Mack3N:Shameless wailer. Why did your gej not start the cleaning....... .......What am I even saying sef? The correct question is, why didn't your shameless son of the soil approve the implementation of the UNEP report - even if he knew he won't to implement it. Surely, as the president for 6 good yrs, he couldn't have been in a better position to at least approve the report even if it is just for political jamboree. |
Mack3N:Your own group of NDers should shut the fvckup and bury your head in shame. Your broda (the jesus of otueke) was the number 1 citizen of this country for 6 gud yrs but did not deem it fit to clean up your land. As if that is not bad enof, your own group of NDers did not see anything to ask for UNTIL a hausa fulani muslim (the group of people you all hate so much) came into power and set things in motion in less than 6months. Today the actual cleaning has started and you are here talkin nonsense. |
I can see some people are already getting scared. I can't wait for the diversification of power sources- the country will soon give them "their oyel". Little wonder they are saying no to an apparent excellent initiative from best governor of his generation ![]() The statement reiterated federal government’s commitment in diversifying its energy mix beyond traditional sources of gas, oil and Hydro to include nuclear and other renewable sources like solar, biomass and wind. |
Obama is just a US president and like the rest of them, what matters to him most is the protection of American interest in world politics. BUT IMHO, his style of leadership is something else. If for nothing else, compared with the Bush administration that wasted thousands of American lives in the Iraqi war and still didn't get any weapon of mass destruction while Alqaeda was waxing stronger, Obama was able to kill Osama bin Ladin without one American citizen being hurt (let alone killed). The world was not thrown into another round of economic recession like in the twilight days of the Bush administration. Unlike the Bush administration that was matching the deadly US army from one country to another thus racking up more enemies for the US, Obama is racking up more allies for the US. Even Iran is now partially on the side of US (although I suspect this was done to frustrate Russia and ISIS). To those Nigerian Christians who thinks this is a sad news because of their baseless support for Israel (which BTW is a Jewish state and not a christian state), this technically means their will be less tension between Israel and Iran. Just like their is no tension between Saudi and Israel (inspite of the fact that the two countries don't have diplomatic relations). Pardon my naivety, but I just don't see how two US allies will go up in arms against one another - particularly because NONE OF THE MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES CAN TAKE ANY INT'L MILITARY ACTION WITHOUT US BACKING. Finally, like our own dear millitary, the US army under Obama has "TECHNICALLY" defeated Al Qaeda - just like the Nigerian Army under PMB has "TECHNICALLY" defeated Boko Haram. This does not mean members of the two terror groups have been completely wiped out, but the fact remains that the threat they pose now is no where compared to what they used to pose before the two presidents assumed office. |
ckmayoca:Your logic is so baseless. Is it only muslims that call gej an I-B? So by your twisted logic, "The Economist" that coined the word is a muslim magazine and filled with muslims abi? May God cure you of the bufooness passed on to you by the one and only I-B The government has cracked down on corruption, which had flourished under the previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity. Lai Mohammed, a minister, reckons that just 55 people stole $6.8 billion from the public purse over seven recent years. |
Movic1:Where in my response did I say u are complaining? Movic1:The fact u are pointing at is pretty obvious and in fact has been on for a long time. That is why I gave those examples. Its not new and its not news. But by ringing it up, you may be awakening some people who otherwise have been indifferent to the religion of their leaders. This is not what we need. What we need is good governance and hopefully regional autonomy. |
jaymichael:My broda, that's how lucky we are. The silly politics of religion is not too much in our culture. until recently, I too didn't know Ajimobi of Oyo is a muslim. Religion has never been a cause of political violence in SW even as the population of both religions are about equal. By focusing on religion, we are unknowingly adding a dangerous variable into the equation. When that crazy FFK didn't have anything tangible to campaign with, he resorted to saying APC gov are 80% muslims. Is that what made Lagos (ruled by muslims since 1999) the 5th largest economy in Africa? What about Ogun state that has been dubbed the industrial hub of Nigeria which has been ruled by Christians since 1999 (until Amosu came on board). Hopefully, we won't descend low to make a mockery of the divine like the one in the picture
|
We have started again o. Is this trash not enough? SW does not really give a damn about religion. It is that ineffectual buffon that tried to reap from the religious divide in this country that brought religious politics to our consciousness. If you don't believe me, can you name 5 SW muslim ministers since 1999. In fact I can't really think of any beside Obanikoro and that is just recent under GEJ. Ondo and Ekiti states have not had a muslim governor till date! Aregbe and Amosu of Osun and Ogun state are the first muslim governors of those states since 1999. Are the SW people complaining? No - because what is important to us is good governance. Let's not resurrect this nonsense of religious politics that nearly turned urgly. Whoever is capable should be nominated irrespective of his/her religious affiliation. And BTW, I am a muslim |
989900:Spot on! gists: |
omenka:Absolutely. May God continue to strengthen her and the entire gov. |
