dederocs: Okonjo Iweala is an opportuinist, overhyped fat bitchAwww is that how you feel? LOL, some of you haters just don't have hope in this life. Pitiful... |
goldfish80: Show me a Naij lady who is Happy & fulfilledwithout marriage, I will show υ α santa clause in AprilThat's total rubbish!! A woman can be fulfilled without marriage, its not for everyone yo!, its never that serious |
Dahbutter: THIS IS a BIG @SS LIE! I know producers who use these actresses in a lot of their movies and pay them faaar faar less. What star studded movie with a total budget of N825,000.... Please I'd like to know |
bigass: Believe this believe anything. How much do movies generate. How many pple buy movies or watch it at the cinemas 2million my foot. Figment of someone's immaginationNot to burst your bubble but Nigeria has a population of over 160m, even if 1.6 million people (thats 1%) buy the movie at N100, that's already N160m not to talk of premiere ticket sales among others. Aside that most of these actresses do over 3 movies a month ( you can tell). I actually think the pay is too little for an industry like ours with so much potential. |
Jonathan over any other candidate at this point |
CAMEROONPRIDE:nahhh, i can't...i just can't with some of you. Lmaooooo |
Dreamflyin: We knw ur type. The rich kids from d rich families dat exploits naija cheap labour. Because wen u ar over seas, d whites dnt get to bow and hail u d way peeps do in naija, u tuk offence.LAWL!!!!! Aii G |
CAMEROONPRIDE: old hag stop talking nonsense.ermm what are you saying?? I was like 4 in 1996 though.... I don't even know what the hell you're referring to, are you okay? |
manny4life: Shey una don turn this thread into Yoruba/Igbo yabbing?Lool, some Nigerians need to chill on the whole tribalism ish |
coogar: you are a fool......oh please, Die with your useless sentiments. |
pDude: Nor be only tear or swallow. I will put fire to the fvcking thing as soon as i can change it.Good for you G |
Rossikk: Worthless article. If you travel abroad to sell drugs, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel to do fraud, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel to do prostitution, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel abroad and keep your environment there dirty, it is Nigerian govt's fault. Tell me something. Does there come a time when these "perfect, innocent Nigerian citizens" actually take responsibility for their own actions? So on point!!!! Like!! I don't even understand some of these people. |
Dreamflyin: U'll neva see posts by pple like Godogwu and Byllionaire on this thread.Looool why are you catching feelings though? Some of us actually have other things to do rather than sit on nairaland all day. I for one have finals coming up, lab reports to do and assignments too; i can't waste my fathers money just because i want to be the first to always reply a post on nairaland. Then again after i showed you facts of how much the traders earn daily in Nigeria, you ran away... Nevertheless that's not relevant now. @ the post, i really don't care what some "unrecognized" hotel in SA puts up, its not like I'll ever need to stay there. I believe its the useless Nigerians who live outside the country that should be blamed for this sorta rubbish, but no one should blame the goverment.....I find that completely stupid. Finally, Nigerians have the choice to live wherever they choose, I'm not forcing anyone to stay back in Nigeria.... Nahh not atall, intact we need all the useless ones out even ( wish they can all change their nationality and stop spoiling the country's name outside) like the 22 scammers that were caught recently. Now dude, there you have it...... I can't and will never diss my country. |
Dreamflyin: Oshe!! Oh boy! Where did u get all dose statistics from? Dude, ar u really in Nigeria, abi Switzerland?LOOL I'll show you G; BBC/CNN recently did a report about roads getting better and how it affects traders and their buisness. Pay close attention to how much the reporter says the trader earns a day and what she's now able to do with that money. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnXCfCA0p9A%22 |
snnipsi: Sugar-coated analysis - Papa Deceive Pikin (Umbrella) kind of speech. Busy doing nothing.Aii G.... Here's a link for you too, its basically your fault if you're suffering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnXCfCA0p9A%22 |
Dreamflyin: Which system churned out dose unqualified graduates?Well i still believe education is the best means to secure a better future. Now you should know that there are the "not so bright students" and the ones who "sort" their degrees and end up not being albe to defend it in an interview. When they eventually get rejected, they rebel and venture into crime or other "shortcuts" to success. Nigerian uni's are good, infact the educational system is great right off from nursery school. My father graduated from UNN and made something of himself and so did many of his colleagues, friends, relations etc. so you can't really blame the system but the individual. |
