Jonathan lack the intelligent, the capacity and the honesty to achieve anything. The fools in every one of us, made us vote him in. Our four years is gone; let even pray that Boko Haram as being packaged will not get us down the lane of civil/religious war Africa, when will you grow up. We are doomed forever |
kodewrita:As if you know I actually served at Kaura Namoda 1999/2000 and it was fun. If you have been there, you would have appreciated that all me are the same. What we need is true leadership. |
Certainly, one day the bombs will land at Aso Rock and kill the looting gangs that do not know what leadership demands. On that day, I will drink my bottle of guiness stout in celebration. No one is in charge in our fatherland; only criminals imposing as leaders. They surely deserve to take the bombs and not innocent citizens that have so far been the target. |
Beaf:You are an animal. Why should your FBI watch it? Are we not supposed to be free people? You are an Africa slave. You are unworthy of the black blood that flows through you. We will certainly fight neo-colonialism soonest. I wish to die fighting them. Rubbish! Africa must be free. The impostors that ruined our land in cohort with Western lords must be deafeated. As we talk, over a hundred people were killed by your irresponsible government in Ibadan over the weekend because they refuse to run our country well. May be you are part of the looting gangs at Abuja. bilms:Bros, You are right. You are a true African. I am with you. Forget the unread and unknowledgeable fools that refuse to know their world and why we are dying in Africa. |
What Does Boko Haram want? I have refused to say much on Boko Haram because it is a risky venture. I honestly do not have the whole facts of the matter. I do not know the immediate sponsors of Boko Haram, but I am 90% certain of its distance sponsors. However, the difficulty is that even the Nigerian state may lack the capabilities to unravel these distance sponsors, or as Wikkileaks have proved to us, top members of the government of Nigeria may have been compromised into working in cohort with Boko Haram to achieve the determined aim. I am compelled to put this on writing because a cousin of mine sought to know what Boko Haram signposts. I assume my friends and younger ones deserve to know my takes on Boko Haram. We, also as both the final tools and the victims of the long term effects of Boko Haram, must start to prepare for the D-day. When the game is up, we might find ourselves in a war field fighting a cause we neither initiated nor understood. Like the civil war of old, grounds are being created to massacre the people of our land for no cause. What is at stake is neither the interest of any group in Nigeria. What is at stake is the interest of a distance sponsor – global powers – that saw us as a pawn in the economic chess game. I am not afraid of wars. Our lives as Africans are everyday war. What I refuse is a dumb war or a war created out of greed. Every man will proudly go into war to defend his life, his nation or a cause he believes in; but no intelligent man will either fight another man’s war or allow himself to be manipulated into fighting against his own interest. We all know of the Nigeria civil war. We also have taken sides on the war believing whichever lies were convenient to us, depending on our tribes; but the truth is that the war was a dump war on both sides. The Nigerian people were lead to kill and maim one another for interest that is not theirs. The mess in our country today is a creation of the interest that drove the war. My dad was an old Bafrian soldier, I cannot take this platform to insult him; yet I am convinced that he was manipulated by Ojukwu as much as those on the Nigeria side who were manipulated by the triangular interest that drove the Nigerian side. Every casual observer should be able to know these interests. If those on the Nigerian side truly worn the civil war, the benefits would have been there for every body to see. If there was “no victor no vanquish” as they proclaimed, we would have had a perfect country that protects the interests of the masses of this country. Neither of these, do we have; rather we have a country that serves the interest of foreign super powers and their conglomerates with that of few cabals. They are the real beneficiaries of the civil war. They were the interests that created and manipulated the civil war. I know it will hurt my Igbo brothers, including my father who spent the last days of the war as a prisoner of war in Kirikiri prison, if I pronounce that Ojukwu ‘s Biafra was also of the same making. My message is that we as Nigerians must be prepared to reject a war that is not for our interest. We must reject the present manipulations of the day. The Western Economy is presently in the doldrums, though not as desperate as ours. They are used to a better life and cannot afford any thing less. Their politicians will pay a heavy price of losing their offices if they do not act quickly. Their people will loose the present comforts. Their strategists know very well that the global economic equations are shifting against them in favour of the East. As humans, they must do their possible best to revert us back to the status quo, but I postulate that they must fail. The intervention to stop Abacha in 1996 among several others in other parts of the world was part of this agenda; yet the booms of the eastern economies have continued. You may only delay natural cycle, but cannot stop it. Empires must rise and fall; it is a national law. The ingredients that drive these are inbuilt in our persons. The motivations that create empires also destroy them. So long as humans are involved, the cycle must continue. As early as 2002, I became aware of the strategy to take hold of African oil (that of Angola, Sudan and Nigerian). Today I see that of Angola and Sudan well achieved. I see Libya also falling in line as part of the game. I see what happened in Ivory Coast as another of those games to keep the Africa economy within the control of the present day powers. I am also aware that some in America predicted that Nigeria will break up before 2015 since 1999. I know that such predictions were made against Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and USSR which have all come to pass. I am aware that the elements that made those predictions played active roles in helping to dissolve those entities. I am not unaware that they were all driven by economic interest of nations over others. I predict that the terrorist of Niger Delta, the Jonathan’s Presidency and the Boko Haram’s of Niger Delta are all lined up as a strategy by the Western powers to break up Nigeria solely for their economic interest. I also postulate that they are presently having difficulties in achieving that because as usual, Nigeria is a difficult ground to deal with. We hardly follow the western models. Yes, they can create Somalia, Liberia or Congo- Zaire out of us, but the cost will be too high both for them and our people. My postulations are arrived at after answering these questions: Who armed the terrorist of Niger Delta? Why did Henry Okah given a free hand to buy several sorts of weapons until he bargains of a certain one? Why did America play active role in the Jonathan’s Presidency even when they know of his limitations? Why will persons from the North sponsor Boko Haram knowing fully well that the long term effect is a break up of the country, even when they are aware that the break up will be at the disadvantage of the north? Why will the UN building become a target for Boko Haram even when we all know of the neutrality that UN represents? Why did America make their Prediction a public notice? What is their easiest path of taking control of Nigerian oil? Why is Jonathan not supporting other African countries in denouncing the NTC and their tribal motivated forceful take over in Libya? Like the African diplomats asked in the Libyan forceful takeover, who is next after Ivory Coast and Libya? What options does the West have in dealing with the Northern Nigerian intellectuals who are rising in their numbers and are fiercely anti western? They Western strategists are fully aware of this and know the impact on their economics interest in the country. The reversal of Soludo’s “dollarisation” of Naira by Yar’adua and Sanusi Lamido’s economic ideology is a strong pointer to this. The only way to take long term control of Nigeria oil is to take the north out of the equation. Or better still also take away the Yorubas and the Igbos leaving only the Niger Deltas who can be easily managed like they have done in Saudi Arabia given large oil per capital ratio. Today as part of the Nigerian dumb leadership’s action to contain Boko Haram, FBI have been given access to our national facilities with the risk of having secret CIA members as part of their team; making the task of achieving their interest a lot easier. For these purpose, the UN building as a target was an asset. For this, Boko Haram was made to see the building as a positive target that it is not. Ours is a trap between the devil and the deep sea. We are trapped in a game between our dumb impostors as leaders and smart neo-colonial exploiters that lacks capacity to respect the dignity of the Blackman’s live when financial gains are at stake – as has been shown times without numbers from the days of slavery, the numerous wars they created in Africa, the ravaging poverty in Africa as a consequence of their economic domination and manipulations, to the present thousands killed in taking over the Libyan oil. But the God that preserved our lives and lineages four hundred years ago by making our land the Whiteman’s grave with malaria unlike that of the American natives, is not asleep. Ours is just to be alert. We will win. |
Count me in support whenever Revolutionaries are ready for the task. It is unfortunate most of us here are waiting for our turn to still the country dry. The IBB/Obasanjos/Atikus etc will kill the country before it ever gets to your turn. Better join and let save our country. |
Jeboy:Don't think you love GEJ more than us. We are just being honest and intelligent. You choose to remain blind By September 6, you GEJ supporter should tell us what he has achieved after 100 days as new President despite spending over one year on a learning curve. We all love Niaja. We all love GEJ. Our concern is better life for our people and our land. Long live Niaja and all that love her |
This would have been a good forum for us to articulate a position towards solving the problems of our country. But the way, we have chosen to go about this, will yield no result. The opening statements were purely a pro-southern position. I am a southerner but must try to be neutral when it comes to matters of reasoning. A man from the north who sees Nigeria from the perspective that most northerners do, will certainly have issues with the phrasing. As for my position on the issues at stake, I doubt if we can achieve anything by restructuring Nigeria alone. The fact is that our persons as Nigerians have been very much debased as much as our country, by the systems handed over to us by both the Colonial masters and the politicians that have ruled us. We have lost our identity and culture as black African and will never move-forward as a people unless we recover our true persons (We must dump the inferiority complex in our psyche, economically, socially and otherwise). The politicians would have stopped this decay that was cultivated by the colonial masters, but they had no interest. The politicians right from independent never regarded themselves as part of the people. They were foreign and has remained so. All they do is to deceive gullible citizens and steal. What our land demands is a group of nationalists, either as politicians or whatever (if they come through military coup and can keep focused to the goal, so be it), who can take control of our land and clean up the mess. Our people seriously need to be re-indoctrinated. Which of us have ever discussed with a Chinese, American, English or even Japanese? You see a blinded nationalism in them. Without this in our people, we can never have a working country. I agree totally that the Federation is presently faulty the way it is structured. But the fact is that the damage has gone beyond the structures to our persons. If Abuja is faulty as all of us agree, is it Abuja that is responsible for the looting in every part of the country. From our villages, Local councils, States to Abuja stinks. Corruption, stealing, opportunism and sycophancy have become the orders of the day. These are obviously a creation of the faulty Federation handed over to us right from 1914. But to correct them today demands more than a realignment of position and offices as being demanded by the proponents of Sovereign national conference. To correct them demands nothing short of revolution. Revolution does not always involve loss of lives and properties as we have made to believe and are afraid of. Indian Independent was a revolution. Ghana's was. All progressive nations on earth have their foundation built on revolution. Revolution is but a forceful declaration of position. A declaration of norms that all citizens must abide to. Of course backed by force of law. Restructure Nigeria without revolution; and the corruption, stealing and responsibilities will continue on a larger scale. If we are serious as youths, let articulate our position on how to force this on our leaders without killings. If we don't work for peaceful Revolution, a Violent one will soon consume a greater part of all of us. There is no way the corruption and stealing going on in our country can continue. We will self-destruct. Thanks. |
