Family / Letter To Married African Men And Women By Temi Badmus by gimmehear(f): 6:25pm On Nov 24, 2018
Letters to married African men and women.

Many marriages are just for sleeping and waking up, raising kids and ageing together till death comes. This is not right. Marriage must be enjoyable and romantic.

1.Many couples hardly kiss and they only hug each other when they receive good news.

2. The husband only puts food in his wife’s mouth only when she is terminally ill and cant feed herself.

3. If you see a man opening car door for his wife means the door is faulty.

4. The only thing that makes an african man touch his wife’s neck is when she complains of fever. He wont touch it again till the next fever.

5.The only time he can carry his wife on his arms is when she is in labour.

6. If you see them seated outside at night, don’t think they are romantic. They are only waiting for the smell of insecticide to vanish.

7.Many wives buy gifts for their husbands only when they are hospitalized.

8.The only time they race together is when there is danger and everyone is running.

9.The only time they go for evening stroll is when they want to go and lay a complain to the parents of the person that beat their child or got their daughter pregnant.

10. The only time they bath together is when both are late for work.

11. The only time a wife looks closely to her husband’s eyes is when he complains of dirt in his eyes.

Unfortunately, Africans feel that any romantic man is being controlled by his wife. They will begin to spread bad rumours. Let us just change today for the better. Let us learn to love one another and enjoy the few days we have on earth together!

This goes to all lovers, married Men and women.

A man in love, who expresses his feelings will bound more, live long and achieve more in lesser time, science has proven this.

Let love lead.

Romance / Prof. Musa Yakubu: You Need Early Morning Sex For 20 Minutes Daily by gimmehear(f): 11:26am On Nov 23, 2018
Advantages of EARLY MORNING SEX as presented at the 163rd Inaugural Lecture of University of Ilorin

Prof. Musa Yakubu of University of Ilorin has said that having sex in the early morning lowers blood pressure and reduces risks of heart attack. Yakubu of the Department of Biochemistry made the assertion in a paper, “Knocking Down the Barriers to Four O’Clock Activities and Reproductive Inadequacies”, presented at the 163rd Inaugural lecture of the university on Friday.

He said that having sexual intercourse, three to four times a week, was good for love life. “Research has shown that sex boosts immune system by stimulating the body’s first line of defence and production of immunoglobulin A (IgA), against cold and fever,” he said. immunoglobulin A is one of the most common antibodies in the body system.

Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system to fight bacteria, viruses, and toxins. Yakubu said that sex also regulates menstruation in women by influencing the levels of lutenizing hormones that controls menstrual period and promote better sleep. According to him, the act of sexual intercourse also release the feel-good chemical, known as oxytocin, which enhances closeness with one’s partner and makes people feel happier for a longer period of time.

“Lovemaking of about 20 minutes reduces 150 calories,” he said. The professor of Biochemistry postulated that sex is the most powerful creative force given to human by God for pleasure and deep companionship.

Yakubu, however, noted that any marriage in which the man or woman could not enjoy sexual intercourse or satisfy their partner in bed was a dead marriage. He said that lack of sexual satisfaction had led to the collapse of many marriages in Nigeria, and urged couples to seek for solutions to the problem. “Sexual and reproductive dysfunctions are common among men and women in Nigeria, which necessitates regular screening and check-ups,” he said. He also said that traditional medicines had been authenticated to cure sexual dysfunctions

EFCC SEALS AYODELE FAYOSE’S PROPERTY IN ADO EKITI
Posted on November 22, 2018 AuthorTemi Badmus Comment(0)
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Thursday, sealed the properties of the immediate past governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose. Ado Ekiti

Fayose was arraigned by the anti-graft agency at the Federal High Court, Lagos, on October 22 on 11 counts over alleged N6.9 billion fraud.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court granted him bail in the sum of N50 million with one surety in like sum.

The former governor, while reacting to EFCC’s action, accused the the anti-graft agency of “sealing innocent people’s house.”

“It is only in our country that an anti corruption agency will first go about sealing houses before determining the ownership, which can be done so easily by visiting relevant agencies,” Fayose said.

He also alleged that the anti-graft agency is working with the ruling All Progressives Congress government in Ekiti in another “wild goose chase and the usual media campaign” against him.

Politics / Uche Nwosu: Apc Is Too Small To Stop Me From My Dreams by gimmehear(f): 2:57am On Nov 21, 2018
Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State governor and a contender to the state governorship ticket under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has said that no amount of threat from the National Working Committee of APC will sway him to abandon his legitimate rights to pursue a genuine cause.

Nwosu’s position followed the threat handed to aggrieved members of the APC to withdraw their Court actions or face sanctions.

The APC NWC had threatened to invoke sanctions on all members of the party who took the party to Court over the fall out of the just concluded primaries, unless they withdraw the suits.

Nwosu, who is in court over the party’s governorship ticket in Imo State, described the threat by the National Working Committee of the party as an act of arm twisting and unacceptable.

But Nwosu who is acclaimed to have won the October 6 APC rerun governorship primary in Imo State, insisted that the threat of sanction will not stop him from pursuing his case to a logical conclusion and reclaiming his mandate.

While expressing dismay over the position of the party, Nwosu said He stated that before approaching the Court over his stolen mandate as the authentic APC governorship candidate in Imo state, he had first of all made concerted efforts to have the leadership of the party resolve the crisis using internal mechanism to no avail.

Politics / Muhammad Buhari Starts Campaign For 2019 Election by gimmehear(f): 1:52pm On Nov 19, 2018
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday put the fight against corruption at the heart of his bid for another four-year term, as official campaigning got under way for elections next year.

Voters go to the polls on February 16, four years after Buhari’s landmark victory which saw him become the first opposition candidate in Nigerian history to defeat a sitting president.

The 75-year-old former military ruler goes into the vote with the power of incumbency but facing a groundswell of opposition to his record in office since 2015.

At a campaign launch in the capital Abuja on Sunday he maintained he had delivered on his promises to improve security, the economy and tackle corruption.

But he accepted there was still work to do so everyone can benefit, not just the few, adding: “Our choices will shape us, our economic security and our future prosperity.

“Nigeria, more than ever before, needs a stable and people-focused government to move the agenda for our country forward.”

‘Existential threat’

Soon after coming into office, Buhari pledged to recover what he said were “mind-boggling” sums of public money stolen during previous administrations.

His anti-corruption campaign, however, has yet to secure any high-profile convictions while his opponents accuse him of mounting a political witch-hunt.

On Sunday, he said graft remained “an existential threat” and that despite some gains, “there is still much ground to cover to stop systemic corruption”.

“We are committed to deepening the work we started this first term such that the nation’s assets and resources continue to be organised and utilised to do good for the common man.”

