Investing that huge sum of money on power is not right.

We're rich as you say but do u know that we have other sectors of the economy? We have workers to pay salaries and other things to do?

Nuclear power project will solve our problem in a very short time.
That's your opinionangry

There's a place in Japan as big as or bigger than ikeja where Nuclear poisoning has affected for over 20 years..

There is no human there... because the air is toxic, the land is toxic, the ocean is also toxic...

Only scientists are there in protective suits and oxygen masks cos small exposure to the air/atmosphere will lead to death..

The scientists have been working for over 20 years and they say it will take OVER 50 - 100years to make the conducive again..

Japan is years ahead of Nigeria in development

Please what's the exchange rate of $2.5billion to naira! Talkless of $10billion
What sort of st:upid question is thathuh huh

A country where $20B went missingangry and you're asking for exchange rateangryangry

A country where the GEJ was giving $250,000 to traditional rulers like its nothing..

Nigeria is an oil producing country with cocoa, rubber and some other non-oil exports as its main source of revenue...

Nigeria is richer than you think
Nigeria is richer than what d media shows..

First and foremost, we outnumber them so 3,000 megawatts will not be enough. 3,000 megawatts for five years will not change our situation and will not boost industrialisation.

Nuclear is the answer. Later, the money we get from the industrialisation of our economy through nuclear power plants, we can delve into other sources of energy.
For the last 50 years Nigeria's MW has been below 3000MW...

Must Nigeria spend $2.5Bhuh huh

If $2.5B will build 3000MW then $10B will build 12000MW in 5 yearsangryangry

You need to start thinking outside the box and how to build better things instead of thinking with what people give you..

That's wasteful!

To them it will save lives, reduce costs, create employment opportunities..

And they'll build more to increase it...

They are not petty and mediocre minded like you that will build nothing and its. wastefulangryangry

It should be built in my village. I want it. I need it in my village, I swear.

Because there won't be any interrupted power supply in my village and I'll have many investors begging to stay in my village.

Nuclear power project is the way forward or else we will continue to cry and spend unending billions in power projects that will not last us.

A single carbon rod can keep this thing from going overboard.

NB: this is not 1945, this is 2015.
ethiopia can build a dam
that would generate more than 3,000MW in
5years with 2.5 billion dollars(borrowed
funds)angryangryangry

Your heroes steal BILLIONS OF DOLLARS YEARLY... Yet if $2.5B was spent every 5yrs since 1970 Nigeria would be much more conducive by now..

Solid fuels are the slowest form of energy. So your coal will only be viable if converted to liquid fuel through Bergius process. Solar energy cannot be stored for long. Or have u seen anywhere solar energy can be stored in large quantity? Nope! Except we can do like Germany.

Wind? Don't kid yourself, Nigeria doesn't have that kind of wind of generate the kind of energy we need.

Water? Its still cool, but you can see what we faced with Kainji Dam and co.

This process has been going before Buhari got into government. Since GEJ started doing deals with the russians, they found out that they can do business in and with Nigerians. Russians are very good and straightforward with business. I'll love them to be in this country.

People shouting "we're not ready for nuclear", I tell you, the only solution to our power failure is nuclear power generation. If its going to take us paying whites to maintain it, its a good deal.
Enugu has huge deposits of coal..
Nigeria as a whole has solar energy..
Nigeria as a whole has wind energy..
Nigeria as a whole has lots of waste..
Nigeria is surrounded by water(hydro energy).

All these can generate more than 100,000MW. If the leaders do their jobs instead of outsourcing..

What I'm rather concerned about is its maintenance. The Fukishima catastrophe is still very fresh on in minds.
They don't need to turn it into a weapon... Uranium is worse than oil in terms of destruction..

No Nigerian university offers Nuclear engineering as a course and even if they did Nuclear energy is too dangerous for a corrupt country like Nigeria to maintain.

The yorubas are the ones who would loose the most. When our leaders was spear heading jonathan failure from left and right no one saw any bad then. Now you want the oda side to be objective with you. The yorubas brought dis upon themselves. Look how they marketed buhari as mr integrity. Its normal politically for the ethinc group closet to the president to have the lion share but our yoruba leader cos of their greed and will not to handle a snub, plotted the removal of jonathan in fact were the main machinery. When the sane ones told them this would backfire they shut us down. Now the very thin we advised them against is happening. U only have to deal with it. Its the yoruba leaders who taught nigerian how to be political and seems they have learnt.
Yorubas have nothing to lose... Jonathan was being attacked internationally, Nigeria was on free fall before election if Jonathan had been re-elected Nigeria would be in chaos and riots by now...

Govt needs to provide waste bins and enforce environmental laws..

Oh I agree with u completely. As of today Kwara state is in north central zone. That Yorubas exist in Togo does not make them Nigerians. Tribes cut across borders and we do know that our boundary mapping in Nigeria for states etc is less than perfect.
So as it stands d new SP is a northerner from NC zone. Shikena
My humble two cents

Point of correction... Yorubas are d majority tribe in kwara state.....offa, oro, omuaran, etc. and these places have Obas. Stop equating what happens in Ilorin as d whole of kwara state. In actual fact Ilorin people are traditionally Yorubas n speak yoruba...it was d jihad that imposed an Emir on them. Up till now their culture n customs are predominantly yoruba.
But kwara state is in North central zone.
My humble two cents.
dokyOloye already knows this.. You should to read through thread before quoting people..

Even in all your oversabi you still don't know that Kwara is a western and yoruba state. You don't even know your village properly.

my brother, sometimes Wikipedia contains erroneous information. We Nigerians knows fully well that it's a NC state and that's how the federal constitution recognized it, so Wikipedia can't tell us order wise.
This is another example of misleading information
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kainji_Dam
Kainji Dam is a dam across the Niger River in
Niger State of western Nigeria

As for saraki he is from Yoruba ethnic group which constitute majority in the state.
The constitution is a scam.. Some parts of Yoruba land were carved out and given to igbos during state creation...

Nigeria is originally divided by River Niger and Benue...

Some parts of delta, warri and some other states that are originally Yorubaland are no longer fully Yoruba land..

When you look at the Nigerian map take a good look at how the Rivers (used by the Creators and nature) divide Nigeria accordingly..
