Sacked driver connives with two to kidnap boss’ wife in Port Harcourt
By REPUBLICAN Nigeria - December 5, 2020 0

A driver, Tigidam Bright, has been arrested for his complicity in the kidnapping of his boss’ wife, Mrs Gift Topba, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He was apprehended alongside two suspected kidnappers – Isaac Michael, Leera Barisua – by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.

It was learnt that some gunmen kidnapped Gift, the wife of an Ogoni human rights activist, Gani Topba, on August 25, 2020 at the entrance of an estate where she lives and took her to their den in the Khana area of the state.

They reportedly demanded N100m ransom initially but later reduced it to N500,000, which was paid by the family before she was released.

IRT detectives investigating the incident were said to have traced a mobile phone the gang used for negotiating the ransom to an unnamed man who assisted them in arresting Michael and Barisua.

It was gathered that in the course of interrogation, the duo mentioned Bright as the mastermind and he was also picked up.

In an interview during the week, Bright denied orchestrating Gift’s abduction but confessed to have got N100,000 from the ransom.

He said he told his friends (Michael and Barisua) how his boss of eight years allegedly sacked him unjustly and they promised to help deal with him.

He explained, “I am from Khana. I left secondary school in 2006 and went to learn how to fabricate metals. When I completed the apprenticeship and couldn’t secure a job at an oil company, I went to work with Chief Gani Topba as his personal driver. When the COVID-19 pandemic started and there was a lockdown, Chief (Topba) was in Abuja. He asked that his Port Harcourt office should be shut down and I dropped his keys with his secretary.

“He paid my salary one month into the lockdown but after the lockdown, he refused to take me back as his driver. I tried all I could to get back the job but it wasn’t possible. I learnt that the chief sacked me because I diverted a business contract he was supposed to execute to someone else. But I didn’t do such a thing.

“Sometime in August 2020, I travelled to Khana to visit some of my friends. They asked if I was still working with the chief and I told them that he fired me over an unfounded allegation. Then they promised to deal with him on my behalf. I didn’t know that their plan was to kidnap his wife. I learnt that she was kidnapped and after she was released, I was given N100,000 as my share of the ransom.”

Bright claimed that he collected the money because he was scared his friends might kill him if he failed to cooperate with them.

Michael, 37, said he was introduced to kidnapping by a friend at large, identified simply as Mark, who in turn linked him up with Barisua, to form a four-man gang.

The father of two confessed to having participated in three operations since he joined the gang in July 2020, adding that they freed one of their victims without collecting ransom because he was a pastor.

He said, “We kidnapped a woman at Rumuporisi area of Port Harcourt and took her to our camp in Kaani-Kor community (Khana area) in Mark’s car. She spent three days with us and was released after N2m was paid as ransom to secure her freedom. I got N300,000 as my own share.

“My last operation was the kidnapping of the wife of Chief Gani Topba. His driver brought the job to our gang and he was also the person who showed us his house in Port Harcourt. He also told us the colour and brand of car his wife drives. We kidnapped her on August 25, 2020 and kept her in our camp, while one of my phones which I later sold was used for the ransom negotiation.

“A ransom of N500,000 was eventually paid and I got N100,000 as my share. I know Chief Gani Topba; he is from my community but his driver claimed he treated him badly which made us kidnap his wife.”

Barisua, a graduate of Electrical Engineering, said he went into kidnapping after losing his job at an oil company in Port Harcourt, but insisted that he did not participate in Gift’s abduction.

Crime / Unlike Sanwo-olu ,prof Zulum Gave Family Of Killed Farmers N600,000 Each by gimmehear(f): 9:13am On Dec 05, 2020
Contrary to the believe that victims of Boko Haram attack last Saturday in Borno were rice farmers; fresh fact has emerged Friday morning that they were actually informants and logistics suppliers to the insurgents.

About 48 persons were reportedly slain Saturday morning in Zarbamari, a town in Borno State, North East Nigeria, by the Boko Haram insurgents, who later claimed responsibility.

The recent attack which was believed by many to be on rice farmers, has elicited commentaries and condemnations from all spheres of life.

Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum, Governor of Borno State, had also on Thursday, disbursed the sum of N600,000 to members of family of each of the slain farmers, while North East Governors donated N20m and North East Development Commission (NEDC) gave N5m to the families.

But Mallam Kabiru Zanna, a local of Zarbamari, who spoke with this Correspondent Friday morning, said those affected were mainly collaborators of Boko Haram who hailed from Zamfara and Sokoto states and not farmers.

“The people that were killed were actually logistics suppliers and collaborators with Boko Haram. They supply them food, fuel. They also help the insurgents in selling rustled cows”, he said.

Zanna who spoke in Hausa language, also narrated what actually transpired on that fateful Saturday and how the transaction between the insurgents and their erstwhile collaborators went awry.

“Last week, these same people were on their way to meeting the insurgents for business when they were accosted by soldiers and after the soldiers couldn’t find anything on them they let them go.

“Meanwhile, the insurgents who were waiting saw them with the troops who later killed 5 of them after an ambush, so the insurgents accused those guys of providing Intel to the soldiers. This is the main reason why the terrorists began killing them.

“The insurgents called them to meet on Thursday but they said they wouldn’t be able to make it unless on Saturday. They agreed to meet early morning 5:00am on that Saturday. They even had their morning prayers there.

“From there, the insurgents began to tell them about those guys who used to supply them food, who also betrayed them by providing Intel to the troops.

“Normally if there are betrayers in a town the entire community would pay the price for such acts. At that moment, the insurgents ordered that everyone be tied. They instructed that no gun should be fired in other not to attract troops.

“That was exactly what happened. Those people mostly are collaborators of the terrorists”, he added.

Zanna, who has been keeping tabs with activities of Boko Haram in the state, said, though some that were killed were innocent, “but very few of them. I swear most of them are traders with the insurgents. None of them is a rice farmer, they are all in trade with the insurgents”.

When contacted on phone, a Media Aide to Governor Babagana Umar Zulum, Mr. Ahidjo Abdu Likita, confirmed the revelation.

“Yes, it has been confirmed that the victims slaughtered were agents of Boko Haram”, he told our Correspondent on phone, adding that, further investigation was being carried to reveal more.

When asked why the Governor went ahead to disburse money to perceived family members of the victims, since they were collaborators, Likita said, “the Governor didn’t know the real of all the scenario till today”.

He said, “everybody was thinking it was the real people of Zabarmari village”, until the information got to the Governor this morning.

Crime / NEPF Says Opposition Party Is Involved In Killing Borno Farmers by gimmehear(f): 6:11pm On Nov 30, 2020
NEPF says opposition party is involved in killing Borno Farmers

The North East Patriots Forum (NEPF) says there is a political undertone in the killing of farmers at Zarbamari community in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

Contrary to reports, the group said the dastardly act may not have been committed by Boko Haram terrorists, rather aggrieved opposition politicians in Borno.

The forum, which made this known at a press conference on Monday, said the killings could be linked to the first local government elections in the state after 13 years.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Secretary-General, Alhaji Isah Bulama, said opposition members on sensing imminent defeat at the polls, resorted to unorthodox means to scuttle the exercise.

While condemning the barbaric act, the North-East forum called on relevant security authorities to swiftly unravel those behind it.

It, however, handed a 14-day ultimatum to security operatives to arrest the killers and bring them to justice.

Read the full statement below:

The leadership of the North East Patriots Forum welcomes all stakeholders to the important press conference in the light of the dastardly act of violence carried out on farmers in Zarbamari village in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

We condemn such barbaric act in its entirety and wish to extend our condolences to the people of Jere Local Government Area and Borno State at large. We must admit that these are indeed trying times in the North East region of the country especially with the threats posed by the Boko Haram terrorist group that has seen to the death of thousands as well as the displacement of millions of people in the North East region.

The North East Patriots Forum is desirous that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought the face the full wrath of the law within the shortest possible time.