I am a strong supporter of apc and as things are right now, I will still vote for PMB in 2019 if I am around. BUT just as I criticized GEJ admin when the DSS through Ogar came up with the ridiculous story that BH went to kano market and stole catholic attires (indirectly and covertly, pitching the christian community against their muslim counterpart) I will also criticise DSS under PMB for this silly unconfirmed comment. I heard the story on channels news last night. This is very dangerous for the Igbo community in the north and the DSS ought to have been more cautious and show better sense of responsibility. |
The problem with Nigerian civil service sector is that their is a WIDE disparity between the salaries of government workers and their counterparts in the private sector. Prior to the privatisation of PHCN, you can't imagine how much an engineer earn in PHCN compared to how much the same engineer earn in say Zenith bank. |
ndcide:Doubtful. I can't readily think of any where in the world where a certain class/group of people unilaterally align. Its just wishful thinking in my opinion. I hear this type of argument often that if only the masses can discipline ourselves, we can stamp out corruption or lawlessness etc. My take is its never going to happen as it is against nature that everybody within a sample size just align without some form of "teleguidance" from the "top". Take a look at nairaland for example and you'll see what I mean. Everybody cannot just sleep and place their heads in the same direction. For me the answer still lies on the government to re-orientate the nation. To restore our value system. If a man refuses to take a carton of indomie from the politician campaign rally, he will most likely be laughed at in his community. People will call him a fo0l. Same goes for a young and brilliant man/lady who want to contest but refuses to "induce" delegates (many of whom are also youths). Our national value system is crap! that is the problem as far as I am concerned. Take the most passionate youth and entrust him with a national post, s/he will most likely derail due to unnecessary influences - starting from his/her immediate family. Everybody just seem to be waiting for supposed God's opportunity to partake in the national cake. Reuben Abati used to be a sound critique of the government pointing out where they fall short. One would have thought he will use his then-found position in Aso Rock to practice what he preached. But, something changed and he defended a government that said stealing is not corruption ![]() |
Wail on, waileerr life gets in your way This is sheer hypocracy - a failed subtle attempt to cleverly label this administration anti-youth. While I agree the youth need to wake up, how come the OP is just realizing now? He didn't know the past "youthful" and supposedly "youth friendly" gej didn't make any serious attempt to correct this anomaly? Besides, which youth are we talking about? Is it the ones that go about beheading people for politicians like we saw in rivers rerun? Is it the ones that are probably more corrupt than the old cargos? Some will consider Ibori a youth when he became the delta state governor in 1999. Where is he today? What about the past edo state gov. Igbinedion. "Lucky boy" was just about 40yrs in 1999. The "common sense" twitter general has effectively told us that PDP does not have deserving youth from his constituency. And what on earth did PDP do to people like Donald Duke? The nest of killer have perfected the act of killing the political ambition of those (youthful and not-so-youthful candidates) that may be considered deserving. The current political landscape does not leave much room for deserving youths without "god fathers". How many youths who have not embezzled from somewhere can afford the governorship ticket of political parties (not to mention that of the presidency). Money is the name of the Nigerian politics and anyone that does not have it (and a strong godfather) is just wasting his/her time. This is what need to change first before condemning all the youth as a generation. Having said this, the youths need to be more proactive in politics. But then, I know for sure the youth have and continue to make Nigeria proud in other sectors of our national lives. |

Sometimes I wonder why we will be cautious to make similar statement about Nigerians like the one in the topic. A classical example is this frenzzy with the coming US election. Here is why some US citizens say Mr. Trump should not be the POTUS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K0fCJ8Rfz8 Here is why some US citizens say Mr. Trump should be the POTUS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlWgT3GedV4 But all these are not so much of concern to me. When president Obama was asked why he thinks Mr. Trump will not be the POTUS, he simply said (and I paraphrase) - because I have faith in American people because they are pretty sensible, and will make a sensible choice in the end. This means the election will be done in the US and the electorates are Americans. So why are Nigerians (in Nigeria) soooo busy and concerned with who gets to be the next POTUS? Many are so passionate and looking forward to seeing Mr. Trump being the next president while there are about equal number so concerned why he will/should not be. The opinions of 99.99% of these people don’t count. Whether you like it or not, Americans will elect whosoever will best serve their interest irrespective of what you think or feel - Its all about putting Americans first (and rightfully so!) The irony of it is that in local election here in Nigeria, many of these people will stay at home during election and some did not even register with INEC let alone having PVC. So what on earth is our biz with that election? |
Do a video of it in use and post. |