Thanks Brother. You have said it. We know it. We will get them very soon. A Rawlings has been given birth somewhere in NIGERIA. One day he will emerge and thieves will have their deserved payments. Thanks for reminding us of the truth we know |
Can Criminal wrestle corruption? Until we elect sane men as President before corruption can be wrestled. |
What we are practising is Presidential system of Government where there is no provision for Shadow ministers as exist in Parliamentary system |
I met Reuben sometimes around 2002 and asked him why they do not criticize government enough. His answer was that they also do not want to die. He passes as a big sycophant to me. He is just a cheat. Opportunist that sold dull and clueless GEJ to us. Now they want to eat us dry. |
The Lies Called Fuel Deregulation. For some time now, our government is back to its age old arguments for the removal of fuel subsidy. We are being bombarded with several figures to prove that the government is spending money, which should have been used to provide the much needed services and repair our failing infrastructure, in order to subsidize fuel importation. We are seeing multiple sponsored articles taking forms of private opinion in support of this subsidy removal. Assuming that all their arguments are true; assuming that there is no error or artificial built-in cost in the templates they have been showing to us; there are still overwhelming reasons why this deregulation must be resisted by every Nigerian. The Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) of Abacha era was form as a consequence of the removal of this same fuel subsidy. The patriotic labour leaders protested against the about N6.50k increase then, until they extracted a promise from Abacha to set up an Independent Agency that will utilize the extra income from the fuel price increase, to rehabilitate our infrastructure. True to his words, PTF was set up and Gen. Buhari appointed to head it. The Agency brought a significant improvement in the state of our roads, schools and hospitals within a short period of time. Even in the East, where the impact of the Agency was minimal, the improvement in the infrastructures was very noticeable. This feat was achieved with as little as N6.50 extra on the price of Fuel. After 1999, when PDP and Obasanjo took over the government, they choose to collapse the agency and corner to themselves, funds that do not belong to them. The PTF funds belong to an agency set up for the sole aim of fixing our infrastructure – thanks to heroic protest of labour and the Nigerian people. This is principally a betrayal of the Nigerian people and a breach of the agreement between labour and the Abacha regime. Government is a continuous body and subsequent government must respect agreement entered into by previous government. With these funds, they choose to fund their greed and refused to maintain our infrastructure, as PTF was set up to do. In addition, the PDP governments more than doubled the reigning fuel price amidst several protest by the Nigerian people. On several of these occasions, promises were made by the government which they have never fulfilled. In particular, they promised to supervise the emergence of refineries that will lead to full deregulation of the fuel price regime. But what have they achieved? Nothing! Today, they are manufacturing new lies and new arguments. They keep shifting the goal post. The Refineries they promised, we are yet to have. Even the ones we have, they have failed to maintain properly. Yet they want to deregulate. They want to abandon the Nigeria people to a resultant high inflation in our meager incomes; so long as they can increase the booty available for them in the pretext of securing more revenues. Of course, we know Jonathan is a new man in the saddle; but we are also aware that it is the same party – PDP – that has been governing us all this long. We are not unaware that the same characters that were liable for the breach of the previous agreement and the general failure of the past PDP government are still in control. A so called Chief Tony Anenih was head of the Ministry of works and misappropriated 300 billion naira meant for our roads without any improvement. Characters like him have been at the helm of affairs since 1999. These same characters have remained the closest advisers to the present government. Are we then to call this a new government with new priorities; are we to foolishly allow our people to be deceived severally? Who has been punished for the failing state of our infrastructure since 1999 by this government? Who has been punished for misappropriating the several accrued billions of the last oil boom? Has Jonathan proven to be a prudent manager of our resources, to be different from our past corrupt and public office looting President? Why then, should we further squeeze the already pressed Nigerian masses in the name of fuel deregulation? Behind their facts for the deregulation of fuel price and a subsequent fuel price increase is the inefficiencies and corrupt practices of the present fuel regime. Whose responsibility is it, to remove these inefficiencies and corruption? The very essence of governance is to manage resources and provide security of lives and properties. If our government cannot properly manage the processes inherent in the present fuel regime or device an alternative regime without fuel price increment; if they cannot root-out all elements of corruption in the present regime or device a better regime with minimal corruption; they should resign, because they are not under any compulsion to rule us. They must rule the Nigerian people on terms agreeable to us. When persons and/or parties present themselves for elective offices, they do so with the undertaking that they have superior skills and knowledge to change the lives of the people on terms agreeable to them. The whole essence of electoral campaign is to convince the people based on those skills. When the present government and PDP presented themselves for election, they never speculated fuel price increase or the so called removal of fuel subsidy. They said nothing of increasing the price of electric power consumption. They never advised that we will be made to tighten an already over-tight belt. Rather they promised us land full of milk and honey. They massively bribed us before and on the Election Days. Today, they are back to their true colour. Since we have proved incapable of remembering our past, we are being reminded that in our dealings with them, lies and manipulations are the rule. We are being made to understand that the new man and the new characters, upon which we were made to vote PDP is a grand deception. We are being reminded of the failed promises and failed hopes of yesteryears. I hope we can get the message and act rightly. If we accept today’s lies based on new promises without a fulfillment of previous agreements and promises, if we concede based on new terms without punishing all those responsible for the failures of past terms; we should be ready for future betrayals. It is only a people incapable of standing up for their right that accepts cycles of betrayal. Ours is a land of Christians and Muslims. We have accepted the Bible and Koran as our moral guide. Are we to forget the parable of the talents in the bible; where Christ superior knowledge tells us that he that could not to account for a talent will never be worthy of more talents. A government that has failed to account for the several taxes they have imposed on us, a government that has wasted and is still wasting the massive incomes of the present oil boom since 1999 is justifiably unworthy of more trust. When they prove to be prudent, when they significantly reduce bribery and corruption and prove themselves capable of managing our resources better; we can all go on the tightest of belts for sake of our future. But they have failed in all these parameters. They have continued to corruptly enrich themselves and their cronies. They have driven the cost of running our government to an unsustainable limit that we are borrowing during an oil boom. They have shown total incapability of creating jobs in our land or restoring our economy. Even basic security with law and order they could not restore. Yet they want us in our poverty to further fund their extravagance. They want to further compound our woes just to cover the wastages they have created around our political offices. In these, Nigerians must be ready to fight to the last man; to ensure we save ourselves and our nation of further squeeze, further deception and further manipulations. |
Hmmm, I suspect that has been the game plan. Let them and we will meet them by force. Time to revenge the Biafran experience. Hahahahahahaha |
buzugee:You can believe that because you have been brainwashed. To me, I know the blacks are the first set of people to step their foot on the surface of the Earth. I know even the Mediterranean lands of today including North Africa is a land formely inhabitied by Blacks until the Arabs of recent history killed and maimed us to take over the land. I also know that it can only be God who protected our lands from the rampaging Europeans of 16th century with Malaria. Find out who called sub-Saharan Africa the white man's grave, when it was done and why; before you can insult us and yourself with that comment of yours. |
Nigeria is not yet a nation. The British never wanted us to be one. They only built a colony out of us. Our leaders are yet to do enough to make us a nation. Even the so called tribes in Nigeria are no where near nationhood. When we are ready, when enough of our people have got the message; we will build our nation. Remember, Africa and Blackman need the Nigeria nation; because with our population and market size, we will certain rise to safeguard the Blackman, to restore all that the centuries old exploitation of the continent have denied us. We were ravaged by the explorers/discoverers from Western Europe from the 16th Century, followed by Slavery, colonisation and the current Flag Independent we are currently under. When we attain our true Independent and Freedom, our nationhood wil come. Only then will our economy improve. Only then will our good goernance be. |
Beaf:Edwin Madunagu is simply the Best. I have followed him for years. Though atimes, I do not enjoy it when he jump into those Communist heroes and their histories. But he is simply a servant of truth. |
mithel:Inaugural Speech that failed to make sense. Copycat; just copied Obama's sound bites without Obama's understanding. "I will continue to" do nothing. Let hope is can get better; but I am afraid we have lost it again. We have been duped as usual. |
Nigerian Youths Renaissance Movement.