We are indeed shocked with the way and manner young and agile men were slaughtered by the supposed Boko Haram members while tiling their farmland in Zarbamari community which has been hitherto one of the most peaceful local government areas since the beginning of the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State.

It is also very shocking that Jere Local Government has never been in the news due to the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group and for this dastardly act to be committed leaves `more to the imagination.

The way and manner these farmers were killed are also suspect in the sense that since the beginning of the Boko Haram insurgency in North-East Nigeria, the group has not been known for slitting throats and beheading farmers as evident in Zarbamari recently.

We are also constrained to ask some critical questions with regards to the killings in Zarbamari because as critical stakeholders, we are not aware of farming activities in Zarbamari in this time of the year and rice cultivation as such. We are also constrained to ask why such a large number of people would elect to gather at a location without any form of protection either at the community level or from the security agencies.

We also beg to ask what was the prevailing political atmosphere in Jere Local Government before the killings. Were those killed members of a political party or ethnicity? Was there prior violence in the area before the killings? Who are the leading contenders in the conducted local government elections in Jere Local Government Area?

All of these questions require answers if Nigerians indeed want to know the truth about what transpired at Zarbamari village in Jere Local Government Area. As concerned stakeholders in the region, we can say to a large extent that we understand the dynamics of Borno State and Jere Local Government Area to be precise. It is consequently hard to believe that indeed the killings were perpetrated by the Boko Haram terrorist group.

READ ALSO Boko Haram caused $6bn worth of destructions in Borno – Gov Zulum reveals
We have our reservations and which is heightened by the fact that the killings coincided with the recently conducted local government elections in Borno State after 13 years. We are also constrained to want to believe that the killings in Zarbamari have political undertones with the way and manner the victims were executed, which by all indication was to send a strong message to an individual or a group.

Nigerians must indeed be aware that Zarbamari community in Jere Local Government Area is not one that has experienced much of Boko Haram attacks since the beginning of the insurgency. It, therefore, beats our imaginations as to why such would happen when the Boko Haram group has been decimated. Their activities confined to the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin region, which is hundreds of miles from Jere Local Government Area.

The North East Patriots Forum believes that the killings in Zarbamari community are nothing but a political event that is aimed towards scuttling the conduct of local government elections in the state. And the perpetrators are most likely the members of the opposition that apparently do not stand a chance at the polls in the local government area and hence they must do all within their means including unorthodox means to scuttle the peace and tranquillity in Borno State.

The North East Patriots Forum is also aware that the real intention behind the killing of the farmers in Zarbamari is for political expediencies and not an attack by the Boko Haram terrorist group as widely alleged.

We are using this medium to call on the relevant security agencies to as a matter of urgency unravel those behind the dastardly act that was committed in Zarbamari. We are also giving the various security agencies a 14 days ultimatum to arrest the killers of these innocent people and bring them to justice.

We must also expressly state that human life is dignifying. As such, no individual or group should denigrate human life for political considerations as in the case with the killings in Zarbamari.

It is our firm stance that nobody should take Nigeria and Nigerians for granted or play politics with the blood of innocent citizens. This is indeed despicable and must be condemned by all and sundry.

The North East Patriots Forum is indeed watching events as they unfold in Borno State with regards to the local government elections and states that should there be further escalation of violence, the blame should go to members of the opposition in the state which by all intents and purposes are not happy with the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum for having the boldness to conduct LG elections.

Whatever be the case, it must be expressly noted that the Boko Haram terror group could not have carried out the recent killings in Zarbamari but instead a politically sponsored killings which are as a result of the recently conducted local government elections in the state.

There are indeed puzzles behind the Zarbamari killings. We thank you all for your time.

Politics / Presidency Faults Killed Borno Farmers For Not Taking Military Clearance by gimmehear(f): 3:41pm On Nov 30, 2020
Presidency faults killed Borno farmers for not taking military clearance

The Nigerian government has criticised the 43 rice farmers killed in Borno for not getting military clearance before going to their farms.

Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said the farmers should have gotten a military clearance before going to farm and this maybe seen as fault of the killed Borno Farmers.

“The truth has to be said. Is there any clearance by the military which is in total control of those areas? Did anybody ask to resume activities? I have been told by the military leaders that they have not been so advised,” Shehu told BBC in an interview.

“People need to understand what it is like in the Lake Chad area. “Much of those areas have been liberated by Boko Haram terrorists but there are a number of spaces that have not been cleared for the return of villagers who have been displaced.

“Ideally, all of these places ought to probably be allowed to pass the test of military clearance before settlers or even farmers resume activities on those fields.”

About 43 rice farmers were killed by Boko Haram in Zabarmari, about 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, on Saturday and were buried on Sunday amidst tears in the community.

The United Nations described their killing as “the most violent attack” targeted at civilians in 2020.

While governors in the northern region have condemned the killing and called for better security, Shehu said that the military cannot be in every part of the area.

“The military is not present on every inch of space in that area,” Shehu said.

On the possibility of people returning to their farms and homes around the area, Shehu said, “even if the people are ready to go back, some of these areas have been mined and mine clearance has to be carried out first.”

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday expressed grief over the killing of farmers on rice fields at Zabarmari, in Jere Local Government of Borno State, describing the terrorist killings as insane.

“I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief,” Buhari said.

Politics / Opposition Parties Are The One Causing Problems In Buhari's Govt : DCN by gimmehear(f): 11:27am On Nov 30, 2020
Opposition sponsoring violence in Nigeria to discredit Buhari govt – DCN

The Democratic Coalition of Nigeria (DCN) has raised the alarm over what it termed the way, and manner members of the opposition have “continually initiated moves to undermine the sovereignty of Nigeria through the sponsorship violence across the country.”

The group stated that the wave of violence across the country is indeed the handiwork of those that are hell-bent on truncating democracy in Nigeria in fulfilment of their desire to discredit the present administration in spite of its lofty plans and policies towards translating the hopes and aspirations of Nigerians into tangible realities.

Kolade Christopher, the Publicity Secretary of the group, in a statement on Monday, noted that those behind violent activities are indeed staunch supporters of the former presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

DCN therefore called on the government to do all within its means to bring the perpetrators of violence in the country to book for their nefarious activities pointing out that no individual is bigger than the country.

He said, “It is the considered opinion of the Democratic Coalition of Nigeria (DCN) that the former presidential candidate has refused to come to terms with reality since his electoral loss in the 2019 general elections and since then, he has not relented in his blind pursuit to make the country ungovernable.

“It is also a statement of the fact that indeed these unscrupulous elements and enemies of Nigeria appear to be in frequent touch with members of the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist group, armed bandits and other criminal gangs whose activities have indeed heightened insecurity in the country.

violence Buhari govt DCN
“The Democratic Coalition of Nigeria (DCN) therefore wishes to inform members of the general public that the ferociousness of these unscrupulous elements is now pronounced after the failure of the EndSARS protest to disintegrate Nigeria.

“The reality of times is indeed worrisome and should give all well-meaning Nigerians a cause to worry due to the active plot to undermine the sovereignty of Nigeria by all means available including the propagation of fake news and the sponsorship of acts intended to cause disaffection in the polity and set the country on fire.

READ ALSO Why our Governors visited Jonathan – APC
“Nigerians must indeed be aware that revelations from the sponsorship of the #EndSARS protest have indeed put these elements on the hot seat. As such, they have elected to work on the minds of the generality of the public by making wild allegations with regards to the efforts of the government towards addressing the security challenges in the country.

“The Democratic Coalition of Nigeria (DCN) is using this medium to send a note of warning to members of the opposition to desist from their despicable plot to undermine the sovereignty of Nigeria. It is also a shame that a former vice president can elect to be aggressively against the interest of the country.

