sonOfLucifer:Although I don't like your name, truth be told, for the most part of your post, you are not far from the truth. But their is no tribe in spirituality - God does not have tribe. Neither are angels/demons/spirits and other entities. We as humans need to communicate with God. Unfortunately, their is no other way to do that other than our languages (local/tribal/int'l) The fact that I use english to talk to God does not make God an english being. Same goes for other languages. In fact I am more confortable talking to Allah in english And he answers my prayers. Same applies to an Igbo guy who may prefer to talk to Yahweh in english. And yaweh or Jehova answers his prayers. Does that also make Yahweh an english being? So God cannot be tribal. On the topic. I don't know how he arrived at that decision. But the report suggest that he single handedly branded the country an islamic nation like a military dictator. Although the western press are very good mass programming propaganda (and as such the motive cannot always be trusted) Africa leaders are often very silly in their actions and decisions. How do you just change to being an islamic nation just because of population ration? |
No be small thing |
One1deen:Don't waste your precious time and energy on people that have already made up their minds. Typically, I don't post bible verses because it is unproductive and silly to say the least. People are not likely to change their opinion on these types of topics no matter the amount of verses you post. They have silly ready-made answers like you don't have the divine spirit in you and the bible is filled with parables so you can't understand. As if they are the only ones that have divine spirit in them and they are the only wise ones. All other books can just be picked, read a few verses in isolation and of course you will understand - you don't need wisdom and divine guidance to understand those Quranic verses that are read in isolation (it is only the bible that has that requirement and they are the only one that determines who meets it) I deviated from my usual practice because someone made a silly statement (that there are no terror verses in NT) and I felt compelled to set the record straight because you never know who will read this thread in future. People are generally lazy and they will just take that statement as the truth without any attempt to verify that statement - so I decided to post just a few. And as expected, I got the standard boring, silly template of not having holy spirit in me and I can't understand (what is written in simple english) |
freshvine:Una no dey hear word? I said pls save us your ranting explanations. Or na so e pain you reach to reopen this thread? You people never wanted to hear other peoples' explanations. Why should you bore anyone with yours. If all those verses were from Quran (or other religious book) you would have been shouting and happy to feast on it without giving the smallest thought to the possibility of quoting the book out of contest. First you people said no terror verse in the New testament and even the old testament (where the bulk of despicable verses are) have been superseded by "the grace" in the NT. But when just a few similar terror verses are pointed out from the so called grace-filled NT, you change gear to the bible is filled with parables and others need special divine knowledge to understand. As if the other religious texts are not sometimes in parables too and also require special divine understanding (which your brothers and sisters didn't bother to seek before castigating others). Christians are like the Quran is filled with terror verses but there are just a few bad words in the bible (OT/NT) and you need special divine knowledge to understand - sheer hypocrisy. I repeat, terrorists are in every religion and every nation of this planet. The more you close your eyes to terror acts of your brethren and white supremacist master, the more injustice you do to their victims and by extension putting more lives in danger. |
I suggest you better look for another job elsewhere because if this is how your boss reason, you people may close shop sooner than you think. Ministers appointed and doing their work and someone is saying Nigeria closing shop. Oil vessels are on the high sea with extremely little buyers and add the fact that the oil price is down, yet you boss thinks getting stolen funds (in billions of dollars) to beef up the country's financial strength is a waste of energy. Are the ministers not working? The other day Fashola gave a presentation just as the minister of finance is embarking on an ambitious revenue drive |