Buhari also put job creation, diversifying the economy away from a dependence on oil, and education as central planks of his campaign.

All three are seen as important as some 60 percent of Nigeria’s more than 180 million people are aged under 30, and the country is expected to become the world’s third most populous by 2050.

Two-horse race

Nigerian electoral law provides for 90 days’ campaigning and Buhari is one of 78 candidates from 91 registered political parties contesting for the country’s top job.

However the campaign is expected to be a two-horse race between Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abubakar, a former vice-president under president Olusegun Obasanjo, is seen as having momentum, as disaffection with Buhari has grown within the APC in recent months.

Buhari’s response to an escalation of violence in the long-running resource conflict between farmers and herders in central states has been perceived as lukewarm.

His political opponents – even within the APC – have accused him of using the security and anti-corruption agencies to target them, leading to a wave of defections.

Violence warning

Nigerian elections since the country returned to civilian rule in 1999 after decades of military control have been characterised by deadly political violence.

The 2015 election was notable for being largely peaceful, despite threats of attacks from Boko Haram in the northeast.

Security concerns, from the resurgent farmers-herders conflict to Boko Haram and bubbling unrest in the oil-rich south, along with political tensions are stoking fears this time round.

Buhari urged all candidates and their supporters “to go about their campaigns peacefully and decently”.

“We have no other country, let us not set it ablaze because of politics,” he added.

Twenty-four countries and the European Union meanwhile called for “free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections” as campaigning began.

“We urge all involved – political and non-political actors – to refrain from using hate speech and take a firm stance against violence,” they said in a joint letter.

The signatories, including the United States, Britain, France and Germany, said they were “gravely concerned” about vote-buying, intimidation and interference in recent state governorship elections and party primaries.

Politics / Federal Government To Start Demolition Of Places, Houses In Apapa by gimmehear(f): 1:19am On Nov 17, 2018
In line with the determination of the Federal Government to connect the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge line to Apapa Port in Lagos, many terminals in the port are expected to be partly demolished, Daily Trust learnt on Friday.

This is just as the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi confirmed that he would soon make a request to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for the expected contract overrun.

The project being undertaken by the China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) was awarded at a sum of $1.5bn to cover Lagos to Ibadan with extension to Apapa Port.

But many unforseen challenges have cropped up especially on the Lagos axis which have made the cost overrun inevitable among them is the relocation of oil and gas pipeline.

Also, the Apapa Port rail sidings which would connect the standard gauge to all the port terminals were estimated at 2.4 kilometers in the original contract but it has been discovered that the length of the sidings is now at about 6.4km.

Amaechi yesterday held an emergency Project Steering Committee meeting at the CCECC yard inside the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) headquarters with the NRC Managing Director, Engr. Fidet Okhiria, his counterpart in the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, among other stakeholders in attendance.

After the meeting which lasted about one hour, the team paid an inspection visit to Apapa Port terminals to ascertain areas which might give way for the seamless connection of the rail line to all the terminals.

Some of the terminals to be affected are APMT, the largest terminal in the port; ENL Consortium Terminal, among others.

Amaechi who spoke with newsmen at the port said he had given two weeks to the technical team to determine parts of the warehouses within the terminals which would give way for the rail to come in.

He assured that this would be done in such away that the port operations would not be disrupted.

“The port services would be on. There are areas where they need to work. What is important is that we must get the rail into the port to ease the congestion that we are having currently. We give them two weeks to do their work”, he said.

Also speaking the NPA MD explained that there are areas where government would take over “for overriding public interest.”

However, she assured that necessary compensation would be paid to terminal operators whose warehouses would be partly demolished.

Usman reiterated that the necessary rehabilitation would be carried out at the key sides where ships usually berth to increase their weight and capacity to accommodate the standard gauge rail.

She said, “We are going to have another meeting in a fortnight where we will determine the increase in scope that the project will have in view of this visit because this visit has expanded the scope to ensure that for example we are going to cover GNLD terminal, we are going to look at expanding to Eko Support, we are also going to look at providing direct key side and siding for PTML, that’s Flour Mill.

“All these aspects need to be computed and the number to be presented to the Hon. Minister and in turn he would make the necessary request for approval to the Federal Government.”

Politics / President Buhari; My Vision For Nigeria Will Not Be Aborted by gimmehear(f): 1:10am On Nov 17, 2018
Daily News
MUHAMMED BUHARI; MY VISION FOR NIGERIA CAN’T BE ABORTED
Posted on November 17, 2018 AuthorTemi Badmus Comment(0)
President Muhammadu Buhari, Friday, stated that his vision and objectives for Nigeria are very clear and he is on course to achieving them.

Speaking when he received members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by its President, Reverend (Dr,) Samson Ayokunle in State House, Abuja, President Buhari said he is doing his best to fulfil his electoral promises of securing the country, fighting corruption and resuscitating the economy.

President Buhari said that fighting corruption takes longer time especially with the need to adhere to the rule of law.

“It is on record that some cases initiated by the anti-graft bodies since 2003 are yet to be concluded. We will, however, not be discouraged.

“Where monies have been recovered, such monies will not find their way back to the looters as I have directed EFCC to account for every money it has recovered and put them in a dedicated account,” President Buhari said.

Responding to the request of CAN for an overhaul of the intelligence gathering system , President Buhari said the burden of intelligence gathering involves everyone especially district heads, traditional rulers, opinion leaders and especially religious leaders that are very close to the grassroots.

He added that bandits who are operating in various communities live among the people and enjoined leaders of thought in various communities to avail security agencies of information about the criminals.
President Buhari

President Buhari also told the visitors that he had assurances from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that the 2019 elections will be free and fair as he has been victim of fraudulent elections and beneficiary of free and fair election in the past.

“When I decided to put on this Agbada to see what the people are seeing in it, I tried three times, 2003, 2007 and 2011, but the fourth time, in 2015, I succeeded.

“We thank God and technology in the form of permanent voters card and card reader, because what they used to do was to look at constituencies, award the votes and then they will say whoever didn’t agree should go to court.

“When people are looking for what to eat, where do they have the money to go to court to pay the SANs?” President Buhari said.

On farmers and herders clashes, President Buhari told the visitors that government was working towards finding a lasting solution to it.

The CAN delegation had lauded the President for his efforts in fighting corruption, the initiatives to stem the tide of unemployment, the various efforts aimed at revamping the economy, the fight against Boko Haram terrorists and the implementation of the Bank Verification Number and the Treasury Single Account.

They, however, called on the President, to, ensure that the security agencies are non-partisan as we head to 2019 elections; restore peace to troubled spots in Northern parts of the country especially in the Garshish District of Plateau State, and institute a judicial panel of enquiry to look into the killings in the North Central particularly the murder of Major General Idris Alkali (rtd) and the Royal Highness of the Adara Kingdom in Kaduna, Dr Maiwada Raphael Galadima.

