RomanceRe: How Many Men Get Married As Virgins? by godG: 11:12am On Feb 12, 2018
Gloryboy:
What you girls don't understand is that there are actually more male virgins than the females, but you will never know cos most are shy to say it out even if you ask them.
So just stop that mindset of the girls being only one keeping themselves.
True. I'm one. And never been shy to say I'm.

I'm i the only one who sees this mans lack of common sense, and maturity?. So a man calls him out of concern cautioning him to be mindful of the picture he posted online, which exposed the toddlers body parts, all for him to return the gesture with violence?. Why are some folks allowed to reproduce sef.
Same here! Like WTF is this world turning into?! There is no correlation between someone telling you to respect your daughter's privacy and going to their house to assault them! I personally don't think parents should be posting pictures of their kids on the Internet until they get to a certain age! The man is just bitter ni. As he rightly said.

Christianity EtcRe: Who is a Christian? and how do I know I am saved? by godG: 12:51pm On Sep 03, 2017
A Christian is a SAVED being who has the Spirit of God. How to know you have God's Spirit? Romans 8: 15 - 16:

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Visa approval.
Hello house!.To the Glory of God, my Visa was approved today 1st of June at the Lagos m

I was next in line to be interviewed by the VO in window 3 (a young pretty Lady). Here is my transcript:

VO: good morning
Me: good morning (with a smile)

Vo: please pass me your documents
Me: passed them (passport, i20 and sevis receipt)

Vo: I'm going to be asking you a lot of questions (in a slightly jovial tone)

..I was shocked because I don't know why she said that..
Me: okay( guess she just wanted to chat)

Thanks to all those keeping this thread alive and thanks to SirRiddy for reviewing my SOP back then.

Am sure whatever I would say has been said before already, but I'd like to emphasize, that prayer is very important, it definitely helped boost my confidence and gave me the grace to remember and fluently answer the questions, because she really didn't pause at anytime, the questions just kept coming. Preparation is also key, although I prayed hard to be asked only 3 questions (lol), I made efforts to prepare very well for any question that might be asked. Best wishes to future applicants!.

CareerRe: What Can I Do With A Degree In Philosophy? by godG: 9:00pm On Mar 14, 2017
Grammywinner:
Good day Fam! I go by the name Macquis. I studied Philosophy and graduated from the University in the year 2014, went for the compulsory youth service in the year that followed. Ever since then, getting a job has been quite a tale for another day. By the way, I graduated with a 2.1. I've applied for a number of jobs but haven't been able to secure any.

I really don't understand, maybe it's as a result of the course I studied in the University. I keep suspecting that though, not entirely sure. The purpose of creating this thread anyway is to seek the guidance of Nairalanders who may have been in my shoes as regards studying my course (Philosophy) or known someone, preferably a Nigerian, who studied my course. I would like to know the sought of jobs I should apply for or better still the Industry where my skill and degree would be best appreciated.

Thanks for checking out this thread. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
Apply to graduate school in US. You should consider MA in courses like Sociology, Criminology, Pol. Sc., Econs, Public Policy, and apply to jobs in NGOs, research firms, prison services, etc. when you are done. You are better off outside Nigeria. Good luck.

The speculation has been that the founder of the department Late Professor Okon Edet Uya having graduated at the Wisconsin University with a 2.1, had structured the department to be in antithesis with the highest graduating grade
The speculation is likely false. smiley Don't defame UW. smiley No student from UW is trained to be anti-Intelligence. Not sure the late prof attended UW. Besides, the grading scale in US schools arent like the 'class' model in Nigeria.

Schiphol airport. I came from Nigeria through that airport. Since you will be moving from one terminal to the other within the airport, you don't need any transit visa. It's a very large airport though.
Thank you, sir! Ile nko, sir?

Nope, you do not need a visa for transit, as you just stay at the airport to wait for your connecting flight. So you're good.

No visa needed for transit if you have a valid US visa ....but u cannot come out of airport (which means pass through immigration). You just hang around in the airport till time to go back to the boarding gate for your next flight

Dear Beloved Friends,
I greet you all, wishing you a prosperous new year! Its my first time on this forum. I could see your selfless contributions to each other's progress. God will not leave you unrewarded! I wish I joined this thread before taking my standardized tests and selecting schools. However, I still draw maximum courage from you all especially SirRiddy, Danja, Toppiipii, Pennystate, Drhopefully, Scholarstical, to mention but a few.
Although am not attempting to justify myself for the low GRE scores, I suffered a stomach upset on the day of the test. Intermittently, I held my stomach while taking the test. For about 10 minutes I couldn't make a reasonable introduction to my AWA Issue topic. I was almost crying on my seat, saying to myself "upon all the reading?" Eventually, it was 310 (Verbal=152; Quant.=158) and AWA=3.5. I took the TOEFL 10 days later and the devil's younger brother still followed me with a runny stomach that morning. After the reading and listening parts, I asked one of the proctors if I could cancel and be rescheduled but he said no. I prayed and finished up. But I cried after the test because it just reminded me of how I finished up my degree exams from a sick bed. 11 days later I surprisingly saw a score of 100.
Although I've applied to 3 schools (KSU, Emory and Rochester), am still thinking whether to rewrite. Am worried that these may not get me funding. Please I need your suggestions. I'm seeking admission and funding into PhD Statistics. My academic profile is B.Sc 4.54/5 and M.Sc 4.87/5 with 3 research publications, though I don't know the American equivalent on 4-point scale.
I'd like to start preparing again in earnest if am to retake the test(s). Please help a brother. Am so grateful and privileged to join you guys. Thanks and God be with you.
Try UW-Madison.