[li] Whereas we believe, we have the capacity to make a change; [/li] [li] Whereas we know, we can effect more changes as a group; [/l] [li]o we can add up our individual efforts for a greater collective impact; [/li] [li] Whereas we are ashamed that as Africans, we have not been able to partake enough in the development processes going on in our world; [/li] [li] o Few of the innovations and inventions of the 20th and 21st century can be attributed to our countries. Of course, we know that our people who left the shores of Africa has turned to instance geniuses on leaving the Fatherland – exposing the fundamental cause of the dearth of inventions in our land to be the socio-political conditions at home; [/li] [li] o At a time when the people of the world are going to the space, we are still burdened with our inability to feed and house our teeming population.
Interim Convener: Godwin Ndubuisi Wilfred Aleke (Comrade) godwin.aleke@gmail.com 08090631503 Goals of the Organisation A total liberation of Fatherland from socio-political backwardness. We stand for good governance and best conducts in our national life. We are calling both our government and our people to order; we must stop the human waste going on across our land. Our politics and government must change to reflect transparent governance. Our government must be accountable to the people of Nigeria at all times and must work for our general good. Our government must rise to plan and protect the economic well-being of all Nigeria at all times. Our story must change to that of a focused group of people working to uplift the life of its people. Our lives must change to reflect discipline. Corruption must be tackled in our private and public lives. Our public institutions must be accountable to us; they must wake up to their responsibilities of serving us. We will achieve this, by coalescing our individual efforts to educate our members and other Nigerians on better ways to organize our public institutions, by standing for the interest of the silent majority in our land, by supporting the cause of justice and freedom in our country through positive interventions in selected socio-political areas and events. Through mass sensitization of the goals of the movement, through credible conduct of our activities, we hope to win the hearts of well-meaning Nigerians. We will carry through a campaign for a total overhaul of our institutions of governance to ensure a better life for our people. Our task is that of a second national movement after that of Azikiwe, Awolowo, Saduana and Belawa. Our desire is to give a full meaning to our nation's Independence as won by our heroes past; and ensure a good life for all Nigerians. We stand to defend and protect the well-being of every Nigerian. Membership Structure and responsibilities. The movement is a common platform through which we will collectively pursue the goals we have set before ourselves. The membership is structured in such a way that will enable us stand the test of time. We are building resilience into the movement to save it from the defects that have affected other organisations before us. Also knowing the gravity of the challenges before us and the struggles we are to engage in, we must build the foundations and structure of our movement to be able to carry us through. To constantly give us direction and ensure the purity of our purpose as we move along our chosen struggle, we must build a committee of select committed intelligentsias who will form the innermost core of our movement. The need to accommodate every of our people and evade the common pitfall of tribalism that have stopped us in the past from building a nationwide acceptable movement, we will make provision for people from each of the political zone in the country. We will hold the members in honour and expect them to act honourably at all times. To us, they will be the spiritual leaders of our struggle. They will be at the forefront of our struggle. Because, we are entrusting the fate of the movement and that of our people that we have chosen to fight for on them; we call their position the CONCLAVE. Also, we want to save our think tank from the distracting task of administering the movement. Theirs is to lead the struggle from intellectual and spiritual point of view. We appoint immediately after the Conclave, some members as EXECUTIVE to deal with the day to day administration of our movement. We will build an army of activists who shall drive our struggle with the Conclave and Executive members, and call them the FIELD members. We must also keep a group of those that share same concern with us as LOYAL members. They will help in taking our messages to the general public; they will also form a bank of advisers to the Conclave, Executive and the Field members who have chosen to volunteer for activists of our movement. We will build a platform to accommodate those of us that may not be opportune to associate with the Movement in the open; those who will prefer to keep their commitment to our movement secret for some reasons, as PATRON and ANONYMOUS Members. With these, we have a structure that can accommodate all of us, that can navigate the challenging task ahead. 1. Conclave This group will comprise twelve members in all, with two members selected from each geo-political zone of the country. Members will be appointed from the Field members based on merit; and must be individual who has never held any political office in the past. Such individuals must have proven track record of having worked for public good without any dent of corruption or suspicion of being corrupt. They also must be sound thinkers who have proven guts to stand against injustices; people with the right mentality and doggedness to withstand untoward pressure against the set aims of our movement. The body will form the intellectual engine room of the movement. Their status is that of spiritual leaders and think tank team. It will be the highest decision making body of our movement exclusive of funds managements. The members will at chosen intervals articulate the position the movement on socio-political issues as they arise in the nation. They will guide and protect the general goals of our movement. They will also determine the operational modes to be adopted from toward achieving our ultimate aim of uplifting the lives of all Nigerians; in consultation with our members, taking cognisance of the demands of our general society and the demands of the political realities of the day and the futuristic goal of our movement. They will direct the Executive and also ensure that the identity of our Patrons remains anonymous. Each member of the Conclave must be an authority in liberation struggle; a sound political scholar of repute who is truly Nigerian by with both of his/her parents being Nigerians by birth; while he/she posses no foreign country's passport. They must be seen to have a deep stake in Nigerian project. 2. Executive As in every organisation, the Executive members who will be elected once in every six years will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the movement along the principles articulated and set by the Conclave. They will set modalities for the coordination of the activities of all our members outside the Conclave members and the Patron members. The Executive members cannot interact with the Patron members; they can only received donations from Patron members as transmitted to them from the Conclave. This is to ensure that our patrons remain anonymous. They also may solicit for funds from other members of the association as the needs arise, but such funds must be purely voluntary. The Executive is to plan and coordinate the activities of the movement; in particular, the modes of operations of the Field Members. An Interim Executive to pilot the affairs of the movement pending the inauguration date will be elected by a poll that will be conducted online From the Field Members sometimes in the very near future 3. Field Members This will comprise the body of activist made up of willing members of the organization. Members will be encouraged to join as field members when they are disposed. The activities of the field members will be coordinated by a standing committee of the Executive. These members will anchor the rallies, lectures, conferences and peaceful demonstrations as the needs arise. They will be supported by the Executive and the concave members. They also will share the task of fighting for and on behalf of all under-privileged Nigerians with the Conclave and Executive members when the need arises. In particular, Field members who are qualified medical personnel may be called upon to offer free medical services to under-privileged Nigerians; whereas also qualified lawyers will offer free legal services when the need arises. The web gurus will be expected to pick up the enlightenment campaign on the internet while those with access to the media will lead the media campaign. Other Field members shall be required to offer free services as their specialisation and experience permits. In this manner, we will anchor ourselves in areas we can make voluntary inputs with minimal cost. The movement shall make payments for these services to the best of its ability. The day-to-day activism as deemed by the Executive committee will be coordinated by the Field members. Aside the Conclave and Executive committee, the Field members will constitute the real engine room of the movement. Members will be demanded to fully engage themselves in the operational activities of our movement. If you desire to join as a Field member: Drop a line of text to nigeriayouthsrenaissance@gmail.com containing your name, address, email_address, phone number, field of specialisation and Field member as membership choice. You can as well email a statement of purpose and your expectation from the movement including any personal suggestion. Aspiring members of Conclave whose parents must be Nigerians by birth and who must accept the responsibility of first being Field member are expected to give a full narration of their past, including past working experiences with positions held, record of past activism, a short essay on their plan for Nigeria for the next twenty years and how it can best be actualized. Such members are also expected not to share citizenship or posses passport of any other country outside Nigeria. 