Dude, all parties that are signatory to the UN Convention Against Torture And Other Cruel, Inhuman Or Degrading Treatment Or Punishment have to abide by its articles! Said convention has laid down procedures that all signatories are guided by in the rendition of suspects from one jurisdiction to another. Last i checked, your Nigeria is a signatory to this convention. If it has opted out, you're free to show proof here!

Just last year, Nigeria entered into extradition talks with Kenya to bring the escaped Binance Executive to Nigeria for trial! Why didn't Nigeria just go and kidnap the mofo, trick or even 'disappear him' as you say they're free to do with Mazi Kanu? Nigeria is the lawless country it is because of uncivilised thugs who are in politics and governance and who purport to support the rule of law but act to the contrary!

Both countries are signatories to the UN Convention, hence the rights of all suspects that are the subject of rendition talks HAVE TO BE RESPECTED! Now can you refer us to reports of the time that spoke of similar talks being held between Kenya and Nigeria regarding Mazi Kanus' renditioning back to Nigeria?

This man is sounding as though the constitution is totally against legislators defecting. No, it isn't.
However, there are criteria to be met for defection to be acceptable by law.


With that said, the 27 Rivers legislators are for whatever reason claiming they didn't defect. That case is in court and hasn't been determined yet.
So until the court passes a judgment contrary to their claim, they are still valid members of the House of Assembly.