Dreamflyin: Poor Emiratis(in european context) can't afford cribs in VGC but can afford a car, a job wit healthcare. In Nigeria, a bricklayer has to work his arse off to make N3k max daily if he got d strenght. Pls do u call dat livin?Lets use your bricklayer for example; he earns 3k a day, even if he has to work his butt off right? Same as people who work in Walmart. Now he earns N30k in 10 days no?... In a month give or take 70k... that's over $450 no? Pretty close to what Mc Donald workers earn in US right and this is a "third world" country. I don't know which graduate earns N20k a month, graduate of what abeg? Even the banks pay workers at least 100k monthly. But lets not go into the coperate world, lets deal on the working class, the unskilled and non graduates/illiterates. A roadside seller who sells plantain, tomato, fruits etc will earn at least $25 on a bad day and about four times that amout on a good day ($100).... Find the average she makes everyday and you tell me what exactly you're yapping about. Btw that's about $1,870 a month (over N300,000 yes?) . Now i do know there are poor people but you should understand that there also lazy people who don't want to do anything atall but want the government to provide everything for them and that's what I'm totally against. Now i don't know when last you were in Nigeria, but the bad roads are becoming non-existent ( roads are being rehabilitated as days go by), As for electricity... Most Nigerians can testify to how much better it has gotten. As for free education, please go and look at the government schools in PH, Calabar, abuja, IMO etc and see how they are being rehabilitated most especially Ph. |
Dreamflyin: @Godogwu;LOOL is that how you feel?.........Aii G. These unemployed/underemployed graduates you speak of, what are their credentials, what area of study, can they defend their degrees?. You don't expect to study philosophy and get a job right out of uni. Same way you can't be a third class graduate going to seek for a job in Shell, elf, zenith etc. A large number of these unemployed graduates want a great paying job right after uni, i mean nothing less than N6m annually and some person eventually takes up that job they earlier rejected/neglected and now its too late.... Nevertheless, this doesn't apply to all cases. The thing is so many factors come into play with regards to employment.... Even when Nigeria gets its refinaries running, not every unemployed graduate will get a job cos so many are still unqualified. |
Dreamflyin: Millions u said. Wats the percentage of 10million out of 160million Nigerians?Yes, about 40 percent are living in poverty.... Structures have to be put in place to enable the "welfare" type thing you want introduced to Nigeria to cater for the poor. That can't be done and implemented in one year, it takes time. Just so you know, even when these things are put in place, there would still be poor people. And how exactly do the emiratis live? Or are you going to tell me a poor Emirati can buy a house in VGC or Wuse? Let go of the sentiments and you could actually make a point. |
Dreamflyin: True, God help dem wen we will rise. Someday, it'lll happen and must happen. You see what I mean, you act as if you're pro Nigeria but you're actually not. I keep saying this over and over and over again THERE MUST BE RICH AND POOR PEOPLE IN ANY SOCIETY, IT IS NEEDED FOR SOCIAL BALANCE (SOC 101) . I don't know who is rising with you to fight and shed blood when things are already looking up for the country, just go and look at our GDP growth rate.... "Only someone dat lives in highbrow areas, from d family of peeps that had gained from d massive corruption in Nigeria, or exploits cheap labour in their workplaces will admit dat Nigerians ar happy and wouldnt do all dat." Now this right here is utter and complete rubbish!!, you can't even be more wrong. In essence anyone who lives in a highbrow area or rather lives the "good life" in Nigeria has probably soiled their hands in some sort of corruption and so they won't want anything to change yea?, i can't even with some of you....... I just can't. Sorry though, but you may have failed to notice the millions of Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, accountants, Nurses, enterprenuers, CEOs, MDs, pilots, professors, directors, musicians, actors, actresses, footballers, pharmacist, comedians..... I could go on and on.... Who live the very "good life" you envy so much with no connections to the government whatsoever. I hope this helps "inform" you. |
