This now bring to the conclusion that wrestling, which I see people watch on the TV screens of those road side electronics shops, are more real than the so called football matches some die hard fans troop to go watch at viewing centres and even bet over.

All we read and hear everyday is clamp down on those who carry out legitimate means of livelihood. Nobody is talking about the same traffic law that prohibits the national union and their Agbero counterparts from forcefully collecting money from commercial motorists at every bus stops, highways and places other than major garages. Or have that part of the law been put on hold until after 2015 election.

Hope you are alright? You obviously dont know football. The Super Eagles made do of their experience despite the loads of unfavourable circumstances. That wasnt luck but tactical experience. In Calabar, there is the home of the Super Eagles where they need'nt worry about the altitude, rough pitch, hostile fans and other tricks, now, they will focus and outplay the Ethiopians scoring anough goas as usual.

Come, you don't have to start by addressing me with such rude comments. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinions and you are not compelled to accept mine.
I have a reservoir of insults in which I also have one that will be suitable for you. But I won't do that because I am much more matured than you and wouldn't want to derail this thread. If you want cheap popularity or seeking for attention go get it somewhere.

Are you sure this is Obinna himself talking or his PA. When did he come off the bench to play? who did he replace? and at what time of the match did he come in. That's why am doubtful if these comments actually came from Nsofor himself.
As for the game at hand in Calabar, eagles should be under pressure to ensure we defeat them because with what happened in Ethiopia, don't be surprised to see a repetition. The Ethiopians really outplayed the eagles. We were just lucky to have been favoured to carry the day. That game was actually a draw and if not for the penalty, it would have been a win over Nigeria. Let's be sincere with ourselves.
Politics / Re: Flood In Uyo Despite Drainage System By Julius Berger by Godyke(m): 11:43am On Oct 19, 2013
Who is blaming Julius Berger for flood in their estates or community. Did Berger construct the entire streets in the capital? They are only responsible for the construction of major roads and not streets. Pay a visit to these affected communities and you will see that these allegations are all lies and attempt just to discredit the credibility of Julius Berger. I hope this is not the handiwork of those incompetent local construction companies whose bids were turned down during the transformation plan of the the city.

Enough of all these diversionary tactics. Is PDP the only party in Nigeria with internal issues? How is this suppose to be our problem. Wise up guys, including men.
By the way, what is the update on the PHCN takeover. The Femi Otedola and Farouk Lawan bribery saga, the Police Pension fraud issue. Justice for the Aluu 4, The Unending ASSU strike. The list is endless. If we can not ask then we shouldn't be drawn into unnecessary controversies. This is just a delay
tactic . We need to demand the stewardship from those we put into various offices
Politics / Re: Three Severely Burnt In Lekki Gas Fire by Godyke(m): 1:31pm On Oct 09, 2013
I don't know whether to believe this story or not. When the journalist who are used to feeding us with half baked truth were prevented from entering the premises for full details of what really happened. How is it possible to steal gas product from a tanker when it's not PMS, AGO or DPK. What quantity will they be able to scoop, and move out considering the conditions through which they went in and the time in question being just 5.30am. The best the thieves could do was to either steal brand new empty cylinders or already filled ones for sale in the open market. That is the essence of scaling the fence in the first place.
Travel / Re: Pilot Makes Emergency Landing In Sokoto As Tyres Exploded After Take-off by Godyke(m): 11:35am On Oct 07, 2013
Please I want the aviation experts in the house to throw more light on the possibility of an aircraft tyre to burst while airborne. The report did not say the tyre bursted during take off while its still on ground.
It is assumed that the Tyre bursted even while it is still climbing and while entire tyres are yet to be retracted. If there was a need to make an emergency landing, why not return to the same KANO airport rather than going all the way to Sokoto for landing. Was there a stop over plan in Sokoto prior to this incident? If the plane could still land why not proceed on the flight since the flight can still land anyway other tyres . The whole story is not too clear.

Food / Re: Cooking With Gas Or Kerosene, Which Is Cheaper (economical)? by Godyke(m): 12:13am On Oct 04, 2013
naijadeyhia: There is a new cooker in the market now that uses kerosene but burns like gas. As an experiment i bought one and tested it. 5liters of kerosene fills it up and it lasts for 1 month and 5 litres of kerosene is about 800 naira. The reason why it lasts me for 1 month is because my wife cooks a lot as she likes her meals freshly cooked and not iced up. To me using this new kerosene gas cooker, kerosene wins for me hands down. This is the pressure stove

Plus on top the fact that this cooker cooks two times faster than gas. Smokeless, and can use alcohol i.e spirit to light and preheat the burners before pressurizing. Also it is the safest among all of them.
Other benefits is that you don't need to buy a separate cylinder for its fuel storage. It has an integrated tank system. You can also determine the pressure of free air You can pump into the tank. Price ranges from 3k for the single burner and 7k for the double burners. Even with half liter of kerosene, you are good to go knowing fully well that kerosene is always readily available while LPG gas is not always available. And remember pocket may not always be full to refill that 12.5kg of gas cylinder of yours. So what are we talking about

The word import is not correct as long as the poster is not typing from Malaysia. He actually meant the trade migrated from Nigeria en-route a foreign land which is suppose to be export. It could only be import if the poster is resident where the act actually took place.