“Nigerians must also be aware that those constantly parading themselves as democrats before the general public are those aggressively fuelling violence in the country for their selfish interest, not minding whose ox is gored. Violence Buhari govt DCN

“The Democratic Coalition of Nigeria (DCN) states that Nigerians must realize that the efforts of the government have been most proactive and as such all hands must be on deck in ensuring that the enemies of Nigerian do not have their way in the plot towards undermining Nigeria.

“We are also using this medium to charge the various security agencies to continue to render invaluable services to the country by ensuring that the activities of non-state actors are adequately addressed in the overall interest of the country.”

Education / ASUU Debunk News To Call Off Strike After Meeting With FG by gimmehear(f): 8:31am On Nov 28, 2020
ASUU debunk news to call off strike after meeting with FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has debunked a news report that it agreed to call off the ongoing strike after meeting with the Government negotiation team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige on Friday.

The Federal Government at the meeting at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Labour and Employment reportedly increased its offer for Earned Allowances EA to university based unions and funding for the revitalization of public universities from N65 billion to N70 billion.

There was news report that ASUU has given an indication that the meeting, the strike which started since March would soon be called off after a meeting with the leadership of union and its organs.

According to the report, the university teachers agreed to call off the strike after the government pledged to pay N40 billion for Earned Allowances and N30 billion for the revitalization of the university system bringing the total payment to N70 billion.

It was further reported that the Government agreed to settle the arrears of salaries of the lecturers before December 31.

The report also noted that ASUU was expected to report the agreement to its organs and then communicate their decision to the government after which a date for the calling off of the strike would be announced.

It quoted a source within the university union, that ASUU insisted that the agreement to call off the strike should not be announced until it has been approved by its members.

But ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has denied knowledge of any agreement to call off the strike, stressing that at the meeting, it was only agreed that union should convey Government message to their organs and get back to Government.

Prof. Ogunyemi, said : ” I am not aware of that. All I know is that we had a meeting and we are going to report to our members. But I don’t know about suspension of strike.”

However, a source in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, said that after the meeting, the Minister, Senator Ngige, who described the meeting as “fruitful,” added that the government made a proposal to ASUU which it would take back to its members.

Ngige told reporters after the meeting that, “Many issues were discussed at the meeting including salary shortfall, the payment system and revitalization of the university system. I am positive that all the issues would be resolved at our next meeting.”

Friday’s meeting was about the seventh time both sides have met to resolve the issues in contention since the university union embarked on strike on March 23.

After the meeting of last Friday before we started hearing that ASUU debunk news to call off strike after meeting with FG ,November 20, Government agreed to exempt ASUU members who had not enrolled in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and put them on the Government Integrated Financial and Management Information System (GIFMIS) pending when ASUU’S preferred payment platform- the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) will be approved.

ASUU had consistently rejected IPPIS, stressing that it will erode the autonomy of the university system.

Abubakar had noted that Faisal has failed to attend court to stand trial, as against the undertaking by his surety, Umar Sani Dan Galadima (Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency of Zamfara State) that he would always attend court.

Justice Abang also granted Abubakar’s request the summons be issued on Sani Dan Galadima to show cause why he should not forfeit the N60million bail bond he undertook to forfeit should Faisal jumps bail.

Travel / How Ogolonto BRT Stand Is Sequential To Nigeria Corruption by gimmehear(f): 1:46pm On Aug 31, 2020
Ogolonto BRT Stand, Ikorodu, Lagos – – Living in Lagos is stressful, everyone is aware of that and everyone choose to live there anyways. But living in Ikorodu is worse not stressful, it might be a bit easier for those staying at Agric, and Ikorodu bus stop because certain things work the way it should work but you see Ogolonto; sometimes I feel that bus-stop is cursed and the bus-stop isn’t just lucky enough to have good worker working on it. I’m certain that bus-stop cries daily on the abuse it receives from the BRT ticketer, security etc.

I am in my twenties, I have seen corruption but as a freelancer, I’m not sure I have seen much corruption as I have seen at Ogolonto BRT Stand. I’m talking about seeing a security collecting N50 to create another non-existing queue for people who came 9:00am to get into the bus before people who have been by 7:00am.

The very interesting part is that they keep changing these workers but their attitude towards corruption never change, its like a circle – the next set continues from where the other stopped.

For example; I often stop at Justrite then walk up to the BRT stand, sometimes I get there by some minutes to seven or some minutes past seven and I leave the stand by ten, I have never left that stand earlier than that… I’m sure someone will wonder why? Well I do have explanation ( since I’m one of the few citizen who won’t give the security N50 to cheat others, then I really have to wait.

Sometimes I have to take TBS which is N500, so I can get to work faster.

The most annoying and painful part is when I see other people stand on the queue and some young people give these security money to move. Buses come and go but the queue never moves.

I have been experiencing this for about ten months and I can boldly state that it is a perpetual thing they do on regular basis, I do not even want to talk about the part where one security woman who is always on glasses insults people daily (she seat on the rail and insult the passengers daily. That Won’t be my business because she has never insulted me.

Towards the relax of Covid-19, the price of these BRT was increased by 100% ( from 150 to 300) the company incharge refused to follow social distancing law, or even increase buses… They collect 100% fare, make sure all the sits are fill but do not bother providing more buses, and ow! Maintenance is not even on their daily plan. One can still go through all the above from 7am, enter bus by 10am only for the bus to stop moving after 2mins drive.

The problem is the Primero, as an organisation that only care about collecting; an organisation full of corruption and lack of empathy for it customers just like the Nigeria government… You pay your tax to feed their belly yet they never care about you feel, you either die or survive the hard way.

It high time we started fighting organisation like this, not just the government.

Health / 5 Leaves That Help Cure Diabetes And Process On Using Them by gimmehear(f): 1:02pm On Jun 01, 2020
Five (5) Leaves that Could help Cure Diabetes

by Temi Badmus

Ten years ago I lost someone to diabetes, since then I have told myself, I would do my best for diabetic patients.

A lot of diabetes patients often use drug and most of these drugs have various effect on their nervous, circulatory and excretory organs. I am not against using medicine for diabetes but I do believe, a little Phytochemicals would help too.

Most of the drugs we use have two to three side effects that you never get to know about. I will be discussing five easily available leaves you can chew for diabetes – trust me the need to stabilize your sugar level won’t be a problem if you stay consistent with the usage.

I will basically discuss about this five leaves because I have had questions from my readers on how you can cure diabetes naturally.

So, below are five ‘readily available’ leaves that could help cure diabetic symptoms in you.

1. Bitter leaf
Few days ago I was discussing about the functions of bitter leaf to someone and he was really confused. I did told him that bitter leaf cures cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some coronary diseases and he was really shocked, he said ” I don’t eat bitter leaf because it’s too bitter”.

Bitter leaf is an effective way to cure diabetes due to its presence of Flavonoids, triterpenoids, anti viral compounds and glycosides which have high tendency of reducing sugar level.

Method of Usage
You can squeeze and drink bitter leaves. Also you can blend it into powder and chew twice a day for speedy effectiveness.

2. Scent leaf ( Efinrin)

Efinrin is another common leave which is available almost everywhere. This leaves is found to contain essential antioxidants and flavornoids which stabilizes sugar level in the body.

Five (5) Leaves that Could help Cure Diabetes - Temi Badmus
A lot of people who are familiar with leaves are very familiar with Efinrin, I myself I chew two pieces of efinrin leaves often. I don’t have diabetes, I chew them for weight loss and cleansing.

Efinrin has also been confirmed as one of the best natural leaves to battle and win diabetes. I will also like men with diabetes are advised to stay away from this due to Side effect on libido and sometimes infertility side effect from this leave, probably go for any of the other four.

3. Guava Leaves
Tea made from the leaves of the guava plant is one of the Foods for Specified Health Uses approved by Japan. The approval process requires studies on animals and humans, chemical analysis, and proof that the product is what it says it is. I wish the U.S. had a list like that.