They also called on the President to; ensure that Nigeria does not go back into recession; urgently resolve the issue of minimum wage and to task the security agencies to ensure the release of Miss Leah Sharibu and other Chibok girls still in captivity.

Politics / U. S To Support Africa With 7,200 Military Men For National Defence by gimmehear(f): 12:43am On Nov 17, 2018
U.S to support Africa with 7,200 military men.

The U.S. Department of Defence has announced the realignment of Counter-Violent Extremist Organisation (C-VEO) personnel operating in U.S. Africa Command to support priorities outlined in the National Defence Strategy.

Pentagon said that it would optimise its 7,200 military forces serving across Africa and did not plan to embark on any significant reduction of the personnel.

It added that “the realignment projects a reduction of less than 10 per cent of the 7,200 military forces serving in Africa Command in the next several years.

“Optimisation preserves the majority of U.S. security cooperation partnerships and programmes in Africa to strengthen partner networks, enhance partner capability and support ongoing programmes.”

It said C-VEO activities in several areas, including Somalia, Djibouti and Libya largely remained the same
In other regions, such as West Africa, Pentagon said, emphasis shifted from tactical assistance to advising, assisting, liaising and sharing of intelligence.

“Overall, optimisation efforts retain the flexibility to adjust, as required, to maintain a competitive posture in a dynamic, global environment,” Pentagon added.

Politics / Bukola Saraki Proposes Removing Adams Oshimole From Office by gimmehear(f): 4:30pm On Nov 14, 2018
The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has said that the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has no moral ground to remain in office over his alleged collection of kickbacks in dollars levelled against him by some members of his party during the last APC primaries in the country.

This coincides with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) saying that it will investigate Oshiomhole if it receives any petition against him.

Saraki made this disclosure in Ilorin Wednesday while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the sixth remembrance prayer for his late father, Dr Olusola Saraki, held at his country home.

He said: “Oshiomhole has no locus standi to talk about morality in today’s Nigeria’s politics. That must be a joke coming from Oshiomhole talking about moral ground. I think Oshiomhole has no locus standi to talk about morality today. Oshiomhole is somebody who has been told to have been collecting not even naira but dollars from candidates and he is being accused by his party’s aspirants and governors.

“I don’t think he has any moral ground, even to continue to be in politics not to talk about being a chairman of a party. I remember in those days even Oyegun, they never accused him of something like this. I have left that party. I’m sure the president, based on integrity, knows the right thing to do. So, on moral ground, he cannot speak on moral ground.”

Speaking on Saturday’s by-election in Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin federal constituency, Saraki decried huge deployment of policemen and sudden change of divisional heads of police in four local government areas for the by-election.

He said: “You see, the mistake we sometimes make, we forget that Nigeria is a big nation in this global world, not only in the context of Africa. We provide leadership. An action that we take that tries to suggest that we are not civilised with the rule of law and processes, doesn’t augur well with the image.

“Today, the president is the President of ECOWAS, likewise the Chairman of INEC is chairman of electoral bodies in ECOWAS, even show that we are a responsible country.”

Saraki added: “So, when the Inspector General of Police (IG) begins to do things like this without following due process, it is not good for our country. And that is what we always stand for. And all those who supposed to caution him should ensure that due process is followed in things like this.

“We have been doing by-election here, I have never seen where the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) are being transferred. We have been doing by-elections here, I have never seen where 200 or 300 security personnel are being deployed. It is not about Kwara, it is about the country. It is about how the world sees us.”

Meanwhile, the ICPC has said that it will investigate Oshiomhole if it receives any petition against him.

The anti-graft agency said that it has a laid down procedure for handling allegations of corruption, part of which is that there must be a formal petition duly signed and submitted to it.

Addressing a group of protesters, who besieged the ICPC headquarters in Abuja Wednesday, the spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, said that the commission will check its records to see if there was any petition submitted against Oshiomhole by Wednesday as claimed by the protesting group.

She said that if the group’s claim about the petition is found to be true, it will be treated the same manner it handled others.

“I have heard you and we thank you people for the peaceful protest here. You have done what you are supposed to do. I want to assure you that your petition will be treated according to its merit and the same manner we treat others,” she assured.

The protesters, numbering hundreds Wednesday stormed the ICPC headquarters to demand the immediate prosecution of the APC National Chairman Oshiomhole.

The protesters, under the auspices of Coalition for New Nigeria (CNN), had arrived the ICPC office with posters bearing various inscriptions like ‘Oshiomhole is corrupt’, ‘Oshiomhole must go’, ‘with Oshiomhole, APC will fail’, ‘ICPC must probe Oshiomhole’, and ‘Buhari, remove Oshiomhole now before it is too late’, among other.

The convener of the group, Stanley Ohu, pleaded with the anti-corruption agency to expedite action in the prosecution of the ruling party boss.

“We demand that Oshiomhole resigns owing to the plethora of allegations against him leading to even the DSS inviting him and demanding for his resignation,” he said.

Speaking further, the convened said: “We are determined in our quest to arrest the danger faced by our party, the governing APC, occasioned by the integrity challenged National Chairman, Oshiomhole.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we are well aware that Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence criminal proceedings against Oshiomole for allegedly diverting state funds into personal use.

“Therefore, it is expedient that a man that has corruption noose round his neck is not fit and proper person to lead a party that has President Muhammadu Buhari, a man known globally for his anti-corruption stance, to remain in office.”

Ohu said that Oshiomhole should tread the path of honour to step down before APC goes into ignominy in 2019.

“As you are all aware, our party, the APC is in serious crisis following the most reprehensible, divisive and widely condemned primaries across the states. The APC, which was gaining grounds and welcoming new members, is far from the all-embracing party it was when Oshiomhole took over as national chairman.

“Given the various allegations of corruption by respected chieftains and members of the APC, we are here calling on the various anti-corruption agencies to begin a comprehensive probe of not only these allegations, but his time as the governor of Edo State.

“We assure you that this will not be the end of the Coalition for New Nigeria’s protest until Mr. Oshiomhole leaves the exalted office of the national chairman of the governing APC, the party of Change,” he said.

EFCC begins bribery investigation against Adams Oshimole

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will this week begin investigation into allegations of financial impropriety leveled against the embattled national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and his Chief of Staff, Abbas Braimoh.

Speaking at the weekend, a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the anti-graft agency will invite Oshiomhole for interrogation over the allegations as they constitute financial crime.

According to him, there were series of petitions forwarded to the anti-graft agency by some aggrieved stakeholders of the party following the outcome of the just concluded primaries where it was alleged that Oshiomhole allegedly collected bribes to award the party’s tickets to the highest bidder.

