Some peeps here have never traveled beyond Lagos/South West. To them, South West is Nigeria and they are beclouded by the mischivious tribal propaganda from the Ashiwaju party. |
A lot is happening around the country - power projects, Teaching Hospitals, brand new universities, highways, railways, airports etc but our own local media only report about Alamieseha pardon, opposition phantom PDP crisis. Why is opposition more concerned about so called PDP crisis more than PDP itself? |
Rochas is a clown. Imagine how Agbaso's replacement was announced almost immediately. |
@Kingoflag You sound like a small boy. I may not waste my time replying to your post. |
They made even bigger threats in 2011 but they will fail again. Aboki sorry, no vacancy in Aso Rock until 2019. |
@Cameroon So that "Cameroon Pepper" actually come Cameroon? |
GEJ has been doing this from time but what I can't say is whether Tinubu too deserve this. |
No vacancy in ASO rock till 2019 |
Talk is cheap. The last I checked APC governors have been ruling the Boko Haram infested Borno & Yobe for 14yrs and pocketing huge sums in security votes. |
Frankie9ice: I am not a fan of GEJ,...but if truth be told I av noticed dt our roads are relatively more passable esp in d last 5-6months,esp those dt I ply regularly. Abuja-Lokoja,Abuja-Minna(is bin dualised at d moment), Sokoto-Kontagora(which I drove thru yesterday),Kontagora-Makera,Makera-Jebba. Up til early last year Kontagora-Ilorin which is abt a distance of 280km takes us at least 6-7hrs to drive thru because of d state of dt road (now we do it in at most 4hrs,and dts because of d Jebba-Ilorin stretch). I won't pat GEJ on d back just yet because I belong to d school of thot dt believes dt any Govt in power in Naija cud 50 times more, because Naija is so blessed with wealth. Why shudn't Abuja-Okene be 5 lanes on each side? Why shudn't Ibadan-Lagos be 6 lanes each? Why shudn't Sokoto-Kontagora be dualised? Don't we have d resources in dis country? Besides electricity & water,I feel gud roads r d only oda means goverance can av meaning to d masses. Abuja-Lokoja was originally awarded to dis Italian dude who renovated GEJ's Otuoke church,...now it has bin re-awarded to RCC, Dantata & Sawoe,Bulletin construction etc,...my concern is am sure d first contractor was allowed to walk away with tax payers money despite d fact dt he did no meaningful job. There is simply no way a 'paddy-paddy government' can impress me. All of des pseudo-developmental efforts are geared towards one end,...2015 elections/GEJ's 2nd term.My dear, your country is a very poor country not just because of corruption but because of our sole reliance on just one product - crude oil. The capital vote for ministry of works is just about 120 billion naira (ie less than $1 billion). Let us face facts, corruption is just about 5% of the problem. How many roads can 120 billion naira actually build in a year? Even, that amount is not enough for Abuja roads alone. Meanwhile, Nigeria is such a big country with several kilometers of highways scattered around the country requiring attention. Is it 120 billion naira in an annual budget that will build 10 and 12 lanes expressways you talked about? Nigeria's 2013 budget in dollars is about $36 billion with a population of 160 million people whereas, Saudi Arabia's 2013 budget is about $186 billion - close to 6 times the budget of Nigeria but with a less than 25 million population that is just about the size of Lagos and Ogun. Check the 2013 budgets of most of these countries in dollar vis-a-vis their populations and you will know that Nigeria is a very poor country. |
Touchforfree: Am an Engineer, all these projects they put the completion periods at 12, 18, 24 months will never be completed within these periods especially when there are bottlenecks towards d completion everywhere. Just recently we read "Jonathan signs contract for $1,5billion (ie 250 billion naira) Lagos to Ibadan double track standard gauge railway". Lagos and Ibadan are all in South West but other ethnic groups did not crucify anybody. Even, I just summed up the costs of all those road contracts and it is just about 20% of the rail project. Let others share the crumps too. |
Maxymilliano: Can't see how the awarded road contacts cut across the six geopolitical zones as alluded by the minister, South-West is conspicuously missing from the benefiting zones.Just recently we read "Jonathan signs contract for $1,5billion (ie 250 billion naira) Lagos to Ibadan double track standard gauge railway" other ethnic groups did not crucify anybody. I respect you a lot Maxymilliano. Even, I just summed up the costs of all those road contracts and it is just about 20% of the rail project. Let them share the crumps too. |
wesley80: That satellite Map contract should've gone to Musiwa - if only the Aare would leave NL alone he wld notice he actually could be of some use toYou took the words out from my mouth |
These ACN guys are going gaga. . . Whatever, the courts should help return their senses back. |
Tinubu is the most corrupt Nigerian alive. |
Eradicate Boko Haram in a month and trigger off Niger Delta militancy in another month. Niger Delta unrest affects the country's main source of revenue. Jonathan brokered the deal that brought peace to Niger Delta. I think as a country we are better-off living with Boko Haram than having those guys go back to creeks. APC should work hard and remain united for 2019 or 2023 There is no vacancy in ASO rock until then. |