Johnnyessence:Yes May God help us all. Especially in this age of media-conditioning that has blinded so many people. For example, Have you noticed how CNN and Al jazeera portray the crises news they cover (especially CNN) They show the funeral of an Israeli soldier murdered in Palestine; they'll show the wife; the 2-yr old kid and weeping mother. You'll be hard-pressed and must be a devil incarnate not to feel for the supposed poor family. What they didn't tell you is that he was killed in another man's country while terrorizing them on their land. But, when it comes to the victims in Palestine, the story goes like . . . 6 brothers of the same family were killed by IDF airstrike..... meaning, they are reduced to numbers. You feel no attachment to them because they are just numbers - No face, no wife, no kid, no wailing mother. if they ever show old women crying, it will be in groups and not really associated with a particular victim unlike the Israeli soldier. Hence, by the style of reporting both sides of the story, they get into your subconscious mind and control you in a very stealthy way but powerfully effective way. SAME GOES FOR Al Jazeera!! Just reverse the scenario/story. |
Csami:Let me help you a little. forget about the crusade. Like you said, that happened over two centuries ago. I will give a few examples of terrorist acts by christians in this age of coloured television and mobile phone - those that you have chosen to ignore (though many times unintentionally due to brainwashing by mainstream media) 1. In Feb 2010, Joseph Andrew Stack flew his single engine plane into an Austin building that housed IRS offices. Stack and an IRS manager were killed and 13 others were injured. Before he carried out his attack he left a long rant about the IRS and politicians online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Austin_suicide_attack 2. in 2009, Shawna Forde (yes a woman), orchestrated the home invasion murders of a 9-year-old Latina girl and her father in their home. MAD is a violent anti-immigrant group that operates along the Mexican-American border. 3. On August 5, 2012, a massacre took place at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, where 40-year-old Wade Michael Page fatally shot six people and wounded four others.[3][4] Page committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after he was shot in the stomach by a responding police officer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin_Sikh_temple_shooting 4. On May 31, 2009, George Tiller, a physician from Wichita, Kansas, who was nationally known for being one of the few doctors in the United States to perform late-term abortions, was murdered by Scott Roeder. Tiller was killed during a Sunday morning service at his church, Reformation Lutheran Church, where he was serving as an usher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_George_Tiller I didn't want to include these last two but it will be a great injustice if they don't make the list 5. Army of God The earliest documented incidence of the Army of God being involved with anti-abortion activity occurred in 1982. Three men associated with the organization kidnapped Hector Zevallos, a doctor who performed abortions, and his wife, Rosalee Jean, and held them hostage. The hostages were later released unharmed.[2] The "East Coast division" of the AOG claimed responsibility when three men, including Michael Bray, planted bombs at seven abortion clinics in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. in 1985.[3] The AOG claimed responsibility for Eric Robert Rudolph's 1997 nail bombing of abortion clinics in Atlanta and Birmingham as well as an Atlanta lesbian bar.[4] Clayton Waagner, claiming to act on the part of the "Virginia Dare Chapter" of the AOG, mailed over 500 letters containing white powder to 280 abortion providers in 2001. The letters claimed that the powder was anthrax; though it was not identified as such, the tactic took advantage of the public's fear of biological warfare after the recent real anthrax attacks.[5][6] The group is also associated with a number of abortion clinic bombings, arsons and murders of abortion providers. Some of these murderers claimed association with the AOG; in other cases, while the killers expressed no affiliation with the group, the AOG has lionized their acts and taken up their cause https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_God_(United_States) 6. Eastern Lightning n 1998 members of the church triggered eight riots which lasted for twelve days in Hetang county, Henan. They reportedly broke the arms and legs, and cut the ears off their victims.[13] In 2010 members killed an elementary school student, leaving a lightning-like mark on one of the victim's feet.[13] The police investigation revealed that the boy was killed because one of his relatives, a member of the church, expressed his desire to quit.