Dreamflyin: U ar one Nigerian i'm afraid to call a compatriot. U were told d truth, n dat truth was damn bitter. Rather dan take d truth gentlemanly, u resorted to counter attack. Wat a pity! What truth? All i saw in his/her post was just a nice way of degrading Nigerians in general. Calling us fools in a subtle manner.... Let me re-trace my steps a bit, i am in no way justifying or neglecting Nigeria's problems. But common man!!, people have been talking about the problems in Nigeria since i was born, always comparing it to western countries or other African countries and frankly I'm tired of hearing the whole sentimental BS. What exactly are you doing to make the country better?, are you providing employment, building schools, helping the less privileged? Etc.... If the answer is no, I really don't want to hear it. Some people make it seem like these politicians or government officials fall from the sky and rule the country, not atall mate, they were once everyday citizens like us; they went to school and worked in different career sectors before deciding to join politics or getting appointed by the FG. My point is, we know Nigeria's problems just like we know that of the US, UK, SA etc, what we need now is action, patriotism and discipline and not a nitwit to tell us what we already know. P.s only someone who is totally ignorant would think Nigeria is at the same spot it was even 5 years ago. Things are changing rapidly and I'm sure you know this, we are definitely not there yet but i beg to ask, is any country on the planet there? ...... |
dangiwa09: How does it feel for you to sit here and have "fun" while your commonwealth is plundered by your leaders, while your country is just an embarassment and a disgrace within the community of nations? In Syria, Libya, Kenya, Sudan, Palestine etc., people have the guts/balls to come out, protest and die for their Nation. But you come here like fools/imbeciles/animals to talk about cars, fun and other animalistic tendencies, you drink your beer, eat your suya, pepper soup, goat head etc, and you sit on your coward sorry asses, talking about sheit and waiting for unseen Gods to come down from heaven and fix your country for you. You swallow sewer in other countries embassies to get a visa to leave your country, and when you get to another country you continue to swallow the same sewer to stay there. Even animals have more dignity and self respect, you all are below animals. When will you have the balls/courage and intellect to rise up and take a stand for your blessed country and for your human dignity? Or maybe you don't deserve it, and you're just a bunch of lower class animals waisting oxygen on this planet.*sigh* ermm where do i even begin with you? But thanks for calling all Nigerians fools aii, on a Nigerian Forum, owned by a Nigerian and run by Nigerians. Forgive me cause this may sound insulting to you. Are you a bastard? , who gave you the f&&king right to judge Nigerians? Like who the hell are you, preaching BS upon BS based on your very uninformed thoughts and shitty myopic view. Now, just a few facts and stats for you; Nigeria is the most populous black nation on earth, hence we are influential in any part of the world, most especially Africa. The wealthiest black man and woman on earth are Nigerian. Nigeria has the fourth largest/ most powerful military in Africa. Nigeria is one of the greatest oil producing countries in the world. Nigerians are the most educated black people in the world. Nigeria has the wealthiest "black" elite group in the world. Like!!!! There's so much to love about this country, a handful of Elites in Nigeria can buy any of those countries you mentioned, if they were to go for auction #FACT!. You probablytried to get a Visa to some western country and got bounced and writing a whole load of utter rubbish on a Nigerian forum is just sad and appalling. Frankly i don't know who still sees the US, UK, France and the rest as heaven, cause i certainly don't. People like myself just either school in these places you look up to as heaven and come back to Naij after that because there is too much money to be made in Nigeria. That or buisness, tourism/ vacations.... All those "uniformed" Nigerians that go through hell just to get a visa....*laughs*, well i guess they are what I said they are "uninformed". Finally don't go blaming politicians and government officials for your self inflicted poverty, they have family and friends to take care of and they are not responsible for the betterment of your life.... Nahh G, you owe that to yourself. I hope you're a tad more "informed" now aii... |
i seriously wanna know that person too ...am ready to do anything better the life of such a person as long as he/she is willing to work 300 my foot
LOL... It's so funny to me, I swear. My gateman earns 35k every month, and we feed him twice daily, so basically his entire salary goes to his savings.. I don't even know what those world bank, UN or whoever came up with those BS stats are smoking. |
