On Jan 26, 2019
Omoge87:
Dear OP.

I don’t really understand this philosophy myself. I am a Nigerian lady. I currently work, I bought and drive my own car. Have almost completed my MSc which I paid for myself. My point being as a Nigerian lady I have never cared about what material thing a guy has. What girls think a guy can provide for them- they can actually provide for themselves if they work hard.

I have only been in two relationships in my life - but in those relationships I never cared about anything material. I cared about their long term vision and goals etc... I remember my first ex didn’t drive. I am the one that would drop him home after church etc.. When they had a need I would help. When I had need they would offer to help and I would politely decline - if it was monetary - simply cos I don’t want any guy to be saying he did xyz for me. Also I noticed Nigerian men associate helping their girlfriends with sex - so far as they are gifting you and giving you money they expect sex in return and as I am not a prostitute - I decline such things. I would rather ask my parents if I had any monetary needs. I don’t believe boyfriend should become your driver or your bank when courtship and vice versa. When you are husband and wife - then yes I can accept financial assistance from my husband - but not boyfriend. Why should a boyfriend be paying my fees or rent? I just don’t understand it at all. A girl should learn to be self - sufficient - when she has her own she won’t care if a guy has BMW or plenty money. She will rather want someone who is compatible with her vision and life long goals.

Bottom line my philosophy is if a girl works hard she won’t have to rely on a man for anything- she will not care if he has a car or money as her first port of call. She will be interested in - does he have a Job, is he a Christian, family background etc... because she wants someone likeminded and compatible with her also.

I think it is laziness that makes some girls want to live off a man. I just don’t understand it at all. My brain cannot comphrend the thought. There is nothing like having your own independence as a woman. I am not a feminist oooo. I just believe in hard work so you don’t have to rely on anyone or beg anyone for anything in this life.

On this same forum there was a post that asked would you rather a rich husband that cheats but provides or a poor husband that is faithful but can’t provide. I just shook my head. Why can’t one just have a hardworking husband and a hard working wife who are both faithful and provide for each other’s needs ?
***Claps**** THIS is one of the best and matured comments I have read from a female on this forum. Although , *Omoge87* just joined nairaland recently or maybe
She just changed monica. If this reasoning is genuinely true of you, I duff my hat to you.
Christianity EtcRe: Share Your Experiences, Steps And Tools For Attaining Holiness by Getsaved(m): 1:54pm On Dec 16, 2018
Phosphorus666:
Well, I cannot absolutely say that I have conquered it all, but I can assure you that I've, at least, gained victory in certain insurmountable quarters of worldly desires and I thank Jesus Christ who has constantly enabled me with his grace. However, I've learnt a lesson along the way in my pursuit of God's righteousness and holiness: unless your desire for holiness is as strong as a burning coal, you cannot achieve righteousness. I can remember how strong I yearned to be pure like Jesus, not just because I'm a Christian, but because I realized that that is the only way I could live a life of absolute quality. It wasn't easy going, and every now and then I prayed to Jesus for grace to help me achieve my desire. I wasn't really into fornication, but my sex urge for alarmingly crazy. I lusted for women in my enclosures, and I could strip any woman naked with my wild imaginations. I believed I wasn't normal. Yes, I believed I was sick and negatively crazy, and I did so many things I detested in secret. I prayed, I failed; I prayed, I failed again, and I asked God why. I cried every time because I couldn't help myself and God's help wasn't coming forth. Sometimes when I failed, I inflicted myself with knife injuries; countless times it was that way. But all I did not realize was that God was knowingly letting me pass through the fire of experience. One time He spoke to me, "The best of men are mould out of faults. So don't stop fighting, I'm watching you." I continued undauntedly. Today, I've overcome the lust of the flesh. Although their are still many grounds to cover for Jesus, I am happy for coming this far through his drops of grace.

More so, I will encourage everyone out there who is going through this challenge to also summon the courage of speaking out. Talk to a trusted friend about what you're going through. Sometimes we can find help in odd places. I began experiencing tremendous spiritual growth when I met my fiancée. Although she was raised in a Christian home, she is not the usual God-oriented stereotype. As modest as she is in the things of God, she will compel you to be the best human possible in character and personality. I had to come open to her and let her know my faults, and gradually I was lifted by her constant counsels. My mom was also there for me and my aunty, Martina. God just used these persons to administer extra dose to my soul.
For me, this is the best post I have read on NL especially your comment phosphorous. May God grant as many that desire to be holy and pure like our LORD Jesus the grace in Jesus name.
CareerRe: Help! I'm In A Career Cross Road And Dilemma by Getsaved(m): 6:27pm On Aug 18, 2018
Alright. I had a similar situation like you. I studied a research based course. Although, I do not like teaching. I am more of a creative, good with any practical based stuffs, like giving solution to problems e.t.c. but I discovered there are very few Research and Development (R&grin) companies in Nigeria. I was doing personal home lesson at a time when a new job different from my field came. I went for it and Ifrom there now I am starting a new field from here.

From what you said now (if it is true). Then it shows the job you are now is not related to what you studied in school - that is why you have to run errands and do those menial jobs there, even though the money is coming.

I cannot type everything I really would have told you here. But I will give you a brief advice.

ADVICE

Work there for sometime as you deem fit. Gather enough money and go study abroad. Since the opportunity is there for you to study (unlike me), go and study. Let your passion be your profession. sometimes, Everything is not about money bro. Besides, there are lots of R & D companies in the USA than any country.
I hope this helps.
FamilyRe: "My Wife Wants To Bring Her 7-Year-Old Girl She Had Before We Met To My Home" by Getsaved(m): 10:22am On Aug 06, 2018
reyscrub:
Since your wife is hard working and is capable of taking care of the boy, nothing bad if her baby is with her ok. Blood is ticker than water so she can't let her product be far from her as you will never allow your child be taking away from you. Any body can fall prey to the love bait of boys and girls this day.

If you mistakenly have a child outside, you will think of bring him home and either appeal or force your wife to live with your boy abi.

I'm talking from experience because I married my wife with 6 years old boy and now I have a girl and a boy now they are three altogether and we live together. I ensure that all the three bear my surname and my wife agree and till this moment I claim him as my firstborn of my family and all the children see them self as the same father the same mother unknowingly.

So nothing is special or bad in married-after-one parent as a wife if she makes you happy and support you financially, spiritually, emotionally and prayerfully. My wife loves me like she can die for me nothing thinking twice on my cause because I ensure that all that consigns her is taking care off always.

Allow peace to rain in your home and don't allow people to confuse you with their local knowledge.

Take the boy home and make your wife happy ok.
Great advise you have up there form the OP. Great indeed. This is one of the few cases I have seen in NL where a really confused friend is given and helped with gracious advise. Good bless you all who gave mature advise.