[13] In 2012 the church was found to be behind more than 40 riots caused by spreading doomsday rumors and distributing propaganda material.[13] Also in 2012 Ming Yongjun, who said he was motivated by the doomsday prophecies of the church, stabbed an elderly woman and 23 students at a school in Henan province.[13] In August 2013 members of the church in Shanxi pulled out the eyes of a boy because his family tried to leave the religion.[21] On May 28, 2014, six members of the Eastern Lightning sparked a national outcry when they attacked and killed a woman at a McDonald's restaurant in Zhaoyuan, Shandong (招远), a city in Shandong Province of China.[9][22] During an interview with a CCTV journalist, Lidong Zhang (张立冬), the lead attacker, claimed that the subject rejected his daughter's request for her phone number and was called a "devil" (邪灵), which prompted the six members to attack. Zhang described in detail how they kept stamping the victim's head to the ground for about three minutes, and that "he felt great", but he deliberately avoided questions on the organization and his rank within the religious group.[23][24][25] Five of them were convicted and on October 10, two were sentenced to death and later executed,[26] one to life imprisonment, and the other two to 7 and 10 years in prison.[27] On an unknown date, a follower of Eastern Lightning killed her father before calmly turning herself in to the Public Security Bureau https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Lightning |
NigLasPresident:Nope! I believe their is just one Oslo terrorist by the name Anders Behring Breivik. Checkout his wikipedia page

gcof:God bless you for this statement! Set religion sentiments aside and you will see that terrorism is a world problem and not a religious problem. Now it will be fo0lish of me to say some derange people with islamic names are not involved in terrorism. But to limit terrorism to only muslims is like spiting on the graves of the over 70 victims of Oslo shooting in Norway; The 9 black Africans that died in St Emmanuel Church; The 1000s of muslims that were killed in Bosnia and many more killings by non muslims around the world. Simply because those killers are not muslims doesn't mean the lives of the victims doesn't count. Condemn all acts of terrorism and device ways to nip them ALL in the bud before they strike. You never know whose life you are putting in danger by looking the other way when the assailant is not an arab or a black man. |
gcof:Why ask me? Am I the one that did the research? I suggest you direct that question to the FBI - they are the ones that did the findings. You may also want to listen to Trevor Aaronson on the TED talk. https://www.ted.com/talks/trevor_aaronson_how_this_fbi_strategy_is_actually_creating_us_based_terrorists?language=en |
gcof:In other words you are saying FBI that conducted the research are ignorant/incompetent and you are the one with the correct stats. Speechless!! |
Lucasbalo:At least you make some sense jare. BUT I dare say religion itself is not the problem but man's interpretation of religion. |
Amberon:Dylann Roof - the guy who killed 9 christians while in their church is not a terrorist abi? Because he is not a muslim so he can't/shouldn't be tagged a terrorist abi? Abeg I won go sleep. Lots of senseless posts. |
Amberon:Absolutely correct!! I mean, like a pastor who obviously has given his life but still build private schools (from the church members' offering/tithe) with school fees well above the reach of average church member. Similarly, the private jet pastors going around the world spreading the word while the local members leave in poverty. These clergies don't need to account for their deeds because the have given their lives to christ and so they will be saved by grace- abi? SMH |
gcof:Ignorance is a disease. Educate yourself in order to know your true enemy. A canadian site presented a research done by FBI just recently and concluded Non-Muslims Carried Out More than 90% of All Terrorist Attacks in America. You are being brainwashed by the mainstream media. Do yourself a facour, de-programme your brain! http://www.globalresearch.ca/non-muslims-carried-out-more-than-90-of-all-terrorist-attacks-in-america/5333619 In fairness, even some aspects of mainstream media has published this information: Study: Threat of Muslim-American terrorism in U.S. exaggerated http://edition.cnn.com/2010/US/01/06/muslim.radicalization.study/ 10 Non-Islamic Terrorist Organisations http://www.wonderslist.com/10-non-islamic-terrorist-organisations/ Dfinex:Just a simple question and may God bless you if you are sincere enough to answer this question honestly: Did you beg God for devine understanding when you qouted the Quran?
