PoliticsRe: Foreign Consortium To Invest $100 BILLION In Nigeria by Goddex: 6:34pm On Apr 24, 2013
The Nigerian economy is the toast of investors around the world. Thanks to a sound management of the economy by a sound economic team. Weldone GEJ, Weldone Okonjo - Iweala, Weldone Aganga.

eggheaders: again the lies of the insecure9jerian has been blown open.I used that route of late and I must commend the lasg on this project.I know after they conquer that swamp difficulties ino agboju axis. the road will continue at a speedy rate.
You are the one lying.
If they are serious why don't they commence construction at different points at the same time? For a road that started about four years ago with so much hype and propaganda, they have only done Orile - Mile 2. Fashola is more interested to commence tolling. He has completed just about 3% of the road but has already mounted 3 giant toll buiildings already. Infact, the toll buildings were the first to be built. Shame on all those crooks in Alausa!!!!
PoliticsRe: FG Rejects Lagos’ Offer For Power Distribution Companies by Goddex: 3:17pm On Apr 24, 2013
Gbawe: By selling DISCO to Abdulsalami and co with no previous capacity or expertise to operate in the sector? What caused the fuel subsidy scam again? Look, the privatisation of the power sector is a good thing but there should always be the flexibility to give deserving States the chance to craft unique solutions to match their own specific needs. State privatisation should be an option if we are in a purist federal arrangement. This will not be the first time the FG has played politics to impede the progress of Lagos. OBJ even made it virtually FG policy to say an outright No, even before he has considered the argument, to anything Lagos suggested.

Not too long ago on this forum we all praised the coming of legislation to allow States generate and distribute power. Is that not virtually State privatised power solution? Is it then not inane that States cannot submit bids to run Distribution Companies? What is the problem, when legislation is already in place giving States distribution autonomy in the sector, with letting Lagos acquire distribution Companies within it's border?

When has privatisation meant excluding States from bidding meritoriously for considerations that should be open to all? Is it not obvious that this is then no longer "privatisation" in the strict sense of the word? Look deeper and , like the fuel subsidy scam, you will see the same desire for a few to keep their hands in the cookie jar through favoured/selected cronies. Tell me where this rejection puts the thread below where virtually all Nairalanders, including myself, praised the positive effort of the FG. Logically inspected, without sentiments and in view of latest developments backed by legislation, does the refusal of the FG not appear like sabotage of Lagos to you?

Let Fashola provide Lagosians with pipe-borne water.
Public water supply is almost entirely a state government affair.
We are forced to live on "satchet water" we don't know the source.
ACN propagada machine has a way of playing on our phsyche by blaming Fed Govt for every ill and making it look as if they love the people more.
PoliticsRe: Unending Reconstruction, Unending Agony On Lagos-Badagry Expressway by Goddex: 2:49pm On Apr 24, 2013
berem: shut up abeg! I live in that axis and i can say there is tremendous improvement on that road. From Maza Maza/First gate to Abule Ado is swampy which makes the sand filling taking much of the time. I went to festac town on Saturday via Agboju and i was happy to see the marvellous job CCECC is doing. For now, i think it's the Chinese construction company handling the project. Julius Berger i don't know what happened to them.

Sickcere 9gerian,you know nothing about that road so don't you dare argue about what you don't know.
You are a big disgrace to womanhood if you can come on a public forum to lie wickedly without shame. My observation

1) Julius Berger handled that road and were doing a very good job but because of high level corruption in Alausa , the road was taken away from them and given to Chineese that they could do business and collect their kickbacks.

2) I'm trying hard to refrain from raining curses at a nairalander who sometime early last year or so posted pictures of Orile - Mile 2 and called it Lagos - Badagry expressway. I was tricked by that post to offer to take my aunty to Badagry with the anxiety in my mind that I was going to be cruising on a 10 lane expressway only to face hell immediately after mile 2 flyover down till Badagry.

3) Lies lies lies and more lies plus loads of propaganda are what we get from our politicians. Why didn't Lagos state government finish this road before awarding contract for the so-called Lagos - Ikorodu 6 lanes expressway? And somebody take note, by the time they finish sharing that Ikorodu 30 billion naira, they will also abandone it.

4) The completed part of Orile - Mile 2 is just about 3% of the entire road. For Godsake, Fashola has done only 3% of road but has spent millions sponsoring media propaganda about that same road. To show the dubiousness and fraud that characterise Lagos state government the giant toll points were the first to be completed. Infact, between Orile and FESTAC gate, they have mounted three giant toll points. That road is a federal road but because of greed for toll fees, they rushed to take it over and now they can't complete it. Somebody even hinted that Fashola is making plans to start tolling the completed Orile - Mile 2 part. Is that not wickedness?
PoliticsRe: Would The South-west Vote APC With Buhari As Presidential Candidate? by Goddex: 11:17am On Apr 24, 2013
vizboy: I dont see that working. Even if people of the SW would want to vote for fashola. I dont see him been able to do anything for his people as the vice.