This funny if not ridiculous. I would have taken side with you if you suggested government should only cater for the first 3 children of any couple. How much has the government done for the people that you are now suggesting sanction on child bearing. What of those whose "third child" happens to be twins? What of those who divorced and remarry and having three kids in each marriage? What of the uncountable polygamous families? Is it 3 kids per woman or 3kids per man or 3kids per family. Bros this your suggestion is dead on arrival. But I agree we need to find a way of controlling our population but not through sanctions - if HIV has not discouraged man to have sex, I don't see how taxation will. |
This is probably the most fo0lish thread ever. Trying to compare apples with periwinkles. Like jpphillip said, how come there was no justice to the coup plotters when their kinsman became the "beneficiary" of the coup? To make matters worse, the same Ironsi abolished the regional system and instituted a federal system which further strengthened the believe among the northerners that the igbos were on a campaign to dominate the country (it is left to you to decide whether or not that the north had a case to hold such believe). The same federal system started by an igbo man is what many are ipobs are complaining about today. The well-meaning igbos are forging ahead and making everywhere they find themselves. |
Ishh. Anybody can go back to old post and edit to sooth present reality. Predict indeed. Oh BTW, you have not even spent one year when we plan to vote PMB in for 2 terms ![]() |
After-thought |
He pretends to be one of them on the podium and they cheer him on believing s/he is one of them. Not knowing that her/his real agenda is to screw them - hard. |
ok the two examples given in the article were patriotic. what about the inconsistent policies like barring cash dollar deposit to dom accounts only to make U-turn in less than a month to say sorry now you can deposit your dollars in cash to the bank. Then came the N65 charge for every three transactions on 3rd party ATM machines. But that later turned to be N65 per transaction (even sometimes you still get charged on your bank's ATM machine). I can't even remember the number of conflicting emails I have received from GTB and other banks stating new CBN policy about the limit on ATN on int'l POS machines. |
All I will say for now is GOD PUNISH GEJ for taking us this low. We have had presidents from both religions but none of them tried to profit from the religious divide except the fo0lish ineffectual buffon. They even tried to smuggle this bigotry to SW by saying 80% of APC governors were muslims (conveniently ignoring the fact that 100% of PDP governors in SE were christians). This is the result of a government that had nothing to campaign with other than sowing the seed of bigotry: "vote for me or they will islamize Nigeria". So annoying and irritating that people actually believed it - especially when the then senate president and his vice were christians. Shehu Sagari, Buhari, Babangida, Abacha, Yar'adua were all muslims presidents with a combined ruler-ship years of about 50% since independence. Yet till date Nigeria has not been islamised but we are here today discussing this nonsense - No thanks for the ineffectual buffon who hammered so hard on this fragile fault-line just to stay in power. Nnamdi Azikiwe => Christian => 1963 |
Mass killer Anders Breivik is suing Norway for violating his human rights by holding him in isolation for almost five years.Nonesense upon injury! Does this terrorist still have right after killing 77 innocent people? And why the hell is he referred to as "mass killer", he is a God-damn terrorist. |
Now that our dear respected and beloved Carson has been disgraced out of the race to the white house (someone pls remind me of his performance in the primaries ) and has even fo0lishly declared support for the diarrhea-mouthed hitler-incarnate Drumpf (who refused to denounce KKK), I hope y'all can see the fo0lishness in trying to profit from religious and race divides in gaining political power. This just reminds me of a certain ineffectual buffon who tried to do the same here in Nigeria and was also disgraced out. |
najoke:Any update? Will like to read what their response is. |
Now it is very convenient for you to agree with Sanusi - a norther muslim. At other time the north and "their islam" is what is hold us back and many of your people have vowed not to have anything to do with them. What hypocracy. Meanwhile, thanks for regurgitating an old article (May 2015) but no thanks for making it look like it was written yesterday. FYI- this has been discussed before. So shift commot one side. Next! |
najoke:I don't believe CBN doesn't know about it. I kind of understand why they do it anyway but it still doesn't make it right. The country is short of foreign reserve. So, even though you chose to pay in Naira, FBN will still settle amazon in USD (at the official rate - that is why I said Nigerian banks are round tripping!). There is no way FBN will transfer Naira to amazon and even if they did, amazon will not accept naira from FBN. So the payment still has to be done in USD. And with the forex crisis, the only way banks can discourage people from exhausting our FX is charging black market. I can bet you will think twice about your next purchase online if the good is really necessary. As I said, its not right, but this is the layman explanation that makes sense to me. Experts can explain further. |
Nigerian Banks are essentially round-tripping the FX in broad day light! What they do is assume you are paying in dollars irrespective of you choosing to pay in naira and they just simply give you the black market rate. |
LordEmmyG:Thank you for this piece. May God guide and protect us all the time. The highlighted parts of steps 3 and 4 contradicts each other. I am not an authority when it comes to automobile, but I think you assume everybody drives manual transmission cars. Myself and many others drive automatic transmission cars. How do you change to Neutral without pressing the break pedal? I have not tried it before. Maybe experts can chip in a few words. |