“From available information, I believe the EFCC is looking into the matter and the national chairman and his Chief of Staff may be invited this week. Aside the DSS, some aggrieved members also petitioned the EFCC, alleging that the recently concluded primaries were marred by bribery allegations.

“While many of the aspirants didn’t come out in the open, we have seen people like Osita Okechukwu, the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), who pointedly accused Oshiomhole of corruptly enriching himself through the primaries. He also urged the DSS and EFCC to immediately probe the call logs of Oshiomhole.

“So, I believe the EFCC will begin its probe this week. Those who wrote the petition will be made to present their facts while the national chairman will defend himself”, he said.

“What happens, thereafter, will determine the fate of the national chairman”, he noted.

On whether President Muhammadu Buhari will not intervene just as he was reported to have done when Oshiomhole was grilled by the DSS, another source in the presidency said while he was not aware of the EFCC case, the president will not intervene if indeed Oshiomhole is found guilty.

“I don’t think the president will shield him or prevent EFCC from doing its job. If you know, the president has always given the EFCC a free hand to investigate anyone no matter how highly placed. The president will not stop EFCC from doing its job.

“Remember, the general election is just few weeks away and one of the campaign promises is the fight against corruption. So, how can it be said that he is shielding the national chairman of his party from being investigated? If he does that, the opposition will latch on to that and it will not do his image or the party a lot of good.

“If the president decides to investigate the DSS saga, that is understandable based on reports that the DSS asked the national chairman to resign. It is not their responsibility to do that since he was elected by members of the party. If found guilty, the DSS should come out and say so and allow the party do the needful”, he said.

Efforts to reach the EFCC and Oshiomhole proved abortive as calls and text messages sent to their phones were not answered as at the time of going to press.

Oshiomhole, who had earlier addressed the media at the weekend, had denied collecting money from anybody to favour them at the primaries, saying if it has to do with money, the governors, who are making the allegations, are better placed to do such.

Also speaking on his invitation by the DSS, he stated that if it is about corruption issue, there won’t be need for intervention of the agency, but the EFCC.

“Let me tell you, I’ve heard some people talk about bribe and Imo State. I’ve looked round and I’m asking myself, who, in Imo State can afford to bribe me.

“Ordinarily, I should be protective of the person in power who should have the resources to dole out something. But I’m standing on principle, so that cannot happen and that did not happen. So, who is it in Imo that can induce me?”

He also denied reports that he met with National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in London over his interaction with the DSS.

Oshiomhole, who spoke to reporters in Benin City after attending the interdenominational service to mark Governor Godwin Obaseki’s second year in office, explained that there was no reason for him to go to London to see Tinubu when he could easily see him in Lagos.

The former Edo State governor said he has unhindered access to the Presidential Villa to see the leader of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, “What am I doing in London? Why should I go to London to see Tinubu when I can see him in Bourdillon?

“What are the issues between him and me that we are to resolve in London? The leader of the party which is President Buhari, I have access to the Villa all the time. I don’t need to go to London to see my leader through the Queen.

“The truth is that once a news reporter succeeds in preaching one lie, he is obliged to preach several lies to sustain the one lie. Some of the media having allowed opposition to misuse them to fake news they now feel obliged to faking more news but I am here and I am fine.”

Speaking about the grievances of some aspirants, Oshiomhole urged them to learn from President Buhari, who contested for the presidency three times without losing hope. He said there was no way he could make all the contestants win at the primaries.

Reacting to the issue, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenged Oshiomhole to come out clean on whether he actually collected money to favour some aspirants in his party or not instead of avoiding the issue when quizzed by journalists.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, in a chat said Oshiomhole should tell Nigerians whether he actually received bribes from APC aspirants or not.

“If you went through everything the national chairman of APC said about his invitation by DSS and his interactive session he deviated from the fact of the matter. What are the facts of the matter?

“The fact of the matter was that he was invited and investigated on issues bordering on malfeasance and corruption. During his interview with journalists, Oshiomhole tactically avoided the questions posed to him about corruption.

“The position of PDP is very clear. We believe that the DSS invited Oshiomhole particularly on issues bordering on corruption. He should address that corruption issue and tell the media the truth. Until he does that, everything he said is secondary. It is of no bearing and does not matter to the issue at stake.

“The issue at stake is: did he collect money from aspirants seeking the partly’s ticket or not and gave the ticket to the highest bidder? This is a clear case of corruption if true and if the EFCC has taken over the case, to us in the PDP, it is a welcome development”, he said.

Sports / Didier Drogba Retires From Playing Football by gimmehear(f): 10:04am On Nov 09, 2018
Africa Football and Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba’s illustrious career in professional football has finally come to an end at the age of 40.

The legendary Drogba has hung up his boots at the age of 40 following Phoenix Rising’s 1-0 defeat against Louisville City in the USL Cup final on Thursday night.

Drogba helped Phoenix reach the final by scoring three goals in three matches – including a magnificent free-kick in the team’s post-season opener – but, unfortunately, was unable to help his final club lift the trophy.

The 40-year-old who scored 10 goals in 14 games during his debut season in USA’s second tier before netting five goals in nine regular-season games this term, still bows out of football with an impressive collection of winners’ medals.

During his remarkable 20-year playing career, Didier won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, two Premier League Golden Boots and, of course, the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.

Away from Stamford Bridge, he also won the Turkish Super Lig, the Turkish Cup, Turkish football’s Player of the Year award, and two African Player of the Year awards.

Crime / Media Lady : How I Was Almost Stoned To Death In Kaduna by gimmehear(f): 5:01am On Nov 07, 2018
Temitope Mustapha, a news editor with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), has recounted how she was almost stoned to death during last month’s religious crisis in Kaduna State.

In a lengthy post shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday, the journalist narrated how she fell into coma under a hail of stones and other missiles from rampaging youth on October 21.

The communal violence started in Kasuwan Magani area of Kaduna State and claimed at least 55 lives.

Following the violence and threat to spread to Kaduna metropolis, the state government imposed a 24 hour curfew on both areas.

Mrs Mustapha said she was on her way to Kano for a media event when the vehicle she was traveling in was stopped by heavy traffic and attacked.

She said the young men who stopped them attacked only her because she was the only female in the vehicle.

She also noted that her dressing may have aggravated their anger, as she was not fully covered.

“Suddenly, a number of the young men sighted me in the car & my driver started pleading with them, telling them ”Da Allah ki ya kuri”, I was the only female in the car and extremely unusual of me I wore what you saw in the pictures above with an headtie (turban) that I had on me.

“The youngmen best described as Miscreants were more than fifteen, they started hitting the side of the car I was. I summoned courage opened the right side door which was already confronted by men holding all manner of irons and stones and started running,” Mrs Mustapha stated.

