Food / Re: Its Mango Season (see The Wonderful Reasons Why You Need A Mango Everyday) by Godiloveu(f): 10:22am On May 11, 2015 |
wazobiaforu: If you go to any market this days, you will realized the fruit that that dominate now is Mango, #ItsMangoSeason
Health Benefits of Mangos
1. Prevents Cancer:
Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. These compounds include quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat, as well as the abundant enzymes.
2. Lowers Cholesterol:
The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff)
3.High iron for women:
Mango is rich in iron, hence it is a great natural solution for people suffering from anemia. Menopausal and pregnant women can indulge in mangoes as this will increase their iron levels and calcium at the same time.
4. Eye Health:
One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes.
5. Alkalizes the Whole Body:
The tartaric acid, malic acid, and a trace of citric acid found in the fruit help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body.
6. Helps in Diabetes:
Mango leaves help normalize insulin levels in the blood. The traditional home remedy involves boiling leaves in water, soaking through the night and then consuming the filtered decoction in the morning. Mango fruit also have a relatively low glycemic index (41-60) so moderate quantities will not spike your sugar levels.
7. Improved Sex:
Mangos are a great source of vitamin E. Even though the popular connection between sex drive and vitamin E was originally created by a mistaken generalization on rat studies, further research has shown balanced proper amounts (as from whole food) does help in this area.
8. Improves Digestion:
Papayas are not the only fruit that contain enzymes for breaking down protein. There are several fruits, including mangoes, which have this healthful quality. The fiber in mangos also helps digestion and elimination.
9. Remedy for Heat Stroke
Juicing the fruit from green mango and mixing with water and a sweetener helps to cool down the body and prevent harm to the body. From an ayurvedic viewpoint, the reason people often get diuretic and exhausted when visiting equatorial climates is because the strong “sun energy” is burning up your body, particularly the muscles. The kidneys then become overloaded with the toxins from this process.
10. Boosts Immune system
The generous amounts of vitamin C and vitamin A in mangos, plus 25 different kinds of carotenoids keep your immune system healthy and strong.
11. Weight loss:
Mango has a lot of vitamins and nutrients that help the body feel fuller. Also, the fibrous fruit boosts the digestive function of the body by burning additional calories, helping in weight loss.
13. Aids concentration and memory:
Studying for exams? This fruit is rich in glutamine acid– an important protein for concentration and memory. Feed mangoes to children who find it difficult to concentrate on studies.
14. Skin cleanser:
Mangoes help you unclog your pores and add freshness to the face. Mangoes are applicable to any skin type. They help clear clogged pores that cause acne. Just slice a mango into thin pieces and keep them on your face for 10 to 15 minutes and then take bath or wash your face and see the results.
15. Great Conditioner:
Mango can be used in preparing a home-made conditioner. For this purpose, mix mango pulp with a spoonful of yogurt and two egg yellows. Apply this on your hair and leave for 30 minutes. This will condition your hair by making them soft and manageable.

luigiajah: 85 percent of Internet Users Use A Smartphone Sometimes it's really painful when your device starts malfunctioning and the last resort is to reset the Phone. Some People Don't Know How to do that so I decided to share this.
Be careful. Resetting your phone will erase all content stored on your phone, including apps and games (along with app data and game progress), text messages, call history, music, photos and more.
Windows Phones
To reset your phone 1. In the App list , tap Settings . 2. Tap About , then tap Reset your phone . 3. You'll receive two warnings. If you're absolutely sure you want to restore your phone to its factory settings, tap Yes, then tap Yes again.
It might take a little while for the process to complete.
To reset an unresponsive phone: If your phone is unresponsive and you can't reach Settings , you may be able to reset your phone using the hardware buttons. On Nokia Lumia phones (and some others), do the following to reset your phone:
1. Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons at the same time until you feel a vibration (about 10-15 seconds).
2. When you feel the vibration, immediately press and hold the Volume down button until you see a large exclamation mark.
3. Once the exclamation mark appears, press the following four buttons in this order: Volume up , Volume down, Power , Volume down . Your phone should now reset and restart itself. (It might take a while for the reset to finish.)
Android Phones
Each Phone Has It's restore method. The one that works for most phones.
Turn off the phone. Hold the volume up button and power button at the same time.
