Politics / Re: Lagos Demolishes Over 50 Illegal Structures In Lekki, Agungi Area by Godyke(m): 4:47pm On Sep 07 |
Instead of the government to focus on how to stop those residents from privatizing roads by blocking and putting gates on all the existing roads and streets in that area demanding for access codes to use them. To the best of my knowledge, the issue at Agungi Ajiran road is not Shanties and Squatters, but due to poor road planning. That road floods all year round even with the presence of canal nearby. That road should be rebuilt same as Orchid Road. |

Point of correction @ OP, the current stage of work shown in your pictures is for one side of the road. The express lane and the service lane and it's solar street lights on concrete poles. Work has not yet commenced on the second side and as well as the rail tracks. |

Both Good Friday, Easter, and the myth of not eating meat are not in the Bible. Therefore all of the mentioned practices are unbiblical and does not make it Christianly according to you. 86 Likes 6 Shares |

This policy is a s a result of improper vaccination when he was an infant, now it is affecting his sense of reasoning. Btw why did he forget to include the markets, police stations, The Comrade buses and the prisons. Are they not also public places? How come traditional shrines are not included are they not also worship centres? 11 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Abia: No More Sale Of Revenue Ticket To Okada, Keke Riders On Holidays — Ikpeazu by Godyke(m): 6:07am On Jul 18, 2021 |
Very good. This is one of the resolutions that should have been met during the last southern governors meeting held in Lagos. Because Lagos is the number one culprit when it comes to this issue. The state should have been used as a test pilot for things like this because of its notoriety when it comes to issues like this 1 Like |
Politics / Re: NCC: We Don’t Have adequate Coverage For Electronic Transmission Of Results by Godyke(m): 12:40pm On Jul 16, 2021 |
This is a blatant lie and a deliberate excuse to continue undermining the integrity of our electoral process. What are they transmitting that cannot be transmitted from anywhere on earth. Even live matches are transmitted live via OB vans. What happens to Mini portable VSAT technology that can carry transmission via satellite. This is really absurd and ridiculous. 1 Like |

So joining force in defense of another country is now a thing to celebrate. I wonder how many Americans will do same if given the opportunity to serve in the Nigerian Armed Forces. No matter what, our loyalty belongs to our fatherland and only a bastard will despise their fathers house for other people's father. |
Politics / Re: Sanwo-Olu Flags Off Construction Of Regional Road In Lekki by Godyke(m): 11:07am On May 31, 2020 |
As long as the road begins or terminates at VGC, it will surely be like going round in circles. It would have been better if the road not only terminating at VGC but also be linked through to Abraham Adesanya-Ogombo road so it can act as a bypass to the Ajah traffic menance. All the same at all at all na him bad pass. |

The downside of these building design is that they are built without any form of balconies in mind. Knowing fully well that most people especially those on the last floor will need to dry their clothes without having to come downstairs to drag for rope space. 1 Like |

hefelove: Sorry, kindly redirect your message cause I am not clear with what you meant by 1500 to NC fro now. But the standard fare is N300 by speed boat on weekdays by private speed boats while the LAGFERRY is N200, but LAGFERRY is not available during weekend. The price on weekend is around 400 to 500.You may go to the CMS jetty if the Onikan Jetty is too expensive |

I noticed that a lot of persons here have been so carried away by the euphoria of this initiative and forgot to know that this mode of water transportation is also a luxury. They forgot to realize that it is not for everybody but for a targeted clientele. For instance the N500 fare been announced here is only an introductory promo fare for only four trips after which the fare will go up to N1,000 per trip. How many person can afford a N2, 000 daily return trip just to be beat traffic. The aim is not only to profer a solution to the traffic menance but they are rather capitalizing on their situation to make money. So let's not rejoice yet. |

He might be innocent after all, but he is just been held because as the head, he is responsible. As it stands he is still innocent until proven guilty. Churches should learn to tag children who are left in children class, and a cut out duplicate copy of the tag and given to the parent as evidence of attendance without which no child can be retrieved. If not anybody can lay claim to a non existing missing child to set one up 1 Like |