Five (5) Leaves that Could help Cure Diabetes - Temi Badmus
An article in the journal Nutrition & Metabolism found that compounds in guava leaf tea inhibit absorption of certain types of sugar, so that levels don’t spike after meals. In one study, people drank guava tea after eating white rice. They had far less of a glucose rise than people who drank hot water.

Guava leaf seems to lower fasting sugars as well. In a study of people with Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, those who drank guava leaf tea with every meal for 12 weeks had lower fasting blood sugar levels than before they started drinking the tea…

Method of Usage

Get about 30 guava leaves, boil in 100ml of water, cool and allow to stay overnight. Take every morning.

4. Mango Leaves
Mango leaves is another leaf you don’t want to miss the usage.

The fact that mango leave cures diabetes isn’t just a stated fact or theory, it has been experimented and as worked.

A research done on mice in 2010 shows that mice when given Mango leave absorbed less glucose and this ultimately lowered their blood sugar level.

Mango leaves are found to improve insulin production, improve distribution of glucose to the body system which stabilizes sugar level. Most importantly, Mango contains numerous nutrients like pectin, ascorbic acid which lowers bad cholesterol in your body. Mango leaves is rich in antioxidants which is highly great for everyone.

Method of Usage

Boil 15 mango leaves in 100ml or 200ml of water.

Cool and allow to stay overnight, then take at the early hours of the morning before eating. Five minutes of boiling will be okay to avoid destroying the vitamins and the not heat stable antioxidants.

5. AAK Leaves

Aak plants are found everywhere in different species. It bears bluish-white flowers with thorny fruits. It has many religious aspects, as the flowers and fruits are used in the worshipping of Lord Shiva. Well, let us talk how Aak leaves can treat Obesity and Diabetes.

Five (5) Leaves that Could help Cure Diabetes - Temi Badmus
Method of Usage

Take 2 full leaves of Aak plant.

– From the (opposite side )which is little rough, place it on your feet sole and wear socks.

– Do the same with both the feet.

– Make sure that the leaves are touching your soles completely.

– Allow the leaves to stay there for whole day, before going to sleep remove it and wash your legs.

– Repeat the process with new leaves for a week or more depending on how bad the wound is.

– Make sure you go for sugar level checkup and you will be amazed.

At the end of the day, You will need to eat more of bitter leaves – leaves which have antioxidants are great in detoxifying and keeping the body in shape.

Fingers crossed, hope this heals you.

Politics / Obaseki Denied Access To Buhari, PDP Opens Door For Him. by gimmehear(f): 9:49pm On May 29, 2020
Obaseki denied access to Buhari, PDP opens Door for him.

Information reaching ChrisOsaMedia indicates that the embattled and outgoing Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki was been denied access to Mr. President after seeking emergency audience to discuss the mode of primary election he prefers in the state, for the forthcoming June 22 Edo APC Primaries.

According to Punch, the APC NWC have since adopted direct primary election for the Edo governorship. However, the embattled Governor of the state seems not to be pleased with the decision of the Party considering the fact that he’s not in good terms with majority members of the party, this led him to seek other ways to ensure he mounts enough pressure on the NWC to reverse its decision on direct primaries. The Governor has equally made moves to see some few and “very powerful” stakeholders of the party to help him buy his way.

First it was the former Governor of Lagos State and National leader of the APC, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Jagaban who of course did not not grant the embattled Governor any audience considering his continuous disrespect and arrogance towards party leaders and party authorities.

Governor Obaseki then proceeded to Abuja in an attempt to see Mr. President, this also was a huge disappointment as the President, as at yesterday could not grant him audience. It was gathered that Obaseki is still in Abuja deducing plans on next line of action to take to enable him get the president’s attention.

In another development, Obaseki who of course have since lost the support of party members and have suddenly become a stranger to Edo APC, has been allegedly invited by the PDP to contest their upcoming primary election in the state

In view of this, the PDP has clear basis for which Obaseki would be allowed to contest in the party’s governorship primary, as they do not intend to give it out without a formal contest.

PDP’s zonal vice-chairman (South-South), Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, who spoke in Benin City said the Governor will be welcomed to join them, as he will be given opportunity to contest in the PDP primaries.

Speaking in Benin, Chief Ogbidi said; “If Governor Obaseki comes, we will take him. We can’t drive anybody from entering. Our doors are wide opened.

“I am not, however, aware that he has started negotiations with us with a view to defecting. “If the governor has seen the light and wants to come to the PDP, he is welcome,” he added.

“There is going to be primary. The PDP does not award. If you win the primary, you become the candidate.

“We have started selling forms. The sale of forms ends on Friday. After that we screen. After then, we go for primary and whoever wins is the party’s candidate,” said the PDP Zonal Vice Chairman.

IBB: Northern Emirs, Rulers Forced Me To Annul June 12

Northern Emirs, Rulers Forced Me To Annul June 12, IBB Opens Up, Implicates David Mark, Abacha, Emirs

They will kill me; they will kill the President Elect, Chief MKO Abiola if I went ahead with the election and announced the winner of the elections which we all know to be Bashorun, Chief MKO Abiola.

”I know so; I am not daft. He won; he tried. I feel bad about the whole matter. Professor, I do not see how they will spare you because they know you are my principal confidant. You think they do not know you? They know; they know you are with me now. They saw you coming in and they know you are with me now I cannot kill myself for the sake of what the country wants. I am sorry,” IBB lamented. It was astonishing to hear a General stating that he could not lay down his life for his country.

It was clear that General Babangida was in a fix as of June 21st 1993. I then proceeded to deal with the questions of who were these “they” and for what reasons would they want to kill the President and the President Elect if the June 12 election were allowed to go forward. He named them in military and in ethnic categories:

”Sani (meaning General Sani Abacha) is opposed to a return to civilian rule. Sani cannot stand the idea of Chief Abiola, a Yoruba becoming his Commander- in- Chief; Sani seems to have the ears of the Norhern leaders that no Southerner especially from the South West should become the President of the country. Sani seems to rally the Northern elders to confront me on the matter. He is winning; the Sultan and the Northern leaders are of this frame of mind.”

”Where do I go from here? They do not trust me. Without Sani, I will not be alive today; without the North, I would not have become an officer in the Nigerian Army and now the President of Nigeria I don’t want to appear ungrateful to Sani; he may not be bright upstairs but he knows how to overthrow governments and overpower coup plotters. He saw to my coming to office in 1985 and to my protection in the many coups I faced in the past, especially the Orkar coup of 1990 where he saved me and my family including my infant daughter.”

”Sani risked his life to get me into office in 1983 and 1985; if he says he does not want Chief Abiola, I will not force Chief Abiola on him.”

He also named Lt General Dongoyaro and Brigadier General David Mark as those who were against Chief Abiola. In fact, he quoted David Mark as saying: I’d shoot Chief Abiola the day NEC( National Electoral Commission) pronounces him the elected President!

So sad! The same David Mark went to Senate and became Senate President in a democracy that MKO Abiola died for.

Politics / Why Money Ritual Is Being Associated With Senator Ifeanyi Ubah by gimmehear(f): 10:02am On May 26, 2020
Why is it that the story of money ritual is hovering around accidental Senator Ifeanyi U, if you putam Ubah na you sabi, to the extent that the story is also coming from his siblings.

People are wondering why the story of money ritual is hovering around accidental Senator Ifeanyi U, if you putam Ubah na you sabi.

The reason is because the story of money ritual is even coming from his own siblings.

He is from a family of 3 boys and happens to be the eldest among them.

The 3 siblings that are all males nearly stabbed each other to death in a fisticuff in year 2014.

As from that time till today, the younger siblings deserted him and they went as far as accusing him of killing their mother.

This is a true life story and not fabricated.

The truth I have discovered is that the accidental Senator is shameless and he likes hanging around bootlickers that will not summon the courage to tell him the truth.

He is fake and like staying with those that massages his over bloated ego beyond redemption.