4. Loyal members These will comprise committed Nigerians who are in support of the organization's goal, but not disposed to be actively involved in the activism owing to some reasons. Though, they are not expected to be actively involved in the activities of the organization, they are sympathetic members of the organization who are willing to support morally or financially without exposing themselves to the challenges that might arise from activism/struggle. They will serve as reserve bank of future activist (Field Members), who will covert when conditions permit them. Also, as people that share the principles of the movement, their contributions and advises on better ways to advance our goals and that of our nation. Their moral and financial support will also be welcome; as they will be expected to play reasonable part in spreading the message of our movement. If you want to join as a Loyal member: Drop a line of text to nigeriayouthsrenaissance@gmail.com containing your name, address, email_address, phone number and Loyal member as membership choice. Patron member These are members of the organization whose membership will never be made public under any circumstance. The name and commitment of a Patron member to the organization can only be known to a single member of the Conclave whom he chose to trust. There must not be any documentation of the names and contact details of a Patron member to safeguard them from possible harassment from any corner. With this, the movement will accommodate our numerous supporters who are beneficiary of the government of the day, but wants a change in the ways our land is governed. We know the grave loss that can happen to people’s lives and businesses when government moves against them; and hope to protect the private details of our supporters who select to be patron members with this arrangement. Whereas there are, Nigerians who want to support us financially as patrons members, any willing Nigerian can select to be a patron member; those without financial muscle to support us financially and also afraid of any negative impact of being a public member of the organization can choose to be Anonymous members. If you are a Nigerian and desire to join us as a Patron member: Drop a line of text to nigeriayouthsrenaissance@gmail.com containing your email_address and/or phone number for a follow up call. You can as well email a statement of purpose and your expectation from the movement including any personal suggestion. 6. Anonymous Members For same security reasons, members can choose to be anonymous members only to be uniquely identified by a membercode to be chosen by the individual members. The members will be identified with such codes only and no documentation of their real identities will be kept. Anonymous members can only be communicated to by their membercode and emails addresses and/or phone numbers of their choice. Their donations to the association must also come anonymously, only to be tied to their membercode. If you are a Nigerian and desire to join us as an Anonymous member: Drop a line of text to nigeriayouthsrenaissance@gmail.com containing your choice membercode, email_address, phone number and anonymous member as membership choice. You can as well email a statement of purpose and your expectation from the movement including any personal suggestion. FINANCIAL OBLIGATION Whereas the movement may solicit for financial support from its member and from other organizations, any levies shall be strictly voluntary. The movement welcomes willing non-financial members since our goal is to win the hearts of all Nigerians for the good of our country, and not to raise money. Whatever funding the movement choose to embark on, must be purely voluntary. We know that where there is a will, there will always be way. Our concern is the will of our people. Also, our members, especially Conclave, Executive and Field members are expected to give all their efforts voluntarily except in cases where the movement can afford to bear part of the cost, but the key message is that membership of our movement is voluntary and commitments are purely based on voluntary contributions. MODES OF OPERATION The organization shall reach out to its members through emails, text messages and internet blogs. We shall organize seminars and rallies, issue press releases and press conferences, issue public communiqué, organize public debates and take positions in socio-political issues for the good of our country. We shall also organize campus outreach, market place outreach programmes and motor park campaigns both to sensitize Nigerians, and to articulate a common position among the Nigerian Youths and the Nigerian masses. Our aim is to go beyond the manipulations of the powerful individuals in our midst to get the voice of our youths and people heard. Our goal is to moblise the masses of Nigeria for our general good. We shall stand with the Nigerian masses at all times, by fighting for and on their behalf against any oppressor – whether individuals, other organizations or the government of the day. Our movement must be a champion of our people's interest. For our goal to be achieved, our masses must see us as the hope of the common man on the street. Our strategy is to be seen as the voice of the people of our nation. To achieve this, our army of lawyers will be used to institute legal cases in defence of the masses of our country whenever and wherever the need arises, our medical personal members shall be mobilised to give free medical services to the masses of our people, our internet team must be online twenty four hours to rightly spread our message and inform our people rightly, our members in the press are expected to expose the lies of the government of the day and also spread our message of hope. All other Field members will be mobilised with the members of the Executive and the Conclave to acts in defence of the the under-privileged as the situation demands when the need arises. Our approach is to through selective intervention in the affairs of the masses of our country in order to relieve their hardship, win their hearts for the final struggle against bad governance. We shall through such selective interventions, compel our government to surrender to the ultimate will of our people because we will take legal action where they act in breach of the people's will and our law; and where appropriate institute civil disobedience in accordance with the laws of our land and international laws of justice. MOBILISATION CAMPAIGN Our membership drive will take off from email and email group communications, through which we hope to secure reasonable membership. The second phase will be the registration of the organization and other formal documentation that may be necessary. This will include a release of our constitution and manifesto. This will be followed with the selection of the members of the Conclave, the election of the members of the Executive and a formal inauguration. A crucial step will be the outreach programme that will include visits to campuses, market places and motor parks. We will reach out to the leadership of the traders association including that of the trade unions. We will also seek an alliance with the labour union in the country. Along this line, we can reach other to Nigerians of better standings including public office holders who are willing to join us as Patron members. We are aware that some of them seriously want change in our country but cannot act in the open because of their political interest. In particular, we know that most of them because of their dirty past cannot afford to challenge the government of the day in the open. We know they have perfected the anti corruption agencies in our land as a tool to silence the few office holders in our land that want to stand on the side of the people. We are providing the organization as a tool for them to help cause change in our country without exposing themselves to harm. With these, all of us can work for the change that we all desire in our country with minimal harm. The members of the Executive will seek for areas to intervene across the length and bread of the country, as events unfold in our land, in order to protect the rights and privileges of all Nigerians. Through such selective interventions, we will direct both our people and the government towards the right path. The weight of our movement will be harnessed to achieve these. Our approach is purely that of peaceful means that will abhor any violence and confrontation, without being timid. We believe that violence is acts of cowardice; and will seek to eschew violence in all our actions. We will through dialogue, legal court processes, rallies, conferences, public communiques, and in the last resort, sit-at-home strike, peaceful protest and civil disobedience achieve the change that we desire in our country. THE FACTS BEHIND OUR FOMATION OF THE YOUTHS RENIASSANCE MOVEMENT We are fighting to safeguard the existence and reproduction of our people; the sustenance of our race and the purity of our value system. We seek, the freedom of our people and full Independence of our fatherland; so that our people can mature to the fulfillment of the mission allotted to us by the creator of the universe. Every thought; every idea, every doctrine and all our endeavour must serve this purpose. Every action must be examined from this point of view; and used or rejected according to the extent it affects this goal. With these, our movement; our approach will never exhibit dead doctrine since it is the well being of our people alone that all things must serve. 1. As we embark on this nation's discovery journey, we must note that all reforms in the beginning, posses but a few champions yet many million supporters. Their aim have often been for centuries, the inner longing of hundreds of thousands of people which never come into being until few people stand up to proclaim such a general will; and as a standard-bearer guides the old longing to victory in the form of new idea – hence the attainment of the general good, once the necessary follow-up work is done.