She said the men threw stones and metallic objects at her until she fell into a drainage and became unconscious.

She also said the men only left her there because they thought she was dead.

Mrs Mustapha said the men who stoned her traced her to the hospital where she was taken for treatment and demanded her release to them, insisting she must be killed.

“The miscreants traced me to the hospital & demanded that the lady brought in should be released by the hospital to be killed.

“This Muslim hospital saved me, hidded (sic) me away from them & I realised I was kept in a ward locked with a nurse who was given instructions not to open the ward to anyone she possibly didnt know the voice. Only the Hospital Manager, the doctor on duty & two nurses were given access to where I was,” she stated.

She was finally revived with the support of the hospital, colleagues, Nigeria Army, and the Kaduna government.

Mrs Mustapha thanked the management of the hospital, staff and management of VON, Kaduna State Government and everyone who stood by her.

Education / Unilorin Increases School Fee By 50% by gimmehear(f): 5:24pm On Nov 03, 2018
Unilorin Increases school fee by 50%
Few months ago the government made mention of how they will increase federal institutions fee, meanwhile everyone decided to stay against it and everything was left behind.

But the interesting started when the University of Ilorin started increasing their fee outrageously, first of all, those of their graduating students were the first target, when their convocation fee was raised to #21,800. All effort made was to no avail.

Then the real increment shows up after the convocation was over, school fees of returning students were increase by 50% in comparison to their last payment.
Check their evidence of payment of school from #24, 500 to increase to 28,000 and further higher prices.
Unilorin

The student writes.

We are the daughters and the sons of those you refuse to increase their minimum wages.
It’s no longer a news that recently the federal universities are now increasing their charges on everything. In my school, it all started from the increment of convocation charges which was increased 2 times the initial payment paid a year before. The minimum wages of our parent is not up to the amount it was increased to. The most recent one is the increment in our school fee charges. Although, we don’t know which is going to be the next to be increased but we want the federal government to know that our parents aren’t a politicians like them. They are barely a pepper seller, local shoe maker and some already lost their job a long time ago. We are their hope and the only future they wish to invest in. Please don’t cut short their dreams. I am writing this so that every other aspect of payment that you are planning to increase should be pended or scrapped. If we can’t enjoy a free education as a student attending a federal government schools unlike your children who aren’t in this country and who can never attend same school as ours, then help us the poor to actualize our dream by making all federal government schools a free of charge so that poor people can attend and keep attending. The universities VCs should equally see to this. We struggle all day long to eat, struggle to enter the school premises for lectures and struggle to leave the school back to our various hostel. The concern departments in charge of this sudden increment should look into it and help us reduce it to what it use to be before now or lesser than that.

13 YEAR GIRL DIED FROM SEXUAL ABUSE
Posted on October 25, 2018 AuthorTemi Badmus Comment(0)
13 year old died from sexual Abuse from 51 year old man

13 year old Ochanya who battled with Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) and other health complications at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi after being severely abused by a man and his son on both sides has finally, painfully passed unto the great beyond yesterday in a private hospital in otukpo. The sorrow in my heart is unquantifiable but we must submit to to the consequences of the evil of men.

The 51 year old alleged pervert who is the Head of Department, Catering and Hotel Management at the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Benue State, Mr. Andrew Ogboja and his rapist son, Victor Inalegwu Ogboja, a final year student of Animal Production at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi consistently molested little Ochanya since she was 9 to age 13, took turns every night on her.

Little Ochanya who has been living with this damned family as a result of family affinity after her mother died and her father remarried, became an object of sexual satisfaction for the randy lecturer and his son who would occasionally drug her before molesting her back and forth with threats of death if anyone got to know of it. She would take ill but it was difficult for the hospitals in Ugbokolo to detect exactly what was wrong. Occasionally, she would even collapse.

In February 2018, she again collapsed and this time, was bedridden for 2 months because she was terribly sick and couldn’t even resume school. In June, a caregiver who runs an Orphanage in Otukpo picked interest in her pitiable health status and decided to take her to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where it was revealed that she was being sexually abused on all sides and this had affected her badly causing uncontrollable defecation and passing of urine.

Ochanya after serious interrogation revealed how long the molestation had been taking place and how she was threatened against her life if anyone got to know of what was happening. She explained that she was forced with drugs which made her not to be very conscious of what happened. For the records, she is of a late mom and humble father who is resident far in the village and who does not have the means to pursue to logical conclusion, such adversity against their daughter.

The situation was reported at the Police Headquarters in Makurdi and the man was arrested and the case was charged to court while Ochanya continued to struggle for life in the hospital. At the court, the man was ordered to be remanded pending the next adjournment in September when the son too was to be arrested and charged and before then, the man was seeing walking freely on the streets. On the next adjournment, the lawyers to Ochanya couldn’t make it to court and the case was further adjourned to 4th November 2018.

Molested and sodomized Ochanya in her condition couldn’t recognize anyone and her eyes remained closed. Yesterday, she couldn’t battle further, she took her last breath. We pray for the peaceful repose of her soul.

I bring this story to the world for the sake of Justice against the spirit of a poor girl. Is Mr. Ogboja and his son Victor truly human? Do they deserve to be alive? Is he suppose to remain a lecturer? Is his son suppose to be an undergraduate? Where is our Justice system? What are the police doing to foster law and order? Look at the abhorable evil and it’s consequences.

Can this nincompoop of an idiot and his illiterate son of an undergraduate know peace? His generation is doomed for life. They will have to pay for their wrong. Friends and fellow humanitarians, let us rise up and fight this evil family to their end. These kind of people have no purpose in a God given life.

Politics / Imo Women And Youths Starts War Against Oshimole by gimmehear(f): 9:26am On Oct 23, 2018
Imo women and youths have accused the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, of being responsible for the botched primaries in the state.

The women and youths, who marched and barricaded the roads in the state yesterday, accused Oshiomhole of impunity and high handedness, and vowed that they will not fold their arms and watch the national chairman of the party destroy APC in the state.

The South East leader for Buhari Campaign Organisation, Ugochi Okoro, who spoke on behalf of the women, noted that most of the current members of the party left their former parties for the same reasons witnessed in APC today.

“Oshiomhole should go back to his cocoon; we will not allow him destroy APC. This is the party where our governor was called all manner of names, today, same people want to hijack the party and we say no.

“Oshiomole should leave the party for us, Okorocha is our leader and we still stand by our president for second term; Imo youths will not stop supporting Uche Nwosu and Buhari, likewise we the women.”

Earlier, the South East Secretary General for Buhari Campaign Organisation, Charles Amadi, called on President Buhari to call Oshiomhole to order and said the national chairman’s action is capable of destabilising the party.