I can state without mincing words that he is living in fake world.

He hate facing the reality and that is why his two younger siblings deserted him.

When I say that everything concerning this man is evil am saying the fact.

The above story of his siblings accusing him of using their mother for money ritual attracted the attention of his village elders and they intervened to settle their family rift but the two siblings maintained their stand that he used their mother for money ritual.

This is the same evil man that want to be entrusted with the future of ndi Anambra, God forbid bad thing.

Nobody will bring nemesis upon ndi Anambra .

This accidental Senator represents nemesis and ndi Anambra will not associate with nemesis.

Those marketing his ill conceived and ill advised governorship ambition are marketing nemesis that will be rejected by ndi Anambra.

Nothing is hidden on this planet earth because God must have a way of exposing evil doers as he did to the accidental Senator using his siblings.

His evil deeds is hunting him and will not give him breathing space until he puts a stop to evil way of life.

Daalu nu.

Politics / Against Fela: How Our Parent Ruined Nigeria And Our Future by gimmehear(f): 9:00pm On May 09, 2020
Against Fela: How our Parent ruined Nigeria and our future

Against Fela: How our Parent ruined Nigeria and our future – – Those adult from the 80s are the calamity of Nigeria!

I am not a supporter of violence but I do know due to my intellectual level that every political leader must be mad!!. A mad man doesn’t make calculated decision, neither are his steps predictable, but whatever he does, it’s always towards achieving something he thirst after.

I feel history may repeat itself, I’m not sure we understand what freedom is. I am not sure if those who fought for the so called independence in the 60s wanted it; what they wanted was to be able to steal from their own people, render their own people slaves, and in most cases join hands with the westerner to cheat their own people.

I was bitter when I read in history that Fela Kuti took the Stand to go for Presidency twice in the eighties but our parent never gave him a chance.

Kuti was outspoken; his songs spoke his inner thoughts. His rose in popularity throughout the 1970s signaled a change in the relation between music as an art form and Nigerian socio-political discourse.

Fela Kuti was one out of Few Nigerians who supported “Black Power” without Ethnic bias, never believed the Igbo is better, neither is the Yoruba or the Hausa better, but believe “Black Power ” was better.

Some of your parents never gave Fela a chance because they say “He is a monogamist ” meanwhile, your parents, and mine supported the Obas who are monogamist in nature to rule them, think about it? How is that different from Fela’s case?

In a more complex example, he mocks the aspiration of African women to European standards of ladyhood while extolling the values of the market woman in his song “Lady”.

Fela Kuti was also an outspoken critic even in the United States. At a meeting during his 1981 Amsterdam tour, he “complained about the psychological warfare that American organizations like ITT and the CIA waged against developing nations in terms of language.” Because terms such as Third World, undeveloped, or—even worse—non-aligned countries imply inferiority, Kuti felt they should not be used.

But “No! “. Your parents want to go to Harvard, learnt their culture, forget our own culture and then still want a good future? Is that actually possible?

In 1984, he harshly criticized and insulted the then authoritarian president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. One of his popular songs, “Beast Of No Nation”, refers to Buhari as an animal in a madman’s body; in Nigerian Pidgin: “No be outside Buhari dey ee, na krase man be dat, animal in krase man skin ii”.

In 2015, your parents and mine brought the same Buhari to liberate the country, most of them agreed he messed up the first time, but sold him to us that he will do better this second time.

For a man who failed for about four times of contesting for the same Presidential election? Don’t you think our parent are the problem, not the government?

Corruption was one of the worst political problems facing Africa in the 70s, if not the worst; and Nigeria was among the most corrupt countries of the time. Its government was responsible for election rigging and coups that ultimately worsened poverty, economic inequality, unemployment, and political instability, which further promoted corruption and thuggery. Fela’s protest songs covered themes inspired by the realities of corruption and socio-economic inequality in Africa. Fela Kuti’s political statements could be heard throughout Africa.

Your parent and mine made this same history, the same evil they made in eighties again in twenties… How gullible?

Fela spoke more on so many educational and knowledgeable things which would have made the country better, trust me, your parents and mine didn’t buy it, they always claim they are Professors of something, where as they have nothing that will benefits the country upstairs; all they know is how to collect Cheap cash, eat small rice and those who are government workers collect cheap money, send their children outside the country because they know the country was never going to be better, nevertheless they had someone who could make things better but “They never for once chose him!”.

Your parents and mine instead of focusing on the main thing that will make Nigeria grow, they focused more on the songs of Fela that spoke on monogamy, and then use this to spite women against Fela; Your parents and mine did nothing.

I can imagine, just like most of you operate your Gadgets “Move to type comment without using your sixth sense, our parent were uttering words that would never have helped Nigeria” … And here we are, 60 years later… We are still in bondage.

History had that Fela wanted to be the President twice! But your parents didn’t even help him reach primaries. Maybe because they were chickens, or probably I will say like someone said “Fela was never serious”, your parent preferred the people who were serious and had plan on how they would put the country to a wreck, and here we are… In a wreck.

Just so you know, for every wrong decision you make; you dampen the future of every young Nigerian who grew up with hope… Just like our parent from the eighties did to ours – social media influencers, you are part of this mission too.

For every adult from the eighties who could have spoken but kept quiet, they are the real calamity that befall our dear Country “Nigeria “.

Can I get Coronavirus by touching manhood or Vagina

Nigerians: Can I get Coronavirus by touching manhood or Vagina?

Can I get coronavirus through sex? Is it even feasible to have sex with coronavirus around? The spread of coronavirus in close proximity and by touch is a problem for daily life—especially when it comes to sex.

There are so many questions and worries about how coronavirus will affect sex. To separate facts from myths, the BBC got two health experts to answer questions. ADVERTISEMENT HOW OVER 5000 NIGERIA MEN HAVE PERMANENTLY OVERCOME TERRIBLE BEDROOM PERFORMANCE DUE TO THIS RECENT DISCOVERY BY MEDICAL CONSULTANTS Dr Alex George is an A&E doctor and former Love Island contestant.

Alix Fox is a sex journalist, presenter of BBC Radio 1’s Unexpected Fluids show, and co-host of The Modern Mann podcast. Is it safe to have sex during the coronavirus outbreak?

Dr Alex George: If you’re in a relationship… living with that person, and sharing the same environment, it shouldn’t change your situation. However if one of you is displaying symptoms of coronavirus then you should maintain your social-distancing and isolate, even within your home. In an ideal world everyone would stay two metres apart – even in their own house, but we realise this may not be realistic.

Alix Fox: It’s also really important not to assume that if you are experiencing mild symptoms of coronavirus it will be the same for your partner. So, if you’re showing any symptoms whatsoever do try and stay away from your lover. What about sex with new people?

Dr Alex: I certainly wouldn’t advise having new sexual partners at the moment, because the risk is you could pass on the virus.

Alix Fox: Don’t forget as well, some people who are carriers of the virus won’t have any symptoms. So even if you feel absolutely fine… you could still pass on the infection to someone and they could pass it on to other people via close contact and kissing. I kissed someone I recently met, and they’ve gone on to develop symptoms. What should I do?

Dr Alex: If you’ve kissed or been in contact with someone who you think has gone on to develop coronavirus, make sure you self-isolate. Keep an eye on your symptoms. If you are developing symptoms, then be extra careful. Go online to the NCDC website. Only call the 080097000010 number if your symptoms are so bad that you need medical support.

Alix Fox: We should be responsible with each other, and for ourselves in our relationships. If you’re somebody who has developed symptoms, and you know that you’ve kissed people recently, you should let them know. And even if you’ve kissed someone and they’ve got symptoms and you haven’t, you should also self-isolate. I wasn’t using condoms with my partner before coronavirus, should I start now? Alix Fox: The answer depends on why you weren’t using condoms. If you weren’t using condoms because you have both been tested for STIs, or you’re in a heterosexual relationship prior to menopause and are using another kind of contraception to prevent an unplanned pregnancy, then that’s fine. But if you weren’t using condoms because you were relying on something like the pull-out method – or you were taking chances with STIs – then it’s even more important that you use condoms now. Can I get coronavirus by touching someone else’s vagina or penis?

