asuustrike2009:

It would be less competitive if MTN had continued with that rate because most mtn subscribers will not be willingly to call other networks rather they will prefer to call MTN numbers . Did you remember on this forum when etisalat drag mtn to court over family and friends package? They said MTN restricted registration of FAF to mtn numbers. With this policy, most subscribers will want to use other networks to make calls to any number rather than use mtn because it is a bit expensive. MTN are smart enough to roll out bundle packs : on net calls, data bundle and international call bundles at cheaper rates. This time around they still win being the market leader in the market. But on a serious note, MTN apart from etisalat tends to be innovative.

Are you saying other networks stand to gain something when other network subscribers call subscribers on their own network?

I got a text about it. Its an NCC directive. being the market leader can be a curse sometimes.

My concern is, why is this so called regulation targetting only MTN. Other networks have similiar plans like the TrueTalk+ plan that allow subscribers to make call across all networks @11k/sec with N5 daily access charge.

I thought there is a difference between a common thief and an armed robber, talkless of a robbery kingpin.

These are common thieves that form a part of a likely robbery gang. Hence their action was stealing and not robbery. That is why they could be easily caught by an unarmed driver.

Phones / Mtn Increases Call Tariff On Its True Talk Plans by Godyke(m): 7:41am On Oct 13, 2015
I noticed that MTN has recently increased call rates on its TrueTalk and TrueTalk+ tariff plans. While I was trying to confirm it, I recieved an sms from MTN with this message;

"Y'hello! Thank you for using TrueTalk. In adhrence with regulatory requirements, TrueTalk is now 20k/sec. Enjoy 100% bonus on every recharge by dialing *885*PIN"

My sister also recieved the same message on her truetalk+ plan.

I aslo noticed that the TrueTalk+ plan has been cancelled, as her account balance message no longer displays TrueTalk+ but just TrueTalk.

Did anybody notice this new development?

Police need to clamp down the dude and take that shit off. That's how they will be causing avoidable accidents due to their reckless behaviours. How could any sane fellow wanna watch TV on motion!

Your comment shows that you just came from the remotest part of a remote area where civilization is still far.

If not why would you want the police to go after any vehicle that is fitted with TV. Most modern cars, especially SUVs, Sienna type of any family space vans, Mini Buses, Luxury Buses even BRT Buses in Lagos are all either factory fitted with TV or installed by their owners. How many of them do you think they can arrest? Besides, when is it the primary duty of the police to go about arresting motorists rather than facing criminals.

No be Ibo guy?, they love doing that stuff. That's why I don't think I can marry from that ethnic group, not that I dislike them, it's just that even the girls in all case insist on waiting on a guy from their region. You can date an Ibo babe for 4 good years but immediately a guy from her region comes along, there is a tendency of her leaving you for him.

There are some good and down to earth girls in the village, most 'city' girls are just good for nothing, they are only good to warm beds and car seats. gringringringringringringrin

If you think this about the Igbo tribe, try the hausas then. I believe they are much easier to date and marry. The Igbo ethnic group don suffer for other nigerians hand. Well when you are at the top, you become the topic. The Igbos will always be on top.

Btw, is that the house the guy now stays, or is he just trying to impress us with a good looking neighbourhood?

[quote author=prudentcy post=38743357]Hmmm I'm sure many of us did not know some of these incredible facts about naija.
Time to learn Nairalanders...

1. The River Niger Bridge at Onitsha was constructed between 1964 and 1965 by Dumez- a French construction company and cost £5 million.

That was when Naira was equal to the British Pound while it was about 70k to a Dollar. Lets say the bridge actually cost #5m then. Thats a lot of money considering its value today

Science/Technology / Re: Quadcopter Drone Spotted On Third Mainland Bridge In Lagos! (Photos) by Godyke(m): 6:19pm On Oct 06, 2015
Pride and arrogance will not let some people to find out more what that device really is.

Confusing a remote controlled toy quadcopter, helicopter, tricopter or whatever with a drone is ignorance in itself.