You'll See An Android Logo
Tap Any Of The Buttons On Your Phone To Reveal A Secret Menu
Scroll Down To clear data/reset or clear eemcc (this might vary depending on the type of phone) and select it (try using volume up to select if it fails use the home key)
Scroll down to yes and select it. It might take some time though Your Phone Should Now Be Restored.
iPhone
Go to "Settings" Select "General" Scroll down to select "Reset". Here you will have various options, the main ones being: Reset All Settings Reset Network Settings Erase All content and Settings Selecting " Erase All Content and Settings" is what constitutes a Hard Reset. Your phone will ask you to enter your passcode, and will then ask to confirm.
BlackBerry
There are 3 main ways to do this
Method 1 (BlackBerry Z10 and the likes of it)
Remove the battery from the phone. You can perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry Z10 by pressing and holding the Power button on the top of the phone for about 10 seconds. Reinsert the battery after a few seconds. To be on the safe side, wait for up to 30 seconds and then reinsert the battery into the back of the phone. Close the battery cover. The BlackBerry should reboot and function normally. You may have to power the BlackBerry back on with the Power button.
Method 2
Hold down these Keys in this order Alt, Right Shift Key, Delete/Back Space
Method 3
Open the Options on your home screen. Performing a full factory reset, or security wipe, will remove all of your personal info and reset the phone to the state it was in when it was first turned on.
Select Security Settings. In the Security Settings menu, select Security Wipe Choose what you want erased. Check the boxes for each of the items that you want wiped from the phone. If you want to completely erase your information, ensure that all of the boxes are checked. Enter the code. To perform the wipe, you will need to enter the code. Type “blackberry” into the box and then select Wipe.
Wait for the phone to reboot We're working on how to format a Chinese Android Phone, Once We Come Up With It, the information would be shared.

Nairaland / General / Re: 10 Things You Need To Know This Wednesday Morning by Godiloveu(f): 9:51am On Apr 15, 2015 |
henryuzor: Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning:
1. Nigeria’s President-Elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), had said in an article published in Tuesday edition of the New York Times that his administration would restore military relationship with the United States of America, also pledging to reform the nation’s military and to tackle the pressing issue of insurgency.
2. Having spent exactly one year in captivity, Nigerians yesterday remembered the abducted schoolgirls from Chibok. Ceremonies marking their abduction held in several states, particularly in Abuja and Lagos. In a procession that held in Abuja, two hundred and nineteen female pupils, representing each of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls took part, demanding their own release. Report says two young men chained themselves for two hours on the 3rd Mainland Bridge, signifying the continuous abduction of the girls.
3. There was celebration in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state yesterday after the Supreme Court declared in its judgment that Ayodele Fayose was the winner and the duly elected governor of Ekiti State in the June 21, 2014 election. Following a unanimous decision by the seven-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi, the apex court ruled in line with the earlier decisions of the Court of Appeal and the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal, noting that the petition challenging Fayose’s victory was lacking in merit.
4. Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has denied seeking asylum in any part of the world, as held by a section of the media. Speaking through the Group Public Affairs General Manager of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, the Minister said she never contemplated relocating from Nigeria.
5. The National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Col. Sambo Dasuki has assured Nigerians that the military will do its best to raid the Sambisa forest, the stronghold of the Boko and completely eliminate the Boko Haram insurgents from the north before May 29. He also said that efforts were being made to rescue the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
6. Lagos State government has debunked the reports of new cases of the Ebola Virus Disease in the state. At a press conference jointly held by the Commissioners of Health, Information and Strategy and Special Duties in Lagos, Nigerians were advised to disregard the rumour claiming that three Liberian returnees died of the disease and infected 12 others. The said website that allegedly started the rumour has been shut down, even as investigation into the origin of the rumour continues.
7. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has again re-assured soccer fans that Coach Stephen Keshi will this Friday sign a fresh contract for the Super Eagles role. The General Secretary of the federation, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed disclosed this in Abuja on Tuesday.
8. Human rights group, Amnesty International, has in its assessment of Boko Haram activities revealed that the insurgents have abducted at least, 2,000 women and girls since the inception of 2014. The assessment however revealed that fifty of the abducted Chibok girls were sighted in Gwoza, three weeks ago.
9. Motorists in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja are facing yet another phase of fuel scarcity as long queues have resurfaced in most filling stations in the city. A litre of the product now goes for N250 in the black market.
