We can't treat our parents that way because some of those oyibo parents didn't do more than the basics for their kids. The kids took out student loans and worked part time or full time jobs to see themselves through school. They feel they don't owe their parents much if anything at all. We are Africans and take pride in blessing our parents as and when God gives us grace especially because of their selfless sacrifices when we were younger. Of course, balance is key. Not that we should go and be doing more than we can to our own detriment or allow family take advantage of us.
Like we say, may our parents reap the fruits of their labour of love over us. Amen.

This is a common thing na. Family especially ones that may not be very well to do, like average income to low income, see their children or sibling's money as their right or entitlement. They trained you through school and suffered for you, so why not... they feel . Not necessarily the right mindset but what can we do... Sorry. Just take it as part of your returns to your Dad for his earlier sacrifices towards you guys in terms of education etc.

It's hard but let it go. You may not necessarily send him money for the project again. You can find another means of doing your projects. Most times, the people that will not pocket your money or swindle you are those who already have more than enough. Even within that bracket, it's narrowed down to those who value their integrity and honour above money. So the number of trustworthy people even dwindles when it comes to money issues.

Just let it go. Na your papa. Anybody can be tempted. That's the summary. Sorry you hear.

l concur with you more so because most times, maternal families take better care of their sibling's or children's kids than paternal families especially if the means is available.

This maternal grandma would have kept this little girl with her caring for her but here the paternal grandparents have already started talks of her staying with other family members. Whereas they are comfortably living in their own house. This is where it starts. Why take her away from people or someone who is more than ready to care for her and who has those direct rights too.

If your brother in law cannot take care of the only child his wife left behind, then they should give the child to the wife's mother as a consolation to her. how mean can your wife's family be. They are not interested in taking care of the child, and they won't hand her over to the person fighting to have her. why are they involving you.

Besides, I hope you know the long vacation story is bullsh*t. once you accept the child, any attempt to send her back to them will cause issues.

Be very sure of what you want to do. Don't start what you can't finish. If you want to accommodate the little girl for an indefinite period of time without input from the father, set your mind and do it because this is likely what will play out despite any agreement (written or unwritten) you may want to have with any party.

But if you know you won't be comfortable with this outcome in the long run, dont even start. Cos changing your mind later on may cause serious issues.

prettymaxy have you tried feeding him before he takes those snacks? Snacks fill some people's belly up such that they are unable to then eat solid meals. Then, if you can get him to start eating swallows (not wheat) and soup, you don win be that cos swallows are heavy with calories.

I don't know how far gone you are but it was safe for me as it was prescribed by my doctor very recently. I am 8 months gone.
sorry. I know cough in pregnancy can be quite disturbing and this harsh weather is contributing to it.

The workman is expected to be honest. Some clients may not understand the cost implications of their choices. Tell them that at that price, they will get an inferior quality job or products while probably at a better price, you will deliver quality stuff. Clients like me prefer to pay more for quality. I hate those artisans that claim that customers didn't pay well and so they didn't do quality job or sell quality stuff. Did you inform the client that you will do an inferior job? No. Was that the agreement? No. You just went ahead and did. Thats plain dishonesty. And such artisans can't succeed no matter how hardworking they are. It's true. Some are greedy, scheming and dishonest but still struggling.

Mamas please help me o, I don't understand the level of spitting I'm going thru right now, especially at night, it prevents me from sleeping, sometimes, I wake up to plenty spit on my pillow. I wash pillowcases everyday. I'm so tired of it. Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Eat biscuits, chinchin, popcorn, dry garri etc to dry out your mouth for a short time before the next spitting starts. I kept some of these things by my bedside during first trimester to use at night too . Then be drinking water.. Lots of water to rehydrate your system cos as you spit, you lose body fluids. My own was and is still cold water. Cold water also helped reduce the spitting. I just managed like this till it went around middle of 2nd trimester.

You Combine this with Calcitone Calcium tabs (100 tablets container). The container probably goes for N250. I have forgotten.

Yes. Especially with your previous history. It's really recommended. But if you dont have the means to complete it to the end of that 12-14weeks, pls don't start it at all cos stopping halfway or before time may trigger miscarriage. In this case, one can faith it out instead of not continuing. God guide you.