[li] 1. The fact that millions bear in our inner hearts, the desire for a basic change in the conditions obtained today in our country proves the failure of leadership. [/li] [li] This failure expresses itself in thousand fold manifestations: [/li] [li] I. In despair and hopelessness that manifests in [/li] [li] 1. High rate of unemployment, dead industries, with a government that lacks every idea of job creation and how to protect and nurture an economy. [/li] [li] 2. Lack of security while the policemen on our roads extort and intimidate, and abuse us. [/li] [li] 3. Extorting and dis-oriented government institutions with an alarming corruption rate. [/li] [li] 4. Multiple chronic and aging spinsters and bachelors among us that could not afford to marry as a consequence of harsh economic conditions. [/li] [li] 5. Multiple accidents and deaths on our failing roads and other infrastructures. [/li] [li] 6. Trooping to both serious and un-serious churches and healing homes in search of miracles; a consequence of people without hope. [/li] [li] 7. Multiple stress related deaths and sicknesses that has become rampant today in our land [/li] [li] 8. Trust and truth that is dead in our land, because lies and manipulations has been made to become rules rather than exception as a result of the hardship in our land. [/li] [li] 9. etc. [/li] [li] II. In ill-will, anger and indignation that is becoming common with our people. [/li] [li] III. In indifferences and cynicisms that has become part of our being. [/li] [li] IV. In furious excesses that is observed daily around us; in our homes, streets, roads and work places. [/li] [li] The renaissance movement must therefore firstly appeal to these suffering and abused people. It must not constitute an organisation for the contented and satisfied, but must be able to embrace all those tormented by suffering. [/li] [li] I. those without inner peace [/li] [li] II. the unhappy and discontented [/li] [li] III. Those that have lost every hope of good life. [/li] [li] Above all, it must not swim on the surface of a national body, but should strike roots deep within the whole nation to carry everyone along; and offer a better hope.
2. In purely political terms, the picture before us today presents a people turn into two parts.
[li] A national leadership, excluding all the physically ingredients that represents government. It is outwardly national but can conceive of nothing but a very insipid and weak-kneel defence of the so-called “state interest”. They attempt to fight for their ideas and aim with spiritual weapons which are as fragmented as they are superficial; and which fail completely in the face of an overwhelming western influence. In all these, they lack ideas and are utterly confused; yet they failed to admit it. They live in lies and manipulation of the common folks. [/li] [li] The second class, the broad masses of the labouring population where majority of us belong. We are organised in more or less western democratic philosophy world view and determined to oppose all views contrary to this. We desire to be national but unconsciously rejects the promotion of our national interest; just as conversely we aid and abets foreign domination; because we have been indoctrinated to see every part of us as inferior to foreign. We are numerically the stronger; and above all, comprises all those elements of the nation without which a national resurrection is unthinkable and impossible. We represent the true power base because we are by far numerically stronger, yet we bear the brunt of the suffering in the land, but lacks the foresight and will to act to change the conditions. To console ourselves out of our self-pity, we rely on a comparison with fellow suffering masses but fail to demand the good life that is duly ours. [/li] [li] The mental state of our broad masses is a consequence of events that transversed five centuries: The 16th century conquering and forced exploration of our lands by the European lords; slavery and the destruction of our them emerging cities; colonisation which further dehumanised us and mentally rendered us an inferior people; arranged Independence which ensured power was handed over to the hands the European could trust who are amenable to their interest, but not ours; constant interference in our governance and the activities of the under-world spy network of the super powers who ensure our leadership remain in the hands of people amenable to foreign interest. In all these, we see an impossibility in repossessing our true capabilities to dictate the direction that our nation and our lives go. We are confused into surrendering as inferior weaklings that cannot change the course of our lives. We fall back on a survivalist instincts of cutting corners, lies, manipulations and other acts of corruption in order to exist. [/li] [li] In the midst of these, is a well cultivated media campaign that highlights everything bad about us, but eulogize every foreign good; which further make us feel inferior and incapable of taking our destiny into our hands. [/li] [li] I. Our strengths count for nothing while our bad side must be blown out of proportion to make us look inferior. [/li] [li] II. In this regard, they have rewritten the world history highlighting everything little good out of the foreign, failing to account for our own positive contributions, while hiding the big evils done to our race by our conquerers over 500 years ago and the manipulations of today. [/li] [li] III. With these, we have grown to be copycats that lack enough guts to intelligently develop our own model solutions for our peculiar challenges. As inferior people that we have become, we depend on wiser superiors to solve all our problem, even when they intentionally mislead us for their own gains. [/li]
3. No resurrection (renaissance) of a people can occur except through a recovery of the outward power. The prerequisite for this resurrection are not physical infrastructure as our leaders keep saying but the inner forces of the will – devoid of any complexes.
[li] The energies of the natural instinct of self-preservation – the will for self-preservation is what is required. [/li] [li] The best physical weapon is dead, worthless material as long as the spirit which is ready, willing and determined to use it is lacking. A people become helpless and defenceless not because capital cum resources is lacking, but because the will to guard the capital for national survival and development is lacking. [/li] [li] We must let our leaders realise that through their anti-national, criminal policy of abandoning national interest, they surrendered our strength and rendered us incapable of developing. [/li] [li] This same reproach applies just as much to the activist community and ourselves; our helplessness and defenceless is the consequence of our cowardice. So we must rediscover our true self and come out of the artificial cowards we have been made to become. [/li] [li] Consequently, the question of regaining power and changing the course of our nation and our people is not: how shall we manufacture products, or how shall we establish industries, or mechanise our farms? But: how shall we reawaken the spirit which enables a people to be productive. [/li] [li] When this spirit dominates a people; the spirit will finds a thousand ways every one of which ends in invention and innovativeness. Because we know that if a coward is given ten pistols; he will not be able to fire a single shot when attacked. So for a coward, the pistols are more worthless than a knotted stick by a courageous man. [/li] [li] This is the case of the abundant resources that lay to waste in our land. If we can awaken the spirit in our people, our progress and development will surely come. Our task is a spiritual and psychological war; first on ourselves and our people, and then on the Nigerian state. We must call back the spirit that possesses our being before our conquering by the Europeans five hundred years ago. We must rediscover our true beings and abandon the inferior beings we have been falsely made to become. [/li]
4. The question of regaining our people's political power or reshaping the destiny of our nation and enhancing the lives of our people is primarily a question of recovering our national instinct of self-preservation. These instincts have been very much debased and destroyed centuries ago as a result of what the whole of African continent passed through over the ages.
[li] A nation's ability to form alliances is determined much less by dead stores of existing capital than by the visible presence of an ardent national will for self-preservation and heroic death-defying courage. A courage born out of love for all humanity; to uplift the lives of a people. With this courage, we can come out of our numerous tribal enclaves and embrace a national struggle for a common good. [/li] [li] If we understand that the resurrection of the nation represents a question of regaining our political will for self-preservation. It is also clear that this cannot be done by winning elements which in point of will at least are already national, but only by the nationalisation of the unconsciously anti-national masses. It is only through this, that we can galvanize all our people for a common good. [/li]
5. A renaissance movement which therefore sets itself the goal of resurrecting a people's state with its own sovereignty (reawakening the people) will have to direct its fight entirely to winning the hearts of the broad masses.
[li] Ways must be explored to articulate positions that will bring the masses of this country together. These positions must defeat tribalism in all angles because this has been the greatest tool with which they divided our masses and ensured our coming together for a common national interest becomes impossible. [/li]
6. Historically, it is just not conceivable that a people could recover its former position without settling account with those who were the cause and occasion of the unprecedented collapse which struck them. The occasion (circumstances) can easily be stamped out without much difficulties; and this we must do. Settling account with those who were the cause, calls for a more diplomatic and subtle approach less our actions turn to terror gangsterism. Diplomacy and legality is the watch world.
[li] Any possibility of regaining outward independence is bound up first and foremost with the recovery of the inner unity of our people's will. [/li] [li] Even from the purely technical point of view, the idea of an outward liberation seems senseless as long as the broad masses are not also prepared to enter the service of our liberating idea. [/li] [li] Also from the purely military angle, every officer, above all, will realise after a moment's thought that a struggle cannot be carried on with academic battalions, that in addition to the brains of a people, their fists are also needed. The masses will provide the fist with which the struggle will be fought. The moving train must be ready and willing to accommodate all for the aims to be attained. Every man, every effort every willing hand is required. [/li]
7. The international western democratic philosophy of life has become unconquerable in our present world and can hardly be combated and torn out of the hearts and brains of our broad masses. What is required is to articulate our national interest within the bounds of this all-dominating western democratic philosophy. 8. Since the favourable solution of the people's future require a national attitude on the part of the broad masses of our people, this must be the highest, mightiest task of a movement whose activity is not intended to exhaust itself in the satisfactory of being just a national organisation, but which must examine all its commissions and omissions solely with a view to their consequential effects on the goal.