Dr Alex: If you are going to touch each other’s genitals it’s likely that you will potentially be kissing at the same time – and we know the virus is passed through saliva. Essentially, any possibility of transfer of coronavirus – from your mouth to your hands, to genitals, to someone else’s nose or mouth – increases the risk of passing on coronavirus. We want to cut this back to the absolute minimum. So, no contact between a partner that you’re not living with is really important. How can I maintain a relationship at a time like this? I don’t want to be single now. Alix Fox: This whole pandemic is prompting a lot of people to rethink what a good sex life is and what constitutes as an enjoyable, pleasurable exchange.

I’ve heard of people writing erotic stories to each other, and people who are dating but quarantined in different places taking advantage of the time and the distance. A lot of people have been getting really creative. If you use your imagination a little bit there are lots of ways you can have a sexy time without being face-to-face with somebody. It’s also important to remember that right now… some people might be discovering that they or their partners have different libidos. You might find yourself in a situation where you were only going on a date once a week, and suddenly you’re living under the same roof. You might find that you want sex when your partner doesn’t, or vice versa.

It’s important to communicate this in a respectful, compassionate manner. Living together does not mean that you’re entitled to sex whenever you want. And for anybody who is in a situation where they’re with a partner and they’re not having a good time, because they feel like they’re being forced into sex, there are helplines available for that. Am I more at risk of catching coronavirus if I have HIV? Alix Fox: Dr Michael Brady at the Terrence Higgins Trust has provided some really great advice on this. If you are already on regular medication to manage HIV, and you have a good CD4 count (number of white blood cells to fight infection) and an undetectable viral load (the amount of HIV in the blood) then you’re not considered to have a weakened immune system. This means you run no additional risk of contracting coronavirus. So, if you’re HIV positive, continue taking your meds as you would do. Make sure that you follow the same rules as everybody else when it comes to things like isolation.

Below is a well structured reason for why most things happening should not be a means of worry to Christians by Minister Kayode Fatoyinbo.

Man was designed to live by revelation and not just by information men; who live by information suffers what ordinary men suffers but men who live by revelation live above the predicament and hardship that plague other men because revelation is a superior information that is gotten from above (God), which has the power to make you live above the predicament facing the world while information is a fact or knowledge received from the earthly realm which has limitations therefore to live triumphantly above this present predicament that the world is facing you will need wait on God to receive a word from him. ~Fatoyinbo Kayode.

If you have read chapters 1 to 13 of Exodus well you will discover somethings about the nature and character of God and why God does what ever he does especially is intentions in allowing plagues upon the earth.

Let me share some truth with you about God with respect to the world.

1)The earth is the Lord and it’s fullness, the world and they that dwell in it. That is God owns this earth and everything including man in it, Psm24:1

2)God loves the world, Jhn3:16.

3)God always desires that the world be filled with his knowledge and his saving power: Isa11:9 & Hab2:14

4)God rules in the affairs of this world.

Because of the truth above about God he allows some unpalatable consequences of man’s action to happen especially to get the attention of man to himself.

You will notice in the story of Exodus that you read that God allowed those plagues because of the following:

1)He wanted to humble pharaoh and also make him known that he is God

2)He chose pharaoh because he was the most powerful king at that time and the whole world was under.

3)God wanted to get the attention of the world to himself and the way to do that is to deal with the most powerful king whom all other Kings rever and highly esteem

4)God allowed the plagues because he wanted to show his power and make the whole world aware of him. Exo9:16

5)The plagues are not meant for the destruction of his children but for their elevation

6)when things of this nature happens the intention of God is to make a clear distinction between is people those that knows and serve him and the people of the world. Exo8:23 & Exo9:4-7

7) As those plagues were ravaging the Egyptians it never got to Goshen where the Israelites were resident. Exo9:26, Exo10:23, Exo11:7.

cool The Lord makes a mokery of every individual of Nation who does not fear him or does his biddings, Exo10:2

9)In the midst of this plagues God told the children of Israel to ask the Egyptians for articles of gold and silver and he caused the people who were under plague to favour the Israelites. Exo9 11:2-3.

10) God does this to execute judgement against the gods of the land.Exo12:12

11) Finally the destruction of the Egyptian was what led to the deliverance of the Isrealites, it also led to the enrichment or wealth of the Isrealites. Exo12:36, 37.

In conclusion what is happening around the world is not for your destruction and you need to be properly positioned because God is shaking the powers and systems of the world and he wants to hand over power, wealth and position to his children.

After these all plagues; power will change hand, wealth will change hand and positions will also change hand.

Wait on God and tell him to speak to you on what to do to take advantage of these season.

Health / How To Make Cheap Hand Sanitizer Against Coronavirus by gimmehear(f): 6:46pm On Mar 16, 2020
How to make cheap hand sanitizer against coronavirus

I have read articles on how people from various country are complaining about how they don’t have access to hand sanitizer because it is expensive, or because supermarket are being closed down.

Hand sanitizer
Then I thought of it this way, do people actually know they can make sanitizer at home -you can have your home made sanitizer at a lower price or almost at no cost at all.

The vinegar solution.

Vinegar is very acidic; most virus and bacterial can not survive acidic environment and this justify the reason it was stated that you should drink water immediately you feel you throat is dried and you suspect you might have contacted ; this is because the stomach is acidic and most bacterial and virus except pylori bacterial can’t survive in the stomach.

Get a bottle of Vinegar which mostly go for N100 in most supermarket, get some hand sanitizer bottle, plus you can add liquid soap in order to turn it into antiseptic hand wash.

This is very cheap and I’m sure you can get it. In fact, you can decide to use only vinegar as your sanitizer, just ensure the Vinegar is made from consumable source to avoid any gastrointestinal issues should in case you lick your mouth.

The Lemon solution /lime solution.

If you are someone like me who love the fresh fragrance of citrus family; you might then want to go for the lemon solution, but then if you have problem with your hand becoming sticky you might just go for lime.

Get some lime/lemon ,cut and squeeze into a sanitizer bottle, apply little on your hand and rub at every you find it suitable; plus you can add little detergent or liquid soap to make it antiseptic hand wash.

People with highly sensitive skin can add a cap of essential oil to the lime /lemon hand sanitizer.

And there too go.

Also, I know some people ain’t in area they can get all of the above mentioned solution but you have access to ethanol, Ethanol will do the same thing Vinegar will do, though you need to be very; avoid inhaling anything you use.

Though below is another way to make hand sanitizer, this can be done industrially.
Below is the World Health Organization’s standard recipe so you can do it if you can’t buy or find
1. Get a 1.5L empty clean water bottle
2. Get 31.2mls of Hydrogen Peroxide and pour it into the bottle.
3. Add 22mls of the Glycerin in Rose Water into it.
4. Add 1.25L of the Methylated Spirit into it.
5. Finally, make the volume to the 1.5L mark of the bottle (i.e 203ml of the water)
5. Shake very well and label it as Hand Sanitizer and then you can dispense.
Now, you have your Hand-rub or Sanitizer to use.
Thanks and I hope it helps.

Pastor Veronica : God sent me to sleep with all men for fertility

She said that her mission on earth is to cure fertility problems in men and once any of them sleeps with her and her body fluid touches his cucumber that such a man will be healed of his fertility problem. She went ahead to give her phone number so that any man with such a problem can contact her for a session.

She took to her Facebook page to write the message, see her message below:

Her mission on earth according to her is to cure men of their infertility problem through sleeping with them, Pastor Veronica also said that each session must not last more than 2 minutes.

In recent news, an indigene of Cross River State cries out on how her pastor deceived her to be sleeping with him every Sunday morning before going to church.