No vacancy in ASO Rock is all I know till 2015. |
I hear PHCN is undergoing a transition to new owners and that old PHCN worƙers are being paid off. The situation is also bad in my area now. |
I suspect all these crappy threads springing up recently about Ogun. Maybe one jobless ACN tout has been engaged to come market Amosun on social media. |
The opposition guys are so scared of GEJ. However, no vacancy in ASO rock till 2019. Team GEJ |
thelastPope: You are a confirmed idiota! How can ADB just go into a country on their own and do a project? Are they a kind of philanthropic organisation? Why didn't ADB do all Nigerian roads all these years? You are shameless, I must tell you! To call you a hater is even an understatement! You are practising witchcraft. Only witches hate progress or the people making it.My dear forget that Omonnakoda guy. Fashola is also getting funding (loans) from the world bank for the Lagos - Badagry expressway. Although he has only done about two percent of the road from Orile to Mile 2, but if by chance he completes that road, will anyone now give praises to World Bank and ignore Fashola? why is everybody praising Donald Duke for Tinapa when in actual fact this same ADB and a consortium of indigenous banks actually provided the funding? GEJ made it happen. Only dumb-ass like Omonnakoda, Omo_tier, ewet etc will embark on lies |
omonnakoda: We will not allow lies or ignorant clowns to prevail. You are just daft for posting links that don't even support your arggument in any way You gave us this link before http://allafrica.com/stories/201006220156.html I opened it and it revealed the following: 1) The period of the contract signing was June 2010 GEJ was the substantive presisident of Nigeria then and supervised the contract signing. Yar'adua had died about two months ago. 2) Nigeria's Minister of Works, Senator Mohammed Daggash and his Cameronian counterpart did the flagging-off Senator Mohammed Daggash was GEJ's minister for Works then before Onolemen took over What's the ranting all about since yesterday? Does it take anything away from you by giving credit to GEJ? |
Tusky44: APC & ACN have failed abysmally with their propaganda. Now everyone on Vanguard, Punch, Sun, Facebook, & Twitter refer to them as AMALA and Boko Haram party.Don't mind them. Their agents are everywhere on nairaland attempting to derail every thread. One in his hate-filled mind was busy praising ADB (a development bank that merely provides funding/loans)as if ADB ever doles out such free money. ADB gave a loan facility to the two countries as part of an agreement to boost trade and cooperation. Both Nigeria and Cameroon will pay back the loans. This is not the first time ADB is funding projects in Nigeria. The Cross River state gov recently got a facility of billions of naira from the same ADB for its water board projects and Tinapa and they are paying back. |
@Poster Frankly speaking, you are making governor Amosun a laughing stock with these pictures you called "Massive Construction". You cannot deceive us with your lies. Amosun is only doing two things namely: 1) Settling Tinubu - his Oga at the top. 2) Fighting Gbenga Daniel Let Gov Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state teach him "Massive Construction" and not those culverts and one-bedroom bungalows. |
Very funny, if a state govt now celeberates projects that local govt councils should handle. Besides, Amosun like his friend in Oyo also has to innitiate projects for Tinubu's HITEC construction as pay back to his Oga at the top. |
@Omonnaƙoda, ADB does not give out free money but financing agreements (loans) as negotiated by govt. Giving credit to ADB and ignoring Fed govt that made it happen already expose you as a hater. Stop denying. |
The Enugu - Abakaliki - Ogoja - Cameron road made me like GEJ govt the more. Though work is ongoig but the 80% completed part is superb. |
Fresh Air!!! |
AƁC Transport crisscross the entire country and should know. Surprisingly, haters who have never traveled out of Lagos will be here to show their foolishness. |
Tinubu will say anything to get votes. A man that could not contain simple "Agberos" in Lagos now acting like one strong man. |
I enjoin every lover of this country to watch this video. Incidentally, I drove on this road two weeks ago from Enugu and could not believe my eyes. Serious work is still going on between Enugu and Abakaliki though but the Abakaliki to Cameroon axis is wonderful. The construction company did a wonderful job (CCECC or so.) Shame on our local media - Punch, Nation, Sahara Reporters & Premiumtimes. Foreign media will keep disgracing them this way. Aligning with the opposition parties to run down the government is all they know how to do best. For almost three weeks now all we've been fed by our local media is Alamiesegha, Alamiesegha and Alamiesegha. The local press is heavily politicise and will hardly report very many positive developments across the country - interstate highways, powerplants, Federal Universities projects, airports remodelling, teaching hospitals etc |
It's expected. In most SE & SS states only the PDP exist. All other parties exist only only paper. |