[li] As its highest aim, the renaissance movement must first accomplish the nationalisation of the masses – galvanising the thought processes of our masses for a common good. [/li] [li] From a tactical standpoint, a number of demands result from this [/li] [li] I. To win the masses, no social sacrifice is too great; both from our movement as a body and from every committed and serious member. [/li] [li] II. The natural education of the broad masses can only take place indirectly through a social uplift. Our movement must as an immediate priority embark on programmes to inform, empower and win over the hearts of the masses of our country and by so doing nationalise them. [/li] [li] III. This nationalisation of the broad masses can never be achieved by half-measures or by weak emphasis on a so called objective standpoint, but only by a ruthless and fanatically one-sided orientation towards our national goal – our liberation and our common good. The fanaticism toward our nation and its interest must approach the levels of the organised religion for the greatest impact to be made. [/li] [li] IV. The soul of our people can only be won, if along with carrying a positive struggle for the movement's goal and our people's well being, we destroy the opponents of our struggle. The people at all times must see their own right in our struggles and ruthless attack on the opponents of our struggle (all agents of bad governance and irresponsible behaviour in our national life) who must become a common foe. To the masses, renouncing the destruction of our enemy seems unthinkable. The broad masses are only a piece of nature and their sentiments does not understand the mutual handshake of people who claim that they want the opposite thing. They can only follow the activities of the movement and must be guided and motivated rightly at all times. The reverse of our struggle must at all times be painted a common enemy to the masses in black and white. [/li] [li] V. Our movement therefore, must do everything on behalf of the masses without immediate gain. The masses must be the only beneficiary of our task with or without appreciation. On the long run, their hearts will be won over, at which point they must have been nationalised and the powers they possess utilized to effect the change we all desire. [/li] [li] VI. All great questions of the day are questions of the moments and represents only consequences of definite causes. The masses can hardly be rational. All activities must be clearly of immediate benefits to them; while our sacrifices as a movement will be for our nation's tomorrow. Our movement, and each of us must be the intelligent Sacrificial Lamb who is out to midwife the birth of our new Nigeria. [/li] [li] VII. Organising the broad masses of our people which are today in the international camp into a national people's community does not mean renouncing the defence of justified class interests. Divergent class and professional interests are not synonymous with class cleavages, but are natural consequences of economic life. Professional group is in no way opposed to a true national community, for the latter consists in the unity of a nation only in all those questions which affects the interest of the nation. [/li] [li] VIII. The integration of an occupational group which has become a class with the national community or merely with the state is not accomplished by the lowering of the higher class but by uplifting the lower class. This process itself can never be upheld by the higher class, but only by the lower class fighting for its equal right. So our aim is to constantly liberate the lower classes. [/li] [li] IX. Our people will not be raised to the framework of the national community via feeble scenes of fraternisation but by a conscious raising of our social and cultural situation until the most serious differences may be viewed as bridges. [/li] [li] X. The goal of our renaissance movement will never be reached by enlightenment work or by influencing ruling circles, but only by the achievement of political power by persons that posses the renaissance creed who share our deep commitment to our nation's good. [/li] [li] XI. Every world-moving idea has not only the right but also the duty of securing those means which make possible the execution of its ideas. We have the duty to ensure the implementation of what we believe in by exercising the right influence on the masses, the governed and the leadership. [/li]
IF YOU GUYS CAN; THEN WE CAN. IF YOU CAN'T, WE ARE DOOMED! |
Nigerian Youths Renaissance Movement.
[li]Whereas we believe, we have the capacity to make a change; [/li] [li]Whereas we know, we can effect more changes as a group;[/li]
[li] we can add up our individual efforts for a greater collective impact;
Whereas we are ashamed that as Africans, we have not been able to partake enough in the development processes going on in our world; o Few of the innovations and inventions of the 20th and 21st century can be attributed to our countries. Of course, we know that our people who left the shores of Africa has turned to instance geniuses on leaving the Fatherland – exposing the fundamental cause of the dearth of inventions in our land to be the socio-political conditions at home; o At a time when the people of the world are going to the space, we are still burdened with our inability to feed and house our teeming population. Our farmers still till the grounds with crude hoes and cutlasses; our farm produce we have proved incapable of extracting or processing for better use. The uncountable variety of produce coming from our farms, the numerous fruits and vegetables we have allowed to rot; o We have allowed our people to continuously wallow in hunger; ignorance and disease as a result of unfocused, incapable and un-intelligent leadership who lacks the basic ideas of wealth creation; who has failed to protect our economy and reserve jobs for our teaming population; Whereas we will cause a change in the socio-political conditions in Nigeria, we are set to put a stop to the human rot in our fatherland through positive actions and civil activism; o By first agreeing on a common position among us the youths; o Through well-coordinated efforts channeled toward educating and informing our masses (students, farmers, artisans, market women and market men) properly; o Through issuance of well-articulated press releases and press conferences; o Through public communiques, o Through rallies and seminars organised among our youth and the masses of our country. o By our program, we shall encourage every of our member and other Nigerians to acts in manners that will protect our national interest, the sovereignty of our country and the general good of our people. o By throwing the weight of our movement in support of all the oppressed masses of our country. We shall explore all legal avenues to protects the rights and privileges of every Nigerian, wherever and whenever they are tramped upon. o Through supports to political office aspirants of proven good standing who share our belief and commitment to our nation's interest and the general good of all our people. o Through carefully planned dialogue with those in powers when necessary. o And as a tool of last resort, through peaceful protest, organized sit-at-home strike actions and civil disobedience, in alliance with the labour unions and all trade associations, effectively reclaim the rights and privileges due to our people. Whereas we have realised that some of us must rise beyond the cynicisms, indifferences and prejudices of today, to give our people leadership; o We must awaken our people and lead them through the right path; we swore to make every necessary sacrifice in this regard with the hope of being the celebrated and uncelebrated heroes of the new Nigeria that beckons. Whereas we know that true heroes demand more than opportunism and sycophancy; o We have resolved to be the Sacrificial Lamb for our nation and our race, we have chosen to bear the brunt of the sacrifices needed to reawaken the sleeping giant called Nigeria, and give our people good life. Whereas we have decided to be the torch-bearers of a new era of truth, equity, justice, freedom, good governance and patriotism to our fatherland; Whereas we want to finish up the liberation struggle as started by Azikiwe, Awolowo, Saduana and Balewa, and many other known and unknown names who achieved our nation's Independence 50 years ago; Whereas we want to answer the call by our God to cultivate our world – to make our world (our country) a better place; and hence contribute our proud quota to the development processes embarked upon by all the good people of our world. Whereas we want to change the course of the Nigerian story and that of Africa – the fate of the Blackman; and to establish beyond every ground that Blackman is equal in all respect with all the good people from other races in the world. We enjoin all our youths of good conscious to join us to enforce the good life and responsible government that our people deserve; by becoming equal founders and joiners of the Nigerian Youths Renaissance Movement. Our government must rise to plan and protect the economic wellbeing of all Nigeria at all times. We stand to defend and protect the wellbeing of every Nigerian. We appoint immediately after the Conclave, some members as EXECIUTIVE to deal with the day to day administration of our movement. You can as well email a statement of purpose and your expectation from the movement including any personal suggestion. 5. Anonymous members can only be communicated to by their membercode and emails addresses and/or phone numebrs of their choice. 1. The fact that millions bear in our inner hearts, the desire for a basic change in the conditions obtained today in our country proves the failure of leadership. This failure expresses itself in thousand fold manifestations: I. In despair and hopelessness that manifests in 1. High rate of unemployments, dead industries, with a government that lacks every idea of job creation and how to protect and nurture an economy. 2. Lack of security while the policemen on our roads extort and intimidate, and abuse us. 3. Extorting and dis-oriented government institutions with an alarming corruption rate. 4. Multiple chronic and aging spinsters and bachelors among us that could not afford to marry as a consequence of harsh economic conditions. 5. Multiple accidents and deaths on our failing roads and other infrastructures. 