This is a classic example of misrepresentation of a borrowed concept.

The word hookup was borrowed from American culture and it basically means a relationship where a guy and a girl who find each other attractive have a short term, mutually consensual sexual relationship, in other words, they "hook up" with each other just for the sake of sex and without the intention of establishing a long term relationship where they are expected to be faithful to each other.

Prostitution is prostitution and hook up is hook up. They are two completely different concepts.

If it is to a stranger and you did it deliberately (not by dialing the wrong number or accidentally sending a message to the wrong number) then yes you might be charged with sexual harassment.

Like I said in another reply, it's not as serious an offence as defilement or rape, but it is still an offence nevertheless.