Politics / Re: Policemen Claim NSCDC Officials Provoked Them Into KIlling by Godyke(m): 12:19pm On Mar 28, 2013
draogtech: The police denied that its officers shot any civil defence officer.

The Lagos State Police Command has denied claims that its officers attacked officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Wednesday.

In a press statement issued by Ngozi Braide, its spokesperson, the police said the civil defence officers disarmed police officers responding to a distress call over alleged petroleum pipeline vandalism at Mosimi.

“The Lagos State Command wishes to use this medium to put the record straight on what actually transpired at Isawo-Ikorodu at early hours of today 27/3/2013 between the NSCDC and the Police,” said the statement.

“At about 0145hrs of date, there was a distress call from DM security PPMC, Mosimi that they were experiencing drop in pressure on the pipeline. The Unit Commander in charge of Konu immediately pulled out his men on Konu axis under Inspr Sunday Gabriel to proceed to the scene.”

Ms. Braide said that as the police officers were approaching the scene, they heard sounds of “serious gun firing” near the pipeline area; and Mr. Gabriel instructed his men to head towards the direction.”

“Upon arrival, they saw a group of Civil Defence Corp Members coming out from the direction where the shooting was earlier heard,” Ms. Braid, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said.

“The NSCDC men challenged the policemen who were about four in number on what their mission was in the area; ‘saying that it was their sole responsibility (Civil Defence) to guide and protect pipelines,” she added.

An argument ensued thereafter, according to the police statement, and the most senior NSCDC officer, DSC Olufemi, ordered his men, numbering 14, to disarm, arrest and handcuff the police team leader and three other members of his team.

“The NSCDC succeeded in disarming the police team leader, Inspr Sunday Gabriel, handcuffed him, collected his service pistol, walkie-talkie, and police I.D card,” the statement continued.

“As they were about dragging him into one of their standby hilux vehicles, a phone call was put to the Police Unit Commander reporting the situation. The three other officers resisted the arrest and this infuriated Civil Defence Officials who started shooting sporadically to intimidate and subdue the Police officers.

“Before the Police Commander could arrive the scene, the NSCDC officials had taken to their heels abandoning the handcuffed and leg chained Police Inspector with one NSCDC personnel.”

Ms. Braide further said that afterwards, the Police Commander at Mosimi received a “shocking” call from the NSCDC Commander that two of his men had been killed.

“Up till now, the pistol of Inspr Sunday Gabriel, who was badly beaten and stabbed by the NSCDC officials, including his other accoutrements are still with NSCDC,” said Ms. Braide.

The police account of the incident differs from the NSCDC version which stated that one of the policemen they encountered said that the NSCDC had no right to operate in the pipeline area.

An argument ensued and the NSCDC officers left the police only to encounter a hail of bullets from a second team of police officers, an NSCDC source said.

The NSCDC account also said that the arrested pipeline vandals made several phone calls to the police and escaped after the police attack.

The police spokesperson added that the incident led to NSCDC officers at Alausa, Ikeja, assaulting three police officers – Sergeant Charles Igiebor, Corporal Ekun Julius, and Corporal Okoro Charles – who went for National I.D Card registration exercise, on Wednesday morning.

“They also started attacking Policemen on sight in other parts of the State,” she added.
Ms. Braide advised Lagos residents to remain calm as “investigation into the matter has commenced.”

The Bolded parts gives me goose pimples whenever I read through them. This is a badly written script from the Police.

That is what you get from duplication of function. What is the the real function of the NSCDC.

They should be better off functioning as a neighborhood watch than securing pipeline or confronting oil vandals. Very soon, they too will start mounting road blocks, setting up checkpoint to demanding to see particulars of vehicle.

http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/boko-haram-deported-nigerien-vows-to-return/

Are these the pictures of the illegal aliens or suspected Boko Haram members. If they are pictures of Boko Haram members, then are they always related to foreigners? Is Nigeria carrying out a general operation against illegal Aliens or they are been selctive?. Are the Nigerien, Chadians and the Malians the only illegal foreigners in Nigeria or are they just been seen as threat? What happens to other illegal undocumented migrants from other African countries, what is Nigeria policy toward undocumented migrants. Why are they not putting on their clothes. What are the security men up to by asking them to remove their clothing. Is this how its done in western world when people are about to be deported? Why are there no women in that picture?. These questions need urgent answer.

One of US President Barack Obama's limousines has broken down in Israel.

The black, heavily guarded limousine experienced mechanical problems in Tel Aviv before Mr Obama landed in the country for a state visit.

Media reports said the vehicle was mistakenly filled with diesel rather than petrol.

The disabled limo was swapped for a back-up, and Mr Obama's busy itinerary in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Wednesday was not affected.

"This is why we bring multiple vehicles and a mechanic on all trips," US Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement.

"Situations like this are planned for extensively by our advance teams so that the President's itinerary is unaffected by these types of issues."