6. Trooping to both serious and un-serious churches and healing homes in search of miracles; a consequence of people without hope. 7. Multiple stress related deaths and sicknesses that has become rampant today in our land 8. Trust and truth that is dead in our land, because lies and manipulations has been made to become rules rather than exception as a result of the hardship in our land. 9. etc. II. In ill-will, anger and indignation that is becoming common with our people. III. In indifferences and cynicisms that has become part of our being. IV. In furious excesses that is observed daily around us; in our homes, streets, roads and work places. The renaissance movement must therefore firstly appeal to these suffering and abused people. It must not constitute an organisation for the contented and satisfied, but must be able to embrace all those tormented by suffering. I. those without inner peace II. the unhappy and discontented III. Those that have lost every hope of good life. Above all, it must not swim on the surface of a national body, but should strike roots deep within the whole nation to carry everyone along; and offer a better hope. 2. In purely political terms, the picture before us today presents a people turn into two parts. A national leadership, excluding all the physically ingredients that represents government. The second class, the broad masses of the labouring population where majority of us belong. The mental state of our broad masses is a consequence of events that transversed five centuries: The 16th century conquering and forced exploration of our lands by the European lords; slavery and the destruction of our them emerging cities; colonisation which further dehumanised us and mentally rendered us an inferior people; arranged Independence which ensured power was handed over to the hands the European could trust who are amenable to their interest, but not ours; constant interference in our governance and the activities of the under-world spy network of the super powers who ensure our leadership remain in the hands of people amenable to foreign interest. In the midst of these, is a well cultivated media campaign that highlights everything bad about us, but eulogize every foreign good; which further make us feel inferior and incapable of taking our destiny into our hands. I. Our strengths count for nothing while our bad side must be blown out of proportion to make us look inferior. II. In this regard, they have rewritten the world history highlighting everything little good out of the foreign, failing to account for our own positive contributions, while hiding the big evils done to our race by our conquerers over 500 years ago and the manipulations of today. III. With these, we have grown to be copycats that lack enough guts to intelligently develop our own model solutions for our peculiar challenges. As inferior people that we have become, we depend on wiser superiors to solve all our problem, even when they intentionally mislead us for their own gains. 3. No resurrection (renaissance) of a people can occur except through a recovery of the outward power. The prerequisite for this resurrection are not physical infrastructure as our leaders keep saying but the inner forces of the will – devoid of any complexes. The energies of the natural instinct of self-preservation – the will for self-preservation is what is required. The best physical weapon is dead, worthless material as long as the spirit which is ready, willing and determined to use it is lacking. A people become helpless and defenceless not because capital cum resources is lacking, but because the will to guard the capital for national survival and development is lacking. We must let our leaders realise that through their anti-national, criminal policy of abandoning national interest, they surrendered our strength and rendered us incapable of developing. This same reproach applies just as much to the activist community and ourselves; our helplessness and defenceless is the consequence of our cowardice. So we must rediscover our true self and come out of the artificial cowards we have been made to become. Consequently, the question of regaining power and changing the course of our nation and our people is not: how shall we manufacture products, or how shall we establish industries, or mechanise our farms? But: how shall we reawaken the spirit which enables a people to be productive. When this spirit dominates a people; the spirit will finds a thousand ways every one of which ends in invention and innovativeness. Because we know that if a coward is given ten pistols; he will not be able to fire a single shot when attacked. So for a coward, the pistols are more worthless than a knotted stick by a courageous man. This is the case of the abundant resources that lay to waste in our land. 4. The question of regaining our people's political power or reshaping the destiny of our nation and enhancing the lives of our people is primarily a question of recovering our national instinct of self-preservation. These instincts have been very much debased and destroyed centuries ago as a result of what the whole of African continent passed through over the ages. A nation's ability to form alliances is determined much less by dead stores of existing capital than by the visible presence of an ardent national will for self-preservation and heroic death-defying courage. A courage born out of love for all humanity; to uplift the lives of a people. With this courage, we can come out of our numerous tribal enclaves and embrace a national struggle for a common good. If we understand that the resurrection of the nation represents a question of regaining our political will for self-preservation. It is also clear that this cannot be done by winning elements which in point of will at least are already national, but only by the nationalisation of the unconsciously anti-national masses. It is only through this, that we can galvanize all our people for a common good. 5. A renaissance movement which therefore sets itself the goal of resurrecting a people's state with its own sovereignty (reawakening the people) will have to direct its fight entirely to winning the hearts of the broad masses. Ways must be explored to articulate positions that will bring the masses of this country together. These positions must defeat tribalism in all angles because this has been the greatest tool with which they divided our masses and ensured our coming together for a common national interest becomes impossible. Any possibility of regaining outward independence is bound up first and foremost with the recovery of the inner unity of our people's will. Even from the purely technical point of view, the idea of an outward liberation seems senseless as long as the broad masses are not also prepared to enter the service of our liberating idea. Also from the purely military angle, every officer, above all, will realise after a moment's thought that a struggle cannot be carried on with academic battalions, that in addition to the brains of a people, their fists are also needed. The masses will provide the fist with which the struggle will be fought. The moving train must be ready and willing to accommodate all for the aims to be attained. Every man, every effort every willing hand is required. As its highest aim, the renaissance movement must first accomplish the nationalisation of the masses – galvanising the thought processes of our masses for a common good. From a tactical standpoint, a number of demands result from this I. To win the masses, no social sacrifice is too great; both from our movement as a body and from every committed and serious member. II. The natural education of the broad masses can only take place indirectly through a social uplift. Our movement must as an immediate priority embark on programmes to inform, empower and win over the hearts of the masses of our country and by so doing nationalise them. III. IV. V. Our movement therefore, must do everything on behalf of the masses without immediate gain. The masses must be the only beneficiary of our task with or without appreciation. On the long run, their hearts will be won over, at which point they must have been nationalised and the powers they possess utilized to effect the change we all desire. VI. VII. VIII. IX. Our people will not be raised to the framework of the national community via feeble scenes of fraternisation but by a conscious raising of our social and cultural situation until the most serious differences may be viewed as bridges. X. The goal of our renaissance movement will never be reached by enlightenment work or by influencing ruling circles, but only by the achievement of political power by persons that posses the renaissance creed who share our deep commitment to our nation's good. XI. Every world-moving idea has not only the right but also the duty of securing those means which make possible the execution of its ideas. We have the duty to ensure the implementation of what we believe in by exercising the right influence on the masses, the governed and the leadership. |
Wonderful Tread if we can for once be reasonable. Let see how bad or wonderful our Leader number 1 can be. To the pro GEJ, the best you can do is to go and advise (or pray he performs) To the anti you wait until at least 100 days into his new term before we can start making Judgments. Personally, I will give him 100 days grace from May 29, even when I have all doubts. We are watching. Countdown starts on Sunday. No lies, No manipulations |
enyojo:Sweet Sister. I love you for this. I share your sentiments. |
Igbos voted for GEJ, but the election figures were highly floated. About a third of registered voters voted that day, but the result turned out to be over 90%. Is that not Rigging. I write as one that actively participated as party agent in my local government. As early as 8.30 am, people have started voting in Igbo-etiti L.G. of Enugu state. People were given double ballot papers to vote twice. Buhari had no agents. On the few palaces he had agents, they were either chased away or bought over. That is our Igbosness. Corruption base |
I will be off to my village in Enugu state to deliver my polling Both to the BB campaign. I have assurances as I talk that all the young men are for BB. It was what I worked for since last year. I will be a CPC agent at Igbo-Etiti L.G.A. to ensure the massive numbers usually generated by PDP where there is no election is cut to size. Will keep you guys informed when I am out of the field. Disappearing to the field, to do my best for BB. I have done my personal best for the good of our fatherland. Hopefully our efforts will yield enough result to send PDP packing. Regards to all. |