Speaking shortly after the protest, the state chairman of APC, Daniel Nwafor, who said he tried to stop the protest, but was overpowered by angry youths and women, equally appealed to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to, as a matter of urgency, look into the demands of the protesters.

Nwafor gave the grievances of the protesters as substitution of four names of candidates, who won the election supervised by the Ibrahim Agbabiaka-led electoral committee with that of the dissolved Ahmed Gulak-led committee.

Politics / Deputy Senate President Dumps Pdp by gimmehear(f): 7:31am On Oct 23, 2018
Barring any last minute change, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, will dump Nigeria’s major opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was gathered that Ekweremadu has been involved in high-level negotiations with the top echelon of the APC, “because he was aggrieved about the way he has been treated since Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, defected to the PDP.

“What is, however, unclear is the position the APC will give him upon defection.

A source said Ekweremadu’s defection “is just in a matter of days.”

This will be another major defection after Saraki and former minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, defected from the APC and PDP, respectively.

It was also gathered that “Ekweremadu was not happy with the way he was used and dumped by the PDP.”

A chieftain of the APC from the South East had earlier said: “Look at the way they treated Ekweramadu. When all of them left, Ekweramadu remained to fight for the survival of this party. How many of them would have resisted the temptation not to defect in the face of the intimidation, harassment, prosecution and persecution meted out on him.’

“As a person, he had nothing to lose if he had defected then. In fact, he had everything to gain. He probably would have been the senate president because he was offered the slot. Then, when you people now return, you feel that people who had helped this party to survive, did not matter, again, simply because you got a presidential ticket. Also, even Saraki knows that if the DSP had not been loyal, they would have gotten at him (Saraki), long ago.

“All the trials Ekweramadu was put through were all because of Saraki. But, when it was the turn of Saraki to be there for him, he failed him and as we speak, how many days is this after the primary. Atiku is yet to call DSP. You don’t treat a man who has been taking bullets on you people’s behalf like that. Well, I wish them and PDP well, but, they should know that action begets reaction and they will pay the price for this mistreatment of people, who laboured for the party during the toughest time. And, if Ekweramadu leaves, we will hold these people responsible,” he stated.

Crime / Kaduna Killing: Casualties Were Rejected For Treatment by gimmehear(f): 3:01pm On Oct 22, 2018
Full update on Kaduna killing, Govt urges calm as state security council meets today.

A 24-hour curfew was imposed on Kaduna metropolis and environs yesterday following commotion in many parts of the state with many people feared killed and others wounded.

Daily Trust reports that suspicion over the fate of the paramount ruler of Adara, the Agom Adara, Mr. Maiwada Galadima, led to stampede, starting from Kasuwan Magani, where 55 people were killed three days ago.

Reports had filtered in that the Agom Adara, who was abducted with his wife Mrs. Victoria Galadima at Maikyali village along Kaduna-Kachia road, has been killed following the release of his wife yesterday.

The police had on Friday confirmed that the shooting to death of the police orderly of the traditional ruler and three others as well as the abduction of the royal father and his wife Mrs Victoria.

One of the leaders of the Adara youths said the abductors had called the daughter of the traditional ruler with his phone and asked her to come and take her mother at a spot near Rin village.

He said the lady then contacted leaders of the Adara who sent a car and picked Mrs. Galadima at the spot and brought her back to town.

“It was when the wife came back and people saw her alive but did not see the Agom Adara that tempers flared, suspecting that the traditional ruler had been killed. Some youths rushed into the streets and started blocking roads and searching vehicles.

“But the abductors later got in touch with the daughter and she spoke with her father and confirmed that he is still alive,” the source, who does not want to be named, told Daily Trust.

However, before the Agom could confirm he was still alive, the news had gone far that he had been killed.

Tension spread to communities along the road with motorists plying the route being targeted, and people started running in all directions creating stampede at Mararaban Rido, Sabon Tasha and other parts of the Kaduna metropolis.

There are reports that some traders were attacked at the Sabo market. Traders from other markets such as Kasuwar Barci, Abubakar Gumi Central Market, Kasuwar Unguwar Shanu, among others, attend the market every Sunday.

“People started running in all directions and nobody was sure what was happening,” said a trader at the market.

Many feared killed:

A source at St. Gerard’s Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna, who declined being named because of the sensitivity of the issue, said many victims were taken to the hospital, mostly from Sabo axis.

“Between 4 and 6pm yesterday, three military trucks and two Volkswagen Golf cars, and two tricycles brought corpses and injured persons,” the medical personnel said.

At around 6:30pm, the source added, the hospital staff were overwhelmed by the situation.

“The school management had to order all student nurses to be deployed to the Accident & Emergency unit of the hospital to cater for the victims,” the source added.

The source, who couldn’t give the exact number of corpses and injured ones brought to the hospital, said majority of the casualties had gunshot wounds, while others had machete cuts.

“By 7:30pm, the hospital management asked that the gates be closed. I saw many vehicles with victims being turned away at the gates. The bodies were deposited at the morgue while the injured ones are being treated,” the source said. Daily Trust reports that a journalist working with Nagarta Radio, Joy Odoh, was stabbed around Kawo on her way to work. She was taken to a hospital inside 1 Div Barrack where she is receiving treatment.

Irate youth took over streets:

Our correspondents report that as tension enveloped the metropolis, irate youths took over major streets in Narayi, Barnawa, Tudun Wada and parts of the city centre, some brandishing weapons and freely burning tyres and searching vehicles plying the roads.

Several vehicles were burnt around Jos road in the city centre.

A Daily Trust reporter observed in Kaduna metropolis around 5pm yesterday how policemen were seen escorting more than 100 people stranded between Leventis Roundabout and Katsina Road, all along Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna.

The people were apparently caught up in the melee at the busy Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi Market in Kaduna. They were trekking towards Junction Road, which is the major gateway to the southern parts of the metropolis.

Security agents were also seen sending away people, mostly youths, who have converged on various streets between the Katsina Road roundabout and Ahmadu Bello Stadium roundabout.

In Tudun Wada and Sabon Gari areas of the metropolis, our reporter also observed that people were seen massing on the roads of the major streets that link with the Nnamdi Azikiwe Express Way.

In Dutsinma Street, for instance, some irate youths were seen attacking vehicles of passers-by with stones. The irate youths smashed the windscreen and side glasses of a sedan car belonging to a business man, Alhaji Garba, on Dutsinma Street, while rushing to reach his residence in Bakin Ruwa.

By 9pm last night, calm had returned to Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari, Kabala West junction areas, with only sirens of security vehicles on patrol being heard.

Why we imposed curfew:

The state government said the 24 hour curfew imposed on the metropolis was meant to stop the tension from degenerating into full blown violence.