But if the ticket where to be the other way round fashola/buhari [which i know is impossible] Apc might get a good vote
The Fashola/Buhari ticket will be far far better but . . . this will give Hausa/Fulani votes away to the PDP. Fashola is far more intelligent and up-to-date than Buhari. APC's insistence on Buhari because he commands nothern Almajiri following is not in the best interest of Nigeria. Almajiri are young and not so educated and their preference for Buhari is not based on sound judgement but beclouded by ethnic and religious sentiments.
PoliticsRe: Would The South-west Vote APC With Buhari As Presidential Candidate? by Goddex: 10:56am On Apr 24, 2013
Sunny_bobo: No. This is the reason why the South West won't vote for Buhari;

PTF Projects: The Abacha regime created a parallel government through the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) headed by Major General Muhammed Buhari. Nothing else typifies the marginalisation of the Yoruba than the lopsidedness of the projects carried out by the PTF. Figures from PTF Situation Reports (Vol. 2 Dec. 98) show that the PTF carried on as if there was no South West.

Of all the roads rehabilitated by he PTF, only 1984.5 kilometres of roads representing 10.84 per cent were carried out in the South West; from where the bulk of the PTF revenue came since the zone consumes over 60 per cent of refined petroleum products. All the Southern States had 4,440.43 kms or 24 per cent of road rehabilitation as against 13,870.47 kms or 76 per cent in the Northern States zone three comprising the North-West States of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara had a lion share of 5020 kms or 27.42 per cent because the Fund’s Chairman, Buhari and the military dictator Sani Abacha were from there; zone four comprising the North-East States of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe picked 23.48 per cent. This is the zone where Salihijo Ahmed, the late Chief Executive of Afri-Project Consortium APC, the sole consultants that supervised all PTF projects came from.

Figures in other sectors were more scandalous. For instance, under the National Health and Educational Rehabilitation Programme (NHERP), the South West had zero allocation in the tertiary programme, while the North picked 100 per cent. In the vocational programme, the South West had zero while the North had 97 per cent. In the primary area, the South-West had zero against 88 per cent for the North and in the secondary area, it was zero for the South-West and 86 per cent for the North.

The health sector is similar. For the Teaching Hospitals, the South-West had zero while the North had 62 per cent. For the Specialist Hospitals, it was zero for the South-West and 71 per cent for the North; in General/State Hospitals the Yoruba had nothing while the North had 56 per cent for health clinics, it was zero for the South-West against the North’s 100 per cent.

Under the food supply summary, the Southwest had 7.26 per cent compared with 83 per cent for the North, Buhari’s zone having 60.54 per cent to itself.

http://www.nigerianmuse.com/20061228122222zg/nigeria-watch/all-about-the-oputa-panel-hrvic/nigeria-has-persecuted-the-yoruba-submission-of-afenifere-to-the-human-rights-violations/
Buhari has a very bad record in South West.
His religious bigotry and Hausa/Fulani sentiments blinded him against most other tribes.
Abacha gave him an opportunity to right his wrongs as PTF chairman, but because it flows in the blood his bigotry only got worse. His Hausa/Fulani north alone got about 85% of PTF projects while South East and South West were only given crumbs.

@Op No, I won't vote for him, not because he is a religious and ethnic bigot
but because he is empty headed and doesn't have anything to offer.
In the words of El-Rufai, he is unelectable.

Tigerhead: Gardebcitytimes is a paid hack of Amaechi, most of the OP is just crap.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what is going down in our state. The Governor needs a lesson in humility and loyalty.

Amaechi is confused. Only the people he pays really have his time. Does he think the people will follow him if he leaves PDP?
Why can't he appeal rather than going on social media to call the other candidate "Interloper"?
PoliticsRe: Pack And Go: Buhari & Tinubu To PDP by Goddex: 5:39am On Apr 23, 2013
Nobody should worry much. The ballot box will speak at the right time. Coming to the media to shout like area boys is not it.

Opposition should remain United and fight their course for 2023. They will find it very difficult upstaging PDP even in 2019 let alone 2015.
PoliticsRe: New Rivers PDP Chairman Arrrives PH , Vows To Probe Amaechi by Goddex:
Amechi should swallow his pride and go kneel before GEJ, Turkur and Anenih to beg for fogiveness else he will be given the Temipreye Silva treatment.

Besides, even though he Decamps, he still cannot snatch Rivers away from GEJ. Apart from the fact that Jonathan's wife is a key political figure in Rivers state, Jonathan himself is a Rivers boy and besides, Rivers people are not in support of Amechi in this avoidable fight with the national leadershp.