|
freshvine:I didn't want to say anything on this thread until I read your post. Trust me, I am not doing this to make you convert as you said. I am only doing this to help you in eradicating your ignorance so you won't talk carelessly in future - especially in public forum. So, here are just a few to wet your appetite: Matt. 3:12 (Jesus referring to the Pharisees and Sadducees i.e people) And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. What would have said if the Quran said pluck off your eye in order to enter heaven. Here is what Jesus said IN NEW TESTAMENT Matt. 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Matt. 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. I know you believe the Quran was spread by the power of the sword. But here is what the Bible says again in the New testament Matthew 10:34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Lets move over to Corinthians 1 Corinthians 15:24 [Jesus] will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. 15:25 For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. Micah 15:5 I will execute vengeance in anger and fury on the heathen, such as they have not heard. Romans 13:1-4 God has allowed for just wars throughout the history of His people. From Abraham to Deborah to David, God’s people have fought as instruments of judgment from a righteous and holy God. I am also sure you critisize islam for marginalising women. Let's turn to the New testament book of 1 Timothy 2:12 But i suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence (their is another translation that said women MUST BE IN SILENCE And finally (at least for now) Luke 19:27 But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and kill them in my presence. BUT WAIT!!! Before you click the reply link, PLEASE don't bother to explain these verse BECAUSE YOU DID NOT ALLOW MUSLIMS to explain their verses too. So save your explanations since you didn't care about ours ![]() |
destinstion2016:I agree with virtually all of your points. But the fact is that the Nigerian army's capacity is lean right now. And coupled with the low crude oil price, it may not be a wise idea to start a war on another front at this time. i dare say this is the same wisdom that America is using with Iran (with Russia and China flexing muscles, it will be stup!d to give Iran every reason to fuel the machinery of China and Russia with Iranian oil - but this is based just my thought). Surely, like you said, nobody is greater that the country and in the long run Tompolo and his baggas will still fall to the might of the Nigerian army. But the question is at what cost? At this time when many of the governors are suggesting what we are producing now cannot pay the minimum wage, are we prepared to experience another round of production cuts and its consequences? Nobody is more powerful than the nation, but WISDOM is more powerful than brute force. I suggest EFCC take things in phases so they don't bite more than they can chew at a time. Tompolo must be tried but at the right time (maybe after the threats from boko has been reduced to the minimum) |
Much as I want (we need) all those who sucked this nation tried and jailed, I hope PMB/EFCC will not bite too much at a time to chew. |
ifyan:And What is my business with black market? If you have genuine need for forex, there are legal ways to do that and you will get the real official rate |
modath:Yeah thanks for that correction. I completely forgot! |
That must be your Biafran dollar. My Nigerian Naira has selling below N200/$ Even that is as a result of the last clueless administration who inherited the dollar at N160 but left it at over N200/$ Other than the civil war, GEJ admin is the worst thing to happen to this country in recent memory
|
What a career this man has enjoyed. For serving the country for so long I am tempted to say he deserves a national award. I know the young NL kids born in the late 80s and 90s will not understand, but trust me this man deserves it. |
Ogbeche77:I thought so too oo. I even had to check his previous posts to reconfirm. Good to know sha - in politics their should be no permanent enemy or friend - only permanent interest |
The blood of the innocents and that of the brave soldiers that died as a result of lack of military hardware for our army is calling for nemesis. One cannot plant corn and expect to harvest cocoa. Whatsoever one sows so call he reap. |
What I know is if my secondary school geography serves me right is that the radius of the planet is 64,000km i.e the radius of our dear earth is just 64,000km. I will not say more than that for now ![]() |
aguiyi:Mr wise. so the one you quoted (which I have generously highlighted for you) is librating abi. Keep fo0ling yourself or is it that you don't understand english enough to know what "to be in silence" mean. |
That is what prejudice can do to a man. People just hate fellow humans without knowing the person they're hating. And worst still without making efforts to know more about the person they hate with passion. Some pramksters did a survey and posted on youtube. How do people react to Bible passages when they think they're from the Qur'an? These Dutch pranksters asked members of the public what they thought of some 'shocking' verses from the Islamic holy book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEnWw_lH4tQ I read somewhere that a man admitted to have felt studp!d when he realized 1 Timothy 2:12 (which is in new testament by the way) practically takes the freedom of speech away from women and he had been criticizing Islam for oppressing women. |
Suddenly Al Jazeera is now a credile news source. But when it comes to other issues they remember its an arabic station from the pit of hell. Oh BTW, I thought the director said you people should kill/destroy anything that has to do with .......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1NToNFAsLg |
at least the op is sincere enough to show the chart for previous years. So nigeria has been a "failed state" since 2008 and were made to believe we made "giant" stride during gej admin. must have been giant strides in failures ![]() |
I voted PMB just for 2-point agenda - reduce corruption and end insurgency. He seems to be doing well on both fronts. But i want these ba$dards tried and if found guilty executed with a RPG. |
I am not defending APC, but nothing in that video suggests the thug is working for APC. He only gave the nickname of his boss as Africa. Except you know who his boss is. |
Speechless!! The people should be made to be breathless. |