That device is far more expensive than that your handheld remotely controlled toy you bought $60 for your child to play with in your compound.

A drone is not necessarily for combat purpose only. But for Surveillance, Video recording, picture taking and other useful peaceful intelligence purpose.

Such drone was deployed to take panoramic shots and High Definition video recordings of activities, by one of the media news stations that came to cover the event when Pastor Kumuyi Of Deeper Life held her crusade at the open field at Orile Ilasan lekki just three weeks ago.

The camera has night vision capability as it could also be deployed in the dark of the night.

So ITKs should stop condeming the OP for creating a thread to clear his curiosity and the moderators for putting it on the frontpage.

According to the OP, the question is, is this how we roll? Which aslo means, is this how and where our civilization have landed us even in this 21st century?

We need to adopt a more civilize method of doing things than doing it the old usual ways.

We cannot expect to experience change when we decide to do things the same old and antiquated ways and still expect to be relevant in the face of advancement.

What happen with he PHCN officials arming themselves with the list or database of customers that are yet to pay up their bills after a particular deadline given, rather than demanding to see physical paper. There is nothing normal in abnormalcy.

We dont need to put our bills in plastic bottles just to proove our innocence. It does not make any sense. It is an eyesore and does not tell any good of our system.

Pls how do i block/bar a mtn line from calling me

You can actually bar a particular number from calling your number. Although it is depended on the type of handset. Some itel and tecno phones does it. You can do so by adding the number to blacklist by following this steps. On your either recieved, dialed or missed call menu, scroll and select the number, press option scroll to add to blacklist to bar the number. Your number will always show number busy whenever that number try to call you. You can repeat the step to remove from blacklist. You can add as many number as you want

I am a beneficiary. But it actually depends on your usage as not all sims are considered.

I noticed that lines that are less active on the network are usually considered above those that are more active.

For instance, only one of my two lines which are both on Truetalk+ plan was considered while the other was not.

The other was placed on the second promo with three options to choose from.

1. You get 3 times the value for calls when you load N1,500 which is N4,500 for 7days (may not necessarily have to only be for MTN to MTN calls)

2. You get 500mb for N500 for 30 days for data only.

3. You get 50mins of call to some international destinations for N500 @100/min for 7 days.

You Can only choose one of the three options. Depending on which one best suits your need.

I could picture what really happened. The driver actually missed his way at the iyana oworo exit and enterend the bridge in error. The third mainland has always been a no go area for heavy duty trucks like trailers at any time of the day. The best he could have done is to reverse all the way back with the assistance of his conductor rather than trying to make a turn on the bridge. Such decision and eventual action could land him in a more serious trouble which is driving against traffic otherwise known as ONE WAY. This whole event may have taken place in the mid night. I Feel for him. Ignorance and illiteracy indeed is a disease.

I do not agree with the claims and allegations here. The truth about the real situation is being hidden. The claim that a section or all the market is not under her authority is not true
If not,
1. Why honour the her invitation at all if you are not affiliated to her associations or under her authority.
2. Why send a lawyer to represent the executives when the issue on ground is not a legal issue. What will it take to assemble a number of the executives to go see her even at short notice.
3. Did looting of shops really take place? If so those people were not sent by Iyaloja herself. They merely wanted to achieve a hidden agenda and using her name as backup.
4. Does the Iyaloja have her seal of authority? Because what I saw in those pictures is paper cellotape with handwritten notice on them.
5. Does her office have an official phone line, and how come they did not reach or any of her staff through it instead of one random GSM no. that is either on the road going to only God knows where or switched off

Phones / Re: MTN Customer Care Thread by Godyke(m): 1:43pm On Sep 20, 2015
I expect you guys to first of all insist on knowing what the micro credit is all about before requesting for deactivation.
The micro credit is the same as MTN backup. It is a service that allows you to back up all your contacts on the MTN network thereby saving all customers the pain of loosing their important contacts in the event of damage to sim or due to phone loss or theft. The difference is that all customers are automatically subscribed in this case. The sychronisation for backup is done periodically and not monthly.
