I smell jealousy and hatred.
Those states the op compared with Lagos, how many of them face the same challenge that Lagos faces everyday?
From population, to land shortage to traffic, to waste management

Deal with it. Lagos out shine every other in all areas.
It has nothing to do with media. Which media was in Cross Rivers when Duke was there. The truth is Success shines through easily in the midst of mediocre just like light shine through in darkness.

Improved dramatically our infrastructure and power generation output

Rolled out the most successful agricultural subsidy

Financed the forex market adequately that for most parts of his 6yr rule , the naira remained relatively stable. The estimate is that well over $100bn was sold to banks in 6yrs to float the import based economy.

But you won't see this .

Pathetic. Very silly excuses
Boko Haram still chased Nigerian army to cameroon.
How much was spent on amesty that he couldn't save when the country earned the highest revenue ever.
As if he was the first to increase he minimum wage. Didn't the OBJ administration also increased wages and still left good saving
oil subsidy only became unbearably expensive when the only Ineffectual buffon took over.
Which Infrastructure are you referring to? I hope you're not talking about airport remodelling, railways and 25000km of roads.
He stabilized the forex yet the dollar was pegged artificailly at N199/$ under his watch.

Let us even assume he did all these, the money the country earned was more than enough to do twice what you listed and still have good savings. I can't imagine BH chasing NA to cameroon if the $2b was used appropriately.

Somebody should help us ask madam if uncle gej the only IB had the political will to save FG's share of the money.
Why is madam so concerned about governor's political unwillingness to save their money?
Can she tell us as the economic and coordinating minister how FG (which she as part of) demonstrated political willingness to save. After all, we know FG under her guidance borrowed money to pay salaries.

Didn't you get the gist of girl that was given explosive to kill innocent people but instead ran away from the crowd and detonated the explosive - thus killing herself alone?
A young girl strapped with explosives and sent to a crowded mosque this week, made a detour and running away to kill only herself. This recent act of bravely by the young girl has added fuel to the belief that Boko Haram are using unwilling captives in its terror campaign in northeast Nigeria.

As much as I would have loved to, I'd be very careful with that decision
It sends dangerous signals to all.
The terrorists will be feel like that is a good negotiating tool. So they may be considering more kidnapping for exchange in future.
And there are those evil ones who just want to bring this government down no matter how noble gesture taken and no matter how sincere the government is. Their army of doom will immediately jump on it and say PMB is freeing his BH brothers to advance the islamization agenda.

But I agree the girls URGENTLY needs to be reunited with their families. I guess governance is like a "board game" - where all the options are clear and all the options have consequences.

May God lead them in making the best choice.

PoliticsRe: Why I Think Voting For Buhari Was Inevitable - Olufunke Phillips by gists:
Don't get it twisted lol.
If the election were to be repeated today between GEJ and PMB, I will still vote for PMB.

I have said it looong before the election that all I want from PMB is restore security and reduce corruption (note I didn't say eliminate). So far he is doing a wonderful job. Although his score is dropping a bit because of the herdsmen attacks and militancy which he hasn't fully addressed.

Some of us never expected him to perform magic with the economy. Not after all that has been looted. All those who think PMB has failed are just plain ....... (fill in the gap)

You have a government that is short of revenue and is not borrowing recklessly like the other admin just to pay salary. And yet PMB is funding projects everywhere and you guys say he has failed. Is it the GEJ gov. that slashed the budget for the entire ministry of work to N11b.
And how on earth can you be singing and dancing because we were told we were the biggest economy in Africa merely after rebasing (recalculated) our economic indices. Although even as at that time, it was obvious that South Africa was and is still better in the other indices. When I said it way back in 2014 in the height of the euphoria of the false status, a UK report came out which kind of support my point:

Nigeria Ranked Least Prosperous Nation In The World
In spite of the new found status of Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa, the country has been ranked not only as one of the world’s least prosperous countries in 2014, but also one of Africa’s poorest nation beaten by smaller countries like Niger, Benin, Mali and Cameroun, an annual global prosperity survey released this week has said.