Tokenism: Yes there are. But you will hardly miss your boat because boats operates till 8.pm especially on weekends where there is high traffic of fun seekers. Although there used to be curfew for 7pm imposed by the Nigerian Navy due to an incidence of militant attack on the NNPC facility more than 5 years ago but it has been extended till 8pm. |

warrenweste: You are very much welcome. You can go to the island from Obalende through any of these two Jetties. The first Jetty is under the officers mess bridge near the onikan stadium. That is, coming from Bonny Camp Victoria island into Onikan end of the bridge. This is for only speed boat. Alternatively you can use the CMS marina Jetty where you can go with LAGFERRY on weekdays only or speedboat at their current jetty just after the BRT bus shelter coming from CMS. Hope you know how to find your way from Obalende to CMS or Onikan officers mess. Bike or Keke can take you to either of these two places with just N200 or less. 1 Like |

In addition to the above description by OP, Tarkwa bay is a historical land. It is just a part of several communities that makes up island that stretches all the way to the coast of Badagry. The island host other communities such as Abagbo, Ebute Oko, Tomaro, Agala, Oko Kate, NPA store village, Ogogoro village, Light house village and so many others. It is also hosting the massive Atlas cove petroleum products Depot owned by PPMC, a subsidiary of NNPC. There is also a military guarded vessel offloading jetty for imported petroleum products as seen in one of the pictures attached. The Island was originally occupied by some Ghanaian fishermen mailnly from a city call Tarkwa in Ghana. Most of the indigenous people of the island are of Beninois and Togolese background. There is a particular part of the island that is reserved for guest houses of several companies such as Cappa, Shell, First Bank, Union Bank, YMCA and lots more. Even the Nigeria Police and other Nigeria Armed Forces are not left out . Even the famous Tarzan and his brother Taofeek the owner of Fiki jetty beside the Falomo bridge at Victoria island are both products of the island. There are lots of natural and fresh food from both the seas and from the forest. Coconut is in excess as well as various kinds of sea food. Crime rate is almost zero as it is impossible for criminals to operate and escape freely. The beach is one of the calmest beach in the state. Anyone can swim in it as it sometimes as calm as a swimming pool on a good day. Although a part of the beach is rough enough for surfing. It is one of the best destination for international visitors. The transport fare to the island is not as expensive as portrayed. On weekdays, fare by speed boats is N300 while the more slower but safer Lagos Ferry is N200. But the fare on weekends is around N400 to N500 for the mainly speed boats because the Lagos Ferry service does not operate on weekends which leaves the speed boat as the only option. The Island is directly opposite the Eko Atlantic City as you can see from the pictures from the OP. The two islands, Tarkwa bay and Victoria Island is separated by just a channel of less five hundred meters with massive ships passing through to and from Apapa or Tin can ports. The ship are so close that you can almost touch them as the sail past which make it a very interesting sight to behold. You can yell at somebody at the either side of the island and they will hear each other. The Island is under Eti osa local government of Lagos state. These and many more are my best memories about this awesome island. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Why only 17 out of 36 states? That is less than half of the entire country. What does it take to implement it nationwide at one once just like the directive on TIN. 911 can be reached from any state in the US. |

It's so unfortunate things have to be allowed to degenerate to this. An issue that should have been settled amicably by this same police officer. This indeed shows how the police see the citizens and themselves. I am very familiar with this town and the bank in question is a UBA branch that shares a dwarf fence boundary with the police station. Unfortunately this is the only bank in the whole of the city and it is always a thug of war to withdraw money from their ATM due to the mammoth crowd that always besiege there. May his soul rest in peace |
Politics / Re: Lagos Shuts Christ Embassy, Mosques, Hotels, Other Churches Over Noise Pollution by Godyke(m): 10:11am On Nov 25, 2019 |
I think the govt should do more than just this periodic and selective clamp down, there is still more to do. The noise perpetrators of this offence is on the high side. They need more public enlightenment and regulation of the activities of these centres by licensing them. Their licence should only be renewed if they have been in compliance with the regulations. The public enlightenment should also include contact information on how to reach them for complaints or enquiries. I am a victim of such pollutions from worship centres and music sellers in a purely residential area 1 Like |

Education / Re: Lagos Gov. Approves Establishment Of 173 Private Schools by Godyke(m): 7:26am On Nov 20, 2019 |
Unfortunately they did not address the issue of the specifications of how a standard school should be setup and as well as high school fees charged by these private schools. Some of these schools just set up their schools anywhere and anyhow without consideration to safety, space, ventilation, distraction, locations, hygiene, and conduciveness of the environment for sports and other extracurricular activities that make learning complete. And above all the school fees are too exorbitant for the common men who would want to patronize. 2 Likes 1 Share |