Announcing the curfew, Samuel Aruwan, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media and Publicity), said: “The Kaduna State Government today received and assessed reports of panic in Kujama, followed by Sabon Tasha and a few other places around Kaduna. Reports of the panic triggered a considerable sense of anxiety as rumours compounded a fraught situation following the violent clashes that occurred in Kasuwan Magani on Thursday.

“The Kaduna State Government has acted to prevent this sense of panic from spreading or triggering any threat to law and order. Therefore, the state government has declared a curfew in Kaduna metropolis and its environs to manage the situation.

“Governor Nasir El-Rufai announced the curfew in a live statement broadcast on the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). In the statement, the governor appealed to all residents to do their best to uphold peace.

“The governor said that security agencies are taking necessary action to reassure our communities, restore calm and uphold law and order.

“The Kaduna State Security Council will meet to review the situation on Monday, 22 October 2018. Further updates will be issued accordingly.

The Kaduna State Government calls on all residents of the state to uphold harmony in their communities, respect the law and cooperate with security agencies to keep the peace.”

IGP deploys AIG to Kaduna

Lakanu is to restore lasting peace to Kasuwar Magani area in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a statement by police spokesman DCP Jimoh Moshood said yesterday.

The police statement also condemned the attack and killing of innocent people, while calling for calm as the Police Special Investigation Team has made significant progress in the investigation into the incident.

It expressed concern over the attack and killings of 55 people, and the disturbance of peace in Kasuwar Magani on the 18th of October, 2018.

Moshood said the AIG is leading the Police Special Intervention Force comprising Four (4) Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF) specially trained Anti-Riot Policemen, Counter Terrorism Unit, Conventional Policemen and Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).

Politics / Mission Starts With Approvals Of $50million by gimmehear(f): 12:07pm On Oct 21, 2018
The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a $50 million line of credit to Nigeria’s Fidelity Bank Plc to support small and medium sized of the mission 2020.

The money is also meant to support women-owned enterprises in selected transformative sectors, including close to a hundred SMEs in manufacturing, health and education.

Approved by the Bank’s Board on 10 October 2018, the facility is fully dedicated to financing micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a minimum of 30 percent going to women-owned enterprises.

The loan will enhance Fidelity Bank’s liquidity and help meet the demand for medium-term funding to players in the target sectors, contributing to improved quality of lives, job and wealth creation and tax-revenue generation.

The facility complements the Government of Nigeria’s long-term development strategy, as espoused in its Vision 20:2020 agenda.

Aligned with Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan 2017-2020 (ERPG), the funding will ultimately boost enterprise competitiveness and expand Nigeria’s economic base.

The ERPG seeks to stimulate Nigeria’s economic growth, catalyse macroeconomic stability, foster diversification of the economy, and enhance social inclusion as well as governance.

According to AfDB, SMEs account for 30 per cent of Fidelity Bank’s loan portfolio.

The selection of the tier 2 Nigerian bank for this seven-year credit facility (with a grace period of two years) is based on its strong niche presence in the SME and mid-sized corporate space.

It is also in recognition of the bank’s credit management and strong track record with the African Development Bank. The Nigerian lender has previously received US$18 million and US$75 million lines of credit from the development finance institution in 2001 and 2013, respectively.

“Fidelity Bank is a niche player, focused on the SME space and this US$50 million credit line will contribute to strengthening its presence in its key market segments,” said Ebrima Faal, Senior Director, Nigeria Country Office at the African Development Bank.

“The Nigerian financial institution also continues to meet its ongoing credit obligations under the terms of previous support received from the African Development Bank.”

The line of credit to the Nigerian financial institution is consistent with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy (2013–2022). It also aligns with two of its High 5 priorities – Industrialize Africa and Improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.

Founded in 1987, Fidelity Bank Plc has grown from its marginal position into a stable banking institution.

Currently the 10th largest commercial bank in Nigeria by asset size, it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May 2005.

It has a broad client base of about four million customers nationwide, served from a network of over 240 branches and business offices, supported by alternative service delivery channels like ATMs, mobile and electronic banking, and agency banking channels.

Following its renewed digital banking and retail drive, Fidelity Bank was ranked 4th best bank in Nigeria in the retail market segment in the KPMG Banking Industry Customer Satisfaction Survey (BICSS) in 2017.

Politics / Chris Ngige : We Can't Allow Employees To Dictate Payment To Us by gimmehear(f): 3:48pm On Oct 20, 2018
Amidst the growing rage for the upward review of the national minimum wage, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, says employees cannot dictate to their employers what they ought to earn but an agreement must be reached collectively.

A statement by the Director (Press) at the Ministry, Samuel Olowookere, said the minister said this when the new Director-General of Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, Mr. Timothy Olawale; and his predecessor, Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, visited him.

Ngige said, “We need to arrive at a figure which the employers can afford to pay as an employee cannot fix a figure for the employer. Rather, it must be based on mutual agreement by the tripartite partners.

“It is not a function of moving motions or voting at the National Tripartite Negotiation Committee that the figure must be as the organised labour appears to make it look.

“There is absolutely therefore no need to heat up the polity. The government’s proposed new minimum wage figure is clearly based on critical facts and indices incapable of causing disequilibrium in the economy.”

The minister said it was important for the organised labour to accept a new minimum wage based on the capacity and the ability of both the government and the private sector to pay.

He appealed to NECA to appeal to the organised labour to accede to the new minimum wage. figure mutually agreeable to all the social partners.

Politics / Dino Melaye: Yahaya Bello Wants To Kill Me by gimmehear(f): 4:21pm On Oct 18, 2018
Senator Dino Melaye representing the Kogi West senatorial district, on Wednesday, said Governor Yahaya Bello was planning to kill him.

Melaye alleged that information at his disposal points that the governor was planning to kill him using some his Aide de Camp, the state police commissioner and the officer in charge of SARS in the state.

Melaye made this allegation Monday while chatting with newsmen in his country home, Aiyetoro.

The senator also alleged that the governor”s plan was to stop him from campaigning for his reelection in next year general election.

However governor Yahaya Bello has descried the allegation as a blatant lie and arrant noise aimed at drawing unnecessary attention to him and urged the Senator to leave him out of his problems.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday on the recent invasion of his house at Ayetoro-Gbede some days ago by some security agents, he said that the governor has instructed the security agents in the state to arrest him whenever he visited the state.

He noted that the plan of the governor was to keep him away from the state so that he will not be able to campaign for his reelection.

“The governor wants me out of circulation, he doesn’t want me around to campaign for my reelection. Information reaching me is that he wants me to be arrested, arraigned by a Kangaroo court, locked up and then I wouldn’t be able to campaign

“I have written the President, United Nations, UK embassy, CJN, AU, ECOWAS, German, Canadian embassies. This is the fourth assassination attempt on my life.