According to a report released by a UK based Legatum Institute, a research organization that documents annual prosperity indicators around the world, listed Nigeria as the 125th out of 142 countries surveyed.

Despite Nigeria’s acclaimed $510bn economy, the nation failed to make the list of Africa’s top 10 most prosperous countries, a league dominated hitherto by Botswana and South Africa.
http://leadership.ng/news/396558/nigeria-ranked-least-prosperous-nation-world-2
Now that eye don clear. Una now dey blame PMB.
For me I will still vote him if there is no better alternatives. And I don't see anyone in pdp right now or in the foreseeable future.

Grow up sir, is it 1994 in your calendar? If the economy was stable i dont thin anyone would bat an eye lid... but we are staring a recession in the face and this is how best to spend the scarce forex? anyway i am heading to the nearest bank on Monday to get me some forex and sell to the black market making a profit of over 100% so yeah!!!
Tundeiab:
I have 2 questions for you
- was Nigeria in recession then
- How much was the exchange rate then and how much was subsidized?
Are you people kidding me?
Have you guys been living in pluto or something?
Which economy was stable in 2015?
The Naira was pegged at 199 to a usd before the elections in 2015. As at that time the dollar was selling for like 230 in the black market. Is that a sign of stable econmoy? Knowing the evil that they have caused they told us through aunty Nogzi (NOI) that we should tighten our belt as they slam us with austerity in 2014. To you guys that is a sign of stable economy abi? There was nothing stable about the economy that was handed over to this administration. The more reason some of us have never asked PMB to work miracle. But we ask him to keep his promise on stopping wastages like this (be it muslim or christian pilgrimages). To make matters worse, even though the official rate for the naira was N199/usd, the exchange rate approved for pilgrims to Israel was N160/usd. That was at a time when the parallel market was selling usd for waaayyyy above N200. Yet you fanatics didn't put on your economic cap at that time.

So I maintain my point. Though I don't support it as I have clearly stated, I still say it is hypocritical to start crying wolf because it is now Hajj pilgrims. When the same WASTEFUL gesture was extended to christian pilgrims, you were all ok with it.
BusinessRe: Dollars To Hajj Pilgrims: CBN To Lose N7.6bn Tax Payers' Money - Nairametrics by gists: 5:25pm On Aug 05, 2016
First, it is hypocritical to lament about the amount of money being lost because of the subsidy for Hajj pilgrims even though you kept quiet when the Christian pilgrims were also subsidised by the same government last year.

But having said that, this government campaigned that they will stop wastages. What better/bigger example of wastage can you think of than subsidizing pilgrimage - be it muslims or christians. The money being used for this purpose will go a long way in solving some of our pressing needs.

We should always talk and speak out when the government does something wrong. It is very silly and childish (to say the least) when you speak only when it favour you or while trying to pull down the other. It reminds me of Jibrin and Dogara.

Hello all,
I have posted on this thread before.
I assume T-bills are much safer than regular stocks and definately safer than money sitting in an account.
That is the reason I am not taking a more serious look at Tbill now.
I have a very silly question but I hope someoe can tell me if this is possible or even necessary:

Suppose i approach my bank (lets say Skye bank) and I buy N2m worth of T-bills. At maturity, is it possible to divest to another bank (say GTB)?

Thanks in advance

Inconsistency is the trade mark of ipobs.
While their is absolutely wrong in Mr Obi's attendance of the Democrats convention, I find it amusing that the same ipobians that have been singing Donald Trump will win is now praising their son for attending the convention of the very opposing party of mr trump.

Anyway, we're used to it. From demanding biafra to complaining about lack of representation; they move to defend Ekweremadu in the forgery case even though they desperately want to leave Nigeria. They have even asked why political parties in Lagos have not deemed it fit to fill an Igbo candidate even though they boast they are the majority in Lagos and control virtually everything.

Mr. Obi will continue to enjoy himself because he knows most of his keen men (i.e ipobians) are not to be taken seriously. Only Ipobians are miscreants. I have not seen many well-to-do Igbos display such depth of shallowness in mentality