I can bet with everything that Edwin Clark did not say this. This is a deliberate attempt by mischief makers to cause bad blood between the South East and South South. We are wiser than this gimmicks and shall only get stronger no matter how they try to divide us.

So you support the gutter language and tissues of lies and wolf crying from the most deceptive image-maker in the whole wide world, Liar Muha . . . ?
PoliticsRe: Tinubu And Buhari Are Political Liabilities - Okupe by Goddex:
Mehnnn . . . Okupe knows this job. Imagine these quotes

1) the ACN, is notorious for outsourcing its presidential candidate from the ranks of the same PDP

2) the administration of Tinubu in Lagos State was characterised by labour crisis and it never attain 60 per cent budget implementation.

3) The proposed merger is an “incongruous alliance of political weaklings, ,dysfunctional Lilliputians and repeatedly frustrated political power mongers.”

4) when Bisi Akande was the governor of Osun State, workers were denied N5,500 minimum wage. The Akande regime laid off over 9,000 workers during its four years in office that “Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who was then Nigeria Labour Congress President and now Governor of Edo State led workers on protest in Osun during the period but Chief Akande remained adamant. Where then is the credential of these people to talk about job creation, promotion of workers interest and democratic etiquette?.”

Hypocrite Koruji!!!!!!!
When your godfather, the big criminal himself, almighty Tinubu suggested to the economic team to discontinue savings in ECA and SWFund, and share all proceeds to tiers of government, you guys came out enmasse to support him. Again, when National Assembly increased oil benchmark from $75 proposed by FG to $79, most of you took side with Tambuwal forgetting that it is the difference in this benchmarks that is saved in ECA and SWF.

What the economic team headed by Okonjo-Iweala foresaw over a year ago is what you are seeing now. For your information, members of that team are very intelligent chaps and are among the best this country can offer so keep calm. No need to panic. The Nigerian economy is strong. Ok?

Go take a swim in the Atlantic if you do not like my comment. I have read the report from the State Dept website and it did not point out anything new. Nigerians already know that our police are corrupt and did not need the US state Dept to tell us that. Punch's aggressive attempt to paint the GEJ's Fed Govt. in bad is very obvious.
PoliticsRe: Corruption Massive Under Jonathan – US by Goddex:
Punch is just one irresponsible and deceitful paper. The US state Dept report does not rquire this kind of mischievous, misleading and sensational title. The issues raised in that report are not new:

Summary of the report:
1) Police are corrupt

2) Judiciary lack transparency. Some judges are bribed

3) There is perceived corrupt practices from Fed, State and LG levels and the report queries why some got officials (eg President, VP, gov) should be given immunity

4) EFCC and ICPC are ineffective in the fight against corruption specifically blaming the EFCC for the delay in prosecuting Dimeji Bankole.

5) Some public officials have not declared their assets

6) The report also talked about the fuel subsidy fraud.
PoliticsRe: Nestlé Chairman Says Water by Goddex: 5:34pm On Apr 20, 2013

PoliticsRe: Corruption Perception: Goodluck Jonathan Versus Bola Tinubu by Goddex:
The billionaire Tinubu is richer than GEJ close to 20 times. Recently, his supporters denied that he is not the owner of the multi billion naira Ikeja Shoprite but we all know the truth. He should be rotting in jail if not for the porous judicial system in Nigeria.

One of his supporters from Lagos told me the man has paid his dues as he spent his last kobo during the NADECO struggle with Abacha and so should be allowed to loot. For God's sake, can you imagine the reasoning of some of my brothers here in South West? ACN are looting our treasury massively, building mansions for themselves and cronies while blindfolding us with media propaganda about how they are performing and one dude is there trying hard to justify the loot.
PoliticsRe: The Real Buhari by Goddex: 8:48pm On Apr 19, 2013
GEJ is performing really big on roads, airports, fuel supply, railway, economy, power, agric, etc

Buhari is an old cargo and has got nothing to offer. Idiagbon was the pillar of that administration. The very moment he was out of the country was the time Babangida kicked Buhari out like a woman.

Which performance? And Lagos is still rated the third worst city to live in the world?
Many PDP controlled states have public water supply 24hrs. In Lagos, Mai-Ruwa and Pure
Water and shallow wells/boreholes are all that we have. What performance are you talking
about if not media propaganda?

Have you ever asked yourself how Tinubu became a billionaire? It is Lagos state/South West money.
Unlike Otedola, Dangote, Adenuga etc tinubu was never a business man. He is a billionaire
with money stolen from government coffers.

Papa Fasehun reminded them that Pa Awo rendered selfless service to South West without turning
himself to a millionaire. Why are all of them becoming instant billionaires? They are stealing
our money in droves while at the same time bombarding us with media propaganda of performance.