“I was in Lokoja on the fateful Thursday, I drove past the Government House after a one hour meeting with Senator Ogbeha resident in GRA, my convoy and that of the Governor met and at the end of the day they did not arrest me in Lokoja.

“I was in Koton-Karfe where I had a meeting in the residence of Musa Ahmodu, former SSG, I was also in Gegu where I had a meeting. Only for my house to be invaded at 1.00am, thank God that I had an Intent that they were coming, if not they were to come and kill me.

“I was in Lokoja throughout the afternoon they could not arrest me and my house is known to everybody. I have been moving around as a free Nigerian, my office is known to people so if they want to arrest me over something that happened July, 19th and all these while they have not taken any proactive step only to burgle into my residence at 1am with 30 SARS some of whom were not in uniform.

“It was obvious that it was another assassination attempt like they did on the 18th of July, On that 19th of July I was with some persons on my convoy when they opened fire on us.

“I was a victim of an assassination attempt and am being invited to answer some questions, is that not funny?.

“They opened fire on my car spraying it with bullets, if not for the bullet proof and the grace of God but they have turned around to say that I sponsored hoodlums to attack policemen who were on duty.

Mean while, governor Bello urged the embattled Senator representing Kogi West to face his problems with the Nigerian Police and stop “hanging them on innocent people”.

Addressing journalists in Lokoja over the allegations by the Senator that the Governor of the State was behind his travails, the Director General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, Kingsley Fanwo dismissed such as “untrue, illogical and a desperate attempt by the sinking Senator to whip up sentiments”.

“We have decided to allow Dino Melaye sink alone. We are not prepared to sink with him. He can’t lean on the State Government to reawaken his dead political career.

“The cases between the Nigeria Police and Dino Melaye are well documented. None of them has anything to do with either the State Government or the Governor. Nigerians are used to such spurious allegations and blackmail for political gains.

“This is a Senator who said he stayed on a tree for eleven hours. This is a Senator who framed his own constituents on an assassination charge which was later thrown out by a competent court of law of jurisdiction.

“As a Government, we are preoccupied by our desire to make the State one,” he added.

Also reacting to the allegation, the state police commissioner, Ali Janga said nobody was planning to kill the senator but the senator has been implicated in a a criminal case and he has to come for interrogation.

Politics / Why I Took Everything I Donated To Apc While In Office by gimmehear(f): 3:37pm On Oct 18, 2018
Former women affairs minister Aisha Alhassan, who recently resigned her appointment and dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained why she retrieved computers and furniture she donated to the Taraba state chapter of her former party.

Mr Aaron Artimas, Taraba APC publicity secretary in the state had yesterday revealed that Alhassan also removed rugs, air-conditioning sets and tables she had bought for the political party when she was a member. “We find this development shameful, unfortunately it is true.

The former minister has emptied the office she furnished when she was a member of the APC,” Artimas told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Jalingo.

Artimas said that the party leadership obliged her request and watched as she removed everything from the party secretariat, and expressed surprise that the former minister stooped so low to recover even minor items she had donated to the party.

“It is amazing to us because Aisha Alhassan was the highest beneficiary of the party in the state,” he claimed.

Artimas said that Alhassan had embarrassed herself with that action because she was still keeping the benefits that accrued to her as minister under the APC-led federal government.

“It is a very shameful action, but we shall leave her to conscience,” he said.

But defending her action, Alhassan said that she did not order the removal of the items, but supported it because of the injustice the party meted to her.

“I bought the items with my money; when my boys told me they were removing them from the party secretariat, I gave them the go ahead because the APC does not deserve anything of mine,” she told NAN in an interview from Abuja. She dismissed the claims that the items were moved from Jalingo to Abuja.

“I could not have moved the items to Abuja. I merely gave my boys the nod to move them out because the APC was wicked to me. If I had left the party on my own, I would not have bothered about the items, but you know the circumstances that pushed me out.

“I bought the items to furnish the party secretariat, but since I have moved to the UDP, I did not see anything wrong with moving with all my belongings. They should buy their own furniture for the offices,” she said.

NAN recalls that Alhassan, who was screened out of the gubernatorial race by the party, resigned as minister of women affairs and also withdrew her membership of the party before joining the UDP to pursue her governorship ambition.

Alhassan had contested for the seat in 2015, on the platform of the APC, but lost to the incumbent, Darius Ishaku of the PDP.

The senator added that, “Having moved from the PDP to the APC, I think it’s a jolly good movement. I’m happy and excited that I have direct access to be heard by the government. Whatever advice I’ll give will not be seen from an opposition point of view.”

MAN RAPED SIX BOYS FOR RITUAL.
Posted on October 17, 2018 AuthorTemi Badmus Comment(0)
The Niger State police command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Adamu Mohammed, for allegedly having sexual intercourse with six under-aged boys through the anus.

Suspect, Adamu Mohammed,
Mohammed was said to have been having regular sexual intercourse with the male children for a long time until he met his waterloo
He was nabbed by the police following a tip off. The incident occoured at inat Korokpa in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.

The suspect, who admitted having sexual intercourse with the boys, was trailed and picked up by police operatives attached to Chanchaga Division based on a tip-off while trying to escape to an unknown destination.

Investigations showed that in September, a man, Yusuf Buhari, of the same address, reported to police that Mohammed lured his 10-year-old son, Luka Jonathan, into his room and had sexual intercourse with him through his anus.

Other victims are Safari (12), Patrick (10), Donald (12), Yakubu (11) and Pius (10), all of the same address. It was learnt that Mohammed, who migrated from Jigawa State, has no wife and has been involved in the act for over two years.

Further checks revealed that he has been having regular sexual intercourse with the male children for a long time until he met his waterloo.

Mohammed told our correspondent that he was into this heinous act because his girlfriend left him and no other girl was willing to have sex with him, then he resorted to taking the advantage of under-aged boys in his area.

He said: “My girlfriend and I separated long time ago because of her constant denial of sex. Since then, I have no girlfriend. Even when I made effort to get one it didn’t work. I decided to be making love to under-aged boys in my area.

“I enjoy sleeping with those little boys since I cannot impregnate them. I have been doing it for a long time and I find it extremely difficult to leave because it has become part of me.”

Asked whether he was having sexual intercourse with under-aged boys for ritual purposes, Mohammed said he was doing it to have sexual satisfaction since his girlfriend deserted him.

The suspect also confessed giving his victims sweets, soft drinks and biscuits after sodomising them as gratification but regretted his action.

Confirming the incident yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muhammad Abubakar, described the case as disturbing, nasty and dehumanising, adding that the suspect was caught in the act.

He said: “We need to build the confidence of the children so that they can tell their parents anything or any challenges they are facing at any time.

“It is unfortunate and sad that a child will face sort of situation without telling the parents.”

Abubakar disclosed that the matter would be charged to court after investigation