Billyonaire: In Oil/Gas, lower executives earn between 4m to 5m per month. Many people in Nairaland actually are not aware of organizational structures and payroll.Like!!! I don't even understand how so many can be uninformed, everything is "our money"..... Like!! Did your father give the FG N10m to keep for you?, or how much are you even paying in taxes ( if they pay taxes). But yea.... Totally with you on this... |
Dreamflyin: Really? Have u been to Lagos slums? Warri slums? PH slums? And other slums across the country? There will always be poor people gaddammit!, I think billionaire is trying to say Nigerians have a way greater purchasing power than that which has been depicted by most media houses and i totally agree. I still want to know who lives on that N160 or N300 a day B.S |
fistonme: chairman live that thing, he buy am with him money for where? No be public fund he convert to him own? The cost of that car is so much that most public officers would not be able to afford it unless they misappropriate publc funds. You do know that a permenant secretary gets over N1.5m a month right? Plus other perks, not to talk of commissioners, senators and ministers who earn about double or triple that amount monthly. Some government officials don't need to steal funds yo, they earn well enough..... I know this! and frankly, i really don't care, as long as they do their respective jobs. |
one thing is sure, nigeria cannot get better as far i knw until d destruction of d world, so d more u wait 4 her 2 get beta d worse she(nigeria) goes. so my dear come back home, home is home.
That's why you can never progress in life. What do you have to you're name,? like who the hell are you though? Who bloody knows you? Are you a factor on this earth? Nahh G, i don't think so. You should go and hide your poverty stricking and inferior self and just end it all by yourself!!. *laughs* don't diss my country yo!, run along now.... |
redsun: You probably say that because you are not unfortunate to be caught up orile, ajegunle and ikotu breed like most nigeria are.Plceshere suppose hard working sane people literally live in hell on earth, made so by years of misrule by unconstructive and inhumane laeders.Umm are you telling me people who stay in adjegunle and the rest stand a greater chance of getting kidnapped? Please!! Those places you mentioned are ghettos and no one expects ghettos to look like banana island or manhattan. People who live in ghettos are mostly made up of the working class and unemployed and if the environment is dirty and unfriendly, its solely the fault of its inhabitants. Finally all fingers are not equal, In Soc 101 the functionalist perspective agrees that there has to be social class hierarchy for social balance. There's always going to be Rich, average and poor people.... It's inevitable. Some quotes for you "its not your fault if you're born poor, but its most definitely your fault if you die poor" -Bill Gates , "there's are endless opportunities in every part of the world, it just takes a smart eye to see them"-Aliko Dangote. Bye now. |
redsun: Nigeria is lawless country at the moment,if you want to live there, you have to make your own rules that keeps you alive.LAWL!! Please shoot someone in broad day light in front of the police and tell me how you fare in kirikiri. At the Post... Ermm i think Rossike said it all, SA is more developed, but if you have a good steady income in Nigeria which according to your post.. You do, so my man you have nothing to worry about. Your not popular or anything that you should be kidnapped, I stay in VGC whenever I'm in Lagos with my Dad. Many of my friends do too and we chill a lot, and no one has been kidnapped -__-, so yea... Your safe. Its really not as bad as some broke Nigerians and "uninformed" outsiders paint it aii.....probably this helps. For all those Nigerians that see SA as Heaven, *laughs*. |
Other people might have probably put this out but I'll just say this..... Africa is like a football team or a Class and SA is like the star player or Class prefect/valedictorian respectively. Nigeria on the other hand is that player the Team can never do well without or that very popular kid in school who's not necessarily as smart as the valedictorian but is still the envy of many students. Well that's how I see both countries.... Just my take on this. |
Lanrefahm: south africa is far better dan naija. dis is a silly question. is just like comparing messi with obafemi martins or comparing BH to MASSOB comparing wole soyinka to chinua achebe.I've seen daft comments but you sir!, you take the cake! |
. Those who live on $1 are mostly those who do nothing at all and there are many. Not the average hardworking person like these ladies. If everyone can just get busy, poverty will be less.
So what you're saying Is that 60% of Nigerians do nothing.... ( that's according to reports) but nahh i still don't believe that. Even if there's a percentage, its probably not up to 40 percent. |