whatever anyone says, Igbos will be back at the right time. It is a law of nature. As for my brothers in the north running after Jonathan, I wish them well. Luckily, they will be the first to shout when their sins come after them. I hate tibalism. Even if I am to be a tribalist, Jonathan is simply not Igbo. He is Ijaw. Igbos fought the war without Ijaw support. I take the Ikweres and the Ikas in River and Delta as Igbos but not Ijaws. Yorubas have told me severally that Igbos will never rule Nigeria. Ijaws have said that several times. No Hausa has said that to me. So, I would rather vote an Hausa if I am to judge based on tribal sentiments than an Ijaw man But outside tribalism, Buhari is the best for Nigeria. I see no reason why those Igbos in the North will troop to Jonathan but for ignorance. Of course we call them Ommatas. They have the money but lack intelligence. Politics means only stealing of public wealth to them. Politics to me is the acts of organising my society. This Jonathan can simply not do better than Buhari. When will my generation get this message. When will my Igbos get it. Nigeria shall one day be free and emancipated. |
Isn't time we plan of another alternative. We should start mobilising the Nigeria people to give this people a chase. One million march on April 31st proposed if no election by then!!! |
isquar3d3:Guy Sorry it wasn't until Bola Ige was killed that he learned how to criticise Obasanjo. Remember Obasanjo bribed to have Enwerem as Senate president, did he raise a voice? Remember Obasanjo has several running battles with the Legislatures then, did he raise a voice? Remember the doctoring of the electoral bill at the middle of the middle of the night, did he raise a voice? Soyinka did not criticise Obasanjo as much as he criticising others. He had a bit soft spot for him; but Obasanjo was so bad that he could not hold it. Period |
I respect Soyinka for what he has achieved both for himself and the nation. I respect him for most os his patrotic stands in our nation. But I hold him guilty of refusing to critisize Obasanjo when he was buldozing us. I guess he had a serious soft spot for him. I have heard the saying that in every neutarilty is a hidden choice. There is more to the criticism of Buhari than meets teh eye in what Soyinka is saying. It is obvious his choice is not beter than Buhari. I know Buhari must have made some mistakes. But I am convinced those were mistakes of the heart and not of the head. Buhari is an honest man that we want. BB for ever |
Hero |
Thanks for your sweet lies. |
You guys don't get it. It is a measure of the pressure on him. He has seen the Buhari/Bakare revolution coming to sweep him out. It is his last desparate cry. I actually watched him say that. I listened attentively when he was talking. He spoke on the voting block that is taking sentimental and regional shape. He also against all we know about him spoke in favour of zoning of political offices before saying he is ready to die. It is an act of desparation. It is a sign for those that do not know that the house of PDP is in disarray. The New Dawn is here. They claimed they will govern us for 60 years; that we will never be able to defeat them. Lately, they dreamt of 200 additional years of their continuous misrule. They have ruined our land; our youths are lavishing without jobs. Our infrastructure is worse than they met it. Our external reserves and every other national savings have gone; they have further mortgaged our tomorrow with massive internal and external borrowing, in order to sustain their gluttony, despite the accrued trillions of the last oil boom. Our economy is on autopilot; our education has been debased; our land stinks of corruption and indiscipline of unimaginable proportion. Our masses are hopelessly hungry while the few office looters among us gloat in the midst of stolen wealth. Morals, intelligent, innovation and inventiveness have taken the backseat in our land, while crude power and stinking wealth are being worshiped. G34 began as an honourable group that championed our course. They sought for the good of our people; they gave birth to PDP as a party. But the party has been hijacked by the inept office looters among us. These gangsters masquerading under PDP has destroyed our land. They have stolen all our money and have emptied our national treasury. Our land bleeds; our blood is dripping. Our lives are at stake; our future has been compromised. They consecutively rigged our elections in 2003 and 2007. They destroyed our electoral process as a result; they destroyed our judiciary as a consequence. Our nation Psyche has been bruised; our national cohesion is threatened. Our life and peaceful coexistence is in danger. This group of dishonourable, uninformed, uneducated, and uncultured men in power – called PDP – has proved they cannot be trusted with our future. This we know. This we have since realised. We said so with our votes in 2003 until they rigged our election. We trooped out to cleanse our land in 2007 and they rigged again. The judiciary was brave enough and contemplated putting an end to their rigging of 2007 until the very money stolen from us was used to bribe the ignoble man of the bench. Those that honour called refused the acts of heroism for a slice of bread. Our men of justice were further compromised. Thanks to Wiki leaks; thanks to the progressive forces from the civilized part of the world; we can live to tell the forces that held back our dawn from among the bench. But today we know better. Today our God lives. Today we have a Professor Jega that has given all the promises. Today we have a Jega that has done all the home work. We know there are still some crooks at the corridors of INEC. We know them by their names; we know them from their offices. We know them from their dirty past; we know them by their secret doings. We have, and will continue to expose them. We are also aware of the police chief that was appointed to help repeat the electoral manipulations of 2003 and 2007. We know his past – the hatchet man job he executed against Alams; the forced and arranged impeachment with the subsequent premeditated arrest and prosecution. We know him as the commissioner of police in charge of Bayelsa State then. We know he masterminded the failure of the police force in the East as the AIG in-charge of zone 9 in Umuahia. We know he supervised the peak of kidnapping and armed robbery in the East. We know he was honoured with the top job even when he failed as an AIG, even when he has no outstanding academic or on-the-job performance record. We have seen, he is very much at his “hatchet man job” again. When Buhari went to Niger state for campaign, they tried to stop him; when he went to Ibadan they locked him out. When it was the turn of Jos, stopping him was not enough; they went ahead to supervise the death of his supporters. ACN suffered same fate in Benue; they had a worse fate in Akwa Ibom. ANPP has same tale to tell from Ebonyi. It is all about a well planned manipulation that has refused to work. Their plans have failed to click. They underestimated the will of the Nigerian people. They took us for fools, which we are not. We are certain our free and fair elections have come to be. We are sure the Judgment day has come. They never expected it so soon because they are fools. They are unintelligent and lack the capacity to see tomorrow. They live and wallow on the immediacy; they live and die on greed and instincts as the beast of the earth. At their last rally on 26th March – a gathering that they should have used to tell us why they need our votes – they choose to further their lies. All the appointed governors of theirs who have never won a free and fair election (including those that are waiting to be appointed) choose to promise votes they do not have. They swore to their “packaged messiah” that they have guarantees for our votes. Their BABA, their mentor – a man that know how not to win an election, a master rigger, a master destroyer, a tamed bull whose horns have been cut off; in the very first of his lamentations (a sign of things to come) offered to die to cleanse our land. He had eight years to save our land but chose to be selfish. We did not ask for his blood, even his sweat he lacked the sincerity to give freely; we only wanted good governance. We ask only for our God-given right for a better life, which he refused. He was supposed to have been reformed from prison; but he dumped his Bible after tasting power. He maimed us. He bulldozed his ways. Today he is out of power; today we know better. If dying for our nation is all that it takes to atone for his sins, we welcome it. If that is what it takes to cleanse our land, let it be. If we are to be as crude as he is, we would have accepted this. But we will not, for we are true Christians and Muslims; we will not, because we are civilized. We hold human life, no matter how misguided, sacred. We will rather demand that he return the entire fund that he and his cronies looted. We demand that he account for the $16b that disappeared down the drain in search of light that never be, as a start. We have always known – as they are just coming to realise – that their last day in power is at hand. We have always known PDP with all its evil will die a natural death sooner than later. We will meet them on the Election Day. We will defeat them. Come rain come sunshine, we will troop out en-mass to sign the death warrant to the enemies of the fatherland with our votes. They will try to intimidate us; they will lock our leaders up; they will kill and maim us; but in few days time, we will take back the authority in our land. Come May 29, we will swear in our true leader who will supervise the cleansing of our land. Come May 29, we will begin to pass judgment on all agents of backwardness that have held back our new dawn for so long; we will empty our prisons of all men of valour who fought on the side of truth and reason. Come May 29, our prisons will take it rightful position as a place to warehouse all those that killed and maimed my people. It will warehouse all those who looted our treasury. I see our new dawn on the horizon as it breaks through the sky. Open your minds Oh men of goodwill; look ahead, Oh future leaders of my land – the saviours of the fatherland – and behold our new dawn. |
? yes people want gaddafi, what is democracy? is it not the govt of the people, by the people and for the people?, not all the people will support a democratic govt but majority of the people.and that is what gaddafi has, if gaddafi is bad, the people have weapons now given to them by gaddafi to defend their territory, they should kill him if they don't want him, but they did opposite by killing 200 rebels two days ago, they have captured CIA's who disguised like journalists.