Imaobong which according to her said she was ignorant of what she was doing. She said the senior pastor of redemption house in Calabar, prophet Peter Bassey has been sleeping with her every morning before going to preach in church.

According to her, the pastor told her that it was an instruction from God to be sleeping with her female members before he Climbs the altar to preach, the young woman said she is not the only one the pastor sleeps with, in the church, but she is the only person that has the courage to speak out.

Politics / NSA Monguno Declares War On Abba Kyari over inappropriate decision by gimmehear(f): 7:18pm On Feb 17, 2020
Monguno fires Abba Kyari’s staffs over wrong directives

Nigeria’s national security adviser, Babagana Monguno, has accused President Mohammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, of undue and dangerous interference on matters bordering on national security.

Consequently, Mr Monguno has fired a warning memo to all service chiefs to desist from taking further directives from Mr Kyari, according to documents seen by PREMIUM TIMES.

Mr Monguno said Mr Kyari’s directives to service chiefs were sometimes issued without the knowledge much less approval of the president, a practice he said has added to government’s failure to contain insecurity.

“Chief of staff to the president is not a presiding head of security, neither is he sworn to an oath of defending the country,” Mr Monguno, a retired major-general, said in the December 9, 2019, letter.

“As such, unprofessional practices such as presiding over meetings with service chiefs and heads of security organisations as well as ambassadors and high commissioners to the exclusion of the NSA and/or supervising ministers are a violation of the Constitution and directly undermine the authority of Mr President.

“Such acts and continues meddlesomeness by chief of staff have not only ruptured our security an defence efforts, but have slowed down any meaningful gain that Mr President has sought to achieve.”

Mr Monguno’s letter comes as insecurity returns to centre stage as a major cause for worry among Nigerians.

Violent attacks linked to bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers and vandals have continued to claim multiple lives and properties across the country.

The president has repeatedly promised to curb the crises, many of which he met in office, but has largely failed like his predecessors.

Security experts, opposition and federal lawmakers have responded by advising the president to fire his service chiefs.

The service chiefs have been unable to rein in Boko Haram insurgents since 2015 when Mr Buhari named them to take charge of various arms of the nation’s security architecture.

While previously held swathes of land have been taken back from terrorists, deadly attacks on civilians and military targets have worsened since 2018.

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, said in recent media interviews that the military has degraded insurgents’ capacity to attack Abuja and other cities outside the war-ravaged northeast.

National security sources told PREMIUM TIMES on Monday that the fresh memo showed how Mr Kyari has helped in keeping the service chiefs in office despite overwhelming call for their ouster.

It also underscored the frustration faced by Mr Monguno and others who found Mr Kyari’s influence over the president too domineering for national benefit, sources said.

Mr Kyari and two presidential spokespersons, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu, did not return requests for comments about the memo Monday afternoon.

Read below the full content of Mr Monguno’s letter, which was copied to the president and ministers for foreign affairs, defence, interior, police affairs and Mr Kyari himself.

A. SH/COS/46/2/1429 dated 13 September 2019

B. SH/COS/26/5/A/2609 dated 26 November 2019

References A and B were sent in response to the request for presidential intervention to sustain internal security operations of the police within the shortest possible time. However the contents of the 2 references were in variance with Mr President’s verbal directives.

Consequently, ONSA scrutinized the documents further and sought clarification from Mr President who has directed that Reference B be disregarded by all parties as it was sent without his endorsement.

2. While it is expected that all heads of security agencies, having spent many years in service would understand means of passing directives from the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, it may be necessary to remind all, in the face of glaring breaches to that procedure.

For clarification, other than direct verbal directives from the President, written directives emanating from Mr President would be conveyed with a copy of his manuscript directive or at minimum, bear his signature.

Additionally, Mr President may convey directives to the heads of defence and security apparatus through the NSA who chairs the Intelligence Community Committee, Joint Intelligence Board and General Security Appraisal Committee on behalf of the President and the supervising ministers of defence and security agencies.

It should be noted that the Chief of Staff to the President does not direct security apparatus of the Federal Republic of Nigeria — his job as it relates to security stops at conveying Mr President’s written directives.

3. Similarly, you are reminded that the Chief of Staff to the President is not a presiding head of security, neither is he sworn to an oath of defending the country.

As such, unprofessional practices such as presiding over meetings with service chiefs and heads of security organisations as well as ambassadors and high commissioners to the exclusion of the NSA and/or supervising ministers are a violation of the Constitution and directly undermine the authority of Mr President.

Such acts and continuous meddlesomeness by the Chief of Staff have not only ruptured our security and defence efforts but have slowed down any meaningful gain that Mr President has sought to achieve.

4. As professionals, you are aware that the security of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requires concerted and centralized effort taking into account internal, external and diplomatic factors.

It is therefore detrimental to our collective security that the Chief of Staff who is a non-supervising minister holds meetings with diplomats, security chiefs and heads of agencies.

5. Pursuant to the foregoing, you are by this letter directed to desist from these illegal acts that serve nothing but the continuous undermining of our national security framework. Any breach of this directive will attract displeasure of Mr President.

Politics / Governor Wike Calls On Oshiomhole To Resign From His Post by gimmehear(f): 7:54pm On Feb 15, 2020
Governor Wike calls on Oshiomhole to resign from his post

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) Adams Oshiomhole and his associates came from a background of Armed Robbers to steal the mandate of Rivers people, but were strongly resisted, hence Oshiomhole’s bitterness towards Rivers State.

Governor Wike who stated that he is not a violent politician, emphasised that under no circumstances would Rivers people allow Oshiomhole and his associates rob Rivers mandate.

The Rivers State Governor called for the resignation of Adams Oshiomhole in view of his failure to stop the inauguration of Bayelsa State Governor as he boasted.

He spoke in an interview at the Government House Port Harcourt on Saturday.

He said: “This is a country where you see people who do not have character. Today they sing a song, tomorrow they sing another song. I think Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress PC is not a character that anybody should associate with.

“First of all I have never been violent and I will never be violent. However, when you see an armed robber come to your house, will you plead with the armed robber and say please I beg you leave my house. People think that armed robbers are only those who cart away people’s money. The worst form of armed robbery is when you steal peoples mandate and just like what Oshiomhole is noted for. He thinks because he’s in the ruling party, he can use security to steal the mandate of the people. He was taught a lesson, a bitter lesson and I want to repeat, if you come to steal our mandate, the people will respond accordingly. They will oppose your stealing of their mandate and so Oshiomhole thinks that because he is in the ruling party nobody should say anything or do anything. Stealing is not only when you go to rob a bank. The worse form of armed robbery is when you steal the mandate of the people. ”

Governor Wike described Oshiomhole as a politician without character. He noted that the APC National Chairman is always driven by survival instincts.

He stated that Oshiomhole cannot lay claim to having canvassed for one man, one vote because he is not practising the philosophy.

He noted that he stopped attending the National Economic Council because Oshiomhole turned it into a forum to bash Former President Goodluck Jonathan, when he had gone to praise Jonathan at Aso Villa for ensuring credible elections.

“When Jonathan made sure the election was free and fair, Oshiomhole came to the villa and thanked Jonathan. When Jonathan left office, one of the reason why I don’t go to NEC meeting is because of Oshiomhole. When he was a member. When Jonathan left, there was no day at the NEC meeting Oshiomhole will not bring Jonathan down. Meanwhile, that was the same man Oshiomhole went to praise for allowing one man one vote. But when the man left, Oshiomhole changed. That is his character,” he said.

Governor Wike said that Oshiomhole became Governor through questionable means. He noted that the questionable emergence of Oshiomhole led to constitutional amendment for Governorship Matters to terminate at the Supreme Court.

He said: “Nigerians know one matter that led to the amendment of the electoral act where Governorship election has to go to the Supreme Court is because of the Oshiomhole matter . So he cannot come out and say he was clean in terms of Electoral process. That will be very bad.