DSTV rubbishes court order, implements 20 per cent subscription hike; CPC, Nigerians kick 10. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, has affirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan did well by saving Nigeria from bloodshed after he conceded defeat to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He called on other politicians to emulate the President. He was speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in his country home of Nasarawa, yesterday thanks for the recap |

Flets: Posterity will judge GEJ fairly.
Providence brought you this far sir, Congrats for writing your name in gold.
Your best wishes for this country was never hidden as we saw in your achievements in almost all sectors, roads, bridges, railways, agriculture, automobile, alamajiri schools, new universities, fertilizer and ghost worker scam elimination, freedom of press, FOI, free and fair elections, power sector.....etc
Even until late, you kept Nigeria first and saved Nigeria from impending anarchy that could have trailed a tribunal or election rejection even when you could.
You were not as forceful as Nigerians wished because of our years of military rule. We lacked patience to see your policies come into tangible fruition. You were grossly misunderstood and propaganda from the opposition camp fuelled the government apathy of the impatient populace.
I will always maintain that you are Nigeria's best president. We were few months away from implementing the confab report that would have enthroned true federalism which would have set us on the path of recovery and greatness.
I am certain posterity will judge you fairly. Through all the insults, you never reacted. You gave all freedom like we've never seen before.
IF WE MUST PRACTICE DEMOCRACY, YOU ARE THE TEMPLATE.
I don't think you lost this election, you are just a victim of a sectional majority and Nigeria actually lost you instead.
I know we Nigerians are an impatient lot with unachievable high hopes for the incoming government. In few months time, after our hopes have been met with reality. ... then we shall sing your praises.
Whenever the history of this country will be written, your section will be in gold.
Go with your head up high, even you opponents would not have taken the step you took on this journey.
You remain my HERO. oh! ur so pathetic, I wish u could see beyond ur nose. anyway, I blief u know better. GEJ HAS DONE WORST some many lives died under his WATCH. 1 Like |

jorlons: As a Honourable member of Nairaland house of parliament representing APC zones.
I've to say this decision ordinarily should be NO. As the primary functions of the NA does not include providing internal security during elections. Also recent involvements of the NA in partisan politics brings much fears to the heart of opposition parties as to how the army will conduct themselves @ each polling unit during the election.
At the same time the Police and other civil defence agencies are almost useless to the Nigerian society which leaves us with no other choice.
In light of these challenges, the assistance of the NA is required to fortify the security of the electorates. Afterall the Life of Nigerians is more important.
However, the number of military personnel deployed should be far lesser compared to other security agencies. The DHQ should be smart enough not to weaken our defence against BokoHaram. Seconded! |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Hobbies Can Make You Have A Bad Resume by Godiloveu(f): 9:44pm On Feb 19, 2015 |
gradslodge: One of the most neglected parts of a resume is “Hobbies” it is usually located before the reference. Experience and observation have shown that graduates don’t understand what a hobby is or that they don’t know how to apply it in their resume or curriculum vitae.
Like other section in a resume, hobby has a crucial part as it helps to create a spider web link to one of the sections in a resume most specially the skills and ability section. Hobby section deserves the same time devoted when writing other section. Many resume as failed because of this section. The question is how?
1. Your hobby above other things, tell your recruiter more about your social life. 2. What you do when you’re not working 3. How you manage your time 4. How you use your skills and ability in an informal settings 5. Your availability for team work.
With this 5 point, you can see a gap in your resume when you neglect the place of hobby. No recruiters would want to employ a robot as employee. Hobby gives your recruiter a clearer picture of you. One of the benefit of hobby in a resume is that is can create an atmosphere for discussion with your recruiters during the job interview. Now that you know the important of hobby, you should be careful not to lie or list all the hobbies you can think of. Three to four is enough. You might want to ask why.
If you list all the hobbies you can think about, then your recruiter might be force to think that you might never have time to do any formal work outside the work environment. So what are you waiting for, start editing your resume if you have one already. And remember, except you are writing a general resume (fresh graduate), try to tailor your hobby to match your job specification and not just that, make sure there is a linking or connection with your skills and ability or other section in the resume. Example If you write internet research as one of your skills then there should be reading or writing in your hobby... there is a link between internet research and writing/reading. This is just a sample. There can be other things which can link each other in a resume apart from the example above and below. Creative thinking can link chess/Sudoku/scrabble game