Oshiomhole said he fought godfatherism and the same time he wants to install himself as a godfather in Edo state. Why is he fighting Obaseki , because the man doesn’t take instruction from him. He preaches what he doesn’t practice. ”

The Rivers State Governor maintained that Oshiomhole lacks the powers to challenge the pronouncement of the Supreme Court.

Governor Wike said that Oshiomhole’s talk questioning his membership of PDP is the unintelligent talk of an illiterate. Governor Wike declared that he is a strong and unrepentant member of the PDP.

He said that he speaks out his mind at all times does not mean that his membership of PDP is in doubt . Governor Wike said that he is not at the same level with Oshiomhole. He noted that what Oshiomhole is doing is to regain the confidence of APC Governors and leaders.

He said: “I will not be a member of their party, I have always been a member of PDP and they know that. Oshiomhole knows that his party does not even score up to 25 percent in my state. He cannot not tell me that . There is a saying in my place. Somebody who has nothing to say ,he says see how you are. So Oshiomhole has nothing to say about me. And I want to tell him that his party is probing him about the so called hospital he says he built. I am not the one.

“So he should face his problems but Shame should be on him that at the end of the day that the PDP Candidate has been sworn in as the governor of Bayelsa state. You can’t come out and open your mouth and say it will never happen . Now it has happened.

“If I were him I will resign, I will leave. I am not his friend , so he cannot say my friend.

How can I be a friend to somebody who will say one thing today , tomorrow he says another thing. In the night he visits so so person, that’s not me. When I want to see you, I see you in the day time. Oshiomhole visits people at night. It is very very unfortunate for him and I pity him. All his efforts to regain his chairmanship has failed.

“All he is doing today is because the governors and some leaders of the party are saying that this man cannot lead our party. Oshiomhole has failed. He is a man who opens his mouth anyhow. . And this should be his last time, the moment he goes further then he will know that Rivers state is not what he thinks it is.

We will tell him where he belongs. I will tell him where he goes in the night, and where he goes in the day time.”

Governor Wike said the former unionist was very corrupt, as he used proceeds from workers to build his political career.

He said: “Oshiomhole claimed he was a unionist. He said he worked in the textile industry. Mention one man who works in the textile industry and is as rich as Oshiomhole today. He used to wear ordinary Khaki, today he wears Safari with diamond buttons. Simply because I said Oshiomhole cannot destabilize this country, who the hell is Oshiomhole to say that nobody can be sworn in when the Supreme Court court has made a pronouncement whether good or bad. ”

On Oshiomhole’s parable that he (Oshiomhole) is an antelope, while Governor Wike is a tortoise, the Rivers State Governor stated that his pedigree and education are beyond the embattled APC National Chairman.

He said: ”

“It’s unfortunate that Oshiomhole will use that word to say a tortoise challenging an Antelope. Its like saying in a country where Chimpanzee can be anything. How can Oshiomhole compare himself to me. I’m well read. I am lawyer. I am a life bencher. I have my first degree in Political Science and my second degree in Law and I went to the Nigerian law school and I passed very well, Let Oshiomhole tell me which University he attended. As a unionist, he enriched himself. How did he become the Governor of Edo State, who doesn’t know? It’s just the country that we are in people who cannot boast of any certificate can be National Chairman. Let Oshiomhole tell me one University he attended. I attended the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State University and served in old Gongola State.

“How dare he open his mouth and called himself an Antelope. Oshiomhole has become an Antelope because he is the National Chairman of a ruling party, Its now a ruling party because they told Nigerian lies. Let Oshiomhole come out and tell us his background except that he became a Governor through a dubious way and that was what led to the amendment of the electoral act that says Governorship matter in terms of the election will not end at the Court of Appeal but will get to the Supreme court. I have become a Local Government Chairman, Chief of Staff, a Minister and a Governor and by the Grace of God a second time serving Governor.

“Oshiomhole has the audacity to say nobody will be sworn in In Bayelsa state causing crisis in the country and nobody wants to call him to order but for people like us in Rivers State . Because of people like Oshiomhole and his style of leadership, his party lost so many areas they ought not to have lost. What made them not to have candidates in Rivers State and Zamfara, its because of Oshiomhole. Oshiomhole led to the problem they have in Bayelsa. Oshiomhole take from two sides. He is not a man of integrity and nobody should take him seriously.”

Governor Wike added: “It is not my position to say it is right or wrong but Oshiomhole cannot open his wide mouth to say it cannot never happen and now it has happened what will he do? Don’t destabilize the country. Don’t cause crisis for this country. You may be closer to the President and that is not the way to retain your position as Chairman of the party because Oshiomhole doesn’t have the support of most of the Governors because of his style of leadership and it is very clear so Oshiomhole doesn’t have the right to tell me that I am a man of violence.

Oshiomhole came from the background of an armed robber to steal the vote of Rivers people and we defended our vote and Oshiomhole is ashamed that we defended our vote and we still defend our vote till tomorrow. Rivers State is not like his State Edo where he can talk to anybody the way he likes. This should be the last time, Oshiomhole should open his mouth and talk to anybody in Rivers State, we are not at the same level in terms of Education. Rivers State is not like Edo state where you bring down a sitting Governor because he wants to install another Governor.it depends on the people of Edo State to allow that , but for Rivers State we not allow anybody who wants to be a godfather.”

Crime / Assaulting Amotekun Officer Will Attract N250, 000 Fine Or Jail by gimmehear(f): 7:58am On Feb 12, 2020
Assaulting Amotekun Officer will attract N250, 000 fine or jail

Assaulting an Amotekun officer will attract a fine of N250,000 or a prison term of one month or both.

However, an Amotekun officer cannot be sued for whatever he does in the course of duty but only what he does in his personal capacity.

This is according to the Ekiti State Security Network Agency Bill 2020 which has been submitted to the Ekiti State House of Assembly.

Other South-West governors have submitted similar bills to their respective houses of assembly.

Amotekun officer
Section 36 of the bill states, “Any person who wilfully hinders, delays, obstructs or assaults a member of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps in the course of the exercise of his lawful duties under this law shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of one month or to a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty thousand naira only (N250,000.00) or to both such fine and imprisonment.”

The bill further states that the security organisation must be headed by a retired law enforcement agent who is not lower than the rank of Major or its equivalent in any other security agency.

Section 14 reads in part, “There shall be appointed by the governor, a corps commander for the agency, who shall be a retired law enforcement officer or military officer not below the rank of a major or its equivalent in other security services.

“The corps commander shall be a person with at least 10 years cognate experience in security matters; (b) be responsible for the day-to-day running of the affairs of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps and implementation of the decisions of the board; (c) hold meetings with his counterparts in other states, particularly Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Osun and Oyo states on a quarterly basis or as may be collectively determined by the corps commanders in those dates.”

The bill also provides for the establishment of an Amotekun board which is expected to meet not less than four times a year.

The bill will comprise the Commissioner of Police in the state and representatives of other military representatives.

Section 6 reads in part, “There is established for the agency a governing board (referred to in this law as the board). The board shall comprise: a chairman, who shall be a person of proven integrity with experience in security matters and shall be a retired law enforcement or military officer not below the rank of a Major or its equivalent in the other security services; the commissioner of police in the state or his/her representative; one member representing the different services of the Armed Forces of Nigeria operating in the state; the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state or his/her representative; the Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Security Trust Fund or his/her representative; one representative each of the Community Development Associations drawn from the three senatorial zones the state; the Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers or his representative; the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps Commander.”

Rich in essential omega-3 fatty acids, walnuts are a good source of these healthy fats which not only help lower your cholesterol levels and reduce your risk of heart attack, but also plays a part in boosting your sex drive. This is because these fatty acids help boost arginine, an amino acids that releases blood vessels and improve circulation for arousal.

Watermelon contains citrulline, which help in relaxation of muscles and improves arousal.
